1. Hi all. I installed snow leopard 10.6 retail to my pc (specs in signature) using the nawcom's cd 0.3.2, selecting only the legacy kernel, AppleAtiAta and VoodooHDA, plus the language ect. Everything gone right, then i installed chameleon (the last vers.) to hdd, but snow leo wasn't able to boot. Only with nawcom's cd i could access to the OS; so I did the combo update to 10.6.8 and I installed the legacy kernel 10.6.8 v2 by nawcom. Still not booting, even with -x -f flags. I only have a kernel panic. Here it is: Can you help me? : ( what could i do? (it's my first real attempt to install snow leo distro to my pc) Thanks in advance edit: i'll try to extract kexts from the boot cd to see if with them the os boots..
2. I'm able to boot only with 'nv_disable=1' boot argument, otherwise I got KP right before the desktop is suppose to appear. Situation is the same either with system driver or Nvidia Web Driver. Configuration was made using this script and it was fully working with El Capitan without any issues. KP Report attached. Help. Update: Installed and configured Clover from scratch. 3. I'm trying to install Yosemite on my HP XW6600 Workstation. Specs: CPU: Dual Intel Xeon E5410 @ 2.3GHz RAM: 16GB GPU: GTX 950 1GB When trying to get to the installer I got a kernel panic saying "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI"\" but I managed to bypass that by booting with "-f -v -x acpi=off" and now I get another KP saying "pmap_steal_memory" and I have no idea what's the cause of this.
4. Hello, I finished installing OS X 10.7 Lion a few weeks ago. Things have been going well until recently, as when I play Java games (like Minecraft) and ejecting the drive using the key on the Apple USB Aluminum Keyboard, kernel panic might occur (It does not always happen). The message shows that com.apple.ATIRadeonX3000 is the culprit. Attached is a screenshot I took when the Kernel Panic happened. My computer configuration: Intel Core i7-930 2.8GHz Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 (FF BIOS) 6GB of RAM Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5850 1GB Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!
5. After computer awakes and I'm plugging in usb device, it leads to Kernel Panic. If I will plug in flash drive or phone - Kernel Panic, but just after sleep. This problem appears with both Clover and Ozmosis (with Chamelion/Chimera too, as far as I know) and it came with Yosemite update. With Mavericks have been no problem. I see that many users experience this issue, and still no solution. May be somebody can help with it?
6. Guys today I discovered something and I feel obligated to share it with you. I hope that won't be 'rediscovering' and reposting the issue. :-) Some of you may have problems with Clover and sleep and have KP on wake. KP which looks like: Sat Jul 6 23:45:46 2013 panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80002b7e95): Kernel trap at 0xffffff7f81ba7dc3, type 13=general protection, registers: CR0: 0x000000008001003b, CR2: 0x000000010d6ea120, CR3: 0x000000000782c000, CR4: 0x00000000000606e0 [...] RFL: 0x0000000000010206, RIP: 0xffffff7f81ba7dc3, CS: 0x0000000000000008, SS: 0x0000000000000010 Fault CR2: 0x000000010d6ea120, Error code: 0x0000000000000000, Fault CPU: 0x0 Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff80e457b780 : 0xffffff800021d626 [...] 0xffffff80e457bfb0 : 0xffffff80002b2977 Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform(1.7)[D49DC2E0-97DF-32E6-A8ED-7A12EF1AA51B]@0xffffff7f81b88000->0xffffff7f81be5fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[A35915E8-C1B0-3C0F-81DF-5515BC9002FC]@0xffffff7f80e25000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.7.3)[1D668879-BEF8-3C58-ABFE-FAC6B3E9A292]@0xffffff7f80844000 May be caused by... FANS... On my Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 it can cause the issue for sure. About the case: Today I decided to clean up my case and i reconnected fan cables but I did it a bit differently as one of the sockets seemed to be not responding to PWM signals. - both on windows and os x. All of the fans - except for the CPU fan - are 3pin fans. I have on my mobo 3pin and 4pin sockets. For begginers 3pin fans have PWM control and 4pin fans have PWM and VR control. I thought that I can connect 3pin fan to 4pin socket as it was working pretty well and the 4pin socket was responding to PWM signals but... I couldn't wake my PC! I got KP as above. I spend last 2 hours trying to figure out what happened as I performed some other changes at the same time - stupid me... When I disconnected all the Fans the problem was gone! The problem must be the Apple kext that doesn't allow to connect to the socket that supports VR a fan that doesn't support it. Or maybe it's just a bug. Anyway I hope it will be another solution for 0xffffff80002b7e95 KP.
7. I've installed and configured 10.8.4 retail on my Asus U36SD laptop. Everything works fine and stable except one thing. When plugging or unplugging charger system freezes, and needs to be restarted by pressing power button. This is so strange, cause it happens after 1 hour or more of system running. Before that time i can plug/uplug charger any time without an issue. Tried many battery kexts: AppleSmartBatteryManager, VoodooBattery. Second one works longer but its still very annoying. Im using UEFI boot with Clover and DSDT extracted from my BIOS. Does anyone knowes what could it be?
8. I installed Mountain Lion using #####. I made a bootable USB using Chimera 1.11 (put the Extra folder from ##### USB to this Chimera boot USB). Now, I have to boot in -v mode otherwise I get kernel panic! and, the system identifies my graphics card as ATI Mobility Radeon HD5400 series 5 rather than identifying it exactly as 5470. Now, I made another bootable USB using latest Chameleon 2050(enoch-rev2050). I used the same Extra folder which I got while installing Mountain Lion using #####. It boots fast and I can boot without -v option and it identifies my graphics card exactly! But, my Elantech ps/2 trackpad does not work (keyboard works)!!! I guess it is due to the different boot loader but is there any way through which I could solve above problems. My system specs are in signature. I am still booting using USB drive as my system is still in test phase.
9. Hello everyone, ever since installing the security update at the end of January, I've been having two issues. The first is the kernel panic that happens every time I try to boot. After much research, here and elsewhere, I learned that the issue is Lilu.kext which I did not update prior to installing the security update. So now I have the latest version downloaded to a USB drive, but I cannot copy it to the hackintosh... Every time I try to boot into Recovery, the system just locks up. So I tried replacing the file via the UEFI shell and again from Kali, and in both cases I couldn't because both OS's see the Mac's file system as "read-only." I did some research on how to fix Recovery and found that I need to put FakeSMC.kext in the /EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/Other directory on the Recovery HD, which I cannot do for the same reason I can't replace the Lilu file (the HD is read-only to all other OS's). I tried booting off my old Snow Leopard CD, and that doesn't work either; every time I try it just quits mid-boot, resets the computer and reboots into Clover. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I'm out of ideas at this point.
