goexplodex4
ok keep reading after you read the following error in -v install I get SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, ASC=0x64, ASCQ=0x00 disk1s3 unsupported mode This comes up, but it continues to install, it says it cant find an airport driver (though ive disabled my wirless anyway). I get into the blue screen with the spinning wheel (believe me I was quite excited thinking it was finally going to work on my inspiron 5150), and I stay there. The wheel just keeps on spinnin and after a while the hard drive access and CD drive stop reading and it just sits there, wheel spinning (mocking me ) can that sam read error cause this? Anyway Inspiron 5150 Mobility Pentium 4 3.06Ghz HT (with speedstep) --- yes ive tried disabling hyperthreading and speedstep 512MB Ram 10gb partition Windata DVD+R using the new 10.4/5 patched bootable iso Im so close Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11377-im-so-close-yet-so-far-blue-screen-hangs/ Share on other sites

blackentangled
that error is similar when installing in vmware using it's built-in cd drive. the solution was to mount the disk in daemon tools and all is well. wiredmeyer
I had the same problem. It turned out to be the DVD media. I reburned the ISO and have been able to load all the way now, just having boot issues after complete install.
