daniel_iversen posted a topic in OSx86 10.13 (High Sierra)Hi there, TL;DR; Any idea on how I can get an ATI Radeon HD5570 graphics card working on High Sierra? I just installed High Sierra, and I read it was supposed to be “Out of the Box” to get these AMD/ATI cards working, but it’s been very hard and I’ve read like 100 articles and done a million experiments to no avail. The card is built in to a HP TouchSmart 610-1030a touch screen PC, and the symptom/problem is: - I can at best get a decent resolution at best, but no acceleration (I'm testing with the Chess app but can visually see it everywhere) and the OS only detects 7MB memory whereas it has 1GB. I’ve tried a combination of: - OOTB (then there’s no detection really) - Clover setup in “Graphics” tab - combination of these settings: - Inject ATI - Load VBIOS/patch VBIOS - Entered my card details (what I thought) - vendor ID 0x1002, product ID 0x68d9, FBName “Eulemur” or “Baboon” Also; - I have Lilu.kext and WhateverGreen.kext - I've got the "EmuVariableUefi-64.efi" file deployed in my drivers64UEFI folder - Tried using “downgraded” (from Sierra) versions of kexts AMDRadeonX3000.kext, AMDRadeonX3000GL.Driver.bundle, IOAccelerator2D.plugin, IOAcceleratorFamily2.kext (I think my wifi disappeared with the IO ones which makes sense I suppose) At worst in the "About this Mac" it just says "Display 3MB" (and often with poor resolution), and at best it says "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5570 7 MB" but with no acceleration (and no recognition of the 1GB VRAM). Any ideas of what I’m supposed to do? I don’t really get all the stuff I read about patching and rolling my own kexts etc but my impression was that after Sierra I wasn’t supposed to do that for the AMD/ATI cards. Thanks a lot in advance!!
Hi I'm pretty much a newbie to the Hackintosh world and have just installed OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite onto my Asus Vivobook X202E Specs: Intel i3-3217U RAM 4gb HDD 500gb Intel HD 4000 Ivy Bridge Realtek ALC269 Swapped the original wifi card for the Atheros AR9285 So everything works fine, includes brightness, audio and other stuffs since I installed with the tool in this guide except for the graphics. The screen would just glitches every second. I tried changing the graphics ig-platform-id in Clover Configurator: originally 0x01660003, changed into 0x0166000a since the DVMT memory size in my BIOS says 32mb, and it just wouldn't boot, instead it restarts the machine and goes back to Clover right away. So I changed the ig-platform-id back to 0x01660003 in Clover Configurator and changed the DVMT memory size in my BIOS (thanks to Asus for letting users changing this without much of a job) to 64mb to fit the value of 0x01660003... This time, we say hello to a kernel panic. I know that I have to configure the DSDT with MacIASL, but I just don't know how and which specific line to fix since when I press compile there are only warnings. Please help. Thanks a lot. Here are my DSDT and config.plist config and DSDT.zip
Hello, am running sierra on a optiplex 780 with a pny gt 710. I followed a step by step guide here. My machine boots fine and actually shows that the pny 710 is recognized I have attached a link with proof. My issue is when I am doing anything that relates to video it artifacts and slows alot. I understand that this is a cheap graphics card but from what I read online it seems like the other hackintoshes dont have this issue with this card. I am wondering if you have had any similar problems or solutions to this. I also have attached my config file. I asked around on reddit and they said this could be related to the qe/ci. I am pretty new at this so I don't know how to enable this. I have installed the web drivers for 10.12.6 and that hasnt changed anything.
