1. Hi all, I use this setup (X79 Deluxe - 4930K - HD6870) as an audio rig. It all works fine, I'm only experiencing stability issues with everything USB (audio sound card, MIDI controllers). Logic Pro X keeps randomly losing sync with them. I installed GenericUSBXHCI (v1.2.11) from the rampagedev X79 dmg. Has anyone successfully used other USB kexts? I mostly use USB 2 ports. Thanks!

x79 Deluxe - UPDATED

This is not exactly complete guide step by step, but after read this you should install without problems. What's you need? 8GB flash drive or partition on your HDD What's not working? onboard WiFi (kernel panic) For create USB/Partition use this method with awesome automatic script: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298521-easy-yosemite-1010-usb-installer-updated/ After you create USB/Partition install Clover (r2696 and newest) to the USB/Partition and modify config.plist boot section adding this arguments: <key>Arguments</key> <string>kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x2000</string> After you modified config.plist copy mandatory kexts to /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.10/ on your USB/Partition FakeSMC.kext Now you are finished with prepare of the installer media. Then you boot from install disk, you really need is disable WiFi 802.11ac in BIOS/Motherboard devices. If you don't disable this, it means you don't have a chance to boot because kernel will panic. (Here's problem with WiFi ac controller?) After you install Yosemite, don't forget to install Clover and move kexts folder from install media to EFI on your system. Post-install need install this kext with kext helper. GenericUSBXHCI.kext (USB3 support) IOBluetoothFamily.kext (My kext for Asus BT4.0) RealtekRTL8111.kext AppleIntelE1000e.kext Tat's all and your x79 Deluxe based build could working perfectly. I hope I can find a way to do functional WiFi, but after trying id injection I still have a problem with kernel is panic. Stay tuned for update. All files you need it in this pack: https://mega.co.nz/#!ZF0mVAxa!e7XXek37I9lsBU3Mskwwy0D6sE2-EjK5W0_MGBUDBVk

4. Hi all, new user here. I followed the shilohh guide i7-4930k-asus-rampage-iv-extreme-32gb-ram-gtx-770-4gb-success(and some other guides fresh installing) and everything works great but my cpu is flat at 1.2Mhz. I tried every guide here, in olarila and in "others" but nothing works. Surely I'm doing something wrong but I cannot guess what it is. Also tried nullcpu etc.. My specs are: Rampage IV Extreme i7 3930k Gtx 980 Mac OS X 10.12.6 I made my own SSDT too. C1E is enabled. I leave my Clover Folder here in case someone can shed some light because I'm starting to be desperate. Thank you in advance Cheers CLOVER.zip

6. Hi, I'm pretty new to osx. back in the days i've installed osx on pc hardware, but it's long ago. Now i want to install it on my existing computer. Specs: Asus Sabertooth X79, Intel i7-3960X, Ati Radeon Sapphire TRI-X R9 290, Intel 520 SSD. No matter what i've tried, it ends without luck. Made a usb install drive on PC with transmac (yosemite and el capitan tried both) used differend boot args/flags. dart=0, cpus=1 npci=0x2000,usbbusfix=yes, rootless=0 in different order and combinations It hangs at PCI Configuration begin or Still waiting for root device. is my hardware incompatible? I want to use OSX to play with Logic X. I wouldn't mind to buy a new mainboard or videocard, but i like my cpu, because i use it for photoshop and rendering. Any ideas, or can someone help me out here? Thanks a lot.
7. Clover keeps looping back to its self when I click on the HDD for it to boot post install. What am I doing wrong? I am using the latest version and this is for my x79 system.
8. Hi all, I am trying to load OSX Mavericks onto my new build, but it wont boot from the SSD after it installs OSX from the USB. I have used the ##### and Chameleon methods with the same result from both. I am not a programmer, but am far from computer illiterate. I have tried various boot flags in various combinations (-v, -f, -x, GE=No, PCIRootUID=0|1, cpus=1, dsdt=no, npci=0x2000|0x3000, and all that fun stuff) but none of them seem to work. Could anyone offer advice on what I should do? 9.

11. Okay, so this system has me scratching my head like no other, it *should* work fine. I have spent all day going mad trying to fix it, and have business commitments riding on it working on Tuesday. Specs are as follows: i7-3930k @ stock x79-UP4 8GB RAM (2x4GB) GTX 560ti 4Drives as follows: 1xOCZ Agility 3 2x 1TB drives (one is Windows 7 one is 2 partitions with the first one carrying a vanilla ML for restore and Chimera for all systems) 1x3TB data drive with 1TB Time Machine So I wake up one morning from leaving Win7 on all night to see the system had apparently restarted and Chimera had failed to load, saying: Memory Allocation Error 0xdeadbeef 0x0 etc etc I think, oh well, and go and get my Chimera backup DVD, booting with: -v -f PCIRootUID=0 cpus=1 USBBusFix=Yes npci=0x3000 as usual. Hard reset as soon as it leaves Chimera. So I put in the ML USB and try to boot that. Same result. Memtest checks out but just in case I take out one RAM card to see if it's a 4GB bug. Doesn't help. What else I have tried: Remove all USB items disable LAN and USB3 Disconnect all HDDs but the SSD Disconnect all HDDs and the SSD (leaving just the ML USB incase it was trying to load corrupt kexts from the SSD) Remove front panel connectors and switch SATA ports. Reformat USB and install MyHack and Vanilla OSX 10.8.2 from a Mac Mini Reset BIOS and disable C1 C3/C6, Intel VT/VT-d, set AHCI and so on all over again. Take SSD over to Mac and run Disk repair and permissions repair over them (0 errors on both). All of them resulted in a hard reset as soon as I had finished entering instructions to Darwin, the only exception is the one time I got it to verbose load early on and it then hard reset at the end of verbose before the black screen and mouse would usually come up. Its a fairly clean install kext wise. Used myhack for the original, then used ##### and added LAN (Intel), Audio (ALC 892 which still didn't work), NullCPU Pwr Mgmt kext and Voodoo TSC Sync for multicore support. SMBIOS is Mac 4,1 I think. Pulling my hair out as to why it won't even boot the myHack installer... and I thought I was pretty OSX experienced. The original system ran great and no changes have been made really.
12. Hi to all! I have been reading your forum for months and I must thank you for all the help so far. And…. this is my first post. The past 6-7 months my interest about hackintosh rekindled. I managed fairly easy (thanx to forum support!) to setup OSX on a q9550 coe2quad on an MSI p45 platinum with 8gb ram. First I put on a mavericks zone since I had no mac to access the app store. Downloaded el Capitan and I went straight to a vanilla install which worked like a dream. 1st try all working. Then sierra went out, upgraded it, liked it and fresh installed it on a SSD. Since then the system is working like a charm! But …. This is not my main machine. I have a: CPU: e5 2670 v1 Motherboard: x79 taken from a Lenovo Eraser X700 (ridiculous I know!!!) RAM: 16GB gskill GPU: XFX 280X ……-probably one of the worst combination of components I could choose for hackintosh -….. But it is steady and super fast with my Win10 installation. I also occasionally replace the XFX with a 9600GT for testing purposes when hackintoshing… 16 core on Sierra is the main goal. So I am struggling for months.(ok when i manage to find some free time to experiment) 3 major problems 1. The system when it boots with clover kills all USB ports and goes to “waiting for boot device”.no keyboard, no mouse and no USB boot disk. With chameleon cpus=1 fixes the problem but not in clover. Also npci=0x2000 is needed when booting with 280X but not with 9600GT I have read many many articles about such problems but nothing seems to work. I think I need a tailored solution but I still do not have the skills. 2. The well known XFX ROM problem. But I found some posts where load VBios is working. still, clover do not recognize my ASUS roms….what am i doing wrong? 3. It never recognized any HDD as a boot disk. None! Chameleon , clover,GUI, MBR nothing. I am able to boot ONLY from USB sticks. this i think can be left for later but i am writing it down in case it points somewhere I am not going to list all the testing I have done, just where I am now. (before all below, I tried hundreds of Yosemite and el Capitan installations) - I managed to install Yosemite zone with chameleon and the 9600GT on. Works great although a bit heavy. But I need the latest OSX and my xfx on if possible - I installed clover (along with chameleon) and managed to boot with it on legacy -not UEFI. - I downloaded sierra from appstore and started the upgrade process so now I have a partition “macOS installer” - I created a sierra USB boot disk - and returned to using my XFX280X cause with 9600GT I can ‘t boot with UEFI and off course this is the card I want to use… obviously. Booting UEFI from SIERRA USB I can : a. Select the sierra installation partition on my Yosemite HDD. with cpus=1 + npci=0x2000 it loads to SIERRA installation screen in full 1920x1200 res, but my USBs are DEAD and I have no mouse or keyboard to click CONTINUE!!! I tried all ports and 2 USB extensions I have . Nothing, all dead. Unfortunately, my cheap chinese PCie USB 3 card is dead. Could this be a solution I don’t know. I also have tried all clover possible settings. I am really sorry I don’t post one by one, but this has been done through various weeks and I am lost into million of retries and configurations. If can get pass this problem I think I will manage to put the correct DDST and have a working system. But I am out of ideas. b. Select Sierra installation USB with cpus=1 and npci=0x2000 which results in …dead USB ports…. Back to zero On both situations I have tried PCIRootUID 1/0 UseKernelCache, USBBusFIX but nothing changes. I pasted FakeSMC.kext to /Clover/Kexts/10.11 and 10.10 Tried Fakecpuid as well but I get a panic i also tried to load Vbios, put some ASUS 280X roms , renaming them to 1002-6798.rom in /EFI/CLOVER/ROM but clover doesn’t seem to read them since I can’t see any details on Graphics settings screen. Ok i understand this is kind of chaotic but I really feel I need some help here. So If anybody has any ideas or suggestions on how to proceed(or start fresh with a certain target in mind(!!)) with this thing , I would be really grateful. thanx in advance and sorry for my English
13. Do you know exactly which parts to get for your machine? Working on a budget? How do you know if your parts will work with OS X with minimal fuss? This thread is dedicated to helping you with your purchasing requirements! Here's how it works. RampageDev has kindly put together a pricing guide from NewEgg for three rigs at three approximate price points: Baseline, Deluxe, Ultra, and Killer. Baseline gets you a powerful rig, suitable for nearly everything you'll ever need to do on your hackintosh for day-to-day useage. Deluxe gets you more performance, and Ultra gets you into the maxed out, the top-of-the-line, and nearly all the bells-and-whistles territory. And last, but certainly not least, Killer gets you everything you could want - minus the kitchen sink! These rigs are nearly hassle free, or at least as close as you can get with OSX on PC components. Feedback is, of course, always welcome! BASELINE: Baseline2.pdf DELUXE: Deluxe.pdf ULTRA: Ultra.pdf KILLER: Coming Soon! as one final note: pricing will vary by many factors, with the most volatile of those being storage devices and RAM. These are guides and not price quotes. You may find your prices to be slightly higher or slightly lower, but each price point will remain CLOSE to their targets.
14. GA-X79-UP4; i7 3820; 32gb RAM; Nvidia 970 Trying to upgrade my working Sierra 10.12.6 to High Sierra 10.13.3. My previous hack is based on Rampagedevs x79.dmg. I've tried several combinations of dropping MATS/BGRT table from ACPI fixes which is recommended for Gigabyte boards and also checked the "fix headers" option there. I've included my zipped Clover folder from EFI. Each try ends with Mach Reboot. Any help appreciated and thank you in advance.

DSDT for X79 Motherboards

For the past few week my friends and I have been developing DSDT for Intel LGA 2011 x79 Motherboards. Development first started with Asus motherboards and now we have recently added Gigabyte motherboards. This is my blog that will provide all of the information about these DSDT. http://rampagedev.wordpress.com/ If your x79 motherboard is not included on are blog please post your unedited DSDT, IOreg, and what GPU you were using at the time the DSDT was extracted. Post this information and files on here and we will work on it and add support as soon as we can. I can usually edit a basic DSDT within 30 minutes. Motherboards Currently Supported: All Asus Motherboards All Gigabyte Motherboards Limited AsRock Motherboards
16. Greetings InsanelyMac Community, I'm very interested in creating a Hackintosh out of my new computer, mainly for production purposes and because the MacOS platform is the middle ground between Linux (which I'm very familiar with) and Windows (which I'm not very fond of). I have purchased a Lion USB Key from Apple and have tried a few install methods I've found on these forums and Tonymacx86 though nothing has really worked. I haven't beenable to even load into the install program for Lion, so I'm not really sure what the best method of getting Lion and ultimately Mountain Lion are for my system. System Specs Biostar TPower X79 Motherboard Intel Core i7 3820 Sandy-Bridge CPU SanDisk Extreme 120 GB SSD WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB 2133MHz RAM EVGA GeForce 670 GTX GPU I don't even know if its possible, but any help or guides would be fantastic. I don't know much about DSDT editing and specific hardware kexts, but thank you in advanced for your help!

19. First, a word of thanks to Omni, rampagedev, and others who have worked to get Power Management working on LGA 2011 boards. My current rig is a Sabertooth X79 (latest BIOS), 4930k PCU, 32gb 1866 memory (Corsair), EVGA GTX 650 graphics. I ran solid for about a year using a i7-3820. No stability issues at all. Everything just works. I upgraded to a 4930k a few months ago without much incident. No stability issues at all and again everything just works. I was excited to see that Apple finally supported Power Management for LGA2011 CPUs in 10.9.2. Following guides by rampagedev (http://rampagedev.wordpress.com/) I was able to get PM up and running, both under Chameleon and Clover. It works using the vanilla AICPUPM kext and an SSDT generated using Pike's script. However, what's tripped me up has been some stability issues. When I load SSDT I get random restarts. I've tried to pin down the cause using system log but it doesn't seem much help. I've chased a few red herrings (certain applications, sound drivers, etc.) but no matter what I do the crashes persist. Sometimes the restarts are instant, but typically they come after things start to crash -- especially Chrome and Finder. When I remove the PM SSDT things once again become stable. I've run memtest and my memory is fine. I've tried various BIOS settings and as long as I have the PM SSDT loaded, I get the random crashes. It happens on stock settings, overclock settings, etc. Shilohh suggested I do a CMOS reset, load optimized defaults, and try things out. I'm going to try that now, leaving my 1866-certified RAM at 1600. Any ideas?

I have just fixed the warnings with DSDT Editor - NO sound fix added. (I'm quite happy for someone to add a sound fix and repost) - Seems to work OK with 4005 bios - Works with Maverick 10.9 - Can now see both HDs and DVD drive in Mavericks
21. Hi guys! My first post here so I apologize if its in the wrong place! I'm very new to this stuff so sorry if i ask stupid questions haha. First my spec: Asrock Fatal1ty x79 professional Intel i7 3930k 8gb Corsair Vengeance 1600 Asus Matrix 7970 Platinum At the moment, i'm just trying to boot into the installer. I'm using the clover bootloader and iAtkos ML3U on seperate usb drives. I boot into clover, select "install OSX from iAtkos ML3U" and it starts to boot, and then hangs on "system uptime in nanoseconds:*insert a load of numbers*". I've tried -v, -x, usekernelcache=no, cpus=1 and none made a difference. I have virtualization, speed step and HT disabled. I can't use Graphicsenabler=no because on x79 theres no intergrated graphics, so i can't try that (I don't think?) I am stuck! Any ideas?
