  1. Hello, I recently updated my system to El Capitan 10.11.3, although I had always used the VoodooHDA 2.7.2 for VT2021, it started to crash the system once on every boot, so I tried to solve that by upgrading the driver. I downloaded the VoodooHDA 2.8.8 so I opened side by side the 2.7.2 version and the 2.8.8 version info.plist and did the modifications. Then I installed the kext and renamed the AppleHDA.kext, rebooted and there you go! Everything working and no panic at boot. I zipped the kext and I am trying to upload it here. I hope this works for you too. Edit: I couldn't upload it so I link it from pcloud and mega Edit: I attached the plist file as code. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>BuildMachineOSBuild</key> <string>11G63</string> <key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key> <string>English</string> <key>CFBundleExecutable</key> <string>VoodooHDA</string> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA</string> <key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key> <string>6.0</string> <key>CFBundleName</key> <string>VoodooHDA</string> <key>CFBundlePackageType</key> <string>KEXT</string> <key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key> <string>2.8.8</string> <key>CFBundleSignature</key> <string>????</string> <key>CFBundleVersion</key> <string>2.8.8</string> <key>DTCompiler</key> <string></string> <key>DTPlatformBuild</key> <string>4F1003</string> <key>DTPlatformVersion</key> <string>GM</string> <key>DTSDKBuild</key> <string>12A264</string> <key>DTSDKName</key> <string>macosx10.8</string> <key>DTXcode</key> <string>0441</string> <key>DTXcodeBuild</key> <string>4F1003</string> <key>IOKitPersonalities</key> <dict> <key>VoodooHDA</key> <dict> <key>AllowMSI</key> <true/> <key>Boost</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>VoodooHDADevice</string> <key>IOMatchCategory</key> <string>VoodooHDADevice</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x1e208086</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> <key>IOUserClientClass</key> <string>VoodooHDAUserClient</string> <key>InhibitCache</key> <true/> <key>MixerValues</key> <dict> <key>PCM</key> <integer>90</integer> <key>Rec</key> <integer>70</integer> <key>iGain</key> <integer>90</integer> <key>iMix</key> <integer>0</integer> </dict> <key>NodesToPatch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01014010</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>36</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01011020</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>37</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01016040</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>38</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01012050</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>39</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x0101401f</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>40</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01a19030</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>41</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01813070</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>42</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01a19036</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>43</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x503700f0</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>44</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x01451090</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>45</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x014510a0</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>46</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>Codec</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>Config</key> <string>0x404510b0</string> <key>Node</key> <integer>47</integer> </dict> </array> <key>Noise</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>Vectorize</key> <true/> <key>VoodooHDAEnableHalfMicVolumeFix</key> <false/> <key>VoodooHDAEnableHalfVolumeFix</key> <false/> <key>VoodooHDAEnableMuteFix</key> <false/> <key>VoodooHDAEnableVolumeChangeFix</key> <false/> <key>VoodooHDAVerboseLevel</key> <integer>0</integer> </dict> </dict> <key>OSBundleLibraries</key> <dict> <key>com.apple.iokit.IOAudioFamily</key> <string>1.1fc9</string> <key>com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily</key> <string>2.1</string> <key>com.apple.kpi.iokit</key> <string>9.0.0</string> <key>com.apple.kpi.libkern</key> <string>9.0.0</string> <key>com.apple.kpi.mach</key> <string>9.0.0</string> <key>com.apple.kpi.unsupported</key> <string>9.0.0</string> </dict> </dict> </plist>
  2. So I've found these DSDT patches: VIA VT2021, verified working built-in audio on my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Device (HDEF) { Name (_ADR, 0x001B0000) OperationRegion (HDAR, PCI_Config, 0x4C, 0x10) Field (HDAR, WordAcc, NoLock, Preserve) { DCKA, 1, Offset (0x01), DCKM, 1, , 6, DCKS, 1, Offset (0x08), , 15, PMES, 1 } Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x02) { 0x0D, 0x05 }) } Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x04) { "layout-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x0C, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, "PinConfigurations", Buffer (0x30) { /* 0000 */ 0x10, 0x40, 0x11, 0x01, 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, /* 0008 */ 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, /* 0010 */ 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, /* 0018 */ 0x50, 0x30, 0x81, 0x01, 0x60, 0x90, 0xA1, 0x90, /* 0020 */ 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, 0x20, 0x21, 0x45, 0x07, /* 0028 */ 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40, 0xF0, 0x00, 0x00, 0x40 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } HDMI audio patch (there's other stuff in this one but this is the only thing relating to HDEF), verified working on my Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Device (HDEF) { Name (_ADR, 0x001B0000) OperationRegion (HDAR, PCI_Config, 0x4C, 0x10) Field (HDAR, WordAcc, NoLock, Preserve) { DCKA, 1, Offset (0x01), DCKM, 1, , 6, DCKS, 1, Offset (0x08), , 15, PMES, 1 } Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x02) { 0x0D, 0x05 }) } Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { Return (Buffer (One) { 0x03 }) } Return (Package (0x06) { "layout-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, "PinConfigurations", Buffer (Zero) {}, "hda-gfx", Buffer (0x0A) { "onboard-1" } }) } } Can anyone help me combine these two so I could have the option to use BOTH internal soundcard and HDMI audio? The only differences are in Method _DSM but I don't understand how the Buffers etc relate to device functionality. I suppose the Buffer 0x30 and its contents are the VT2021 inputs and outputs but why does one use Store and the other Return etc?
Saludos!
  4. Hello, This is a fixed Version of AppleHDA.kext for Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H with Mac OS 10.7.4, maybe it works for some other Mainboards with VIA VT2020/VT2021 too. It is based on the work of VCH888, so all credits go to him, and of course the people he wants to give credits to. In the attachement you will find a modified Version of AppleHDA.kext based on AppleHDA.kext from 10.7.4 The file was bin-patched, so you will just need a DSDT-Edit with Layout ID 12, no other Enablers are needed. Layout12.xml, Platforms.xml and Info.plist in AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext have been modified and AppleHDA has been patched Verbs for the Inputs/Outputs that do not work have been removed from AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext so they wont show up in System Profiler. + The System Profiler will only show the Inputs and Outputs that are actually working (for now) + SPDIF-Out works + Green Rear works (shown as Internal Speaker) / Green Front works (shown as Headphones) + Grey Rear works as Line Out + Black Rear works as Line Out + Blue Rear works as Line In + Connecting Headphones to Green Front mutes Green Rear - Pink Front works only as Line In (no support for Headset/active Microphones) yet - Pink Rear does not work (could not get Pink Front and Rear to work at the same time) - Orange Rear does not work at all (tried everthing, i was unable to find the right path) NOTE: If you use VoodooHDA.kext remove it before you use AppleHDA.kext, and make sure you have rebooted your Machine before installing AppleHDA.kext. 5. Hello, I am using a Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H-WB WiFi and i already got my VIA VT2020 working with AppleHDA, but there are still two Problems left. One of those Problems (and the problem this post is focused on) is that i got Pink Mic In (Front or Rear) only working as Line In. I have read quite a few posts here, and on some other forums, where this problem was discussed and for some ALCxxx-Chips even solved. No Headset Microphone will work on the Mic In Port(s) but then i connect the Headphones to Mic In i get some signal. Same goes for any other external source. So what i am asking for is a hint, on where to start. Here is a small list of steps that i have already tried without success: - Different Codec Verbs in AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext - Different changes in Platforms.xml (for my Layout) - Different changes in Layout12.xml - Adding MuteGPIO (i don't know if this is even related to this Problem) Is it even possible to get Mic In to work without any DSP Stuff in the xml files? But, i still got no idea on where to start to get "power" for the Mic In Port working. In the attached file you will find my layout12.xml, Platforms.xml, and all of my current codec dumps. I would be thankful for any hint that would help me to solve this Problem. Note: The Version of AppleHDA Patch i am currently using is based on this: VIA VT2021 and AppleHDA (as to be alternative) I just modified the Layout and Platforms for my purpose and edited the codec verbs. All credit goes to VCH888. VT2021.zip
