Installed Yosemite vanilla using chameleon on my rig...specs are in my signature I have tried installing VoodooHDA 2.8.2, unfortunately that didn't work. Then I tried patched appleHDA for alc665 from mackintosh Vietnam tool... didn't work.. I haven't find any DSDT patch for audio. Here's my System report for audio and IOReg. Am I missing something in DSDT or any kext or boot flag? EDIT 1: Tried http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/24-applehda-for-alc665/ PATCH It didnt work. EDIT 2 : Switched to Clover. Patched DSDT, Installed the kexts. Voila.. It worked Subwoofer aint working though but fix that soon. Thanks to @The_Village_Idiot, @apianti I will make a list of working/non working soon.
I installed a second hard drive into my Alienware M14x by replacing the optical drive with a caddy. I installed lion on the second hard drive, and it boots fine, but it's really slow after it boots. Sometimes when I click on anything, it just hangs for about 10 seconds then loads, but it's pretty inconsistent - sometimes its fine, sometimes it hangs. It's odd because I had lion working perfectly fine in the primary HDD bay, but when I move it to the optical drive caddy, it's slows down. I was having this same problem in Windows, but I fixed it by installing Intel's Rapid Storage Technology drivers. Is there some sort of equivalent Kext, or something else that I should be doing to make it work properly? System Information says it's got an Intel 6 Series chipset. I know the optical drive port is only SATA 1.5 Gbps, but I don't think that should really affect it as much as it is.
Can anyone tell me if the alienware m15x laptops will be supported for snow leopard and if so what install method should i choose? I would like to buy this build: http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?rn=9438&c=us&l=en&s=dfh&cs=22&PLikeId=1_423891_1_491999_1_565020_1_290798_1_414878_1_425891_1_565011_&Flag=1
xplus93 posted a topic in OSx86 10.7 (Lion)This guide will include flashing a custom bios, I take no responsibility for any damage done because of a bad flash. If you are uncomfortable flashing a Bios please do not follow this guide. There will be three parts for this guide, first will be flashing the unlocked BIos to allow single GPU operation. The other two are for configuring the Bios and intalling OS X one for using only the nVidia GPU and one for using the Intel GPU. I take no credit for the first part, credit goes to user svl7 on Techinferno, therefore I will be linking to the forum post. To flash the custom Bios, go to http://forum.techinf...os-a07-a08.html. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. (Also safety first, never flash Bios on battery, use AC power) In case Bios recovery is neccesary: http://forum.techinf...y-possible.html (follow guide in post #2, but rename file PALB064.fd) Install guides coming soon, for now this will be for those who already know what to do from here.
