ZENER
Hi all. I've been having this issue since my first install but figured it was just the Belkin NEC based Firewire card I had that didn't agree with my set-up. So I bought a VIA based card today but still have the same problems. When moving large files (> 50MB) from a firewire disk the transfers regularly pause for a moment then take off again - it's never a smooth transfer. In iMovie the camera disappears intermittently and control is lost so recording video is impossible. I've tried playing about with IRQs in the BIOS and changing PCI slots but nothing helps. I'm using Kalaway 10.5.2 upgraded to 10.5.3. The rest of my system runs fine and the specs are in my sig. Anyone experiencing this problem ? Headrush69
Have you looked in Console at the logs for possible clues?
ZENER
Yeah but it doesn't make much sense. In All Messages I get: SystemUIServer[196] Error: ACInterfaceGetPower() called with invalid interface This repeats all the time even without firewire transfer taking place or devices connected. In Console Messages I get: com.apple.launched[120] (0x1095f0.Locum[260] Exited: Terminated When the transfer finishes. TIA Ken
ZENER
Can anyone help. This is ruining the whole experience of the hack. My main use is video plus my Time Machine drive is Firewire. Thanks again. Ken
Headrush69
Is it possible to test your Firewire card and your drive in another PC?
