Goz
Sorry, I haven't been around much. The bios version on the board is F4 (the latest). The 7xxx card is a 7600 but the system works well with 8xxx cards as well. The system is temporarily on hold Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101318-leopard-compatible-pc-for-sale/#findComment-725697 Share on other sites

Macshiba
The E2160 will not work with Vanilla kernel. I have that CPU, and it will not run with a any Vanilla kernel.Just because it's Dual Core doesn't mean it will run a vanilla kernel. The E2160 will not work with Vanilla kernel. kramer2k
I used a 2180 with the vanilla kernel, the 2160 should work with vanilla kernel, provided that one is using v8 of EFI Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101318-leopard-compatible-pc-for-sale/#findComment-728057 Share on other sites
Macshiba
Just because one version works doesn't mean the other does. I've used a 2160 on 3 machines, and neither one has booted correctly with a Vanilla kernel, and yes EFI v8 has been used every time. There are problems with some processors which cause them to not boot properly with a vanilla kernel. I bought the 2160 to OC and to use Vanilla, but really using Vanilla is not a huge deal, it's not even needed.
