  3. Recommended GPU for SR-2 board?

Hey guys, I am new to the hackintosh world and am looking for some GPU advice. I currently have a EVGA SR-2 board with dual x5680s. I am trying to pair up a decent GPU for the board but am having a little trouble. I own a GTX 970 in another PC that works well for my design applications and the bit of gaming I do. Hoping to make this machine my new main machine so I need the equivalent. The SR-2 board only has PCI Express x16 ports. The EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti SC 2GB seems to be popular on amazon but only has 2GB of RAM I'm looking for a 4GB card or I can run SLI across multiple cards. Thanks, Kevin
  4. Hi there, im currently upgrading my System and i'm looking for a new/better Graphics Card to get rid of my old GT640. I had Nvidia Cards my entire life now, so I got used to them, but I've heard that AMD Radeon Graphics Cards aren't that bad either. And they are cheap, as I heard xD But I have really no clue where to start. I'm looking for a Graphics Card somewhere around 200€. It should be compatible with OSX 10.11 and support the newest Games on Windows with a decent resolution. But I don't need to play Games on Ultimate haha. Im currently using both the dedicated NVIDIA and the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 simultaneously. So this also should be possible Has someone an Idea which Graphics Card would be the best? Thanks in advance.
Obrigado!

  8. Hello Community, Yesterday the following problem appeared: Final Cut Pro X crashes randomly when importing media or editing projects. System Information: Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Proc: Intel i5 3570k Graphic: ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II OC OS: Mac OS Yosemite - 10.10.3 Software: Final Cut Pro X 10.2.1 Drivers: Nvidia Nvidia Web Driver - 346.01.02f04 - Set to use OSX Drivers in nVidia Control Panel System Definition: MacPro5,1 I attached the crash files which contain sometimes different errors but always an Graphics Card error. I selected four of them for all of the following scenarios. I had the nVidia Web Drivers installed and uninstalled them for a test, but the crashes where still there. I then switched to the nVidia Web Drivers usage from OSX native in the nVidia control panel, but the error was there again. Switching from my iMac System Definition to the MacPro5,1 Definition has not resolved the problem. After that I decided to update my Final Cut Pro X from 10.2 to 10.2.1 but no changes at all. As of today i reinstalled my Sapphire HD 5670 ATI card, but the problem still persists. Not so often, but it already happened again 30 Minutes ago. Some Help would be great, so I can continue editing the Videos Thanks for any Help Yesterday, nVidia, FCPX 10.2,with OSX native Drivers Final Cut Pro_2015-06-27-235548_Steffens-Mac-Pro.crash.txt Today, nVidia, FCPX 10.2,with nVidia Drivers Final Cut Pro_2015-06-28-133113_Steffens-Mac-Pro.crash.txt Today, nVidia, FCPX 10.2.1,with OSX Drivers Final Cut Pro_2015-06-28-134842_Steffens-Mac-Pro.crash.txt Today, ATI, FCPX 10.2.1,with OSX Drivers Final Cut Pro_2015-06-28-144117_Steffens-Mac-Pro.crash.txt
  9. Hello Guys, I recently bought an Nvidia based ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU 2 OC to upgrade my system. Now i connected my Screen via the DVI connector on the Card to my Monitor and set the BIOS to my PCI Express Graphics card. Now booting with -v works fine, but as soon as the boot process is over, my Monitor looses the Signal and turns off. I have tried using the onboard DVI with the Onboard BIOS Graphic Option, which lets me use the system and install the Nvidia Web Drivers (quite laggy of course). After Installing the Drivers i tried booting with the following Boot flags: -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v GraphicsEnabler=No -v GraphicsEnabler=No nvda_drv=1 -v GraphicsEnabler=No nvda_drv=1 PCIRootUID=0 -v GraphicsEnabler=No nvda_drv=1 PCIRootUID=1 But it always ends in the situation described above. I cannot try the HDMI Output as it is an miniHDMI Output and i do not have an adapter laying around, but i will try to buy one the next days, to see if the DVI Ports might be the issue (Still no real solution because my current Monitor only does have DVI or VGA).I am using the Chimera Bootloader v4.1.0] Build Date 2015-04-22 # 20:46:10. I tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes already, but there was only the signal lost. I would install and use Clover, but i am more familiar with Chameleon/Chimera so far. I have already searched for an Option to disable onboard Graphics at all, but there is none. In the South Bridge Section of my BIOS there is only onboard Audio to deactivate and Ethernet. It would be great if anyone experienced in Nvidia Cards on Hackintoshs could help me out here, as i have been using an AMD Radeon HD 5670 before which worked via the HDMI Port but only with settings the BIOS to the Onboard Card. I was using the following Definition: MacBook Pro (13 Inch, Mid 2010) because of the serial Number injected to make the App Store working, but changed it because of an advice to the Mac Pro 3,1 Definition. So I changed the system Definition to Mac Pro 3,1, added kext-dev-mode because of a kext for phone USB tethering and checked the GraphicsEnabler=Yes option, but the Problem is still there. As soon as the login screen should appear, the monitor looses its signal. Tried booting with GE Yes and GE No and with nvda_drv=1 But it was still worth a try Now after doing the above mentioned actions, Switching to Onboard Graphics does give a memory Allocation error, so i cant boot into the system anymore with the onboard graphics and with my PCIE graphics Card the signal is still lost when the loading screen should appear. Any Ideas? Thank You Guys System Information: Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Proc: Intel i5 3570k Graphic: ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II OC OS: Mac OS Yosemite - 10.10.3 Drivers: Nvidia Nvidia Web Driver - 346.01.02f04
  10. Nvidia GTX Titan X 12 GB for mac.

Hello people, I would like to hear opinions abouth this, I had found a seller on e-bay that charges $200 for modding a Nvidia GTX Titan X 12 GB PC to have it working for mac, is that a reasonable price?. Thanks.
  11. I have an ASUS Radeon HD7850 with 2GB of VRAM. I'm on Yosemite 10.10.2, using Clover. Yosemite only reports the GPU as a Radeon HD 7xxx 2048 MB, and I don't think it's being fully accelerated. I've been looking all over but I have no clue what to do. I've used tai-personality.pl, used radeon_bios_decoder, redsock_bios_decoder, and I've set Clover to inject ATI and use the Aji frame buffer. This made my computer screen go black after the boot bar, and sleeping and waking the computer did nothing - same with the Futomaki frame buffer. I downloaded a modded AMD7000Controller kext for an HD7850 and used inject ATI + Aji frame buffer, but when i restarted, my screen was not the right resolution, colors were off, everything was laggy. OS X reported the GPU as an HD 7850, but with only 7mb of VRAM, so obviously that kext was incompatible. What do I do for full acceleration? I've attached my DSDT, my radeon_bios_decoder output, and my redsock_bios_decoder output. EDIT: Turns out I wasn't in sleep mode. When the computer actually went to sleep and I used the Aji profile, and waked up the computer, the screen turned on and Yosemite reported it as an HD7850 2048 MB. So now I just need a solution on how to keep it this way, without having to always restart. Archive.zip
  12. For those who are troubling with XFX r9 280 (non x) can't entering Yosemite or boot loop. here is your "risky" solution. Voor woorden. Right b4 i thinking about giving up, something crossed my mind. Why not flash the bios. Since i kw R9 280 is rebranded hd7950 and i know HD7950 oob. So, I was set to looking for tutorial about Flashing ATI bios and at the meantime looking for a suitable Bios. After everything is settled. I started to flash the bios. 1. Atiwinflash (is what you must have) 2, check youtube (search How to flash ATI bios ) for tutorial on flashing bios 3, back up your current bios by GPU-z or Atiwinflash 4. download HD7950 XFX" http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/" 5. flash the bios , reboot your pc. 6. now, if you have installed yosemite, you should be able to enter mac os x . Be aware there are risks flashing Video card bios. including damage your video card make it useless . Don't intend doing it if you don't wanna take risks. And i won't take any 'credits' from your behaviour.
  13. Hello, I'm new to Hackintoshing and would appreciate some assistance. My Hardware specs are: Motherboard: AMD Crosshair V CPU: Phenom II 1090t RAM: 16GB DDR3 Graphics Card: Quadro FX 3800 HardDrive: Seagate 1TB I was successfully able to install OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 via my USB Yosemite(installation drive) using AMD kernel (1010-SSEPLUS-Rev.2) from this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302075-amd-yosemite-kernel-testing-for-help-use-the-help-topic/page-41 Currently I can get the system to boot from my hard drive installation via these flags: -x -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x3000 However, If I want to boot into the Yosemite installer on my USB drive, I type these flags: -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x3000 (Notice how if I boot into the Yosemite installer via the USB it does not require the safe mode -x flag.) Anyway, I also noticed that if I removed all of the nvidia kexts from S/L/E folder, I actually can boot into my Yosemite hard drive installation without the safe mode flag. However, this method isn't really a fix because I obviously want to use my Nvidia card drivers or else the entire desktop will be laggy and I won't have any graphics acceleration. Even if I place the nvidia kexts back into the S/L/E folder the system does not have graphics acceleration. However, when I check my the "About my MAC" it shows that my graphics card (Quadro Fx 3800) was detected properly. I also tried an AMD 5850 in the same machine, but same problem, would only get to the login screen if I boot via safe mode. If I do not use the safe mode flag when booting into my hard drive installation of Yosemite, I am stuck with the spinning color wheel cursor with a white background. Is there any way to achieve full graphics acceleration and boot into Yosemite without the safe mode flag? Am I experiencing two separate problems or are they related somehow?
  14. Hello! Does anyone know if R9 285 or R9 280 work OOB in Yosemite?I know for sure that R9 280X does, but I'm not sure about these two cards..I haven't found many topics in which they are mentioned, and I want to be sure that HDMI and DVI work OOB..has anyone tested them?I don't want to buy a graphics card and then have to return it and buy another one..

  19. Hello. My AMD Radeon HD 6870 graphics card just died today. I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.7.4 on an Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard. I'm now debating whether I should replace my card with another one of the same model and keep my system as is, or if I should just update my OS X to Mavericks and upgrade my graphics card along with it. I'm having a really hard time deciding because I can't find a list of Mavericks' natively supported graphics cards. I'm confused as to whether all AMD 7000 series cards are supported, or if I should consider an NVIDIA card for Mavericks. I'm a total noob and I would prefer to avoid messing with kexts and such, so if I decide to upgrade to Mavericks, I would like a graphics card that's natively supported. If I do upgrade, I would do so using Andy's method (found here). Can you guys help me decide for a good graphics card for Mavericks? I do a lot of video and photo editing, so I would like a robust card. However, I'm kind of in tight budget since I did spend some money over the holidays. Any Input would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  25. GPU runs at 100%

hey guys i just got done installing 10.8.2 on my custm pc and everything works after i install drivers and programs but my gpu seems to not be affected after i install the nvidia cuda or the webrelease drivers. i have a pny 9800gtx+ on my desktop and my laptop has the 9800m gs but my laptop works perfectly except the intel 5100 wifi card which will never work. on my laptop i've upgraded to 10.8.3 and before that i had installed the cuda drivers to make it work otherwise it'll get a no signal screen before it gets to the desktop. i tried the same method with my desktop but no matter what i always get the no signal, so im stuck on 10.8.2. the main problem is my gpu runs at 100% all the time and i can hear the noise which dont sound healthy. anyone with the same card or similar have got it working perfectly? ive tried searching "gpu runs at 100%" in search but no results. if anyone got a link to anything please let me know. thanks in advance:P EDIT- its not a gpu problem but a cpu problem. my fan spins at 100% well at least the noise makes it seem like it. and idles around 99%, take a look at the picture below. anyone with the same problem please gimme some tips.
