  1. Hello, after installing Catalina, I am having trouble with getting the CPU to throttle down its frequencies. It's constantly sitting at above 2.0 Ghz, which is odd.I am attaching my config files, EFI folder etc., if someone would be so kind and take a look at them if they see some obvious culprit, that causes this strange behaviour.THANKS! EssentialsList-2019-11-28 17.46.41.zip
  2. It took some messing around, but I have made a kext patch which can be used as a superior alternative for NullCPUPowerManagement.kext. Since it still allows AICPM to load, we can now load X86PlatformPlugin and by extension AGPM on a system where CPU PM doesn't work. This is useful on for example AMD systems, where CPU PM cannot be enabled properly. So far tested on Catalina and High Sierra, but should also work on other versions, and is reported to give very decent performance improvements when paired with an appropriate SSDT-PLUG SSDT and AGPM injector kext. Does not work in combination with NullCPUPowerManagement.kext From: D0 05 00 00 84 C0 74 46 E8 To: D0 05 00 00 84 C0 EB 46 E8 On: com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement
  3. Hey! I recently installed Mojave on my Lenovo Yoga730-13IKB. While most other parts work fine, my battery drops really quick in the mac system: in windows, a full battery would last around 10hrs, but in mac its just 2-3hr if I put it to sleep and put the laptop in my bag, it gets really hot and burns through the battery in 20 mins. my cpu is i7-8550U I've already tried: - Plugin-Type=1 - XCPM - HWP - CPUFriend limit idle freq to 800mhz any ideas? here are my debug files: Thanks! debug_27762.zip
  4. Hi, I've been trying to install Mavericks 10.9, I know it's older now, but It's honestly the version I want to use, the specs of the PC are: Asus P8H61-MX USB3 i3-3220 8GB DDR3 Memory GTX 750 ti 500GB HDD I've been following this guide: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners-updated-for-yosemite/ But, after booting, this is the error screen I get, any guidance on what Kexts, SMBios settings, etc. I need? I can tell I'm probably missing something here. Thanks, Dan

Everytime I come to an error which I can't decipher the meaning of. I would really appreciate your help. I have an Asus S400C which a i5 clocked at 1.7Ghz. Thanks a lot, ZRC007
  6. Hey guys & girls! I am using Acer Aspire One 522 ( sorry if wrong section, I think it's global ). Since I can't find the required kexts for my stuff ( AMD C-60/ATI Radeon 6290 Integrated ) I am planing to replace this cpu. I am using Mavericks 10.9.5. So the question: Could someone recommend APU with Integrated graphics chip which works @Mac OSX for this netbook? ( Kexts, natively, whatever ). Thanks in advance!

  8. Hi everyone, thanks for the helpin advance! For some reason, my fan doesn't seem to run, only while booting for few seconds, then nothing :s I've looked everywhere and couldnt find any clues as to why.. perhaps editing the dsdt would fix it somehow..? Thanks again
  9. Hi all, I got ASUS K95VM laptop with Intel Core i5 2500 MHz Ivy Bridge processor. Few months ago I successfully installed hackintosh (Mountain Lion 10.8.2) on it and since then I solved various issues and now it's working pretty stable, however couple things still bothers me. First, I found that my system clock is slowing in time, I mean when the computer works, for example, during 24 hours, I can see that clock is wrong about 3-4 minutes back, e.g. real time is 10:04 and I see 10:00. Just don't ask about System Preferences -> Date and Time -> Set date and time automatically - I know about this option and it helps for a while of course, but here's more general problem. I suspect that my processor maybe not working at full power, or I don't know... I tried setting FSB=100 and busratio=25 according to my cpu characteristics, but that didn't help. Another problem is that when I listen music or watching youtube videos the sound is initially fine, but in about a 30 seconds it starts crackling little by little and that crackling grows in time and after a minute it's hard to hear something in that noise. If I pause for a while, it gets back to normal but then again that thing repeats. I suspect that this problem is relevant to previous, though maybe not, maybe it's another problem. What I suggest is that sound desynchronize with real time and somehow that causes that effect. However, it's only suggesstion. I have VoodooHDA 2.7.3 as a sound driver, just FYI. So, any help about these issues is very appreciated, thanks in advance.
  10. Hello, happy new year and I hope you're doing well! I upgraded to High Sierra despite my intentions not to, and I've encountered some general lag and slow speed with my CPU. Often, Logic Pro X will present a "System Overload" popup that I had only ever seen before when returning from sleep. Now it will frequently occur in between songs. I have an MSI Gaming 7 and a i5-4690K. Any help will be appreciated. I'm sure many of you are having issues similar if I am. Thank you for your time.
  11. Why is clover detecting only 1 core out of 2? CPU: (Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E8200 @ 2.66GHz), BOOT LOG: (Threads: 2 Cores: 1). However, when I boot into system it shows correctly 2 cores. Thank you in advance. config: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>ACPI</key> <dict> <key>DSDT</key> <dict> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>DropOEM_DSM</key> <false/> <key>Name</key> <string>DSDT.aml</string> <key>ReuseFFFF</key> <false/> </dict> <key>SSDT</key> <dict> <key>C3Latency</key> <string>0x3E9</string> <key>DropOem</key> <true/> <key>EnableC2</key> <true/> <key>Generate</key> <false/> <key>MaxMultiplier</key> <integer>8</integer> <key>MinMultiplier</key> <integer>6</integer> <key>UseSystemIO</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> <key>Boot</key> <dict> <key>Arguments</key> <string>busratio=8</string> <key>CustomLogo</key> <false/> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>DefaultLoader</key> <string>boot.efi</string> <key>DefaultVolume</key> <string>LastBootedVolume</string> <key>Legacy</key> <string>PBR</string> <key>Secure</key> <false/> <key>Timeout</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>XMPDetection</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> <key>CPU</key> <dict> <key>BusSpeedkHz</key> <integer>333330</integer> <key>C2</key> <true/> <key>FrequencyMHz</key> <integer>2660</integer> <key>Latency</key> <string>0x065</string> <key>Type</key> <string>769</string> </dict> <key>Devices</key> <dict> <key>Audio</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <string>Detect</string> </dict> <key>FakeID</key> <dict> <key>ATI</key> <string>0x68181002</string> <key>IMEI</key> <string>0x1E3A8086</string> <key>IntelGFX</key> <string>0x01268086</string> <key>LAN</key> <string>0x436311ab</string> <key>NVidia</key> <string>0x0</string> <key>SATA</key> <string>0x25628086</string> <key>WIFI</key> <string>0x431214E4</string> <key>XHCI</key> <string>0x0</string> </dict> <key>USB</key> <dict> <key>FixOwnership</key> <false/> <key>Inject</key> <false/> </dict> </dict> <key>GUI</key> <dict> <key>Language</key> <string>en:0</string> <key>Mouse</key> <dict> <key>DoubleClick</key> <integer>500</integer> <key>Enabled</key> <false/> <key>Mirror</key> <false/> <key>Speed</key> <integer>8</integer> </dict> <key>Scan</key> <true/> <key>ScreenResolution</key> <string>1600x1200</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>mac</string> </dict> <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <dict> <key>ATI</key> <false/> <key>Intel</key> <false/> <key>NVidia</key> <true/> </dict> <key>LoadVBios</key> <true/> <key>NvidiaSingle</key> <false/> <key>VRAM</key> <integer>1024</integer> <key>VideoPorts</key> <integer>3</integer> </dict> <key>KernelAndKextPatches</key> <dict> <key>AppleRTC</key> <false/> <key>AsusAICPUPM</key> <false/> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>KernelCpu</key> <false/> <key>KernelHaswellE</key> <false/> <key>KernelLapic</key> <false/> <key>KernelPm</key> <false/> </dict> <key>RtVariables</key> <dict> <key>BooterConfig</key> <string>0x28</string> <key>CsrActiveConfig</key> <string>0x0</string> <key>MLB</key> <string>blah blah</string> <key>ROM</key> <string>UseMacAddr0</string> </dict> <key>SMBIOS</key> <dict> blah blah </dict> <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>CustomUUID</key> <string>blah blah</string> <key>InjectKexts</key> <string>Detect</string> <key>InjectSystemID</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> </plist> DSDT.aml.zip
  12. So, after all my tweaking and tinkering to my laptop hackintosh, I finally got a great working system (#1 in signature) I performed a generation of custom processor SSDT and it gives me the best results! My Geekbench score is over 6000 It performs better than any Macbook with the same system definitions ever could, and here is the graphics to prove it You won't see any Macbook even at the 5000, maybe the newest ones but not the 2014 ones. I am deeply in love with my Hackintosh, it has taught me so much, and it responds so well when you know how to treat him right Good hacking guys

    Getting CPU id right

Hi, I have Yosemite 10.10.5 installed on a FX 6300. In "About this Mac" tab it shows Unknown. I know that I can easily fix this by injecting CPU type in Clover, but I couldn't find anywhere the list of intel CPU id's. I think I'd need some 6 core Xeon id.

  15. Hi, I created a hackintosh with my PC (z87-hd3, 4670k) I used to have intel hd 4600 and it worked fine well, it did take some time to get the 4600 to work. Now I have a MSI GTX 760 in my computer and I have fired up mavericks (I still have 10.9) and everything is working fine and I have full resolution QE/CI and all. I use HWMonitor to make sure that the power management is working okay for the cpu and gpu. The CPU is in the 30-40 degrees range whilst I am browsing and the GPU die is at 48 degrees. I think the CPU is scaling down properly. The GPU is currently constantly at 48 degrees and at 1.00 GHZ CORE and 1.47GHZ memory. Is everything working right? On windows I have msi afterburner and can change lots of things but I let it natively choose the fan speed. I haven't been monitoring the temperature recently on windows but it used to be in the 30s at idle then go up to 40-50-60 highest 67 when under load. Is everything working okay? Also is there any other checks I need to do, to my hackintosh to make sure nothing is slowly killing any of my hardware as I might start to use it much more than I used to for video editing etc. My GPU shows as 3.39 GHZ and I would like to change that to 3.4Ghz. My ethernet, audio and USB are working. Thanks!
  16. Hi All I have 2 x (one pair) INTEL XEON E5530 2.4GHZ QUAD-CORE CPUs for sale on ebay with a starting bid of $550 for BOTH processors. No one has bid as of yet so will literally be paying 50% less than retail if no one else bids...These are powerful processors that work beautifully as the brains of a HackPro - they seem to favor Supermicro motherboards, but I have had them in ASUS as well and they crank all the same. Please send an email to sturzo@gmail.com if you're interested in purchasing direct - I am more than willing to end the auction for a reasonable 'best offer' Here is the Ebay link: http://r.ebay.com/bu5t81 Thank you!
  17. Hi I can't find anywhere list of cpu supported by ML so I'm asking here. Just as in the title. What is the best and cheapest cpu for ML? I found Intel Core i3-2100, but maybe you have something cheaper. greatings
  18. Hi everyone, I'm having a weird issue, when I do certain tasks the OS freezes and becomes unresponsive, at that point the only way to "fix" that is force shutdown pressing the power button from laptop. The only two ways I reproduce that are: Using Box Sync, when that program starts syncing after a while (not to much) the OS hangs At first boot when OS restores opened programs and Google Chrome has a few tabs (like around, I don't know, 30 for example), Chrome starts restoring every tab and OS hangs after a little bit (while restoring tabs) Anybody experienced this or have any ideas about it? Thanks in advance. Spects: Dell Inspiron 3420 Intel Core i3 2328M 8GB 1333Mhz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 512MB SATA 500GB OS X Niresh Mavericks 10.9 + Update 10.9.5 from Mac App Store GPT (GUID Partition Table) Bootloader Clover UEFI Any other data you may need just ask me. Best regards.
  19. I'm currently on a $1,000 budget. I got a build recommendation for that price on reddit, here it is: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card (I already own one of these, so this would be my second, so I can run SLI) Case: Corsair 500R White ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply I am looking into purchasing this computer to both play and develop games. I plan on making games for Windows, Android, iOS, and Macintosh platforms. I already own a May 2009 Macbook, but I'm afraid it wouldn't get the job done for me when it comes to making games, as I'm more of a desktop person. Because of that, I decided I would look into splitting Mac OS X and Windows 7 across my computer. Anyways, my questions are, -Will this hardware work with building a Macintosh? (I already know I can get just one of my 660 TIs working, and that SLI will not work with mac.) -In opinion, do you think that Mac would be a good OS to do these things: Texturing Video Editing Music Making -If the CPU did work with Mac, would I be able to use it if it was overclocked? Thank you.
  20. What is the best Mini-ITX motherboard for my i5-4460 (replaceable Broadcom chip, if it's possible m.2)? I'm planning to make a Mini-ITX hackintosh inside a Streacom F1C. Is the F1C Evo taller than the F1C and is there any way i can fit a GPU inside it (PCIe raiser etc.)? Thanks in advance.

    iMac Query

Good Day, Im looking at getting a iMac, i need it to be able to do apple app designing/development, programing and 3D animation, 3D rendering, Gaming etc, im looking at a very good all-round machine. Please assist guys.
  22. Guys, I am trying to upgrade old LGA775 P5Q board with new processor. It is Xeon L5430 with adapter. It is working perfectly under Windows since I've updated microcodes in BIOS. Bios I am using is so called 5th Year anniversary mode BIOS. Dual core E4400 is absolutely fine with the setup. So far i don't have problems with running it on Clover 10.10(tweaked) or 10.11(vanilla config with only latest FakeSMC) on e4400 but Xeon gives me checkered screen after initial apple on black loading screen on both installs. Black has fuzzy RGB dots. Any ideas what this can be or how to troubleshoot that? Thank you.
  23. In Windows i am able to see all of my temperature - cpu cores, gpu, hdd temps... In yosemite i see only my hdd temps. I've tried iStat Menus an HW Monitor but both show only hdd temps. The computer is Dell XPS 430. Does anybody know if there is a fix for that?
  24. I am selling a 3 week old Haswell i7 4770k CPU. I was building a Hackintosh, but I could not get it to work, so I returned the parts I could. Unfortunately Newegg wouldn't let me return the CPU that I paid $330 for. I'll throw in the arctic silver 5 thermal paste, since it is of no use to me. Only used once. I got a geek bench of 14000 stock with this CPU, it is very powerful! Barely used and Never over-clocked. Make a offer. $280 FYI: Sold on amazon.
  25. Hi all, first time poster here. To begin with, i would like to send out a huge THANK YOU, to all those out there in the Hackintosh community for being so awesome and helpful to us noobs. Ive just entered this world and ive been building my first Hackintosh by the grace of all the nice people putting out guides and how-to´s. Its been a couple of intense days, but ive learned so much, still really a noob though so please answer as thorough as possible... Ive built a Clover installed machine: 4890K on Asus z87 Deluxe/Dual - Yosemite 10.10.3. It is supposed to be a real workhorse for Audio/Video creation. Now, i have overclocked it just slightly to 4.5GHz but i want it to stay at that frequency and disable ALL kinds of CPU throttling, Speedstep, CPU parking et.c. I really want it to behave like i set it up in UEFI BIOS. Something like how Windows behaves with its "Always On" power scheme. Things i have tried so far: I have disabled the Generate c- and p-states in config.plist via Clover Configurator. I have tried to set Min Multiplier to different values. I have tried to inject the NullCPUPowermanagement kext by placing it in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10 (and verify that it is loading in boot.log). About this mac shows iMac 14,2 and i have not set anything in the SMBios part of Clover Configurator. The entries in SMBios are all blank. None of these things make any difference! Im checking the CPU multiplier in HWMonitor, idling it goes down to x8. It is not throttling due to heat because i have really good cooling with low temps. When checking P States via DPCIManager it fluctuates between a few states/multipliers and sometimes even generates a "P States I/O error, throttling to 9Hz" (!) I have turned off all CPU power management in the UEFI BIOS but once booted into Yosemite, those settings are not honoured and are overwritten somehow. My BIOS settings are as follows: Disabled Speedstep, EIST, pStates, cStates and other power saving settings. All cores to multiplier x45, vcore to 1.210. Please help me! The simpler the solution the better, im still very new to all this. Please provide noob-friendly answers. Others on this forum (and "the other one") are also having this problem and those threads remain un-answered, please lets make this thread a go-to resource for these kinds of problems. Again, thank in advance! Kind regards from Sweden // Anders
