Zakmann
I'm awaiting delivery of my first mac - iMac, 24", 2.4ghz, 4gb ram... Can anyone tell me if there is a probelm with cleaning these machines as my old PC has 7 cooling fans in it and is so dusty that I have to clean it out evern month or two... Hope I'm posting this in the right area lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101604-im-buying-a-new-imac-my-1st-mac/ Share on other sites
S.SubZero
Clean out your iMac as often as you clean out your television. (it's mostly a sealed unit) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101604-im-buying-a-new-imac-my-1st-mac/#findComment-725349 Share on other sites
sarahbau
Unfortunately I no longer have the picture I took of two iMac G4s back when I was a Mac Genius. One was kept in a clean environment (actually, I think it was the one we used back of house), and the other one was owned by a smoker. Smoke causes a lot of dust to stick to the insides of computers. Not only was the outside of the computer brown, but the inside was practically filled with dust. The other one was quite dust free inside. Basically, if you don't smoke near it, you shouldn't ever have to clean it.
