TommyT
Hi Everyone, I am trying to load the Kalway 10.5.2 distribution on a Toshiba Tecra M4. I appears from searching other posts that users have the M4 working (albeit not fully). When I boot from the install DVD, it crashes pretty much right after I initiate the install. In verbose mode there is a bunch of errors thrown. The couple lines that look relavent: - unrecognized device type\n"@SourceCache/IOPlatformPLuginFamily/IOPlatformPluginFamily -315..3/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin/AppleSMCPDRC.cpp:68 Debugger called: <Panic> ... whole bunch of gobbly goop after that line. Does anybody have any ideas what I need to do to get past this? I'm fairly new to this process and was hoping to convert this old (not used anymore) Intel Centrino machine into a decent Mac OS machine. Thanks! Specs on the M4: Mobile Intel 915PM Express Chipset Intel® Pentium® M 730 (1.6GHz 2MB L2 533MHz FSB), 40GB(Serial-ATA/5400rpm), 2048MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz SDRAM, CD-RW/DVD-ROM, nVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 6200 TE 64M (64MB), 14.1" TFT LCD at (1400 x 1050) native resolution (SXGA+), Bluetooth Antenna, Integrated Wi-Fi™ Intel PRO\Wireless 2200BG (802.11b/g) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104697-1052-kalway-on-tecra-m4-crashes-on-cd-boot/ Share on other sites
