Nargilem
Hi, My system experiences random crashes when heavily using the harddrive ( mostly with transmission / Vuze when they're checking the harddisk for files, but also just random crashes ) Tried booting -v, -f, -s.. no result. Boot with debug=0x100 gave me this beautiful crash report. I'm on the 9.4.0 modbin kernel. For system specs, see my sig. If any more info is needed, please ask me. I hope anyone has a clue, since this is _really_ annoying. ari79s
I got similar problems with Transmission after the 10.5.4 update but mine are less random. Whenever i turn the speed limit back off, after having it on for an hour or more, Transmission immediately hangs and 90% of the time locks up the os (sometimes i can sneek in a force quit), requiring a force shutdown. I never experienced this with 10.5.0 - 10.5.3. It kinda blows but I love Transmission and don't care for Vuze, so hopefully its a bug that'll be addressed in Transmission's next update. Anyone else with a similar problem or ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114080-random-system-crashes/#findComment-809080 Share on other sites

westwaerts
1. Possibility the Nvidia kexts interfer with the Nforce kexts ( some 0&0ffffff endings in the pci match) ( has been discussed here earlier, if you properly edit the info.plist with your card ID and delete the 0&0ffff endings it could help) 2. Sata, ATA, Atapi, Apple uses AHCI mode for SATA Drives ( besides ATA for DVD) i experienced in 10.5.4 only AHCI works without errors ( ioata blocking was my special case) 3. i had transmission errors with too much connections, but my connection ( modem) went away, not the pc. Nargilem
First solution didn't work. I also tried removing nvkush and install nvinject instead.. same problem. I also tried reinstalling, same problem.. Could you be a bit more specific on the second solution? It also panics when I use Vuze, but Transmission makes it panic more often.. weird. Thanks for the help anyway Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114080-random-system-crashes/#findComment-823207 Share on other sites
