  1. I have a question regarding Clover's boot loader. I have 3 SSDs, one for Mac, one for Windows, and one for Data. When the boot loader loads, I have one Mac partition and 4 Windows partitions (the 4 include Windows OS, Windows System Reserved, an unknown Windows partition, and Data). Is there any way I can minimize it to just 1 Mac and 1 Windows partition? I've done some research, and realized that it has something to do with adding a string with a UUID. The thing is, the 3 partitions that I want to be hidden are not on a GPT drive. They are instead in the MBR partition style. So the UUID is not the same as the examples I've found online. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Note: I've attached my bootlog just in case. If you need any additional info, please let me know. Thanks in advance! bootlog.log.txt
  2. Hi, My Windows partitions (logical volumes NTFS and EXFAT) are not getting shown in MAC 10.8.2(Niresh distro). Configured dual-boot(MAC-WIN). Installed "FUSE OSX" and "rEFIt". My windows and Mac partition scheme is attached. Please suggest. Thanks in advance....
  3. Hi to everybody, After a lot of time and troubles I have a (nearly) fully functional hackintosh. To make this dream real (lol) I need your help in some problems, first of all audio. The audio chip of my mb (signature) is realtek alc1150. I found a lot of guides (most of that on "toleda methods"), but nothing work for me, neither "apple hda audio" or other solutions ! The only admissible (is it?) solution is with vodoohda 2.8.8. Sound was popping and I solved it with the midi configurator of mac os x (i changed Hz). I had it on HDMI, but i can't slide volume down or up, when i plug in headphones the pc doesn't switch automatically the output source and the volume in headphones is ridicolously low. But when i use headphones as output I can slide volume. I tried tipical solutions to solve it, but, again, nothing solved. Another problem is that internal hd (i use it only for storage) is slow. It is formatted in NTFS because I use it also on windows. I really notice its slowness when I modify a song on iTunes (library stored there), I use Tuxera to write on it and I don't know what other file system I can use because there are some files (big sized like games) that I can't move on a fat32 hd. I test vga card and results are better on windows (sigh). What can I do to improve vga performance on mac? How can I optimize all the machine in few words. Thank you very much for all your time I appreciate it. [|OFFTOPIC| I installed and deleted MacFuse (a program for ntfs), but I can't remove panel on settings.]
  5. Hello! I have really strange problem with my hackintosh. It was working perfectly, and just after one reboot it doesn't see my other harddisk. Hackintosh is installed on one harddisk, and windows 7 on other. Both hardisks were accessible from my hackintosh, but now they aren't. I've checked, and harddisk isn't visible from Disk Utility, and isn't visible in /dev folder (I have only /dev/disk0 which is my hackintosh harddisk). Any ideas what is happening and how to fix it ? Thanks

    [Aiuto] Clover quad boot

Ciao a tutti.
  7. I have been using the below said HDD with my Macbook and Windows (8.1 Pro) machine interchangeably for over an year. Since the HDD is NTFS formatted I use Tuxera NTFS drivers to enable write on Macbook, which worked fine unless one fine day on plugging in the HDD to my Macbook I find the HDD to be completely empty. On firing disk utility I come to know that hard drive has been formatted to Mac OS Extended partition type. Please note this happened instantaneously as soon as I plugged in the machine to my Macbook, so I assume the drive was not actually formatted but some sort of partition format change has happened. After this I was unable to access any data on the drive on my Macbook and the drive was not being detected on the Windows machine since I do not have 3rd party tools to read Mac OX extended partition on Windows. I have tried FileSalvage data recovery tool to Salvage (Raw Recovery) files from the same drive and able to recover the content but lost the directory structure and file properties. Due to the nature of data stored on the drive (Datasets, Source Code, Resources in Zip files) I would really like to get back my directory structure. Since no actual format happened on the drive (Reason 1 - The format type flip was instantaneous, Reason 2 - Recovered data is still in good shape) I would really like to know if I can convert the Mac OS Extended formatted drive back to NTFS and recover directory structure along with data as it was before that unfortunate day when my machine suddenly decided to format my drive without permission. System - MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3) Product (with issues) - WD My Book Studio II - 4 TB (NTFS Formatted using Tuxera NTFS for Mac STABLE VERSION 2013.2) PS: I tried reproducing the scenario on another Seagate 4TB drive (NTFS formatted) with dummy data and after few weeks of random hit and trials I was able to replicate the issue and the drive was flipped to Mac OS Extended format again. I removed the Tuxera NTFS drivers after that suspecting that's causing the issue and since then nothing has happened to my NTFS drives on Macbook. The 2nd Seagate HDD is available for testing the solutions to resolve the issue with original WD HDD.

Then upon right-clicking and mounting from disk utility, an error will come up saying the mount was unsuccessful, but the drive appears on the desktop and appears to work normally, despite disk utility not recognizing the drive as mounted. Rebooting and/or removing and reconnecting the drive sometimes helps. When it's good and recognized, every repair and verify Disk Utility check comes up clean, and I'm able to read and write as normal (with help from Paragon NTFS). Any and all help greatly appreciated. -newmy51
  9. Hi, I recently updated to 10.8.4 on my desktop machine (see signature). Since the update, OSX refuses to mount any USB mass storage formatted as FAT32/exFAT/NTFS. Such partitions are correctly detected in Disk Utility, and in fact both the "repair" command and the "verify" command complete successfully. Still, the mount command doesn't work. HFS-formatted partitions work as expected. Any suggestion? Thanks.

  12. As of recently, I haven't been able to remove files from an NTFS volume mounted via Tuxera NTFS 2011.4.2 Creating files or renaming them works without a problem, I just can't delete anything. The following comes up whenever I try to remove a file or directory: I have Windows on multiboot, so I gave that a try and was able to remove the files without a problem. The other thing that worked was opening terminal and switching to root (sudo su) then removing the files -- no problems here either. And that's why I'm confused, because the permissions on all the files and directories are all the same: drwxrwxrwx 1 aspin staff aspin being my username, and my account be an administrators account that until recently, could easily remove any file on that drive. Long story short, I can remove files from Windows and from terminal when root, but under my own account I get an error. Anyone have a guess on what might be happening here?
Grazie.
