A complete noobie seeking advice

I am totally new to this.I did some reading in regards to hardware compatibility. So I went out and bought a MB with Intel P35 chipset, 2 hard drives( 1 intended for XP64, the other OSX) and Nvidia 8600GT card. The motherboard does support USB HD. I also bought a legal copy of OSX 10.5.

I installed XP64 already. Now I just need to learn to install OSX to the other HD and a boot record for dual boot system.

What distribution do I need to use to install? WHat do i need to prepare to install? Ivaguely understand that I need EFI prior to install but I don't know where EFI has to go.

Please pardon if I phrase the questions incorrectly. I just need some quick guidance. I am willing to stay in this for the long haul.
