NoSmokingBandit
I have a ga-p35-ds3l. Everything works 100% with a guide that is around here. Its a great cheap board. For the most part anything with a P35 chipset works very well. Idk about any other sets though. I hear the asus p5k series is good, but i've never used one. NVInject is what we call a Kext, or Kernel EXTension. Thats mac-talk for Driver. It goes in the system\library\kext folder and gets loaded when you boot up. Permissions are part of the UNIX way of keeping things secure. You, as a user, cant modify any system file without giving your password. Whenever you change the permissions on a file you have to set it back to the original one or it gets all screwey. Robosoft
Hi, Thanks for reading the following rubbish. It seams to me that there is alot of messing with command lines different kernals etc. People posting and reporting sucess (with a few patches). Well i have a few simple questions that im sure every newbee will want to know. What is the best board to buy that works with the latest DVD Hacks? Now before your post your answers think carefully! - we don't want to know about patches. We want to know - i put in the kalyway disk and it worked without doing anything!! (BTW Thanks Kalyway). What im getting at is this. We are looking for a simple setup so we can build low cost macs. so we want a system board that is as close to a mac mini as possible. (im sure you are getting the idea) NVinject??? how - do you run it? where is it? This may all be simple to you mac experts but to someone looking at this for the first time its too much. changing permissions - ktexts. ahhh what is all this??? The way I see it is the more simple you make it, the more people will donate. So we need the ultimate board that works with onboard sound, video, lan. and if there is any patching very little, and instructions on how to patch! even if the ultimate board is no longer available at least list it (so we could search ebay) What we need is a manufaturer to listen to us and put the lan, audio chipsets that work back onto a new board. (and advertise it as mac friendly! - im dreaming now) so post away. e.g. PCCHIPS k7s5a Chipset - No LAN - No Audio - No PCCHIPS 810LMR Chipset - No LAN - No Audio - Yes Video - No Thanks again, keep up the good work!
