  1. Verision 3 of the macOS Unlocker for VMware ESXi. Supports versions: ESXi 6.5 and 6.7 https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/964-macos-unlocker-v30-for-vmware-esxi/ https://github.com/DrDonk/esxi-unlocker/releases/download/3.0.0/esxi-unlocker-300.tgz https://github.com/DrDonk/esxi-unlocker/ readme.txt Please note that this will not work if Secure Boot is enabled on the ESXi host. This is by design where VMware restricts what can be run when booted using Secure Boot.
  2. Hi everybody, my first post in this forum. Has anyone been able to run macOS Mojave in ESXi 6.5? I have esxi 6.5.0 (Build 4887370) with unlocker 2.1. I have a High Sierra 10.13.6 running in esxi and I upgraded it to Mojave, but it didn't run. Has anyone been able to run Mojave in esxi? I haven't found any post related. Thanks!!!!
  3. Version 3.0.0

macOS Unlocker V3.0 for VMware ESXi =================================== 1. Introduction --------------- Unlocker 3 for ESXi is designed for VMware ESXi 6.5 and 6.7. The patch code carries out the following modifications dependent on the product being patched: * Fix vmware-vmx to allow macOS to boot * Fix libvmkctl to allow vSphere to control the guest The code is written in Python as it makes the Unlocker easier to run and maintain on ESXi. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | IMPORTANT: | | ========== | | | | Always uninstall the previous version of the Unlocker before using a new | | version. Failure to do this could render VMware unusable. | | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ 2. Installation --------------- Copy the distribution file to the ESXi host datastore using scp or some other data transfer system. Decompress the file from the ESXi console or via SSH: tar xzvf esxi-unlocker-xxx.tgz (xxx - will be the version number, for example, 300) Run the command from the terminal: ./esxi-install.sh Finally reboot the server. 3. Uninstallation ----------------- Open the ESXi console or login via SSH and chnage to the folder where the files were extracted. Run the command from the terminal: ./esxi-uninstall.sh Finally reboot the server. 4. Notes -------- A. There is a command added called esxi-smctest.sh which can show if the patch is successful. It must be run from a terminal or SSH session. The output should be: /bin/vmx smcPresent = true custom.vgz false 38725560 B B. The unlocker can be temporarily disabled during boot by editing the boot options and adding "nounlocker". 5. Thanks --------- Thanks to Zenith432 for originally building the C++ unlocker and Mac Son of Knife (MSoK) for all the testing and support. Thanks also to Sam B for finding the solution for ESXi 6 and helping me with debugging expertise. Sam also wrote the code for patching ESXi ELF files and modified the unlocker code to run on Python 3 in the ESXi 6.5 environment. The code is available at https://github.com/DrDonk/esxi-unlocker History ------- 26/09/18 3.0.0 - First release (c) 2011-2018 Dave Parsons
  4. Version 11.0.2

This is the current version of VMware Tools for OS X / macOS from the VMware CDS repository for Fusion 11.0.2 Please note: In the latest VMwareGfx.kext from Fusion 8.5.5 onwards VMware have discontinued the 2D-Acceleration code, and graphics performance is better now, thanks to Zenith432 for the update. To check for the latest version visit http://softwareupdate.vmware.com/cds/vmw-desktop/fusion/. The various VMware Tools downloads are located under the packages folder for each version. Instructions for extracting darwin.iso - Download the file above - Extract com.vmware.fusion.tools.darwin.zip.tar - darwin.iso is located in the "payload" folder com.vmware.fusion.tools.darwinPre15.zip.tar com.vmware.fusion.tools.darwin.zip.tar
  5. Hi, I`m using ESXi 5.5 U1 and Mavericks 10.9.4 VM. Creating clean install and start testing. I have been unable to get any bootloader to load after start Mac OS X VM (Mavericks 10.9.4). After installing and reboot VM going to default Mac screen, and if I make changes in bootloader, they do not reflect. Example installing on clean VM Chameleon (or other bootloader) and make changes (-v, loading kexts .. etc) and after reboot this changes do not reflect! Testing with Chimera, Chameleon and Clover. They don't work... Any ideas?
  6. Hey there, i'm new here, because yesterday the new hardware for my first ESXi Box ever arrived. I've bought the following components: -Intel S1200BTL, C204 -Intel Xeon E3-1230 -4 x KINGSTON 4GB DDR3 1333MHz ECC CL9 DIMM w/ TS Server Elpida C (KVR1333D3E9S/4GEC) So this afternoon i want to start with installing ESXi. But which version should I install for best compatibility: ESXI 4.1 or ESXi 5? When it's finished the Box should virtualize Windows SBS 2011 and Mac OSX Lion. Thanks in advance and greetings from Switzerland. MG
  7. Hello, I am not fitting inside the new macbook pro retina and thinking of buying more powerful mac but mac pro doesn't catch my mind so I did a quick research about solutions for my problem and found that I can get quite good performance running OS X on VMware ESXi on good hardware with VT-d and VMware DirectPath redirect GPU to OS X. So my question how good will run OS X on 2 x Intel Xeon E5 with 128GB RAM and AMD GPU on workstation/server motherboard? It's worth, it will be stable? Because performance of the new Mac Pro doesn't match my needs. Kind Regards, Aurimas
  8. Ok, so I was able to get my GTX 465 converted into a Quadro 4000. To test that everything was still working, I passed the card through to my Windows VM and Installed the Quadro Drivers. Everything worked as expected and played some Crysis 2 - both DVI and mini HDMI ports pass video successfully. Prior to this, I had installed the NVIDIA VIBs onto the ESXi host. However, when passing through my OSX Mavericks VM, the card is recognized but no video connection is detected, and nothing will appear on my monitor. I have also installed the latest Quadro Drivers from NVIDIA and have tried using both default and NVIDIA drivers on boot, neither will pass video to my monitor. Has anyone else been able to get their Quadro Cards working in an OS X VM? The reason I chose to do a quadro 4000, is to get as close to possible as a Quadro 4000 for Mac. I can if need be, setup the card as a Quadro 5000 or 6000. I would have my GTX 465 stock, however it won't work with PCIe Passthrough. Any help will be appreciated. Also, at the moment, I cannot use DSDTs as I cannot get a third party EFI boot loader to work, such as chameleon or clover.
  9. I'm Attempting to install ML (retail) in to a VM on ESXi vSphere 5.1 // HP Proliant Microserver N36L (AMD) but I'm having a mouse input issue. Followed the following guide, but I used the AMD kernel from the development thread: http://www.insanelym...-for-beginners/ As per the guide I used my retail ML dmg to restore to USB, installed chameleon, extracted the packages from basesystem, AMD_kernel from the AMD dev thread, FakeSMC r615 and NullCPUPowerManagement kexts. I went with iMac 10,1 for the SMBios. To run the install I extracted the USB to a dmg and uploaded it to a datastore then connected the cd drive to the dmg. VM is set for OS X 10.7 (highest it goes to, but apparently this works). I have also unlocked ESXi to run OS X on non-apple hardware (I have previously got OS X SL 10.6 running using the legacy kernel). My issue was the installer loads to the language selection menu, but with no mouse and keyboard support so I can't get any further. I have used USB Bus fix, Graphics enabler, Force 64bit, Ethernet Built in and cpus=1. (didn't work). I then started adding in kexts from my SL install with which I got a stable 10.60 install, (I did find that any tweaks on that previous system did cause it to loose mouse/keyboard input through the console and over vnc, so it seems to be pretty fussy): AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext ApplePS2Controller.kext IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext IOATAFamily.kext IONetworkingFamily.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext TotallyFixStillWaiting.kext fakesmc.kext I then got keyboard, but no mouse input - any ideas how to get this working? Kind of important as I need to use disk utility to format the disk before install! Lastly I then tried the following as a latch ditch effort: AHCI_Extended_Injector.kext AHCIPortInjector.kext AppleAHCIPort.kext But with no success. Any insight on what to try next?
  10. So I've managed to get Unlocker working on ESXi 6.0U2, installed Sierra and got GPU passthrough working with my GTX 1050 Ti. However...audio is a mess. I tried with an old USB sound card I had lying around, and the results were pathetic. So I disabled SIP (that was an adventure), installed VoodooHDA 2.9.0 and tried routing audio over HDMI. Again, it was an unpleasant experience. So I tried an old PCI M-Audio Revolution with a Snow Leopard era kext. I got audio, but it frequently broke up and distorted. Aside from audio, the VM feels stuttery and uneven, like the system is overloaded with I/O. However, there's actually very little activity in Activity Monitor. Anyone have any suggestions for getting decent audio out of this VM?
  11. So I've run into a bit of an issue that I need help figuring out. I have a Mountain Lion Guest running on my ESXi 5.1 host. The OS is located on a local datastore, but then I have about 6.5TB worth of virtual disks attached to this machine that are stored on an NFS datastore. I would like to migrate all of these disks to a different datastore. Now I know I can usually go an just migrate the disks individually, but Vcenter wont allow me to do this because OS X is not supported(?). Does any one know of a way that I can accomplish this? Thanks!
  12. Hi People, I have: A gigabyte GA790FX-DQ6 Mobo A AMD Phenom II X4 960T Cpu A pair of 500 GB WD Harddrives A SiI 3112 sata controller. 8 GB of ram. I'm trying to install snow leopard (10.6) using the mac osx support esxi 5.0 is meant to have but all I get is the grey sceen with the mac logo and no loading spinner. I have installed and run the latest version of the unlocker on my esxi server, but doesn't seem to have made any difference. Im really stuck, is possible to install snow leopard with an amd processor? Also what exactly is the unlocker meant to do? I have got to an install screen with the latest nawcom disk using the freebsd 64 bit template, but the install / copying of files goes really really slowly, like 2 hours never seems to get to the end. Any advice or guidence on how to get snow or even lion running under esxi 5.0? Really would appreciate some help, its totally driving me nuts (so nuts im posting this on chrissy eve). TIA! K3xenn
  13. Hi folks, I have successfully installed High Sierra in a Virtual Machine on VMWare vSphere 6 with a NVIDIA GT 1030 passed through for graphics with the web drivers installed. It's my understanding that Audio over HDMI does not work on this card so I have been looking at alternatives. I have a Fiio E10K USB DAC that is supported under OS X apparently. I tried with USB pass-through and it is detected but there is no sound. I also tried USB pass-through on Windows and it didn't work with the same issue with xHCI but it did work with EHCI + UHCI which only supports 1.1 and 2.0 devices. I don't mind sacrificing USB3 support to get audio working but I have not had success so far on OS X. Has anyone successfully gotten USB Audio working on 10.13? Cheers!
