macgirl
Do they know it is for Hackintoshes? Because there is no real Intel Macs with PCI slots. (DTK does not count btw).
MacUser2525
Do they know it is for Hackintoshes? Because there is no real Intel Macs with PCI slots. (DTK does not count btw). How would they not know what this would be for really?? They can see as well as anyone else that the machines Apple build do not have the slots to fit their cards. enb14
1) there's expensive PCIe expantion boxes for PCI Cards. 2) Even Pro-Tools PCI cards and RME PCI Cards have universal drivers. They will listen users and we need intel drivers for those m-audio cards since they won't release any PCIe cards any time soon at least they should create drivers for us. Probably they are figuring out that is for hackintoshes but since we are buying their cards they should release drivers for those cards in order to sell more soundcards. SwatsquadiK7
PCI SOUND CARD RME DIGI 96, with original rme audio drivers for mac. Don't Work rme-audio.com says: DIGI96 series: Cards which were compatible and incompatible to PCI-X slot computers have also been shipped in the DIGI96 series until the end of 2002. Unfortunately it is again not possible to define the time frame more accurately, nor to list the affected manufacturing dates. Using one of the above cards in an Apple G5 computer can cause serious damage to both DIGI96 and Hammerfall series of cards, as well as damage the G5. Therefore RME strongly advises to have all cards meeting the above criteria to be checked by RME before using them in a G5. Please note that checking and modification is not free of costs. enb14
Is not universal binary that's why current driver doesn't works.
stmiller
m-audio is quite hostile towards making Intel OS X PCI drivers for their own products. Check out the ESI Juli thread for a driver that works.
lucian_marza
Hy all! I might found something interesting that should make us happy...This sould solve this important issue .. "PCI universal drivers under mac ..." CHECK this out! http://www.arstech.com/item-SSI2-PCI-card-ssi2_pci.html What do you say about it??
enb14
That is just for plugging the card but you still need universal or intel only drivers.
lucian_marza
I'm not sure about what you said.. There are m-audio mac drivers. It's like having a USB sound card..you just plugin the USB cable, install the "normal" osx drivers, and should work..my point of view..
