I have tried installing OS X 10.4.3 onto my HP Centrino laptop. I can boot from the DVD, partition and format my harddrive, and "install" the OS, but when my computer reboots after installation I have issues. The computer starts, then I have the loading bar fill up, then my cursor and background show up, but then text appears on the screen telling me that I need to restart my computer and locks up. It does this every time religiously and I can't seem to get around it. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

I bet you used the JaS or Wesley patched install DVD? That has known issues with HP+ATI laptop hardware, they install fine but you can't boot afterwards. There was a bunch of threads on this a while back. Using you-know-who's basic patch on a raw install DVD works, but then you have to go loading various kexts to get the functionality. I don't think anyone came up with a simple solution, though if you can get it to boot into single user mode you might be able to delete the ATI kexts and cache to see if that helps.

Hmmm, thanks for the help, though I'm extremely new to Mac, as I just recently have been getting interested in it. I don't even know what you mean to be honest when you say boot into single user mode. If there's not really an easy way to fix the issue maybe I best learn to use a mac a little before attempting anything?
