maddoxnero
Hello, I currently use an intel mac. I have a g4 logic board but, no power supply to use it. So, I thought I'd ask. What was the programmers button for? Did it load a different OS to program with? Document links if possible are welcomed.
spacklewoof
i think one was a reset button and the other brought up a console window. Mind you, I'm pulling this back from 1990. Back when mac's ran 68xxx chips and PPC was new. -w00f
QckSlvrGuyInKC
Programmer's button actually served two purposes - it brought up a console window for debugging purposes, and it also was used on the new world Macs (B&W PMG3, PMG4, and iMac G3/G4 from what I can remember) for updating firmware.
