  1. Hello Everybody, First Hack here, and I have a fresh vanilla install with Mojave 10.14.2 closely following this vanilla installation: https://hackintosh.gitbook.io/-r-ha...p-guide/config.plist-per-hardware/coffee-lake I was surprised how well it worked initially with the above suggested settings. Only a few minor things (USB SSDT, signing the Bluetooth Kext, and switching from VritualSMC to FakeSMC) needed to be adjusted to get were I am currently. I built this machine to be a video editing/photography workstation. And so far pretty happy but would really appreciate if anyone has any knowledge or solutions with the few problems I'm still experiencing: 1) FIXED (SEE COMMENT BELOW) Sleep issues waking up from sleep (maybe due to the ASMEDIA USB controller) -FIX WAS UNRELATED TO ASMEDIA CONTROLLER BUT DUE TO PREFERENCE OF "ALLOW BLUETOOTH DEVICE TO WAKE THIS COMPUTER"/ AN EXTERNAL USB 3 to SATA Cable for Hot plugging SSD's/2.5" HDD's. With USB to SATA adapter unplugged/ Bluetooth preference changed, Mac now sleeps uninterrupted. 2) The ASMEDIA USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports ejecting after sleep 3) Am I currently using the correct setup for graphic acceleration with a connector-less ID for the UHD 630 and Radeon RX580? Specifically for optimized performance with FCPX. 4) Normal Power Consumption? I've attached my config.plist, ioreg.zip from RUNME app, SSDT-UIAC.aml (created using Rehabman Method), and my DSDT.aml (from this post for the Maximus x code courtesy of @MaLd0n ) If anyone has the time to take a look and maybe shed some light if I've done something wrong that be awesome. And for anyone looking to build a similar machine, I would highly recommend it, and feel free to use these settings. If these minor last things are addressed, this is a really solid hack. Cheers, Shark Detailed below is What is Not Working, The Build/BIOS Setup/Install Process, and What is Working. NOT WORKING: 1) Sleep: If I put the computer to sleep, or it falls asleep on it's own, it wakes up immediately after sleep. I’m getting these errors in terminal trying to figure this out using the following two commands: Command: pmset -g sleep 10 (sleep prevented by powerd, sharingd) Command: log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason" localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) AppleACPIPlatformPower Wake reason: XHC Here are my current settings: Clover: Boot -> Darkwake=0 (tried 1 and 2 as well) Energy Saver Settings: Nothing Checked EXCEPT Put Hard disk to sleep when possible Would like Power Nap Enabled for the purpose of Time Machine, but doesn’t seem to be an option with Hackintosh? Using Terminal I have disabled the following: sudo pmset -a ttyskeepawake 0 sudo pmset -a proximitywake 0 sudo pmset -a standby 0 sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0 2) USB 3.1 Gen 2 For the 2.0/3.0 Intel Chipset, I’ve tried both the @headkaze Intel FB-Patcher v 1.6.8 and @RehabMan instructions on creating a SSDT. The FB-Patcher did not work completely. So I continued with @RehabMan method, created a SSDT, and sacrificed 2 x usb 2.0 ports and 1 internal RGB LED header to reach my 15 port max with 3.0 speeds on all SS ports. The ASMEDIA Ports work OOB with full 3.1 speeds. However the Eject issue can only be resolved by using an App like Jettison. And using that app doesn’t solve the sleep issue, computer still wakes. I’d rather figure out why the disks keep ejecting on sleep and if fixing issue #1 would resolve issue #2 or vice versa? Do I possibly need a power management ssdt? And how would I create one for the ASMEDIA chip? I've now tried using the attached DSDT.aml in my Patched folder. I can now see it's working as my PCI devices in System Profiler are now populating (before it was stating no PCI devices). However still experiencing sleep and eject issues. Ioreg Reads for the ASMEDIA 3.1 controller as: The 3.1 controllers for the back USB gen 2 ports are controlled by: RP05@1C,4/IOPP/PXSX@0/PXSX@01000000 PRT1@01100000 (type C) (3.1 speeds) PRT2@01200000 (type A) (3.1 speeds) PRT3@01300000 (type C) (2.0 speeds) PRT4@01400000 (type A) (2.0 speeds) The 1 x 3.1 type C port on the front panel is controlled by: RP07@1C,6/IOPP/PXSX@0/PXSX@01000000 HS01@00300000 (2.0 speed) SS01@00100000 (3.1 Speed) There is also a SS02@0010000 under this controller, and as far as I can tell it does not have a function. Is there a way to disable, such as when creating an Intel Chipset SSDT? 3) FINAL CUT ISSUES/ GRAPHIC ACCELERATION: Currently it doesn’t appear that the IGPU UHD 630 is doing much in iStats. In Apple System Profile/ Activity Monitor GPU window I only see RX580, no UHD 630. Is this how it should be? Or is that what connector-less ID should look like? With FCPX there is no crashing, glitchy exports, or rendering issues, however not sure if Graphic acceleration is being used to its fullest potential. The IGPU uses 5-8% Memory/ Processor when playing/scrubbing in timeline. And only 5-10% of the IGPU Memory (no processor) is used during any render or export of footage. The RX580 is still doing most of the hard work. My Bruce X times are quick 14-18 seconds, but I’m curious as to why the IGPU isn’t doing any of the lifiting. Is this expected? I'm pretty happy with how Lightroom and Final Cut are performing, I just want to make sure I've set the hardware up correctly. 4) Power Consumption I have a general understanding of building computers, but not an expert especially with first time building a Hackintosh, overclocking, timings, voltages, etc… In HWMonitor the CPU Package Core reads blank, CPU Package Total is anywhere from 3.52w to 4.8w, the CPU Package DRAM is anywhere from 1.12 – 5.08. Is this normal, or high? My temperatures seem fine and idle between 45-57 C, And Max shortly at 85 during stress tests. So just not sure if the CPU Power Consumption HWmonitor reporting is normal or abnormal. I've attached two HWmonitor screenshots 1 normal idle cpu, one while FCP rendering. 2. Hi guys, My current build is working flawlessly under High Sierra except for one thing : my Roccat Kone EMP mouse won't work after waking up from sleep. I have to disconnect/reconnect it to get it to work again. Other mice (less sophisticated) do work upon wake. However , the Roccat mouse doesn't have any issue under Windows 10 or on an iMac running SL 10.6.3 . I wish I could try under Sierra ... Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help Here are my build details and a backup from the ioreg: Mobo: ASRock Z370 ExtremePro4 - CPU: i7-8700k - RAM: 16GB G.SKILL DDR4 - GPU: NVidia GTX1080 - SSD: Crucial M4 512GB Kexts used: AppleALC.kext CodecCommander.kext FakeSMC_ACPISensors.kext FakeSMC_CPUSensors.kext FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext FakeSMC_LPCSensors.kext FakeSMC.kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext Lilu.kext USBInjectAll.kext XHCI-200-series-injector.kext i7-8700k OSX.ioreg.zip
  3. Budget Workstation MacOS 10.14.1 build: z370 AORUS Gaming 5 - i5-8600K - RX 580 - UHD 630 flawless iGPU/dGPU integration, fast FCPX editing/rendering, great overall performance for ~$1200 / ~£1000 I'm gonna come straight out and admit it - I used newb tools which are considered taboo on InsanelyMac, and so this isn't so much an installation guide as it is a green flag to anyone considering the same hardware. My first and previous Hackintosh project was just over ten years ago and this site was massively helpful, so this is my (very small) way of giving back. EFI DIRECTORY http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=97606131925137056003 HARDWARE CPU: Intel i5-8600K 3.6GHz hexacore (contains UHD 630 iGPU) CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock Slim (no paste needed, and fan facing front) Mobo: GIGABYTE z370 AORUS Gaming 5 (WIFI) RAM: 1x 8GB CORSAIR Vengeance LPX C16 2666MHz (in first slot) GFX Card: Sapphire RX 580 NITRO+ SE SATA: used ports 0, 1, 3, 5 (HDD problems when connected to port 4) HDD: generic DVD Drive: generic PSU: EVGA 500W Semi Modular (but you should get 650W!) Case: CoolerMaster CM590 III Fans: 2x stock case fans (one sucky on front, one blowy on back), 3x be quiet! BL046 120mm fans (two blowy on top, one sucky on front). Airflow near-perfectly balanced. ADVICE With the Clover configuration, you want to pay close attention to all things relating to graphics. There are some specific settings for ACPI, Boot, Devices and Graphics which should be copied exactly in order to get the iGPU and dGPU to work in perfect harmony. For instance, make sure you use ig-platform-id 59120003 rather than 59120000 if you want FCPX to be usable. With the right settings, FCPX will not only run, but run flawlessly. I was not able to figure out how to make NVRAM/PRAM behave itself, and I got errors when I tried to issue relevant commands. As a result, I could not get iMessage to work properly. It worked precisely once, on my first installation attempt. This Clover configuration therefore has no consideration whatsoever toward iMessage reliability - if you can get NVRAM/PRAM working properly on this hardware, please do edit the config as you see fit. Onboard WiFi does not work. There is no driver for it. I'm using wired ethernet to a bridge router as it was cheaper than getting a compatible PCI card. Audio is working well after I installed the z370 audio patch, then the ALC1220 codecs, then AppleALC. With kexts for generic 3rd party SATA and generic 3rd party eSATA, my HDDs and DVD drive work perfectly well. Sleep/Wake functions run perfectly. iCloud functions run perfectly. Shutdown leaves the mobo LEDs on, annoyingly. Overall, this system appears to run about as well under MacOS 10.14 Mojave as it does under Windows 7. I would solidly recommend this build to anyone looking to build a computer for workstation purposes, on a budget.
  4. Hey Everybody, I was hoping that the recently released BIOS update for the ASUS Maximus X Code (version 1801) would resolve my two remaining issues of sleep/ USB 3.1 drives ejecting from the ASMEDIA controller. I have a seperate thread here describing the problem in detail: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337048-almost-successful-asus-maximus-x-code-i7-8700k-amd-rx-580/ As of yet it the update hasn't resolved the issue. But could someone clarify if a new DSDT.aml file is needed once upgrading a motherboard's BIOS? I am currently using the one from this thread: I've already created a working SSDT file for my 15 USB ports, this is more in relation to the ASMEDIA 3.1 ports and sleep not working. Cheers, Shark
  5. First time trying an hackintosh, and I've been stuck like this for days now, nothing I try seems to have any effect. I can't even get the installer to launch.. Pre-Installazione Mojave

Grazie anticipatamente.
  8. Hello everybody, for a long time I was just a passive forum member, but now I have to ask you for help in this forum. I already have a working hackintosh (as of 2013), but now I need a bit more power for my photo and video editing. Based on the reviews and various compatibility lists on the internet, I bought a new system 5 weeks ago, on which I want to use Clover to install macOS 10.13.6. The configuration is in my profile. Windows will be installed later and doesn't matter right now. I've read a lot of tutorials on Mainboard, Coffee Lake, NVIDIA & Co. and just can't get it to work. I have tried the great guides of Quattrofx and also of Hackintosher and many others several times - unfortunately no success. Currently, the following problem appears: First installation screen goes through to about two minutes remaining time, then automatic reboot. After the first reboot, I boot to the M.2 via the Clover stick so that the installation can continue and an error message appears that the installation can not be completed. = Restart The following steps I have taken so far: BIOS version and configuration adapted several times. Many guides work with the version F7h, which is no longer available as download. In this version you should set the Windows 8/10 features to "Other OS". I have now the latest version F10 installed (I have also tested all former versions), where you should put the setting to "Windows 8/10" according to a comment under a guide (not "Windows 8/10 WHQL"). Various different sticks tried, several times the installation file from the AppStore loaded, sticks in the terminal and via apps recreated etc., PRAM and NVRAM reset, ... I attached my last EFI and screenshots Here is my hardware in detail: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming Intel i7-8700K GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming 16GB DDR4-2400 Corsair Vengeance LPX Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500GB M.2 After 5 weeks of countless tries and tests I just can not get on and need help. Thanks in advance for your help!!! screen insanelymac.zip EFI insanelymac.zip

  10. Hi all guys I need your help and I hope you can help me I took the road to install High Sierra on my new build and now I have some doubt / difficulty I do not know how to solve. My configuration: 8700K Asrock Z370 Professional Gaming i7 AMD RX580 Nitro+ 8GB First I created the usb pendrive and I used Clover with the following configurations: Bootflag: dart=0 -v Kext: Bios Setting: VT-d = Disabled Share Memory = 128MB IGPU Multi-Monitor = Enabled XHCI Hand-off = Enabled SMBIOS: iMac18,3 So far no problem, it started successfully, I initialized the hdd in APFS and I ran the installation. Once finished, it started and I made the first configuration successfully. At this point I configured Clover the same way as the installation: Bootflag: dart=0 disablegfxfirmware shikigva=4 -rad4200 darkwake=8 Devices: Graphics: Kernel and Kext Patches: SMBIOS: iMac18,3 Kext: I reboot and start without problems, but I know there is some problem to solve ... for example, the video card seems to recognize it but if I run a benchmark with "Novabench" I noticed that the GPU is recognized as 1GB: With "WhateverGreen.kext" and "RadeonDeInit=Disabled": || || || I tried to delete "WhateverGreen.kext" and "RadeonDeInit=Enabled" and I recognize the card differently but the same problem presents itself: || || || Why is it recognized by 1GB instead of 8GB? While on System Profiler is recognized by 8GB .... I'm doing something wrong? I tried to enable also "Hardware Encoding & HEVC Support" but I noticed a detail that I do not know if it's right or not (Hardware Info "MacX Video Converter Pro"): Without "WhateverGreen.kext" and "RadeonDeInit=Enabled": With "WhateverGreen.kext" and "RadeonDeInit=Disabled": [COMING SOON SCREENSHOT] Is it normal that this occurs? Which one is correct? I'm going completely in confusion I'm trying to figure out if I need to make any other changes to the system, if I add some other patches to make it work properly but I do not know where to check. I'm trying to configure the DSDT but DSDT Editor and MaciASL do not work, they do not open the DSDT.aml file generated by AIDA64. Do you know how to give me a hand? I'm banging my head for 2 days I thank you in advance for the help and I apologize for my english I hope I was clear

I'm more than happy to help where possible but please read through the entire guide & u n i b e a s t page before contacting me. It may look complicated at first but it's really quite simple. Also I'd prefer comments on this page rather than PM's since other people that may be struggling can read it. There will be a Mountain Lion guide coming sometime after release for those interested. Hardware spec: core i3-2330m (4 thread dual core) hd3000 graphics (8086 0116) (note this is the 0116 revision not the 0112 you might read about for different HD3000's) Atheros AR9285 wi-fi (168C 002B) Realtek ALC269 sound (10EC 0269) Realtek ethernet (10EC 8136) 4GB RAM (upgraded mine to 8GB) What works: Graphics with full QI / CE. Wi-fi Touchpad & keyboard Webcam Bluetooth Audio output (speakers & headphones) App store Battery sensor (stability issuse - see note 3 below) HDMI Ethernet I haven't tried to get these working since I don't need them (may be a simple fix, I wouldn't know): Card reader Mic (unkown - i'll update if someone tests) HDMI audio And I don't know about sleep. It tries to sleep, goes into s3, comes out of it, sits there stupidly with a blank screen then when you press the power button goes back into s3 and comes back on to normal with the screen on. No idea. Working on sleep but may take a while. For anyone interested in helping see bottom of guide. A couple of things to note before you start: 1. If you don't have a mac / hack then you need to install the iatkos way first then do the following on that install. 2. If you want to install windows on the same partition you need to patch the u n i be a s t installer so you can install OS X on an MBR partition. See step 3 in the following guide: http://www.macbreake...-partition.html 3. After extended use I have found stability issues around the battery sensor (KP's). When you install kexts using kext utility below I suggest you ignore the files "AppleACPIBatteryManager" & "AppleSmartBatteryManager". I will fix this when I get round to it but probably not for a while. 4. Open the attachment in OS X not windows / linux (otherwise folder structure will probably look screwed). 5.If you have the i5 / nvidia graphics card combination: a. you need to boot with the PCIRootID=0 kernel flag. b If it boots and you see a blue flash then a black screen plug a HDMI monitor in to get through setup. c. copy the 8.3 smbios to your /extra folder (overwrite the one that's there) The guide: 1. Go to the tonymacx86 website follow instructions for & install u n i b e a s t (note if your going to put windows on the same partiton when creating partitions in disk utility use "master boot record" instead of "guid partition table") 2. Follow all steps of the u n i b e a s t installer up to and including step 3. (don't do step 4). This should leave you at the OS X desktop on your z370, then: 3. Install latest chameleon (included in attachment) 4. Install all attatched kexts using kext utility (just drag & drop them onto it) (included in attachment) (Red & orange ones are required to boot, the rest are drivers) 5. Copy extra folder to your root directory (now using smbios from 8.2 edited with smboardproduct key from 8.1 to get full hdmi support) 6. Repair permissions & reboot. On reboot go into BIOS and disable legacy USB support (and enable virtualisation if you want it) . N.B if you get boot0 error its a simple fix, see here: http://www.macbreake...oot0-error.html and ignore anything to do with obtaining the boot1h file - its included (you'll have to re-enable legacy usb support to get back into the installer) 7. Update system 8. Reinstall the blue labeled kexts using kext utility & repair permissions (this will have to be done after any system updates) 9. Delete nullcpupowermanagement.kext (in /system/library/extensions) (this MUST be reinstalled before any system updates) 10. Reboot and enjoy! Generic update information, as new ones are released I'll test them and report if they work (up-to 10.7.4 is fine): 1. Install nullcpupowermanagement.kext using kext utility (you WILL get kernel panic on reboot if you don't do this). 2. Reboot. 3. Update system as normal. 4. Use kext utility to reinstall the blue kexts. 5. Repair disk permissions in disk utility. 6. Reboot. 6. Delete nullcpupowermanagement.kext from /system/library/extensions 7. Reboot & enjoy! Here she is up and running, perfectly stable just missing this final touches: If anyone manages to get HDMI audio I'd be very interested to know how you managed it. Information about sleep development (incase anyone is clued up enough to help): I have sleep but it seems a little temperamental depending on how long its been running. How I did it: Opened console (in utilities) sent the laptop to the pseudo-sleep it goes into then checked console. The devices calling wake were "EHC1 EHC2 GLAN". So now I extracted my DSDT when into it and removed all the ACPI code for these devices. This has left me with working sleep and apparently no affected devices (still checking everything over). The problem now is that once the laptops been running for a while sleep no longer works and when you try for it, it appears to switch off the monitor then panic instead. I know also know I cannot simply remove said elements from the DSDT if I want the devices to work when coming out of sleep. I'll work on this more when I get round to it. *************************Old way using iatkos - for making u n i b e a s t only - not recomended************************* 1. Get a copy of iAtkos L2 (runs quicker restored onto a USB but from DVD will do) 2. Check SATA set to AHCI in BIOS 3. Plug USB keyboard & mouse in 4. Boot iAtkos and install with the following options: a. chameleon bootloader 2.1 b. fakeSMC c. disabler d. RTC e evoreboot f. AHCI SATA g. PS/2 h. atheros AR9285 (unless changing wi-fi card) 5. When the installer restarts shut down the computer before it gets chance to boot again (at BIOS screen) For the following 2 steps I removed the hard drive and put it into another mac but it should be possible in the terminal (boot with -s): 6. Install smbios.plist for macbook pro 8.3 (NOT 8.1 - it won't work) (use chameleon wizard to obtain) 7. (may be optional but I did it) Install latest chameleon bootloader (2.1 r1814) to mac partition (check graphics_enabler=yes) 8. Repair permissions (use disk utility on iAtkos boot DVD) 9. Boot the laptop and you should have full graphics support and see the initial mac screen. 01 Lenovo Mac.zip

I've seen others post screenshots of their 8700K being recognized, but mine didn't end up that way and I dunno why. Regardless, everything seems to work fine so far. Ran Valley, did some coding, etc. See GitHub repo for full config details. Successfully upgraded to APFS post-install.
  13. ***************************************************************************************************************************************************** Generic update information lower down ***************************************************************************************************************************************************** *****Last updated: 16/7/2012***** This guide is how to install a vanilla copy of OS X which you have created yourself, it requires a little more work than one-click installers but leaves you with a better system. Please note this is the initial guide so if I've missed something let me know. For those looking for a one-click installer I suggest you try myHack with a combination of the included kexts & extra folder. For those wishing to update there Lion install they'll have to wait for ML to be available in the app store then follow the generic update information below. Having said that this is untested by me and I suggest searching the forum first for advice on updating Lion to ML. I've had a few people contact me for help. I'm more than happy to help where possible but please read through the entire guide & installer page before contacting me. It may look complicated at first but it's really quite simple. Also I'd prefer comments on this page rather than PM's since other people that may be struggling can read it. Wi-fi Touchpad & keyboard Webcam Bluetooth Audio output (speakers & headphones) App store HDMI Ethernet What doesn't: Sleep Battery Sensor Card Reader HDMI audio I've had no luck in making the system stable with a battery sensor and it currently won't wake from sleep (on ML, it would on Lion), I don't really have time to work on these issues and I don't require them so unless someone else picks up development then the issues won't be solved for the foreseeable future. A couple of things to note before you start: 1. To prepare the installer you need a working copy of OS X, this can be done in a virtual machine or by installing an older version first, see here: http://www.insanelym...l=&fromsearch=1 2. Open the attachment in OS X not windows / linux (otherwise folder structure wil look screwed). 3. If you get boot0 error its a simple fix, see here: http://www.macbreake...oot0-error.html The guide: 1. Use the following tutorial up to and including part 4: http://thetecherra.c...oshosx86-video/ 2. Install the latest version of chameleon (included in the attachment) to your usb stick. 3. Copy the extra folder for your z370 model to the root of your usb stick. 4. Continue from part 5 of the above guide up to and including part 7 (note you need to use the boot-loader on the usb stick to boot into your OS X install initially. 5. Install the latest version of chameleon to your HDD (included in attachment). 6. Drag and drop the kexts in the attachment onto kext utility - NOTE: if you have the i5/NVIDIA combination ignore the AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB kext. 7. Copy the extra folder for your z370 model to the root of your hard drive. 8. Delete NullCPUPowerManagement from /System/Library/Extensions. 9. Fix permissions and reboot - you should have a working copy of OS X. I've been using it for a few days and haven't had any issues so I would be confident in saying its stable. Generic update information, as new ones are released I'll test them and report if they work: 1. Reboot & enjoy! z370 ML.zip
