Fran101_ca
Ok, finally i've had a little bit of success, I did the dd image transfer on my decltop pc running Amd Athlon xp 1600+ and loaded my spare HD wit the mac os image now when i put it in my usb 2 external case and connect it to my laptop making it my primary drive the grey background appears with the apple logo but tells me to restart. So far ive tried, -x,-F, and nothing seems to get past that screen. Also this time when I do -v i get a full screen worth of info but it freezes. Update heres what I got when i did debug=0x144: panic (cpu 0 caller 0xc01a0893): bdevvp failed: open debugger called: (panic) Then it says frame 0xc6cd3e60: pc 0xc0124b5c...... _panic _bdevvp _vfs_mountroot _bsd_init _kernal_bootstrap _call continuation then after all that says invalid frame pointer oxc6cd3fd4 kdp_.poll: no debugger device Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1007-installed-mac-os-x86-boot-up-problems-wit-compaq/#findComment-7569 Share on other sites

And if so, how can I take screen shot of info and view within safemode? errr must I type everything out. judy
Do I need to type out everything everything??? the Frame xxxxxxxx ?? Well, make a screen shot (yes, an analog one). Not sure what you mean with the "com.apple.iokit.CHDProf" line, but if this appears in the backtrace, move this kext out of your /System/Library/Extensions folder (if it exists). I guess it's called something like *CHUD*.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1007-installed-mac-os-x86-boot-up-problems-wit-compaq/#findComment-17761 Share on other sites

panda2008
This thread might be dead but has anyone had any luck installing OSX on a Compaq R4000? If so I would love some direction. Thanks! sunonomo
Use Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd.iso Pick one of the kernels that supports AMD make sure you select an AMD patch. Reboot use Katana to get video use Drives_For_X200m to get wireless going and power management (and sound if you're lucky) (you should download this first since you need it to get wireless going....)
