  1. I have only JUST managed to get OSX86 installed on my laptop, and that was by installing Tiger. However, after all this, there is one last problem. The resolution... It is stuck at 1024x768 and wont let me make it larger OR smaller for that matter. My computer screens resolution SHOULD be at 1280x800. It also says this so im unsure what i should be doing >.< ive googled around for a kext but nothings coming up :'( I also tried to edit the com.apple.boot.plist but thats dont nothing also What SHOULD i do XD
  2. Hi all... I saw a thread about getting Tiger on VirtualBox and was interested in it, so i downloaded the ISO and set it up in VirtualBox. The only problem is, it won't install. It boots the installer, but then it won't get any further than that. It either a) goes to the Apple logo with a cancel sign over it, or in verbose mode, it will stay on "still waiting for root device". Any ideas on how to fix this?
  3. I've got my hands on a old Mac mini g4 when I put the tiger install disc 1 it reboots to the apple logo and then I get a kernel panic saying hold on we're hanging in there please help me out I've never used a mac before.

OS X on an IDE DELL?

Hi, all I have attempted a few hackintoshes before, mostly on clearly incompatible hardware (such as SONY latops), but now I got and old DELL Optiplex GX270, which has been proven compatible by many people inside and outside this forum (like here: ). Unfortunately, this computer has a 40 GB IDE Drive. This makes stuff a little more complicated. I have attempted to install both Tiger and Leopard, but both without success and with the same error.I've tried many variations of OS X, but none boots me further than 'still waiting for root device' Here is what I did: I used a USB installer with Flashboot, because the DELL won't read DVDs I tried different USB ports I tried some boot flags that were listed as solutions to this problem (although without IDE) Can someone reccomend me either what "distro" to try out, or what boot flags or troubleshooting options could help me? (Please don't tell me stuff like "get a new hard drive/optical drive" or "don't install OS X on something that old") Here are the Specs of the PC: Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz Intel Integrated Graphics chip 40 GB IDE Hard Drive 1280 MB of RAM (2x512mb + 2x128mb)
  5. Hi! (hope I posted this in the right place) I recently repaired one of my old laptops (sse2 support only) and i would love to get Tiger running on it again. My only problem is that there are no torrents with any active seeds or websites with an active dl, so despite my best efforts I can't get a 100% download. I was hoping to get the old Jas modified 10.4.8 or 10.4.3 iso. Anyone still have an old iso or a link to help me out? Thanks!
  6. Hi Guys, I need to install tiger on VMWare workstation 6 but (you'll think I'm crazy!) on an OSX 10.9 platform (new MBP). Yes, a MAC... The reason for this is that I need to reinstall an old version of cubase (SX3), which is no longer supported since Leopard... I have installed VMware and have tried installing Tiger via 1) an original install CD I have and 2) via the "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso", burning it to a DVD but none is accepted by VMware, giving me an error message "system config file com.boot.plist not found". Can anyone help? David

    10.4.11 amd kernel ?

Hi, nostaligia... nostalgia i would like to install the good old tiger on my amd rig, but today it's very difficult to find (or i don't know searching ) patched kernel or old distro wich contain it. someone have this in archive ? i plan to install by usb flash with more recent method and bootloader. i have jas 10.4.8 and a 10.4.8 macbook 2,1 restore dvd for base. so, i can pickup amd kernel in jas. but for update to 10.4.11 i found nothing... except here, AnV released one, but impossible to download it anymore, and even don't know if it work for amd. thanks
  8. i need to know what patches and fixes i need to select for installing XxX 10.4.11 on my Dell Optiplex GX270. i got it right the first time and booted just fine, but i needed to do it again, because of a driver i installed didnt work. the second time i tryed to install it, it crashed, because i forgot what i selected. anybody know what i need? also, what driver to i need for my geforce fx5200 card?
  9. I have decided to try and install OSx86 on my old lappy since Linux has became slower for my laptop. I have gotten Mac OS X Tiger beautifully running and updated it to 10.4.11 without any hitches. Now, I found out that many applications do not work on Tiger and needed Leopard to work. I checked the minimum specs for Leopard and I slightly above the minimum requirements for Leopard. So currently, I have two questions. 1. Will Leopard work on my laptop? And if it does, will there be a performance hit or no performance changes? Tiger runs fine on my laptop and pretty fast. 2. Can I upgrade my current Tiger to Leopard in some way? And will kexts from Tiger work on Leopard? Laptop specs: Compaq Presaio 2200 1.4GHz Intel Celeron Processor 512MB RAM 40GB HDD Intel 825/855GM Graphics Chipset (QE not supported on Tiger)
  10. Dear Friends, Is there any where Retail or OEM 10.4.11 DVD ? Could not find this on torrents ... Thank you!
  11. Hello guys. I bet everyone sometimes got that desire to go back in time and use something you used to a couple of years ago. For me, one of those things is OS 10.4 (and its sleek Front Row!). However since I have repurposed my 2006 MBP into an HTPC, I cannot install it on anything anymore. But what if we could do it on our new shiny Hackintoshes? So, the question is, will the Tiger run on: • Core i3 3.1Ghz • Gigabyte GA-z77-DS3H • Latest chameleon (on external USB drive — i prefer to keep any kind of bootloader off my HDD, so it wouldn't mess up) • Alongside 10.8.2 • With Audigy2 Platinum (AFAIR kX drivers were written exactly for 10.4) • GFX card is a non-branded nVidia GeForce GT 440, had the 'screen goes to sleep' bug but it seems either npci=0x2000 darkwake=0 PCIRootUID=1 or Natit fixed it I hope it will, but could please someone give a more specific answer? That would be awesome if it would work (not to mention it's gonna be F A S T ) Thanks!
  12. I have an old P4 machine and I want to install OS X Tiger on it, is this possible in 2019, I can't find any torrents for jas 10.4.8
