  1. Sorry for the vague subject line, but I think I have a hardware issue and I'm having trouble diagnosing it. This is a LONG post because I'm trying to explain what I tried and to give you all the info that I do have. History: This has been a successful Hackintosh for 2 years 2 months. I have not changed the OS (still running 10.11.4) just to avoid any problems. I have not changed the hardware other than GPU about a year ago, hard drives over time, and RAM about two weeks ago. (Keep that RAM in mind.) Hardware: Motherboard: ASRock Z170 OC Formula CPU: Intel i7-6700K RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB DDR4 @2400, replaced with Corsair 64GB DDR4 @2133 (but lower CAS latency) GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 PSU: CORSAIR AX760 760W 80+ Platinum CPU Heatsink: CORSAIR Hydro Series H105 Problem, Tuesday Night: Catastrophic death. Just shut down, couldn't get it up. I spent over two hours midnight–2am, then another hour after I got up in the AM, determining that the heatsink pump had died. To make a three hour story short, the errors on the motherboard were all related to RAM, but it had been running fine with the new RAM for 10 days. I put in the old RAM and got the computer to boot, and then I heard that the fans were going full-tilt and saw the CPU temperature at just under boiling. And it shut down. I determined it was the pump and not motherboard because the pump did not turn on when I moved it to a header on the motherboard that had just been powering a fan that was fine. So I ordered a new CPU cooler and installed it yesterday. Problem, Sunday Night: It was running fine for a day, after installing the new CPU heat sink. We had a brown-out in the morning which apparently did NOT trip any UPS in the house, and the computer restarted. Seemed fine, then tonight (11 hrs after the brownout), I went to make dinner, came back and all the fans were going and the computer wasn't on. The light on the Corsair pump was flickering. Trying to Diagnose: So, with the light flickering, I thought maybe it was the motherboard after all, and the CPU fan 1 was just dead (or dying). No problem, moved it to CPU fan 2 and moved the fans for the heatsink to chassis 2 and tweaked the fan speeds in the BIOS (I was able to boot to it) and ... couldn't boot. I can get to the BIOS. I can start getting to the Mac OS, but I can't actually boot fully. The motherboard is cycling between error codes 00 and 19, which from what I can find means CPU (00) or RAM (19). I have tried powering the whole system down (on the PSU) for awhile, going back to the old RAM (works but then same error code on reboot), and even going to a passive heatsink I had in storage. Why this May Be a Hackintosh Question: I have a pattern now to diagnose. After hitting the restart a few times, I can get into the BIOS, no longer getting the 00/19 error on the motherboard. I can get to the Clover boot menu, at which point the diagnostic LED on the motherboard turns off. I can start the Mac OS, it spits out a bunch of diagnostic stuff, and then freezes, and the lights on the motherboard turn back on and flash between the 00 and 19 errors and the display shuts off. I get to the same spot in the Mac OS startup, and that's when it shuts down. To me, from the zero that I know about this, it looks like it's saying there's a CPU error. Meaning I may have fried the CPU (or motherboard? or both?) during that initial CPU cooler failure five days ago. I have attached a screenshot from the video I took of the screen while starting up the last time. CMOS Reset: I tried doing this as an addendum, after taking pictures of every screen in the BIOS so I could restore. The reset definitely reset the BIOS, I got it to boot to the BIOS again, but I'm stuck at the same death point as in the screenshot. The ONLY difference is that now instead of just stopping there, it goes black for a few seconds and returns to the BIOS option screen (F2 for BIOS, F11 for Boot, etc.), and then tries to boot the Mac OS again. Fails at the same point again, the only difference each time is that in that "Backtrace (CPU #) ..." line, the # changes, and the com.apple.lokit.IOBluetoothHostController... hex stuff is different. Help!? Do I need a new motherboard and CPU? Fortunately, everything is backed up hourly, and on my laptop, and the HDDs should still be fine.

  4. Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm a little lost ... I am looking for a shopping guide (a bit like tonymac which is very good, I come here because of an ethical problem of tonymacs http://goo.gl/WdPxAy). I currently have a machine with the following config: CPU i5-4570 Mb Asus H87M-PLUS RAM 16GB Kingstone HyperX Blue SSD Intel 128GB GPU Gainware Nvidia GTX 650 Ti It works pretty well apart few random crashes ... It was installed with *beast tools... I manually installed and configured clover and I want to make a new machine with a clean and much more advanced installation. I wanted a multibooting to Win10 Pro and Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3 (in preference but it can be Sierra 10.12 for stability) I started looking at material: CPU i7-7700K Mb Gigabyte Aorus GA-Z270X-GAMING K5 / Gigabyte GA-Z270N-WIFI / Gigabyte GA-B250M-D3H / Gigabyte GA-H270M-DS3H RAM HyperX Fury Noir 16 Go (2x 8Go) DDR4 2133 MHz CL14 SSD Samsung 840 EVO 256GB Sata III GPU Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 OC Low Profile 2G What do you think about this ?
  5. Hi colleagues Need your help. Is it possible at all to make fully working hackintosh machine? I tried to make something fast, so I took gigabyte z270n wifi mb with 7700 cpu and apple native wifi/bt and gt1030 video (the only card that fits my case and supports 4k@60Hz) but still cannot make sleep working. Have a lot of issues like sometimes it becomes slow and unresponsive, and sometimes WindowServer crashes and so on. I tried some dsdts that have been made for me here (thank you for your help, guys!) but with no success. I also tried to make a custom patches myself with the same result tried different bios settings, clover settings, kernel parameters, but all of this didn't no help. So, I suppose it's probably some hw issue and my hw is just incompatible. My question is - could somebody share the fully working hardware configuration and does such exists at all? With working sleep and without these annoying crashes, based on some modern fast chipsets like z270/370 and 7/8 series CPU? Maybe even hibernate - is it possible to have a working hibernate with clover/10.13? Or at least sleep? Thank you!

    Bluetooth & WiFi n00b

Hi All, New to the forum and hackintoshing. I have built TonyMacX's mini deluxe with the GA-Z87N-WIFI mobo and am running Mavericks/10.9.4. WiFi apparently is a no go and it turns out the bluetooth has serious issues. I had it working at one point, but now it's gone AWOL and from all I have read it doesn't look like anyone has got it going properly. My situation: I don't really *need* WiFi, it would be a nice extra. I need bluetooth only because I have a wireless mouse I rather like (in fact I had to borrow this wired mouse )! Can someone introduce me to this world of WiFi & BT on hackintosh? I found Toleda's guide and read a few other threads. Is there a plug and play option available to me? I want to minimise any additional software fixes to avoid agony when I inevitably update the OS. It seems like the only plug and play for BT is a dongle, such as GMYLE – is that right? I am very fond of the little aerial that came with my mobo and I had hoped to simply replace the card on the mobo, which I think is a mini-PCIe? Are there any options better than the one's Toleda mentions? Probably really obvious stuff, but I'd love some help from someone more experienced. Thanks for reading.
  7. Hello, guys. I’m writing to You as a more experienced and knowledgeable. And I ask for Your help in solving the following question: It’s need to build a efficient hackintosh mod to work with graphics (2D, 3D, graphic renders and so on). Budgets: 6000$ Specs: Motherboard - ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS CPUs – 2xXeon E5-2630 or 2xXeon E5-2670 GPUs – 2 way SLI Nvidia GTX Titan (In the future it’s planned to expand to 3 way SLI) Questions: Is this motherboard good for hackintosh? Or there are a better motherboards? What can you advise to buy? There is a official CUDA GTX Titan drivers for Mac OS. How do you think if 2 way SLI or 3 way SLI works at hakintosh? Is it better to buy the native Nvidia GPU for best compatibility with Mac OS? Or no difference? For example, can I buy the overlock GPU Titan other manufacturers (ASUS, EVGA and so on)? Should I buy RAM more than 1600 Mhz bacause the motherboard supports up to 2133 Mhz (non-registered memory) and up to 1866 Mhz (registered memory)? Whether does Mac OS support 16 Gb one module RAM? (the motherboard supports up to 256 Gb registered memory). Please, help me. Thanks for your time and attention!

Agradeco alguma ajuda...
  11. I`m using a haswell CPU on z87 motherboard with a GTX1060.(hd4600 deact.) SMBIOS iMac14,2 Mac-27ADBB7B4CEE8E61 10.13 (17A405) with web driver 378. My English is not very good, After I read these links I'm still very confused. https://sourceforge.net/p/nvidiagraphicsfixup/svn/HEAD/tree/trunk/FAQ.md https://github.com/vit9696/Shiki/blob/master/Manual/FAQ.en.md https://github.com/vit9696/Shiki/issues/5 Seems like shiki.kext should be use after hardware video decoding works? But in the nvidiagraphicsfixup faq it says:To get hardware video decoding you are likely to need shiki. I try to install lilu.kext and nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext but doesn`t work. when i running ioreg | grep IMEI and ioreg -l | grep platform-id there is no output. What kext do I need?(nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext imac.kext shiki.kext ...) It is necessary to enable the builtin Intel GPU hd4600? I will appreciate for your reply.

  15. Hi guys. I've bought BCM94331CSAX with PCIeX1 adapter for this combo being the chipest and for reasons I don't really need fastest WiFi possible. Heck my router is still 54g Anyway I was lucky and card and adaptor seems to came flawless. Since I am using MacPro3,1 SMBIOS I was not getting Handoff and few other OOB and had to apply CAT which enabled everything. Then I've found that BT signal level is really low. BT speaker i have is dropping sound like crazy if put more then two meters from antenna. While researching a bit I have found that middle connector on the card is for BT. Also I've found that turning WiFi on card off is greatly improving RSSI of Bluetooth connection – my BT speaker can be as far as 5-6 meteres after that. Also turning off router (with WiFI in 2.4GHz) do the same — improves RSS of BT. So my question is can you guys with those cards in topic attest to my finding. Or correct them because now I wonder if CD (iMac) versions of the cards are better in regards of simultanious work of BT and WiFi since those cards are actually bigger themselves. Thank you P.S. Screenshots shows how turning WiFI off improves BT connection
  16. HI GUYS! I'm new here so I don't know if I post in the wrong section but here's my question: I have a PC assembled by me with these hardware: CPU: Intel Pentium G2030, 3 GHz Motherboard: Asus H61M-k GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6600, 300MHz of clock GPU and 500MHz of clock memory, it is a NV43 RAM: kingston 4Gb Hard Disk: Seagate ST500DM0 500Gb Can I install Hackintosh with this configuration? If i can what version should I install on it? Thanks a lot! PS. Have a good 2014!

  19. Hi there, I recenly installed L2 on my PC and I faced the following problem Unsupported chip ID=0x7 REVISION=0x23 My motherboard model is MSI H55M-P31 with Intel Core i3 530 with integrated graphics. I guess it's graphics problem but I'm not sure. I couldn't find information by googling. Maybe anyone knows what it is? Edit: I also installed grub afterwards, but before I did it, I was stuck at splash screen with some corrupted jazzy music (booted with Chimera). Cheers.
  20. I already own an iMac, but I recently got an used Powermac G5 (The previous to the Mac Pro). And I thought… Why not install a Hackintosh inside? So here I am, wanting your advice for which components to use, I've seen way a lot, of projects whit this case, so I know what I want. I don't need a powerful computer as it will be plugged to a TV as a media center (VGA-HDMI needed), also running as a server and many other things which don't need a lot of power. About the motherboard, better if it is not very big as I want to maintain the rear part containing all the connectors (linked to the Mobo with cables) maintaining the original looking. Also it has to be a cheap computer as I don't plan a lot of use, but it is a fun project to accomplish and the case is awesome So please tell me which components should I put into this awesome computer

    Meu hardware roda o Lion?

Olá a Todos amigos do Forum, este é o meu primeiro post aqui. Estou ansioso e muito intenciosado a fazer o meu primeiro hackintosh. Estou realmente cansado do Windows por diversos fatores. Bom mas vamos ao que importa, abaixo segue minha configuração e gostaria de saber o que devo fazer pra instalar o Os X. Procesador: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66GHz - MMX, SSE (1, 2, 3, 3S, 4.1), EM64T, VT-x Placa Mãe: Gigabyte G31M-S2C - Chipset: P35/G33/G31 - Southbridge: 82801GB (ICH7/R) Memória: 4GB DDR2 - 400MHz Placa de Vídeo: NVIDIA Geforce GT 520 2GB HD: IDE 60GB Atualmente tenho um HD SATA de 500GB aonde tenho instalado o Windows 7 (Não posso formata-lo agora), eu quero instalar o OSX em outro HD, que é um IDE de 60GB, é possível? Como faço Dual Boot neste caso? Eu baixei o iATKOS_L2 - MD5 = c1f92e1e19bffa947871f082e1f231fd Se alguém puder ajudar ae, agradeço muito. Abraço

    Would my build run Lion?

My specs are the following: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 @1.8Ghz 3GB RAM nVidia GT220 1GB DDR2 Intel I945 Motherboard w/ Intel Pro 100/VE NIC I'm not sure if Lion can run because other builds only somewhat worked since my network card has always been incompatible, could someone help me with this? Never got a OS X build more than like 40% working.
  23. So after searching around on & off for 2 days with hardly any results, I thought it would be really convenient to have a list of laptop PCIe half mini cards that would be Lion-compatible. I currently have a thinkpad W520 and looking to swap the one in there (I think it's a realtek). From the looks of this: http://www.notebookreview.com/shared/picture.asp?f=58155 it doesn't look like it would take any other style of card. Any suggestions or successful attempts, please leave em here!
