The tale of Leo4Allv3 and the black screen...

Not so long ago, there was Ambroos. He is an enthousiastic pc enthousiastic, and he's always been enthousiastic about OSX. He bought a new pc, and after a while Windows became boring. He looked some things up, downloaded iAtkos, followed the instructions from OSx86, and failed.

After doing some research (which he had done before) he found out his MSI P35 Neo isn't supported.

Great!

He gave up on finding a solution, and about three days ago he checked back to see if there was any progress!

And there was! He downloaded leo4allv3, used Theo's fix (for buffer thingys, after failing another time first), boots with cpus=1 and -v -f, and thought he was in.

He wasn't. After the kext loading the other file loading thing starts, then, he gets no screen (and monitor goes standby), but there is still some HDD activity for some minutes... He thinks it might be the video kexts, (he chose the default nVidia kexts in installation, MSI 8600GTS 256mb) but he doesn't know which kexts he has to replace it with...

But he had a brilliant idea! He logged on on his old insanelymac account and made a topic to ask all Hackintosh experts what he should do then...

...

TO BE CONTINUED!

If you have a suggestion for a continue of this story, please reply, I am sure Ambroos would really appreciate it!

Try to install without choosing a graphicdriver. I have a Gigabyte P35 card and a 8600GT. I have tried with the kext for nvidia and also nvinject 0.2.1 and without any. the last 2 make my computer boot but I only get 1024x768. the nvidia kext give me a black screen at boot.

So if I only could get a higher resolution.. ^_^

realtek is supported if you selected the only realtek kext (think it was 8179) driver. I'm in OSX now :) No quartz, and only 1024x768Just selected no video drivers. No audio eitherMuhahahahha!!! NVinstaller did it for me ^^ Quartz etc all working, all resos available!Only thing left to fix is sound ^^ Network and even bluetooth usb stickie all work! Thanks guys!(if anyone has suggestion of getting sound on MSI P35 Neo (realtek HD audio) let me know!)And another question.. How do i get the "at" thing typed? I can't figure it out! Most other options work!

find someone named Kabyl and his topic about MSI mobos and Asus laptops... you need to get your bios patched by him, otherwise you will have nightmares with MSI :hysterical:

you have an MSI mobo, which is known to have problematic bios (BAD BIOS issue related to acpi tables in bios and some other settings), thats why you are experiencing all these pain in the a$$ issue...

good luck...
