I installed KalyWay 10.5.2 onto Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 with ATI x1650

when booting, I get kernel panic telling me to restart...

I tryed to find a solution around, but without any luck...

can anyone please explain to me what now...

I'm new at this, but I love OSX and I need it badly...

;)

Help please

Thanks in advance...

I tried booting with -x, but still nothing...

I also tried to boot it with unplugged IDE DVD drive, but still the same... :censored2:

is there some booting guide, a list of switches and options that can be used at boot prompt...?

Thanks

I don't know (or think) it's the video card's fault - but apparently niether I nor you are the only one getting stuck at this Kernel Version panic. Every since I made a post this morning, I've discovered tons & tons & tons of people, threads & posts everywhere of people stuck at the exact same kernel panic that you are stuck with.

Theories range from single-core/quad-core processors to kext to keys in the installer. No one has any solution thus far, AFAIK.

Well, i see now, i can't escape inevitable anymore...

need to buy a real Mac...

I was a long time Mac user, and a long time ago... sys 6 to 8.1

later on I couldn't afford to buy a Mac around here in Croatia, bad support, and bad resellers with bad prices... shame on you Apple, for not taking care of us here... -_-

As a real Mac user I know for a fact that it is a better experience, a whole experience, I should say,

thing is working out of a box and You love it, a feeling strange to Win users...

Now, when I look back, i don't know anymore how I manage to survive on windows, it was a constant reinstalling, repairing and working around system, when I should work on whatever I'm working on...

and I don't want that on my hackintosh, and it's starting to be like this, a bad Mac experience...

Gee...

if only I had a few grands to spend on MacBook Pro, I gladly would... :(

damn it... i need MacOS

well, as my income is on low still :(

i thought I could maybe upgrade my configuration with some other VGA card...

which one should I buy for good compatibility and low price, would 8500GT be OK?

my current configuration is:

Core2Duo, Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3, DDR2 4GB Kingmax, ATI Sapphire Radeon x1650, SATA HDD

Ok, i have the same MB. I got kernel panic a lot but it installed fine. (first leo4all 10.5.3 then iatkos 10.5.4). My kernel panic comes from sata drivers from what i noticed.

For install, try to set sata in bios as ide not ahci. It will recognize only one (there are reports of two but for me only one) sata drive. Than you install on it. When installing from leo4all you can use modbin kernel but from iatkos its straightforward install. I checked additional sata support, smbios and acpi as patches. The rest i left out. When I found out whats causing kernel panic I'll post here.

If you need any additional help feel free to write me PM

Also kernel panic can be caused by strange permission on any file (_unknown user owns a file or folder ?!?!)

Hope this helps

try installing Kalyway 10.5.2....

it worked for me with my Asus P5E3 X38 and ICH9R chipsets with Q8200 and DDR3 2gb with 1333 Mhz

change in the bios from IDE to ACHI...worked for me ...

And install again Kalyway with Vanilla Kernel....

Hi, I have same mobo as you and I found that the retail dvd methods work well. have a look at guides by LTL and Karaakeha1. :)

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.
