So I decided to install Leopard on my laptop using iAtkos, wiped my hard disk clean as I have everything backed up and set it as a Mac OS X Extended (Journaled).

Ran the installation, after five minutes the disc stopped running and the bar froze...waited half hour just to see if it would kick back in but unforunately I got a error message saying the disc cannot be read, so I checked the disc even though I had just unwrapped it.

Tried installing couple more times, same thing happened.

I just want go back to Windows but I can't seem to figure out how to set the hard disk as a Windows format (NTFS) so I can install Vista.

Many Thanks.

If you would just reinstall Windows, insert the Windows Vista dvd in the dvd drive, start the computer with the dvd, and start the installer.

At some point in the Windows installer you have to select where to install Windows, select the drive and choose 'drive options (advanced)' right below the hard disk list.

Here you can choose to format the drive, and install Windows.

Hope I could help you out.

Thank you all for your help but forunately I found a Norton Ghost disk which formatted and converted my hard drive back to NTFS.

It's a shame about not being able to use Leopard on my laptop even though I know it is possible but after what has happened I'm not sure I want to go all through it again. <_<

If you want to play with installing leo, but want an easy way to go back to Vista whenever you want go buy yourself an external usb enclosure and a nice big hard drive to go in it.... cheap as dirt these days. Now get Vista setup just the way you like it... all you apps installed... all your settings just like you like 'em. Now partition half of that external hard drive NTFS, leave the rest blank for now. Grab yourself a copy of Acronis True Image, make the recovery CD, and image your Vista drive per the instructions and save it to your snappy new external. Now you can wipe that internal hard drive all you want and always be able to easily go back to Vista by booting the CD and restoring the image. You can use that free space you left on the drive to do what ever you want. You can install leo on that, or you can install leo on the internal and use that to image your leo install once you get it working. Gives you great flexibility.
