1. Hello guys! Here's how you can add a signature in your profile. Signature.mov Follow the rules. Signatures, Avatars and Nicks Keep your signature/avatar clean and tidy - should you receive a PM from the staff regarding your signature/avatar, please make the requested alterations or it may be removed/shortened appropriately. To keep pages loading fast for everyone, we request that your signatures and avatars contain no animations or high-definition graphics of any kind. Signatures should be no more than 6 lines of text using a regular font. If you can't fit all of your system specs in that you'd like, why not create a small graphic to contain the information?
2. If you have a Hackintosh (Desktop / Notebook) and has 2 graphics video (E.g: Intel + AMD // Intel + Nvidia/Geforce) and if you have trouble for loading the OS X do this: Boot with single user. (Clover press space bar and select "Boot with single user" and with you use Chameleon use this flag -s) 1º - Intel + AMD = Remove the AMD kexts with these commands: cd /Volumes/ ls ( list of available partitions on the system ) cd “OS X partition name” mkdir /Backup cp –rf /System/Library/Extensions/AMD* /Backup rm –rf /System/Library/Extensions/AMD* ( if you want to delete AMD kexts ) 2º - Intel + Nvidia = Remove the Nvidia kexts with these commands: cd /Volumes/ ls ( list of available partitions on the system ) cd “OS X partition name” mkdir /Backup cp –rf /System/Library/Extensions/NVDA* /Backup rm –rf /System/Library/Extensions/NVDA * ( if you want to delete NVDA kexts ) If you choose not delete the Nvidia kexts, you can just disable them via clover with: nv_disable=1 3º - Intel + Geforce = Remove the Geforce kexts with these commands: cd /Volumes/ ls ( list of available partitions on the system ) cd “OS X partition name” mkdir /Backup cp –rf /System/Library/Extensions/Geforce* /Backup rm –rf /System/Library/Extensions/Geforce * ( if you want to delete Geforce kexts ) 4º : If above methods don’t work, then you have to move the Intel kexts, but that only happens in rare cases such as HD 3000 with HM7x chipset (Core i 3nd Generation) or HD 4000 chipset HM6x (Core i 2rd generation). Although it is common have a Ivy with HM7x and Sandy with HM6x, sometimes the opposite happens, and that is what hinders. cd /Volumes/ ls ( list of available partitions on the system ) cd “OS X partition name” mkdir /Backup cp –rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD* /Backup rm –rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD * ( if you want to delete AppleIntelHD kexts ) And to get the Intel HD works, you have to apply a patch in DSDT and be happy! Here are the patches (For Laptops). Sandy with chipset HM7x into device label IMEI parent_label PCI0 remove_entry; into device label PCI0 insert begin Device (IMEI)\n {\n Name (_ADR, 0x00160000)\n Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)\n {\n If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { Return (Buffer() { 0x03 } ) }\n Return (Package()\n {\n "device-id", Buffer() { 0x3A, 0x1E, 0x00, 0x00 },\n "name", "pci8086,1e3a",\n })\n }\n }\n end; Ivy with chipset HM6x into device label IMEI parent_label PCI0 remove_entry; into device label PCI0 insert begin Device (IMEI)\n {\n Name (_ADR, 0x00160000)\n Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)\n {\n If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { Return (Buffer() { 0x03 } ) }\n Return (Package()\n {\n "device-id", Buffer() { 0x3A, 0x1C, 0x00, 0x00 },\n "name", "pci8086,1c3a",\n })\n }\n }\n end; Thanks for: mendietinha, pokenguyen, fantomas1, artur-pt and PimentelX86.
3. I do photography and video editing and want to build an affordable hackintosh to take the load from my MacBook Pro; mainly for a larger screen and much faster speed (and also to secure my workability in case my laptop fails a some point) I am a beginner in this whole thing. Once I buy the parts, I will ask for help from a friend who is quite good with configuring PCs and is recently switched to use Mac. We are willing to learn our steps, but it would be preferable not to have complicated steps. Budget: around $1500-1750 and will buy probably everything from the US. So far this is my parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yypBzy I created it by reading through some others' configurations, YouTube tutorials etc, but I am not sure if the parts are fully compatible with each other, or are best choices for my needs as they are selections from different lists. I either could not find a good configuration list for video editing, or the lists I found are relatively old. Am I going in the right direction? I wish to keep it within a budget but want to have a relatively powerful computer, while not getting parts that are unnecessarily expensive and beyond my needs. I still need to pick a good monitor (21 to 27 inch) and make sure I get good cooling for the box, since I live in a country where the summers are very hot. All help will be appreciated. I start to feel like this is beyond me and that I will fail after spending all the hard-saved money, but I am also hopeful that with some help here, I can get through this.

Screen half black

Hi, After having had no solution to my previous problem to get Audio (and then a persistent boot problem), I have had someone do a complete reinstall of the OSX. The audio is working now, but for some reason, only half of the 27 inch LG screen appears (LG Ultra HD 4K Monitor 27UD68 cm/27) ... the other half is black (see images).... for some reason I can't upload jpgs via my tethered connection ... but imagine half the screen being black, in a vertical arrangement .... I'm using Mac OSX El Capitan 10.11.4 Any tips would be much appreciated! 7. Hi! I’m starting a designing course and I’ve been told a Macbook is the best option to handle specific softwares like adobe Photoshop perfectly. Right now, i’m studying in Lisbon, Portugal. So, I would need to buy it from some Portuguese store, in case I need to claim warranty. Anyway, I started my search and found som results, fort some Portuguese stores , i’ll leave a link below. I'm aware that a desktops like a Mac Pro would be a much suitable solution, but I need a laptop to take to classes. I think a 13” Model is enough since the retina screen helps me see details better, but I don’t understand the software requirements for each type of software. What do you guys think I sould buy? Feel free to make any question or suggestion! GTX 760 iTunes HDCP Error

If I try to play a movie I downloaded via iTunes I just get a black window and a message saying my monitor is not HDCP compliant. I believe this is an issue with my GTX 760 since I don't remember having this issue when I was using the HD4000. Is there any way to solve this? Another theory is that it's related to the Clover bootloader. I used to be using Chameleon.

10. Hello there, I currently have Mac OS X (10.7 Mountain Lion) running under VMWare Workstation 8 on Windows 7. I have 16GB of RAM and I dedicated 4 to MacOS X At first I wasn't very happy with the video performance. But after getting some SVGA II drivers here at Insanely Mac, I reckon the video performance is alright considering is a Virtual Machine. What I am looking for is a VM that would give me a fair 2D and at least some general audio playback capability (something tells me running Logic Pro under a VM would never be a good idea). I can't stop but wonder whether VirtualBox would be better than VMWare, mainly because with virtual box there aren't any hacks I must do in the virtualization software to run Mac OS X. I mean, with VMware I had to "unlock" Mac OS X as a guest OS option. Plus, perhaps I am wrong but I believe that it would also be easier to get audio and video? working at a better performance, since I reckon that Oracle thelselves would be working to provide decent drivers for Mac OS X under Virtual Box. Before I venture into trying to run Mac OS X under VirtualBox just for the sake of comparison (and risking wasting some precious time when I could be doing something more productive, like playing The Witcher 2 or diablo 3 ) I would rather "hear" what the community here has to say. What do you guys reckon? Also I never ran ######. on my Mac OS X VM as I thought this is only really necessary in "physical" (as in non-VMs) Mac OS X installs. But I have a feeling that I might be terribly wrong Any suggestions / recommendations are greatly appreciated. I am a total "noob" in the hackintosh scene. So my appologies in advance Cheers! P.

Grazie in anticipo a tutti!
13. I finally got around to updating my machine from 10.12.4 to 10.12.5. I had updated a couple of others already and had no issues, so I expected this to go smoothly, but not to be... Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 TH CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k Memory: 16GB Video: Nvidia Quadro K2000 Clover --- Feel free to skip to the end/solution, I'm realizing this tale may not be as interesting as I thought as I type it, but I've gone this far --- I have used the same Clover config and hardware for a number of years with almost zero issues. After the update, the machine restarted, but part way through the boot process (Apple logo + progress bar), the screen would go black and there would be no video. I could boot in safe mode, so I made sure the update installed properly, which it did. Tried a few more reboots with same results. I updated Clover, since I had not done so in quite some time, but no luck. Also tried a number of different Clover options, installed the Nvidia web drivers and still the same behavior. There were no issues booting into Windows. I then dug out an older video card (GT 240) and swapped out my Quadro. That booted ok. Then I put both in together with one monitor connected to each. The machine booted, but only the monitor on the GT 240 worked. In System Information, I could see the Quadro listed and all of the specs looked fine, but no monitor was shown connected. Somehow the machine was recognizing the Quadro, but not any of the outputs. After monkeying around some more (NVCAP, and some other things), I tried a different SMBIOS model (from iMac12,1 to MacPro5,1) in the Clover boot screen. That booted fine! So I thought I finally had the fix. I updated my Clover config to MacPro5,1 (keeping my serial number, board ID and board serial number) and restarted. Back to the blank screen. After more messing around, I found that if I go into the SMBIOS config during Clover boot and edit the model field, just pressing enter twice (but not actually change anything), it would boot fine. So forcing Clover to react to the change caused a successful boot. Seemed that it needed to do something with the SMBIOS information, not just load it from the config. Next order of business, I removed the entire SMBIOS section of my Clover config and restarted and the machine booted fine. I added only the 3 fields back, left the rest blank and restarted; black screen again. --- end/solution --- I re-edited my config.plist, removing the board ID from my original config and got my Quadro back working again. Letting Clover auto-generate that (if it is indeed needed) has been reliable so far (possibly better? Seems sleep/wake/restart is a little faster now...). It has been so long that I had been using the same SMBIOS info (with success), it took me a long time to question and start changing those parameters. It is unclear to me why, after so many updates and rebuilds, 10.12.5 had an issue with the board ID, though. I hope this may help folks looking for answers after the 10.12.5 update (or maybe others).

15. I`m using a haswell CPU on z87 motherboard with a GTX1060.(hd4600 deact.) SMBIOS iMac14,2 Mac-27ADBB7B4CEE8E61 10.13 (17A405) with web driver 378.10.10.10.15.120. My English is not very good, After I read these links I'm still very confused. https://sourceforge.net/p/nvidiagraphicsfixup/svn/HEAD/tree/trunk/FAQ.md https://github.com/vit9696/Shiki/blob/master/Manual/FAQ.en.md https://github.com/vit9696/Shiki/issues/5 Seems like shiki.kext should be use after hardware video decoding works? But in the nvidiagraphicsfixup faq it says:To get hardware video decoding you are likely to need shiki. I try to install lilu.kext and nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext but doesn`t work. when i running ioreg | grep IMEI and ioreg -l | grep platform-id there is no output. What kext do I need?(nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext imac.kext shiki.kext ...) It is necessary to enable the builtin Intel GPU hd4600? I will appreciate for your reply.

19. Hi all, I've recently installed Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 on Toshiba Tecra A8. After installation I got not working audio, touchpad, keyboard and not fully recognized video. Could anyone please recommend me kexts which are suitable for this hardware and OS?

Fix video memory size

In some cases the GraphicsEnabler works to activate the video, but the amount of VRAM appears wrong. This is only visual, but for those who want to settle, here goes a way: Run this command in the terminal to get the device-properties string generated by Chameleon: ioreg -lw0 -p IODeviceTree -n efi -r -x | grep device-properties | sed 's/.*<//;s/>.*//;' > ~/Desktop/device-properties.hex Convert to plist (put the gfxutil.zip on the desktop) cd ~/Desktop ./gfxutil -s -n -i hex -o xml device-properties.hex device-properties.plist Edit the VRAM in device-properties.plist <key>VRAM,totalsize</key> <string>0x40000000</string> The value is in hex, convert to decimal using calculator in programmer mode, but usually just divide or double the value that you already know. E.g: 0x20000000 = 536870912 (bytes / 1024^2 = 512 MB) 0x40000000 = 1073741824 (bytes / 1024^2 = 1024 MB or 1 GB) 0x80000000 = 2147483648 (bytes / 1024^2 = 2048 MB or 2 GB) Convert device-properties.plist edited to hex ./gfxutil -i xml -o hex device-properties.plist device-properties-new.hex Copy the string of the device-properties-new.hex filename for the device-properties in the /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist <key>device-properties</key> <string>paste the string value here</string> Disable the GraphicsEnabler (or remove the option) <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> For anyone who uses Clover the setting can be done through the VRAM option in config.plist <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <true/> <key>VRAM</key> <integer>1024</integer> </dict> Source: Olarila
21. Hello I am having an issue with my Mavericks Install 10.9.1 that I installed with MyHack. I have my Intel HD 4000 recognized in the system in normal boot, but the video is choppy when dragging windows or trying to watch Youtube. Changing the IntelCapriFB seems to make no difference. I also do not get full acceleration Here is a screenshot of my system: Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?

Are these parts compatable

I have a laptop I've been using for school that I want to run Mac OS X Mavericks on. I got everything working on it except audio. Specs: Laptop model: Acer Aspire V5-561P-6823 Motherboard: Acer VA50_HW Audio Codec: Realtek Semi 0282 I have ##### downloaded but none of the audio driver options are obvious about whether or not they'd work.
24. I have a system running 10.8.1, its running the following hardware: CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 rev2 Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 My problem stems from the graphics card not being fully detected or shown in the system info. In system info it reads as 6xxx AMD card. This is causing issues with Steam and Adobe products. Any ideas? I am running GraphicsEnalbler=No as it is not needed for my card to boot. Switching GraphicsEnabler=Yes causes the system to be unable to fully boot.
