After about 30 min my ethernet connection drops , and then shows up as "cable unplugged" on my asus p5k-e motherboard.Looks like it is happening to everyone, read this posthttp://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry724299

Enable Ethernet LAN Boot in Bios, and restart, it'll boot Lan just press ESC and then just let it go to Leopard, might work. My lan doesn't work unless I enable Lan boot..

You need to type cpus=1 at boot for it to not drop. Same thing happens to me. I don't know the cause, and don't have a permanent fix unless you buy a USB network card.

The person above this can't read or something, as they're telling you something that will not help, it'll just take longer to boot.

You have a connection and it drops and won't come back without reboot. A lot of users are having this problem.

Just boot with cpus=1 and it'll be fine, but that's disabling your other cores, and it really sucks.

lol I said it might help :P, I've seen some people getting progress with enabling Lan Boot, it does take longer to boot, but it might fix the lan dropping problem.. booting with cpus=1 disables 1 core, according to hardware overview.. imo its better to sacrifice booting time over a processor core ..

any new ideas? i went into the bios and turned on "wake on lan" my net connection will now last more than an hour, maybe 12 to 24 hours before it drops and i get "network cable unplugged' maybe i should just buy a new nic card, what is compatible? can someone post a newegg link
