snrfuse213
Hey guys. I have a quick question. I'm using Kalyway Leopard 10.5.2. with speedstepkernel. My question is this. On the system profiler, next to BOOT ROM VERSION, I have: Boot_EFI_v8. Will this enable me to update the software via apple's update software thing? Or will it bring my software down on the next reboot? And if it would bring it down, does it mean I can't and won't be able to do so, unless I'm using vanilla kernel, which I think only works with an Intel Core 2. (I have Pentium D Dual-Core) One more question. Is the boot efi v8 the same as pci_efi, or what would i need to do, if it's possible, to update the software directly from apple? Thanks in advance. sama7896
software update from apple is out of the question unless you use elaborate backup/ restore commands (vanilla does not guarantee update ootb!) Vanilla works on pentium d too, that's not the issue.
