MacPray
I have installed Kalway 10.5.2 onto a Partition with GUID selected as the option. Problem is that I do not find any way to select EFI bootloader as GUID. There is no option or mention of bootloader or efi under "Customise" or under any menu/option that I can find during the install procedure. Do I need to install the bootloader in a separate process or something like that??? Sorry for this Newbie question. I have been trawling the forums all day but no answers. Lots of posts mention that EFI bootloader needs to be set to GUID or MBR to match the way the disk is partitioned so I assume this option is obvious to some people? Install reports success. But when re-booting, the gray Mac screen and spinning circle stop after a minute and a multi-language message says restart the computer. If I do -f -v -s, I get yards of info but one line said that "the root device is mounted read-only" and another "jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5". I would be grateful for any help. Superhai
No need to set any option, you have another issue than your boot. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111877-setting-efi-bootloader/#findComment-792263 Share on other sites
