  1. Version 10.15.x

Patched OSInstaller.framework to allow macOS 10.15 installation on MBR HFS+ partition. Please read Readme-10.15.pdf first. How to finish the Catalina installation. 1. Use EasyMBR-Installer1015 to make USB Catalina Installer. 2. Boot to USB Catalina Installer, open Utilities -> Disk Utility, format as MBR HFS+. Install Catalina to blank MBR HFS+ "Target" partition. 3. Boot to USB Catalina Installer, open Utilities -> Terminal, run the script command: copytempdata 4. Boot to "Target" MBR HFS+ partition on single user mode (-s), run the script command: hfsupdatecache 5. Reboot to "Target" MBR HFS+ partition, setup user name and login, finish the installation. Also, you need to setup Clover as BooterConfig=0x28, CsrActiveConfig=0x67 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- List of known issues: 1. Some app-pkg-installers can't install to HFS+, but install to APFS fine. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is this patched OSInstaller doing? 1. Pass the MBR check, allow macOS 10.15 installation on MBR partition. 2. Pass the Firmware check, bypass the error of "An error occurred while verifying firmware". 3. Pass auto-convert to APFS , "ConvertToAPFS=false" is no longer worked with 10.15. 4. This MBR-Manual-Method will never convert to APFS, and will always install as HFS+ partition. 5. This MBR-Manual-Method works with both MBR HFS+ and GPT HFS+ partition (GPT+recovery). No longer need to set new SMbiosversion, FirmwareFeatures, and FirmwareFeaturesMask with this MBR-patch. What's the difference between createinstallmedia method, MBR-Manual-Method, and MBR-Automatic-Method? As the following.... 1. createinstallmedia method, needs stage 1, stage 2 installation process, which is worked with GUID partition only, always convert to APFS format. 2. MBR-Manual-Method (same as 10.12), install via stage 2 manually, which is worked with both MBR HFS+ and GUID HFS+, will never convert the partition format. We can manually format as MBR HFS+ or GPT HFS+ on installation screen like as 10.12. We can manually select MBR HFS+ partition to install 10.13, 10.14, 10.15 on installation screen now. Needn't to update the MBR-Manual-Method files, it will still work on 10.13, 10.14, 10.15 future versions, I think so. It can be installed as Fresh installation on formated blank partition only, but can't be installed as update from previous version. 3. MBR-Automatic-Method (new for 10.13+), End of MBR and HFS+, there is no more MBR HFS+ patch available for 10.15 native OSInstaller. How to make 10.15 installer for MBR (MBR-Manual-Method)? You should boot to 10.12, or 10.13 to download it again from App Store, or use script Q6-DownloadFullApp/installScript_fullapp to download the full installer app via swscan.apple.com.

    Mavericks MBR patch

    Version 10.9.5

    19,105 downloads

Patched OSInstall.mpkg and OSInstall framework to allow installation on MBR partition. To use these patched files you must create an installer using this method (Pandora's Box should also work). You can't just run the app downloaded from Mac App Store. After creating the installer, run this command in terminal replacing "installer volume name" by the name of your installer drive. If it contains spaces, surround the name by " or precede each space with \ (you can just drag and drop the drive to terminal when typing the command) sudo tar zxvf ~/Downloads/Mavericks_10.9.5_MBR_Patch.tar.gz -C /Volumes/"installer volume name" If you download with Safari, it will automatically expand the gz, so the command should be sudo tar xvf ~/Downloads/Mavericks_10.9.5_MBR_Patch.tar -C /Volumes/"installer volume name"

Config: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R v2.0 BIOS FF - Xeon X5675 - 12GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance - SSD Crucial M4 512GB

Please help. thanks Sachin
  16. More info at: http://www.thegroovykosak.blogspot.pt Here is a video I made demonstrating the procedure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04SLD2Kft60 Download your distro of choice, in my case Ubuntu Gnome edition Once that is done, use the command that follows to convert the iso to img:
hdiutil convert -format UDRW ~/path/to/target.iso -o ~/path/to/ubuntu.img
Note: OS X tends to put the .dmg ending on the output file automatically, delete the ".dmg" ending. Run diskutil list to get the current list of devices Insert your flash media Run diskutil list again and determine the device node assigned to your flash media
(e.g. /dev/disk2) Run
 diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskN
(replace N with the disk number from the last command; in the previous example, Nwould be 2) Execute the following command while replacing /path/to/downloaded.img with the path where the image file is located; for example, ./ubuntu.img or ./ubuntu.dmg). sudo dd if=/path/to/downloaded.img of=/dev/rdiskN bs=1m Using /dev/rdisk instead of /dev/disk may be faster. Run diskutil eject /dev/diskN and remove your flash media when the command completes Restart your Mac and press Alt while the Mac is restarting to choose the USB-Stick or restart your PC and choose the USb from BIOS. This USB should work for any computer. Note: (If you see the error dd: Invalid number '1m', you are using GNU dd. Use the same command but replace bs=1m with bs=1M. If you see the error dd:/devdiskN: Resource busy, make sure the disk is not in use. Start the Disk Utility.app and unmount (don't eject) the drive. ) Thanks for watching
  17. Hello, after installing new hard drive to my functional hackintosh it doesn't shows up in disk utility at all. But, when I boot up Windows 8 on same machine and go to disk management it shows up normally and I can format it and do everything with it normally. Access with file explorer is also possible. I tried formatting it in MBR and GPT format style - no success. I tried formatting it in NTFS and exFAT - no success. I also tried connecting it to another SATA port - no success. Is there something else I can try?
  18. Hey Guys, I wanted to write a short guide on how to chainload Chameleon or legacy Clover from the Windows Bootloader using EasyBCD/Grub4DOS. This maybe useful for people who are reluctant to touch their legacy Windows installation and want to keep their OSX installed and separate on a new GPT Hard Disk. A common scenario would be to have an existing legacy install of Windows on a MBR partitoned hard drive. After installing OSX and then a bootloader (Chameleon or legacy Clover) on a separate GUID hard drive, you can still give the original Windows drive first boot priority in the BIOS and chainload to Chameleon/Clover from the Windows Boot Manager when required. Eg Below is the current disk/partition arrangement for my legacy BIOS (Non UEFI) desktop rig: Gigabyte P55aUD3/Intel i5 750/AMD Radeon HD 5770 diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: FDisk_partition_scheme *120.0 GB disk0 1: Windows_NTFS System Reserved 104.9 MB disk0s1 2: Windows_NTFS WIN7_X64SSD 119.9 GB disk0s2 /dev/disk1 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *2.0 TB disk1 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1 2: Microsoft Basic Data TSH_DATA 1.7 TB disk1s2 3: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 133.6 GB disk1s3 4: Microsoft Reserved 133.2 MB disk1s4 5: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk1s5 6: Microsoft Basic Data WINDOWS 134.1 GB disk1s6 Windows 7 X64 is installed in legacy mode on an MBR 120GB SSD booted by the Windows Bootloader. OSX Yosemite and Windows 7 X64 are installed in UEFI mode and booted by legacy CloverEFI on the 2TB GPT Hard Disk. The SSD (and therefore the Windows Boot Manager) has first priority in the BIOS but I can also choose the GPT Hard Drive by pressing F12 during the BIOS post to boot Yosemite and UEFI Windows via Clover. Procedure Requirements 1. Existing install of legacy Windows on a MBR partitioned hard drive 2. OSX installed on a separate hard drive booted with Chameleon or legacy Clover 3. EasyBCD 2.2 Install Grub4DOS to enable chain loading 1. Open EasyBCD 2.2 and click on the BCD Backup/Repair button to save the current boot configuration data to somewhere safe. 2. Click the Add New Entry button and select the NeoGrub tab in the Operating Systems section a. Click the Install Button b. Click the Configure Button 3. Notepad should open Grub4DOS's menu.lst file (located in C:\NST\menu.lst) and you can now add the following lines to chainload the OSX bootloader from the MBR of the second hard drive.... chainloader (hd1)+1 rootnoverify (hd1) boot Notes: For GRUB, (hd0) represents the first disk, (hd1) the second disk, (hd2) the third etc. So chainloader (hd1) is used to boot the MBR of the second hard disk. The "+" symbol is used to specify a blocklist - in this case +1 is the first sector of the device (hd1). To chainload to a Partition Boot Record (PBR) on the second hard drive, a similar entry could be used eg to boot to the first partition on the second hard drive... root (hd1,0) chainloader (hd1,0)+1 boot 4. Close Notepad. 5. Click the Edit Boot Menu button to Rename your new menu entry from the default "NeoGrub Bootloader" eg I've named mine "Clover" since I use Clover but you can name it "Chameleon" if you use Chameleon. You can also move an entry up/down, set a timeout etc. 6. Finally, click Save Settings, exit EasyBCD and reboot the computer. Select Clover/Chameleon from the Windows Boot Manager to chainload Clover/Chameleon and boot into OSX....
  19. I am using Clover Legacy (r3526) to be able to boot from my dual Windows OS partition MBR hard disk (Win 7/Win Vista). I set Win 7 to be the active primary. However when I try to boot from Win 7 partition, I'm stuck at Windows Boot Manager where I no longer have access to my keyboard so I am forced to wait for the count down to run out before it automatically loads Windows 7... I'm sure this very problem has to do with Clover after reading this thread here. I am confused by what to do in order to fix this issue. Any helpful advice is welcome. Thanks
  20. Hi I have been trying to get my hackintosh working for a few days now with no luck. I have followed the following guide using clover: http://osxarena.com/2015/10/guide-install-mac-osx-el-capitan-on-hackintosh-pc-with-clover-vanilla-installation-method/ I have legacy bios with MBR HDD I have managed to get into clover bootloader and at first I was getting a ACPI kernel panic, but after disabling DSDT fixes that problem was cured. However, near the end of the Apple loading screen a white/orange screen appears (i could kind of see a rainbow cursor why i could move). Since it was a graphics issue I tried disabling inject intel and instead this time it just shutdown (no restart) at around 4/5 of the loading bar. I am not exactly sure how I should be configuring my config.plist, I have tried reading the clover wiki but it is too complicated for me :/. I have also tried existing configs but when I use those I just freeze even before the clover bootloader. im running 1366x768 res intel HD graphics (driver info doesnt show me exact one) Note: My sister whose Mac im using is starting to get irritated, and im running out of bribes Also lmk if I should provide more information, screenshots w/ verbose etc Thanks in advance

  22. I have a question regarding Clover's boot loader. I have 3 SSDs, one for Mac, one for Windows, and one for Data. When the boot loader loads, I have one Mac partition and 4 Windows partitions (the 4 include Windows OS, Windows System Reserved, an unknown Windows partition, and Data). Is there any way I can minimize it to just 1 Mac and 1 Windows partition? I've done some research, and realized that it has something to do with adding a string with a UUID. The thing is, the 3 partitions that I want to be hidden are not on a GPT drive. They are instead in the MBR partition style. So the UUID is not the same as the examples I've found online. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Note: I've attached my bootlog just in case. If you need any additional info, please let me know. Thanks in advance! bootlog.log.txt
  23. Hey guys, I was wondering if it would be possible for me to use clover to be able to boot windows and have it see a full 4tb HDD on legacy hardware? I have used a UEFI enabled computer to install Windows on the 4TB hard drive, but obviously when I plug that drive into the non-uefi computer it won't load. I was wondering if I could use clover to make it work? I tried using a mac with a HDD caddy to install clover to it, but I think it says that clover couldn't be installed to that drive. Yet when I format that drive in apple's disk manager then I am able to install clover to the drive. I believe I need to somehow do a "protective mbr" or "hybrid mbr" as the motherboard is non-uefi so it won't read a GPT disk, so I need to probably have clover install into a MBR partition on the disk so it can then start the GPT partition that contains windows (I can have different partitioning schemes on one drive right?) So far: I have been able to successfully boot up the UEFI version of windows in the legacy boot hardware by using a USB drive with clover on it. The computer starts up, loads up clover and then I select to boot off the drive and it loads up no problem. Thing is I need to do is somehow have the 4tb drive contain clover. I've been working on this for a couple days, if anyone can point me the right way I would extremely appreciate it!!
  24. Hello everyone, i want to ask something about kernel panic. I got this kernel panic after i tried to install clover bootloader on my HDD (MBR type, el capitan installed with MBR patch). Here's the picture of it: Before, i always use usb to boot into my el capitan, because whenever i tried to install clover on my HDD it always got error. And somehow last time i try to install clover r3330 on my HDD it got succeed , so i restart my el capitan. But, after i restart the boot option from hdd still not showing (still boot to windows directly), and i try to boot from usbdrive clover, it got KP like the picture above. How to fix that problem? Thanks before ---- Lenovo z480 core i7 3610QM ivy bridge intel HD4000 ---- Edited 2: Already fix the problem, i am very ashame that the cause i still use voodooHDA but not the appleHDADisabler is not present, that's why it becomes error. Thank you everyone
  25. Hi guys, i'm new here, if this thread isn't in the right section please move it. Well, i'm not new to hackintosh but i'm facing a new problem and i don't wanna ruin things. Basicly Windows 7 installation delete Chamaleon boot loader at pc start, now i can access to Yosemite only using the USB (wich contain yosemite installation), I wanna install Chameleon bootloader back. this was the configuration before ruin things. Dual boot with Yosemite 10.10.0 and Windows 7 HP x64 actually like this Now with the USB boot it loads like this, with the USB being "Yosemite Zone" I ruined thing when for other reason I had to install Win7 again, so at installation part i didn't touched System partition (100 MB), delete only the partion with old Win and installed the new one while leaving OSX partition untouched. At the boot the PC just load directly Windows 7 without showing Chamaleon. The first time i tried to boot OSX with the USB the boot failed with screen errors, so next usb boot i insert "-x -f -v" and then the OSX booted fine. Turn off the pc tried the USB boot this time without any arguments just select OSX partition and it actually worked fine. How can I install back Chamaleon bootloader back without messing up thing while keeping both OSX and Windows partition selection at boot?? Tried with EasyBCD but it didn't work. Thanks!
