  1. Hi, I have been unable to boot into my Hackintosh. First, I had a boot loop at Darwin (brief flash of apple logo before rebooting), but I could get in using a stick with Chimera on it. Then, I noticed when I tried with the hard drive I got the boot0 error, so I followed the guide online involving moving a file to the boot volume. Nothing worked. I wonder if there is a way to just reload the bootloader, overwriting some of the old stuff, but preserving the data. I originally used Tony but not sure if that was best choice...i could reload it with unib. but i'm afraid it will overwrite everything and my data will be lost. thanks a lot..
  2. Hi, I`m using ESXi 5.5 U1 and Mavericks 10.9.4 VM. Creating clean install and start testing. I have been unable to get any bootloader to load after start Mac OS X VM (Mavericks 10.9.4). After installing and reboot VM going to default Mac screen, and if I make changes in bootloader, they do not reflect. Example installing on clean VM Chameleon (or other bootloader) and make changes (-v, loading kexts .. etc) and after reboot this changes do not reflect! Testing with Chimera, Chameleon and Clover. They don't work... Any ideas?
  3. Hi, I've recently installed 10.8 on an Intel Core 2 Duo, Gigabyte Motherboard. I've managed to get everything up and running besides hardware acceleration. I have a GeForce 6600 installed. I can boot fine using GraphicsEnabler=Yes in Chimera, but there appears to be no hardware acceleration (i.e. stuck at 1024x768x32 res.). To get the system to boot I had to remove all Intel and NV kexts from /System/Library/Extensions. I'd like to know: (1) Is this card supported by Chimera's GraphicsEnabler for HW Accel? (2) I understand NVEnabler had support for this card, I installed with an older version of [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] but has made no difference.. do I need to disable anything in Chimera? (3) Do I just need to modify the existing NV kexts? If so what's the method for doing so? Advice or links are welcome... Thanks! Jayson
  4. Hi, I just got a new 2TB WD Caviar Blue drive to mainly keep my files and have Mac OS X on it too. I have it partitioned in MBR with 1 partition of 200GB HFS+ and the remainder a 1.62.. NTFS. I can boot the installer USB just fine and install ML on the 200GB partition but when I install chimera(or chameleon or clover) to it and try to reboot using the new bootloader it hangs at boot0: error and for clover boot0af: error (OR if I install boot0ss, boot0ss: error). The drive's sector size is 512bytes, checked via diskutil and windows fsutil(no 4K advanced format). The drive is connected at Marvell 88SE9172 and previously(with same results) at X79 Sata3 both 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s. Any ideas? EDIT: It really was a 4K drive, note to anyone with this drive: All WD20EAR* drives use 4K advanced format but the firmware emulates 512B sectoring, software will report they are 512B physical sectors, they are NOT!
  5. Hi all, Im new here. and required u guys to help me .. Thanks..^^ Currently i facing this problem to enable this graphics driver into QE/CI mode. In running extension i only found out that ati4600 . kext is running and yet (i see alot forum show that i required to have the atiframebuffer to be execute as well)but how to do it? . And the mac osx just able to detect it as an non Ati graphic cards running on 3mb vram.. im using Chimera with latest lion osx. thanks
  6. I've an Elantech ps2 trackpad in my laptop(see signature below). It was working fine while using Lion. Now, It works only when I boot using Chimera v.1.11 but not using even the latest chameleon(enoch 2050). This is very strange as I was using Chameleon with Lion and there was no problem. I have added these strings attached to identify the device ID (this was done too in Lion and it worked). <string>ApplePS2MouseDevice</string> <key>ProductID</key> <string>PNP0F13</string> <key>VendorID</key> <integer>1452</integer However, trackpad wont work despite this. but I dont need these strings at all when I use Chimera. Chimera seems to identify my trackpad as if some sort of code is hardcoded in it. Can anybody explain why? UPDATE:Found two kexts which helped trackpad working in Chameleon. http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3191
  7. Ciao, this tutorial is written after months of failed installations (at least 20) and testing which probably wrecked my laptop by now. The following applies for the Acer Aspire 4750g, a notebook which is really a pain in the ass. However, if other notebooks also have an Intel Core i7 (with sandy bridge Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics) or an Nvidia GT 540M (this card is NOT supported, but detected by Lion), one can also follow some points from this guide to achieve full QE/CI. Of course, credit goes out to tonymac, netkas, etc. who have come up with great utilities and kexts, as well as the Chinese language Acer forums which I ripped the kexts from. Hope that others with the same pain-in-the-ass laptop can stop worrying now. http://yfrog.com/odzygepj Here are the specifications of this model and what is working and what is not: CPU and chipset - Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM - WORKING without DSDT needed, integrated Intel HD 3000 FULLY WORKING Display - 14" HD 1366 x 768 - WORKING at full resolution Graphics - NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M with NVIDIA® Optimus™ technology - NOT SUPPORTED as mentioned above, but integrated graphics WORKING. Disable NVIDIA card in BIOS if possible Audio - no idea - WORKING Webcam - NOT WORKING Wireless - Atheros AR9287 - NOT WORKING for me (BUT other forums reports working with kext+fix, haven't tried fix) Keyboard and touchpad - WORKING USB - Not all ports work, USB 3.0 SHOULD WORK with kext And here is what you need: 8GB USB drive or larger Lion installer dmg (from Mac App Store) or Lion installer thumbdrive (from Apple) [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] (as of this tutorial v4.2) Chimera (as of this tutorial v1.7) Bag of kexts - links are below! [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] 1. Download [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] and follow its instructions to create an installer thumbdrive - http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/[url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url]-install-mac-os-x-lion-using.html 2. Copy the following packages onto the thumbdrive (in an empty folder) - Chimera (bootloader) VoodooHDA (to enable sound) Your favourite kext installer OR [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] (in place of the three options above) IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext (to enable USB) - http://www.osx86.net/view/2065-iousbfamily.kext_for_non_working_usb-s..html Networking kexts (optional, might not work) VoodooBattery.kext (optional) TIP! - If you need to install it on an MBR partition, use the patcher - http://3rr0rists.net/driver/mbr-patch-for-lion-gm.html ([url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] cannot install to MBR, only GUID which didn't work for me due to bootloader reasons) 3. Install Lion (simple, not a lot of options) - Partition with GUID unless patched, I suggest patching and using MBR. 4. Reboot and boot new installation using [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive, in single-user mode (-v -s) 5. Mount the root partition in read-write mode (instructions in terminal) 6. 'cd' to /System/Library/CoreServices/"Setup Assistant.app"/Contents, edit Info.plist and delete the lines with keyboard selection and device selection (sudo pico, or copy over with a patched Info.plist floating somewhere from the internet) 7. Exit and finish setup assistant. 8. Copy the folder full of kexts from the [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive to the desktop. 9. Run Chimera pkg and VoodooHDA pkg OR 10. Run [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url], selecting Chimera and VoodooHDA ONLY. 11. Reboot (although you would most likely get kernel panic) using [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive back into new installation. 12. Go to /Extra/Extensions, and delete IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext 14. Copy the proper IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext which you downloaded to /Extra/Extensions 15. Run the following in Terminal sudo chmod -R 755 /extra/extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext sudo chown -R root:wheel /extra/extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext 16. Run Kext Utility OR fix permissions, rebuild cache with your favourite utility. Install VoodooBattery (optional) 17. Reboot without [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive in verbose mode. That's it! If network is desired, kexts (http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&amp;id=1626) and link for fix (http://bbs.pcbeta.com/viewthread-882193-1-1.html second post) is here. Any file one requires, I can upload upon request! This is my first Hackintosh guide, so please forgive and point out mistakes. Grazie..
  8. Hey guys! I have already got Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed on my Desktop PC, and now I would like to install it on my laptop. Laptop data: Motherboard: Clevo M7X0SU Front Side Bus: Intel GTL+ (64 Bit) Chipset: Intel QM67 (afaik) CPU: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200 (2000 MHz) RAM: 4GB BIOS: Phoenix BIOS (from 10.02.2008) Graphics: NVidia GeForce 9300M GS SATA HD: FUJITSU MHZ2320BH G2 ATA Device (298 GB) Disk drive: MAT{censored}A DVD-RAM UJ870QJ ATA Device The laptops hard disk is connected over SATA and has three partitions: - On the first partition theres GRUB as bootloader and the Windows 7 partition (NTFS) - On the second theres the System Reserved partition for Windows 7 (NTFS) - On the third partiton theres Fedora installed (HFS+ i think) I am trying to boot with iB00t 3.2 and the retail Snow Leopard 10.6 disk. I want to remove Linux, format its partition and install Mac OSX instead of it. The problem is that it says Still waiting for root device when booting in verbose mode, so I think it does not detect my hard disk drive. AHCI Mode is on! Do you have any idea what I could do? Here i've uploaded screenshots of the BIOS, Chimera and what Darwin verbose mode tells me. When using a distribution like iAtkos L2 its exactly the same. Thank you in advance! Max
  9. Let me start off by saying that I am willing to pay for some extra help if necessary. I love Yosemite and I've been struggling with this for a couple weekends, so if someone does a great job of helping out I can definitely recognize that via PayPal. I have an HP DV6t-6100 with Insyde f1.b BIOS, i7 2820QM, Intel HD 3000 graphics and a Radeon HD 6770m 2gb on 16gb RAM and a hybrid 1tb drive partitioned 872gb Windows 7 / 128gb OS X Yosemite (hopefully). I also have a 1920x1080 resolution screen that I don't care about getting working correctly, I just want to at least install. I currently am attempting a ##### boot (so if I understand correctly, Chimera/Chameleon). Previously, I've gotten as far as to run the installer in Yosemite Zone and even had a bootable Yosemite with -x and CPUs=1. I would go back to Yosemite Zone(at least I knew it could work) but for the life of me I cannot get the installer to run again. I can't get the bootloader to boot past the forward slash symbol in the upper left corner, and I don't know which version I had that was running. I've tried 3 out that I've found to each have different file sizes from various torrent networks and google searched - none of them work. I get the bootloader to run - I select the USB drive of my four options to boot into, and using the boot flags -v, and CPUs=1 I get this screen here: Notice that I have a lapic_kernel panic, on an HP laptop, which is typical. But look at my boot flags!! I have CPUs=1 set. I normally use -x as well, but I forgot here and it creates the same message regardless. I have a quad core It's common knowledge that HP Laptops have local APIC issues, well documented, and there is already a KernelPatcher.dylib fix for the issue(shouts out to donovan6000? I think). Supposedly you can use CPUs=1 as a short term fix for the issue. Obviously this isn't the case for me. Regardless of the fact that CPUs=1 didn't resolve the issue in my case, I tried to use KernelPatcher.dylib, installed it in the Extra/modules folder using TransMac, and after I did that I got even less far in the bootloader process. I don't care about working audio, working high resolution graphics, or anything else. If I can get to barely crawl through the boot and install process and get to a functioning Finder window I will be 100% happy. I can do the rest of the playing around with kext files stuff later, right now I just want it to boot. Aside from the KernelPatcher.dylib I threw into Extra/modules (and then took out) I am using a completely virgin copy of ##### on a 64gb SanDisk USB drive. My ##### options: Yosemite 10.10.1 downloaded from Mac App Store on a real copy of Yosemite Laptop Support On Legacy USB On (didn't think I would need this one but without it I can't seem to load Chimera) I don't have a DSDT file, and I'm not sure if I need one. I've looked at tonymacs DSDT section and they have HP ProBook but that's the closest thing I could find - didn't seem like quite a good fit. Was I wrong? My motherboard, as typical of Insyde f1.b, is locked. It is using BIOS. The options I have from memory are.. Virtualization(enabled) action keys(enabled) changes Fx keys to require holding fn+Fx key, don't think this matters switchable graphics fixed/dynamic(set to fixed.) this controls how the dual graphics switch, all the guides I've read have said to stick with Fixed so I haven't experimented too much out side of this setting. fan always on(disabled) I think this lets the fan turn off if the CPU is cool enough. Don't think this matters, but my fan doesn't turn off during bootloader anyways lol My hard drive is a fusion 20gb flash 980gb HDD. I don't know how this correlates to the bootloader - I've tried dropssdt=yes a couple times but it doesn't seem to do anything different. But like I said I did get Yosemite Zone running ONCE but I cannot(and believe me I have tried) get it to run again. I am definitely doing something wrong. I'd like to stick with ##### if possible, but I'm open to whatever, I'm even going to buy a second USB stick in a couple days here to test out two easily. SO right now KernelPatcher.dylib is not installed, but it can be in a second. LET ME KNOW if there is ANY more information I can provide, I will be happy too. I tried to put everything I could think of in here. I've seen videos and posts of people with my same model of laptop, DV6t-6100, running Yosemite(more commonly mavericks) showing off that they have like 99% of the laptop working, so I know it's possible, I just don't know how they got there. I would be ecstatic if I could get this working tonight. Any help is so, so appreciated.
  10. I have installed Mac OS X 10.6.3 onto my HDD and then successfully updated to 10.6.8 and have used to [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] option on the [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] package. I have installed all my needed kexts and my OSX86 system is stable and works. There is just one problem that i cannot seem to solve, Booting from the Hard Drive. I always need a CD to boot. Now i have a lenovo G770 laptop and have found this very useful guide http://www.dognmonke...dge-laptop.html - It doesnt seem to explain boot from a HDD. I just cannot seem to install the bootloader at all. I literally cannot workout how to go about this. I tried all of the usual ways and still cannot get a bootloader installed onto my HDD. i have run [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url], the chimera installer, the chameleon 2.0 RC4 installer package and nothing will work. To make sure that each method does not clash with any of the other methods i first made a backup image of my OSX86 system and then everytime i try to install a bootloader and it doesnt work, i erase the HDD and then restore the image as to ensure there are no file conflicts or problems. Here is the type of error i recieve when trying the various methods: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/3/img0054lr.jpg/ Would anyone here know a way for my to boot from CD? Thanks for any input on the issue.
  11. Hi all ! I'm running on my Yosemite desktop Nerish Hackintosh distro since more than 1 year without any problem... Since I just used this partition to manipulate other Chameleon Yosemite partition for my Dell Laptop. I needed to install Chimera boot file on this laptop disk, now my laptop is ok ! But I can't anymore boot my desktop ! => "can't find /mach_kernel" message at startup. Even with a Yosemite USB booting partition, it can't start ! I'm very desapointed with this !.. Some help will be welcome...
  12. hello i used NVenabler in my previous lion installation to get my native screen resolution (1920x1080). then i made a re-install and wanted to use DSDT patching instead to make my card work completely..... i used DSDT Patcher GUI. is it ok to use this software??? will it give me the correct DSDT?? and my mobo's dsdt is not in the database..... then i formatted that install and re-installed lion in the same drive and my DSDT fixes are now applied in my new installation too.... is this supposed to happen??? and how can i know whether my dsdt is 100% sucessful given that DSDT Patcher GUI reported "0 warnings, 0 errors, 0 remarks" and it also said the patch was successful..... also is it ok to replace my dsdt with an newly generated one?? i did that and i was not able to login at all..... how about replacing my DSDT.aml file with that of a similar model.... is it wise??? As for my gfx card (GeForce 210 1GB DDR3), it is now listed correctly in "About This Mac" and gives the correct resolution in display. however i feel the display had "shrunk" a little when compared to same res. in NVEnabler.... somehow to text in top menu and the dock seem to have shortened in width...... i dont know how to explain this better..... i tried EFI string injection for my card and it dint come out well..... plus when i put os x to sleep it does not wake up. before patching DSDT sleep worked correctly.... (even now sleep works if i boot with rBoot but i dont get DSDT functionality...) and if i check the "Restart automatically on system failure" option my oc restarts...... chimera themes do not work anymore ....... i get only the CUI screen........ (chameleon does not boot my installation, will have to use chimera.... and i have meddled with the options)....... sound works perfect but my mic does not work with voodoohda v0.2.1 (i checked the alc887/888b, alc8xxx and voodoohda options)....... with voodoohda version v0.2.2 mic works (but front headphone socket doesnt...) but again mic does not work with speech recognition software..... And how to make the restore button in time machine clickable??? i am not able to click it....... Chameleon/Chimera/rBoot boot screen (whether CUI or GUI) always opens in "1280x1024" resolution which is my on-board card's max resolution....... is there a way to make it appear in "1920x1080"???? i followed one of the guides in the internet named "Unstrech you chameleon bootscreen" which dint work......... An additional query..... when i use rBoot to boot in i get to use win key for command key and alt for option key (which is what i need....) but thru chimera those two get swapped........ i DONT want to change them in keyboard prefs...... is there a way make it that way by default???? i know its a bundle of probs but i am keen on getting my OSx86 working completely.... my specs: Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz ASUS P7H55-M LX nVidia GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 4GB Ram
  13. Hi everybody ! I got a kernel panic on IOHIDFamily kernel extension i dont understand why please help me YOSEMITE ON DV7 stucks for the moment ...................... :(
  14. I installed Mountain Lion using [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url]. I made a bootable USB using Chimera 1.11 (put the Extra folder from [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] USB to this Chimera boot USB). Now, I have to boot in -v mode otherwise I get kernel panic! and, the system identifies my graphics card as ATI Mobility Radeon HD5400 series 5 rather than identifying it exactly as 5470. Now, I made another bootable USB using latest Chameleon 2050(enoch-rev2050). I used the same Extra folder which I got while installing Mountain Lion using [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url]. It boots fast and I can boot without -v option and it identifies my graphics card exactly! But, my Elantech ps/2 trackpad does not work (keyboard works)!!! I guess it is due to the different boot loader but is there any way through which I could solve above problems. My system specs are in signature. I am still booting using USB drive as my system is still in test phase.
  15. I just rebuilt my Dell E6400 with Lion. I'm working on a dual-boot with Windows 7 and my bootloader cannot boot into Lion and I'm wondering why. The fun part is when I use my USB drive that has the Chimera 1.7.0 r1394 bootloader, Lion boots just fine from the HD partition. Currently Chimera 1.7.0 r1394 is installed and displays both Win7 and Lion. When I choose Lion, I get the fancy apple logo and it hangs. Verbose says it fails at: apple16x50uartsync2: Detected 16550AF /c /cf FIFO=16 Maxbaud=115200 Above that it states it bugs out about voodoobattery, but then moves on to the above. Originally used ###### to just install Chimera and that didn't work right out of the box Rebuilt the bootloader using ###### and selected UserDST, still no go. I know I'm missing something, since having my USB drive be the bootloader works just fine. I'm currently working on manually editing the chameleon.boot.plist but I'm not sure where or what to remove. I thought the pros would guide me in the right direction. Is there a way to look at the USB bootloaders file and copy that? Where and how can I view it?
  16. Hello! I've been trying to install 10.8 on my Asus N53SV-DH72 with the following specs: Intel i7-2670QM 2.2 Intel HD3000, device id 0116 NVIDIA Geforce GT 540M, device id 0DF4 Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless, device id 002B Realtek PCIe GBE, device id 8168 Realtex High Definition audio, device id 0269 I created my usb following this guide. My first error loading the installer was the PowerManagement kernel panic, which I solved using myHack instead of making my usb as this reply suggested. I got further on the installer, but it stalled in the [iOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- completed part. I created my own dsdt following this guide and used the remaining extra files of this reply and I got passed the bluetooth part. After all the files are loaded all I get is a black screen. When I press fn+f8 I see what seems to be the installer, but with a lot of glitches, as you can see in this video. The mouse can be seen and moved normally though. I've tried the some boot flags like DisplayEnabler and cpus, etc. I also tried making a myHack 10.9 installer with my dsdt file, and the results were almost the same. I get stalled in the glitches of the installer GUI. Any clue? Thanks!
  17. Hello! I'm trying to install El Capitan on my Lenovo Yoga 300 but I can't even get any bootloader to show up after turning on the computer... I tried Enoch, Chameleon and Clover and neither of them works. My BIOS can't see Enoch USB, but sees Clover. Unfortunately, when I try to boot them I can see nothing... I tried Clover in UEFI only mode, with Legacy mode, but no success. Please help me! My laptop has Intel Celeron N3050 with Intel HD.
