    VGA on Hackintosh

Hi guys. My first laptop in signature has everything working, except for VGA in the HD4400. It has worked a couple of times, and when it works it does great. HDMI works perfect, though I have a big big VGA only screen Is there any way to make the VGA connection work better? Any Clover patches I could apply?

    HD4000/HP8470p Third Monitor

    I have that machine with an HP Advanced Docking Station. Everything else works great. I have 3 drives set up with OS X Sierra, Windows, and Linux. I can use three external monitors with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16, works flawlessly. I also have a desktop Nvidia Hackintosh that can. The monitors are DELL U2410f DisplayPort(two monitors must be DP or Active Adapters for 3 screens to work). The machine is a rev 9 HD4000 with a 1600X900 panel. However OS X struggles to detect the third monitor. It will activate the third monitor and put it right to sleep. Docking station has DVI. DVI DP. DP (using DP) Notebook Has a DP out VGA never used, No HDMI I can use any combination of two screens, internal or external. Here is my frame buffer for starters, Here is the original AppleCapriFrameBuffer: 09 00 66 01 01 03 03 03 00 00 00 04 . - 09/ 3 ports 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 60 10 07 00 00 - 10 07 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 50 29 04 00 00 00 00 00 - 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 00 00 00 - LVDS 02 05 00 00 00 04 00 00 07 01 00 00 - DVI 03 04 00 00 00 04 00 00 07 01 00 00 -DP I edited it to this, but did not really get a change: 09 00 66 01 01 03 04 03 00 00 00 04 - 4th port 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 60 10 07 00 00 10 07 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 29 04 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 00 00 00 02 05 00 00 00 04 00 00 07 01 00 00 03 04 00 00 00 04 00 00 07 01 00 00 03 04 00 00 00 04 00 00 07 01 00 00 - Another dp? Is there anything else to try? I saw some stuff for desktop, but I'm not sure if it applies to notebooks. Thanks
  3. Hello Guys! I have ran into a weird situation here. My DELL 7720 SE laptop had some power problem on the motherboard (as told by the service center guys) which made my system unbootable. They replaced the motherboard. I brought it home and obviously, tried installing OSX using the Time Machine Backup. It restored correctly. Used all the same files/ config as earlier but the system couldn't boot up. It boots in safe mode, but no QE/QC. When I delete the Intel HD4000 Kexts and SNBGraphics etc kexts, the system boots up, again w/o QE/QC!!! Now, what in the world has gone wrong?? I have updated the BIOS to the latest A16. Is the new motherboard different than the earlier one? Basically, Intel HD4000 is not working....... I am trying get it work on OS X 10.9.2 I tried latest Chameleon Bootloader with DSDT=Null and tried all IntelCapriFB=1-11 EnableDualLink=Yes/No, GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No SkipNvidiaGfx=Yes.. All except one gave me Black Screen... IntelCapriFB=4 was the best one as the Intel Graphics was detected correctly with 1024Mb VRAM...but No QE/QC.. The graphics is obviously crappy without QE/QC... I checked the loaded KEXTS and found that AGPM is not loading.. FramebufferCapri and HD4000 kexts are loading with IntelCapriFB=4.... Also, clover Bootloader is not able to find my Mac volume, yes, i have the HFS related driver in CLover... tried both Vbox and HFSPlus...!!!!! So using chameleon on the USB as I have windows in UEFI mode with GPT partitioning. The older DSDT worked flawlessly (thanks to Lejenk) Somehow the same DSDT has stopped working after the swapping of motherboard..... System has Intel HD Graphics 4000 and NVIDIA GT650M in optimus.. CPU is 3rd Gen Intel Core i7 3630QM.. HDD is 1TB partitioned as GPT... with windows 8 installed in UEFI mode... Please help!
  4. selling off a couple of my mackintosh projects as i don't follow the scene anymore really. last build i put on it was yosemite and it all works apart from the mini pci wifi that is no longer supported, but it works fine in mavericks and can easily be swapped out. the trick is this one has HDMI input so you can have an iMac that lets you run your games console on the same screen. uses desktop CPU so can be upgraded to i5 or i7. it also has windows 10 licensed to the device and it supports mSATA if you wanted to dual boot which is what i did. UK only but if this is of interest to anyone drop me a line, happy to discuss and answer any questions..
  5. The macOS Sierra was released yesterday, I installed it on a USB hard drive to test with all my Laptops. This one is i5-3317u HD4000 platform. - Use bootdiskutility to create clover folder and partition for 8GB flash drive. UEFI Clover 3761 - Extract and restore the base system to USB hard drive. - Voodoo 2.8.8 for Audio. - Ethernet RT8111. - patch clover for BCM94352 dual band wifi and BT4.0 with handoffs to work. - USBInjectAll.kext for booting from USB (kexts/10.12). - Use Trackpad.Preference.pane from El Capitan for the trackad.preference.pane to work. Cheers, Louis

    HD4000 full acceleration for 10.8 / 10.7.5

    No, I don't need a dedicated gfx-card. The HD4000 integrated into Ivy Bridge 3770 will do for me, as well as for many others. I thought I'd share the little I know about how to get it to run actually. Depending on your hardware this may or may not work - it works perfectly fine for me. Okay, let's get started by dumping some lines of DSDT: Device (MEI) { Name (_ADR, 0x00160000) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x02) { "device-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x3a, 0x1e, 0x00, 0x00 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } I've got a H67 Chipset here, so I'm using device MEI to change my device-id from 3A1C to 3A1E. Otherwise AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext will block AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext. Device (IGPU) { Name (_ADR, 0x00020000) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x0C) { "AAPL,ig-platform-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x09, 0x00, 0x66, 0x01 }, "device-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x66, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00 }, "vendor-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x86, 0x80, 0x00, 0x00 }, "subsystem-vendor-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x6b, 0x10, 0x00, 0x00 }, "subsystem-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0xea, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, "revision-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x09, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } AAPL,ig-platform-id was the key to get the HD4000 kext's to load. No go without it. Lastly you may want to modify AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext. I'm using the macmini5,1 definition, so this is my edit: <key>Mac-8ED6AF5B48C039E1</key> <dict> <key>IGPU</key> <dict> <key>Heuristic</key> <dict> <key>EnableOverride</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>ID</key> <integer>2</integer> </dict> <key>control-id</key> <integer>16</integer> <key>max-power-state</key> <integer>10</integer> <key>min-power-state</key> <integer>0</integer> </dict> </dict> Good luck! :wink2: Cinebench R11.5 is around 23fps with 12A256 btw.

  8. Hello, My Laptop is Dell 5520 CPU: Intel Core i7-3612QM Graphics: Intel HD4000 and AMD Audio: Conexant CX20672 How can I install graphics and sound driver?
  9. Pre-requistites: 1) Mac OS X Mountain Lion Install App from app store 2) MyHack (other tools may also be used) 3) Required Kexts [included in the package] 4) An 8 GB or higher USB Flash Drive 5) A (Mac/Hack)intosh installation (preferably Lion) 6) Some time 7) And Ofcourse an Acer Aspire e1-571 Processor : Core i3/i5/i7 Graphics Card : Intel HD3000/HD4000 Audio Card : ALC271x Trackpad : ElanTech What's Working: 1) The CPU Ofcourse 2) The Graphics Cards with full QE/CI 3) Sound works perfectly including mic 4) The ElanTech Trackpad works with multitouch gestures. What's Not Working: 1) Wifi (Card must be replaced ) 2) Broadcomm Ethernet 3) SD Card Reader Procedure: 1) Open up Disk Utility and Partition the Intallation USB Flash drive with GUID Partition and Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) …. Name it USB[this is important] . 2) Open up MyHack and let it do it's magic....the process will take about 10 – 20 mins. Drop the E1-571 folder that I uploaded into the installation media. 3) Make sure the Installer Flash drive is named USB and is mounted...Open up terminal and type: “ cd /Volumes/USB/System/Library/Extensions” 4) Then type in: “sudo mkdir Temp” 5) Then : “sudo mv AppleIntelHD* AppleIntelSNB* Temp” 6) Now exit the terminal and reboot into the installation media and install OS X. 7) Once the installation is complete reboot into the installation media but this time select the partition where you installed OS X and boot with the boot flag -v. 8) Please be patient as removal of AppleIntelSNBFramebuffer.kext earlier will cause system to wait for it and he booting may take upto 8 – 10 mins. 9) Set up the OS X as normal and once you get to the Desktop open up the installation media and open kext wizard and install all the kexts in the folder that I uploaded (Make sure to remove VoodooPS2.kext and AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext). 12) Use Chameleon Wizard to install Chameleon with the option boot0hfs. 11) Reboot and enjoy... Files: These are the required files. MyHack can be downloaded from the site Btw if anything doesn't work please let me know... Cheers @k@tsuk!777
  10. Hello, thank you to those who came to read the post, the problem is basically the title, I have a notebook with a i5-3210M, HD4000 and GT640M, OSX use it for some time and recently bought a monitor and am trying to enable the display and the monitor simultaneously. I Did these tests changing the value ig-platform-id: all 0x0166000Y where Y ranges from 0 to B values, I believe that these are all the possible values for notebook, I tested all of these values with the nvidia on and off (with DSDT ) with patch in AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext and unpatched, the results are the same, I get HDMI accelerated with the value 0x01660003 and the notebook screen with acceleration with the value 0x01660004, the other values i get the screen without acceleration or HDMI with defective image, but in none of the tests I got the screen and HDMI simultaneously, even without acceleration or faulty image . Does anyone have any idea how I can have the display and HDMI simultaneously or can point me something to help? Thanks.

  12. Here's a guide on how to install OS X El Capitan 10.11 with the GA-Q77M-D2H motherboard. Since there are many general guides and instructions, I will try to keep this specific to this motherboard. FRESH INSTALL BIOS SETTINGS //Just a few changes from default, all the others can remain unchanged OS - Other OS (UEFI Only) //If you want to boot on with UEFI devices VT-d - Disabled SATA - AHCI XHCI - Auto or Smart Auto MAKING THE CLOVER USB INSTALLER Make a 10.11 USB install key using terminal //There are many guides out there Download and install Clover to the USB drive and check the following options, all the others can be unchecked. Install for UEFI booting only Install Clover in the ESP Drivers64UEFI //Only check the one below, all others can be left unchecked OsxAptioFix2Frv-64 HFSPlus.efi //You will have to download this separately FSInject.efi //Clover automatically puts this in drivers64uefi OsxFatBinaryDrv-64.efi //Clover automatically puts this in drivers64uefi KEXTS //Place in EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.11 AppleIntele1000e.kext FakeSMC.kext CONFIGURING CLOVER FOR INSTALL Next go to the EFI partition of your USB drive and edit the config.plist in the /EFI/CLOVER Clover Configurator is good for editing the config.plist. I uncheck everything else except what's below. There aren't too many options for this board. Most of it will be blank. Also, I suggest physically removing any GPUs with this motherboard. I've found that if I install or upgrade with my GPU in the motherboard I get an annoying slowdown at each boot. When I have done fresh installs using the HD4000 and then reinstall the GPU after things are running well, the slow boot is gone. ACPI Drop OEM SSDT //Unchecked unless you're using a SSDT (Not required for installation) HaltEnabler=True //I don't think this board needs this but it doesn't hurt Generate P-States //Check if not using a DSDT and SSDT (Not required for installation) Generate C-States //Check if not using a DSDT and SSDT (Not required for installation) BOOT -v dart=0 //In case VT-d is enabled in bios, this disables it. XMP Detection=1 //For 1600mhz RAM DEVICES USB > High Current All Fake ID = 0x0 Audio=3 //Not required for installation but imo is the best layout for this mobo GUI Inject Intel //Need if you're booting with the HD4000, remove once GPU is installed KERNEL KEXT/PATCHES Trim patch //To enable trim on your SSD or use "sudo trimforce enable" in terminal RT VARIABLES ROM: Calculated using these methods MLB: Calculated using these methods BooterConfig=0x28 CsrVariables=0x3 SMBIOS I used 14,2 for the install but 13,2 for my everyday SMBIOS. Depends on your CPU though. I tried 6,1 and 3,1 and it would always hang at waiting for Bluetoothcontroltransport. SYSTEM PARAMETERS Inject Kexts=yes Inject System ID=yes USB I had USB 3.0 work OOB. I had a little trouble with one USB 2.0 port. I couldn't figure it out and just physically moved my front panel USB connector to a working hub. Not sure why that one isn't working as it shows up correctly in DSDT and IO Reg. I messed with the IOUSBHostFamily.kext plist as described in this post and lost all of my USB 2.0 ports. I strongly recommend if you're going to try any adjustments that you back up that kext first. Once I reinstalled the native kext and cleared the cache that USB 2.0 hub started working again. AUDIO The Q77M has ALC887 codec and Toleda's CloverALC script works well. I usually use Audio ID/Layout 3. When upgrading, audio is usually lost and redoing that script fixes it. HDMI audio works with DSDT patches, I found RampageDev's patches have worked the best for me. SLEEP Seems to work properly. DISPLAYS I found the HD4000 has very poor quality graphics. I suggest getting a dedicated GPU. I've always used Nvidia cards with this motherboard and generally they work pretty well. I currently have a GTX 970 and run 2 displays through HDMI and DVI. Both work very well. During the boot sequence, I do get the progress bar in the lower left hand corner after the White Apple logo with the black background goes away. DSDT/SSDT Speedstep appears to be working well a generated SSDT. I used Piker's AppleIntelInfo.kext to check it. Since I haven't found any other DSDT's for this board I attached mine. The board really doesn't need one except to get HDMI audio working and clean up a few things. The attached one has Toleda's Clean Compile Intel 7 Series Patches + Rehabman's Nvidia HDMI audio patch + GFX0 > IGPU + PJALM's Basic Apple Name Fixes + PJALM's 10.11 USB fixes. So far seems to be working well with 10.11. IMESSAGE/FACETIME Confirmed working. UPGRADE STEPS I haven't had much success upgrading OS X with this motherboard; I usually have to do a fresh install. I think if the GPU is removed and the upgrade is completed with the integrated HD4000 graphics it works better. If I try to upgrade with the GPU (even just physically installed but not being used, ie with nvda_disable=1) I have found that it causes slow boots. Maybe doing the upgrade without the card installed will prevent that from happening? I suggest doing any upgrades with iMac 14,2 SMBIOS, especially if not using a GPU. If using a GPU, immediately after the upgrade is working, upgrade to the newest webdrivers (if nvidia), adjust your config.plist (nvda_drv=1, remove inject intel), shut down the system, adjust graphics in BIOS to PEG, shut down again, then install the GPU, and finally restart. Hope this helps some out there. DSDT_PATCHED_Q77M.aml.zip
  13. Hello guys, i have a Asus S400CA which has a realtek alc269 (i know this codec is pretty common and there are a lot variations of this codec) and i tried all of mirone kexts for el capitan. All of them doesn't really work. Some of which are internal speakers work but headphone jack doesn't where others is completely doesn't work at all. So i've been using voodoohda as I'm not competence in patching an applehda for my codec. The drawback of using voodoo is that whenever i plug in the headphone i have to manually switch the sound to headphone in sys pref. And hdmi audio doesn't work. So I managed to found a guide by Allan to enable hd4000 audio:http://www.hackintoshosx.com/topic/21732-guide-enable-hdmi-audio-intel-hd-4000/but the problem is that i don't know what is my ig-platform id connector in hexadecimal number? The guide doesn't have the hexadecimal number for my ig-platform-id. Im using clover boot loader and my ig-platform id is 0x01660003. Basically my hdmi is working just that no audio coming out of the tv. Thank you very much
  14. The machine is an Asus x301a with hd4000 graphics. This is what happens if I plug the external monitor and boot: https://youtu.be/t73txs_eHZo The PC posts to external monitor, then after DSMOS arrives and framebuffers are initialized the internal screen lights up but no image is shown, image only in the external monitor This is what happens if I plug the external HDMI after post at clover menu or even when the system is loaded. https://youtu.be/mbCwRfDsDLI internal already lit and image is shown after DSMOS and framebuffer initialization. Setting primary display to IGFX in bios doesn't change behavior. Any clue?
  15. Hi guys, I've just faced with a strange problem of lacking QE/CI acceleration on a fresh 10.10.4 install on my Samsung NP900x3c, i7 ivy, HD4000, 1920x1080, ALC269VC, no dsdt patches, Clover 3259 bootloader. The thing is that with the same Clover config I can boot 10.9 and have full acceleration while 10.10 is booting but no QE/CI. Another thing is that 10.9 provides desktop and QE/CI only with the following ig-platform-id: 0x01660002 0x01660008 and 0x01660009, other ig-platform-id prevents 10.9 from booting, while 10.10 provides fully functional desktop with any ig-platform-id but no QE/CI at all I attached clover config, darwindump and ioreg of 10.10 Any help would be very much appreciated Thank you, Dmitry config.plist.zip Dmitry’s Samsung clover-only.zip DarwinDumper_2.9.8_Clover_X64_3259_Yos_dima.zip

    HD4000 - VGA

Salve a tutti ragazzi! Grazie mille in anticipo a tutti
  17. Chameleon and Enoch Intel gma Injector During last week I redesign part of the Intel Injector (gam.c/gma.h) due to the new hardware (Haswell) still need some few TEST and TESTER and than those changes are ready to be committed into Chameleon main trunk code. FIRST OF ALL I rename the key flag (thx Micky1979 and bcc9 (also read his topic here: http://www.insanelym...ng-displayport/)): - For Ivy Bridge the old keyflag HD4K-ig is now deprecated the new name is IntelCapriFB (match with Apple kext name for that hardware) ex: IntelCapriFB=a_value from 0 to 11 - For the Haswell the recently introduced key flag HD5K-ig is also deprecated and the new name is IntelAzulFB (Same things... match with Apple kext) ex: IntelAzulFB=a_value from 0 to 16 - For the Broadwell the key name is IntelBdwFB (Same things... match with Apple kext) ex: IntelBdwFB=a_value from 0 to 18 I also introduced the ability to inject a custom AAPL,ig-platform-id for those kind of gfx (Ivy, Haswell and Broadwell) the keyflag is InjectIntel-ig ex: InjectIntel-ig=09006601 (a flipped 01660009) The priority is: 1° InjectIntel-ig 2° IntelXxxxFB 3° the default setting (based on BIOS memory for Ivy, and default ig for Haswell and Broadwell) Example of data into org.chameleon.Boot.plist <key>InjectIntel-ig</key> <string>09006601</string> <key>IntelCapriFB</key> <string>9</string> <key>IntelAzulFB</key> <string>9</string> <key>IntelBdwFB</key> <string>9</string> ErmaC Click here to view the article

    Intel HD4000 inject help

Hi, i'm having trouble getting my Intel HD4000 work with full QE/CI. I'm using chameleon boot loader, inserted IntelCapriFB=3, so i got Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB. Using the Kext Wizard, under loaded kexts i can see that only FramebufferCapri kext is loaded, IntelHDGraphics and IntelHD4000 kext are not loading. I've read that inserting value into DSDT can solve the graphics acceleration problem. I opened MaciASL and click compile, got one error, since i have no experience here, i will need your help resolving the error and injecting the HD4000 code to be able to get my graphics card to work properly. I attached screenshots, the chameleon plist and the DSDT code in a txt file. Thanks in advance. DSDT.rtf Chameleon.rtf
  19. Hey Forum... I succesfully installed Yosemite on my Lenovo G580 laptop. It seems to work fine, but i got a problem with the graphics. It only shows 4 mb of vram. Because of that is it very laggy, and i have tried a lot to enable the graphics, but nothing has worked. Intel Graphics HD4000 is intergraded in the laptop... Hope that somebody can help me... Thanks.
  20. Dell Inspiron 7720 non-3D HD 4000 has a id of 01660009 I cannot get HDMI or VGA signal through their ports and in clover, it only emulate one port in the options. Please help edit the Frambuffer
  21. I have been trying this out for five days, but my HD4000 is very tough. My laptop is ASUS N76V: 3630QM (HD4000) + Geforce635M + HM76 + DDR3 4GBx2 + HDD + SSD + other trivial hardware info (maybe) I have two systems: Win 7 + Mavericks 10.9.5. I used Niresh 10.9 and updated it myself. I am using the latest Chameleon (rev.2510) to boot. I used to use Clover (also the latest) and GPT+EFI to boot. Still the same Graphic problem. Now the system knows GPU memory is 1024MB, and QE/CI is enabled. BUT! My screen only displays the left half of the screen. When I open many windows, the screen does not flash nor go crazy, so I conclude the graphic card is "working well". Anyone could help me, please? I have been dying trying. Thanks a lot! My o.c.b.p is this <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EnableDualLink</key> <string>No</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1600x900x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>InjectIntel-ig</key> <string>03006601</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v npci=0x2000 dart=0</string> <key>SkipNvidiaGfx</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> I do read a LOT threads from the BBS in my country, but no one figures this out. I wish I could have solutions here. Thx! Gary
  23. First of all, hello guys and thanks in advance for your support. I desperately need your help. I have a laptop, Acer E1-570 where I successfully managed to install Niresh Mavericks 10.9 I have Chameleon bootloader and at first the system didn't want to boot. It only booted with -x boot flag that's it safe mode. After some advices around forums, I removed all the kexts files relating the graphics from /System/Extensions/Library and now it's booting fine without any boot flag but I have no internet and no graphic acceleration. The graphic card is correctly identified but no kext are loaded. As I said, I have the HD 4000 integrated graphic card and I don't know what to do to install the correct kext file. I tried everything but every time I install the AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext , Mavericks won't boot and I don't know what boot flag should I use but I tried almost anything. Could you please, please, give a hand with this? Thanks again guys
  24. My situation is really strange. I installed Windows 8.1 and Mavericks in one hard disk drive with three partitions, one for each operating system and one just for storage purpose. Since my wireless network card (BCM943142HM) is not usable in OS X, I bought a USB Wifi Adapter (TP-LINK TL-WN725N) so that I could access internet. But when I use a lot of internet bandwidth (downloading torrents) the computer freezes completely. So I decided to work heavy internet use in Windows and just specific tasks on OS X. I’ve been using my computer in this way for almost 8 months without any additional issues. But recently I found somewhere that in order to stop the random freezes caused by the high internet’s bandwidth use, I had to disable Spotlight. So I did it, but the freezes continued. However I noticed that I could use the computer for a longer period of time before it froze again. So here is the problem. Yesterday, after some of this freezes I restarted the computer and now it beeps 8 times while booting indicating a display problem according to Dell, and the display shows up like this while booting and in Windows: But inside OS X the screen turns off. When I perform the display test according to Dell (holding down the D key and then pressing the Power button to turn on the computer) it shows solid colours indicating that the display panel is working correctly. Right now I’m using an external monitor connected to the HDMI port which is working correctly in both operating systems. Inside OS X it’s like there is no display panel connected to the graphics adapter, and in Windows it detects the display panel as a generic monitor. I’m really concerned about this. I know this is not a common problem, so I would appreciate any help!
  25. UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is now very possible to boot my installer straight off the laptop itself! (Instead of swapping out hdds and stuff) Just install a kext from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/genericusbxhci/. From what I've found, Sony's motherboard uses XHCI to manage even the USB 2.0 drives. With this kext in place in /S/L/E in my OSX Installer, all three ports (USB2 + 3 + 3) work now. P.S. I am using OSX 10.9 Installer but this should work with ML too. Hi Everyone! I managed to get my Sony Vaio SVS1311FGS (Vaio S 2012 Series) on working with Mountain Lion DP4! Spec: i5-3210M (somehow unrecognized, cpuid model not found etc, but works) Intel HD 4000 (main GPU for OSX, works fully *details later below) NVIDIA Geforce GT-640M (Optimus cards are useless for Mac. However, I would like to know how to disable it via DSDT.) Realtek 10EC:8168 Ethernet card (work in progress, I haven't searched deeply for a 64-bit kext that would load in ML) Intel Wifi Card (garbage. I'm using a RTL8192SU USB dongle) Sound Card (lol, I don't know the model, but it works fine with VoodooHDA) (Should be the Intel HD Audio) Notes Beforehand: You cannot plonk in a USB OSX Installer made from either: ######, MyHack or any other USB solution. The absence of a BIOS mod (which I would have avoided anyway) to enable AHCI to get the USB Installer to recognize itself renders using USB Installers useless I'm not sure about using DVDs. I used a Sandy Bridge laptop to act as the installing machine instead. I switched their hard drives and got the thing to work, as my Sandy Bridge is hackintosh-friendly You need a special bootloader. No Chameleon-ML, No Chimera 1.10. You need those special ones OSX CANNOT BOOT FROM UEFI MODE. I use UEFI to go into Windows and Legacy into Mac. YOU MIGHT RUN INTO TROUBLE TRYING TO ENABLE CLICKING ON TRACKPAD. I've somehow managed to enable mine through the keyboard Steps: Partition the hard drive on any partition program (u can use diskpart or Disk Management from Windows itself) Remove it and place it into another machine where the USB Installers have successfully booted Get OSX installed. The hard drive is in a GPT format due to UEFI, no modding of Installer needed. When the hard drive is placed back into the Vaio S, get into the BIOS through F2 at boot and change Booting Mode into 'Legacy' and Place 'External Device' before 'Internal Hard Drive' in boot priorities THE NEXT STEP REQUIRES AN EXISTING MAC, to install the custom bootloader on the USB device. Get the USB Installer, insert it into the other Mac or Hackintosh and install http://blog.stuffedcow.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Chameleon-2.1svn-r2012.pkg, a bootloader by stuffedcow for HD 4000 users. Set the settings on the Installer as follows: Standard boot, GraphicsEnabler=Yes. Ignore the HDMIAudio, NVIDIA, ATI options. When you're done, navigate to the Extra folder on the USB stick, and place the DSDT.aml attached in the zip file in this folder. Boot the computer with this USB stick. When at the boot prompt for the OSX partition in the HDD, type: -v -f "Graphics Mode"="1366x768x32" HD4000PlatformId=3 This should get it all working. Fix Everything Up (Network, etc). Others: INTEL HD 4000 Credits: http://blog.stuffedcow.net/2012/07/intel-hd4000-qeci-acceleration/ The table for HD 4000 is there. Those platform-ids that start with 0166 are for mobile (ours). Those with 0162 are for desktops. If you wish to try the platform-id for the alphabets, a is 10 and b is 11. I've tested them and the platform-id 3 should work for ours. It enabled Internal Screen and HDMI. I'm researchiing on editing the connector info for VGA. Some info on connectors for HD 4000: http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/60010-official-hd-4000-support-11.html NVIDIA GeForce GT640M Useless. Optimus does not work on OSX and probably never will as Apple uses MUXes. Do Note that the Speed/Stamina switch can be switched to either option. OSX does not care. However, I'd like to know how to disable it via DSDT to save battery life. REALTEK 10EC:8168 CARD In progress. INTEL WIFI Nope. Nada. Intel wifi was never used by Apple. USB 2.0 This will work if you use the USBPackage attached. Install the files in the folder 1 first, before installing those in 2.USB3 is a work in progress by other people using Intel's USB3 Controllers, although some have worked by changing XHCI setting in their BIOSes (no such option for us) SOUND Use VoodooHDA for Mountain Lion. SLEEP Using the SleepEnabler for Mountain Lion, but haven't tested yet. TRACKPAD Mine is Synaptics, so it works. But sensitivity needs changing. DSDT.zip USBPackage.zip
