  4. Hello I have an (almost) perfectly hacked Asus 1001HA with 10.6.8, the only problem is, that App Store doesn't work. An unexpected error occurs when I try to log in. In IORegistryexplorer, I can see, that my ethernet is not detected as built-in, even though I tried Chameleon's ethernet built-in option. I also tried to generate an efi string for my ethernet card with EFI Studio 1.1, but I already had a device-properties string in c.a.b.plist and I do not what it is for, but if i remove it, or substitute it with the string from EFI Studio, the system will hang on white screen after the spinning wheels does its job. Oh, and I used NBI to install chameleon. Should I somehow combine these two strings? I would be very grateful for any help. I've attached the efi string I have in device-properties. efi.rtf
  5. Hi, i'm a newbie in osx86 world and im trying to install iatkos sl 3 on a eeepc 1000h netbook. Actually i've a system running but the touchpad doesn't work. My installation routine was: 1.- Installed XP in a 16 gbs fat32 partition. 2.- Installed Chamaleon 3.0 for windows as bootloader into win xp 3.- i disabled Ethernet and Bluetooth from BIOS. Transfer de iaskos iso to 16 gbs partition fat32 (called "Instalacion") using the Leopard HD Installer Helper (No any check EFI 8, boot.ini.) 4.- Booting with chamaleon, select the partition "Instalacion" and i've installed the distro in a 32 gbs partition HFS format. 5.- The Instalation is done, all things runs, wifi, keyboard, VGA, etc. But the touchpad NO WAY in order to works. I'm trying checked the PS/2 Apple and Voodoo options in Personalite PS2 Section. Any tip? any help are welcome. Thanks in advance. Sorry about my english, it isnt my maternal language. Regards. Juan
  6. Hey folks, I had been running my EEEPC 1000HE with 10.6.7 fine for quite a while now, but lately some problems "occured". Firstly, it stopped finding WiFi networks, so I decided to turn AirPort Off and On again. But that did not really work so I decided to reboot the whole system. After a reboot the icon said: "No AirPort card installed" I also have no WiFi connection at all, but in the "About Mac" window, my AirPort service is still listed. The other problem is, that I wanted to connect the EEEPC to my TV via VGA. That worked well, when extending the screen to the TV. After choosing to synchronize the screen, all I get is nothing but graphic bugs. I can not even turn the synchronize option off, when connected to the TV. And after disconnecting the checkbox is gone. Maybe there's some terminal command to fix that? Thanks in advance, Sebastian
  7. Hey guys Here is my little guide to install OSX 10.6.8 on the EeePC 1000H. I'll quote some of the CicciMTS and scenemusic topics, thank you guys. What is needed ? A Asus EeePC 1000H A 8GB or more USB Pen drive An empty hard disk drive An other mac or hackintosh A USB mouse My package of tools, including the latest Apple OS X 10.6.8 Combo update Restore and Boot from USB On your mac/hack, go to Disk Utility, find your USB Pen drive, erase it with GUID Partion Table and Mac Extended Format (journaled). Then, restore your iAtkos image on your USB pen drive. Next, you need to make your USB drive Bootable. Find Chameleon in the tools Folder, open it and install it on your new Snow Leopard USB pen drive. Installation Boot into BIOS, if available, set the SATA mode to AHCI. If you can't it should work too so don't worry Select your USB Pen Drive and boot on it. Chameleon will appear, select your iAtkos install drive, and type -v to boot in verbose mode. After a moment, the OSX installer should appear. Trackpad will not work so plug in a usb mouse. Select your language and click next. on the top of the screen, find disk utilty, and erase your HDD with GUID Partion Table and Mac Extended Format (journaled) options, and close Disk Utility. Click Next until the installer ask you on which drive you want to install OSX. Do not install it yet, click on Customize. Select the following options : -BOOT ASEREBLN -BOOT OPTIONS 32BITS GRAPHICS ENABLERS ETHERNET BUILTIN USB (all) -PATCHES CREAR EXTRA FAKESMC DISABLER RTC KERNEL ATOM EVOREBOOT SLEEPENABLER UUID -DRIVERS SATA-IDE SATA/AHCI or INTEL SATA/IDE if you didn't enable AHCI in your bios -SOUND VOODOHDA -PS2 VOODOOPS2 or APPLEPS2 -POWERMANAGER VOODOPOWER -LAPTOP HARD BATTERY CARD READER THERMAL ACPI -VGA INTEL EFI STRING GMA950 (all) -WIFI Ralink RT2860 -WIRED ATLANSIC L1E Click OK and install OSX on your HDD. First Boot and update to 10.6.8 Remove your USB stick from your computer, Chameleon should appear, boot your new OSX installation with -v boot flag. Once you've created your account you should be on your desketop. Run the Combo Update installer but do not reboot!! Force Quit out of the installer (hold down the Option key and click and hold over the Installer icon in the Dock. Select Force Quit) and Run the Legacy Kernel installer and then reboot the machine. now you should see that your graphics driver doesn't work anymore. Run Kext Utility and let it repair the permissions and update the cache. when it says "all done" drag and drop all the graphics kext into kext utility, and when it says "all done", reboot your computer. Cross your fingers and reboot your computer. You should now have a fully working EeePC 1000H, with graphics, sound, wifi, USB, bluetooth and Ethernet Working with the lastest Snow Leopard update. You can have the latest security updates on your system with Software Update, it will not damage your installation. Sorry for my bad english, I'm french. Fell free to ask questions if you need, thank you guys

    Installation on EEEPC X101CH ?

  9. Hello All, I was given an Asus Eeepc 901 netbook recently. So i thought why not install lion on it! I know the processor is N270 which is 32 bit and lion don't support 32 bit but i remember back in 2012, I installed lion on my X60s which featured a 32 bit processor but its quite fast. So i have installed lion on its 8gb ssd. Every apps works! By its really slow. Because firstly the laptop bios have no achi option, secondly the ssd writing and reading speed according to: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/8580/ASUS-PHISON-SSDis very slow, thirdly if I'm not wrong this ssd is a PATA meaning IDE kind. So i flashed a custom bios made by a Japanese guy who enabled the achi option in the bios. Now its slightly faster. Im thinking of upgrading the currently ssd to msata. But i seen a lot of people saying its not possible without some mod as the asus uses something called flash_con. Despite the msata and mini PCI-E look resembles but its not the same due to the pin layout or something like that. After several hours of researching, I saw on Ebay where a guy is selling an adaptor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/mini-pci-e-msata-SSD-to-SATA-Mini-PCIE-adapter-card-/221818510797 I presume the adaptor is to convert msata to mini pci-e. The seller claimed that:" The speed and other properties is not changed, only form conversion interface. " So I wonder if i buy this and a msata, will this adaptor change the msata sata to IDE? Reason is because i need it to be in SATA mode, as I want to enable trim function in Mac OS X. Thanks Hi, any Mod who reading this, maybe you want to move this thread to the hardware components IDE/SATA section? Im so sorry, as i didn't saw the IDE/SATA section before posting this. Thank you very much
