1. Hello all, I have three hard drives in my setup: two dedicated to Mac OS X and its backup, and one for Windows. I'm trying to get both OSes (Ubuntu boots via USB) to play nicely. Clover is installed to the EFI partition of the Mac OS X hard drive. It's also set as the default boot device. Mac version here shouldn't matter, and I run Windows 8.1 Pro. I have also applied SSDT and DSDT patches via aml files. I don't know if Clover injects those into non-Mac OSes. When I did a fresh UEFI reinstall of Windows, both the USB installer and the resulting Windows hard drive booted fine from Clover's menu. BUT, once I installed Nvidia's 337.88 WHQL driver or the CUDA 6 driver, Clover boots Windows into a black screen. The spinning wheel is there, but after that the desktop does not load. Booting via the UEFI boot device selection in the BIOS into the Windows Boot Manager makes the graphics work, but then what's the point of installing Clover? What's interesting is that Clover boots Windows not from Clover's EFI file but the Windows's bootmgfw.efi file (or at least that's the theory). So to Windows, it should be the same as booting natively without a Clover layer. But obviously it's not. The screen doesn't work. Anyone know a fix to this? Thanks! *Addition* Monitors are running through a Gigabyte GTX770 4GB, dual display on both DVI slots. Since Windows is going to be mainly for gaming use, I'd prefer if these monitors stay in these slots...

4. I have installed a few types of Mac OS X on this laptop (10.6.3, 10.6.8 & 10.7) and i can never get a single bootloader to install. I have tried the following: ##### Chimera Installer PC-EFI Installer MyHack Installer Chameleon Installer I have tried to manually write the boo0 and boot1 files using DD, i have tried install the bootloaders onto the small 200mb formatted EFI partition and nothing happens whenever i try boot from i HDD i get the following type boot errors and messages. Could there be a feature on this laptop, A Western Digital, shipped with the laptop that would prohibit the installation of a osx86 bootloader. I have successfully installed windows, various linux's and BSD's on the laptop and never had problems, Its just that no bootloader will install. ---EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT--- Found out that it is due to the fact that this drive has a feature called advanced format which autocatically uses 4kb allocation which means that Chameleon cannot install using the usual technique. I managed to install the bootloader but you will need to follow the following steps. You will need a Ubuntu Live CD. Boot into the ubuntu session and copy the following two files from the Chameleon package = "boot0" and "boot1h" issue the following command dd if=boot0 of=/dev/sda bs=440 count=1 and also dd if=boot1h of=/dev/sdaX bs=4096 - sdaX is whatever partition you OSX is held (i.e sda2) Now exit ubuntu and boot your mac using an ##### CD, You need to use the CD and you may not be able to boot from the HDD just yet. When you are in the mac, run a bootloader insaller package (Chimera, PC-EFI, yada yada yada) Customize your /Extra folder for you particular hardware. These are the exact steps i took to install a bootloader with this "Advanced Format" feature, I hope it can be of help to other who have had this problem.
5. right now i have one 500gb hd for my osx install, I found a guy on craigslist with a 160gb sata hd for $25, thats pretty good deal i think. 6. So. My laptop: Asus k55a I installed Mac OS X on the pendrive and now when I turn on the laptop and clicking esc bios it does not detect it. And now I have a question for you what settings I should set up to make everything good
7. Ok i finally got a mostly operational install of El Capitan 10.11.3 on my new dual boot Windows 10, OSX rig. Just to clarify this machine has an SLI setup under windows with a pair of 970 GTX 4gb, 1 dedicated Samsung Evo 850 250GB SSD for windows and OS X each.. as i thought having separate boot drives would be less hassle. Each OS also has a dedicated 4TB Hybrid HD each, and there is one old Maxtor 160GB SATA HDD i use for windows backup. And a Apple Native Broadcom WiFi Card. I have injected USB, entered all the fixes to raise the number of ports in Clover config.plist, added the entries to get the Nvida web driver for 10.11.3 to work, as well as the latest Cuda drivers for OSX, And done the edits to get the onboard Audio (ALC 1150) along with the shell script to get it all working. The Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 TH, and the SMBios entries are for mac pro 5,1. I Also have USB-SSDT.aml, and SSDT.aml for CPU in the clover patched folder. Processor is a i5 6600K, clover updated to latest as of time of posting.. right now i have the hardware and basic setup clarified. I shall get onto the niggling issues. In The Clover GUI i have the following entries from left to right: Boot Microsoft EFI from EFI (this if selected does boot into win 10) Boot Mac OS X from Mac (this works as intended, Mac being the name i gave the drive) Boot Recovery from Recovery HD (have yet to test whether it will boot but i suspect it will) Boot Windows from EFI (Black screen with a HD icon, does not boot, i suspect the EFI referenced is the Clover EFI not the Windows EFI Partition) Boot Windows from Windows 10 (Windows 10 is the name of the drive where windows is installed.. same result black screen HD icon, no boot) Boot Windows from (i suspect it should say Data as that is the other NTFS formatted Drive for Windows use) All drives are GPT Partitioned, there are no legacy devices, as i wanted to simplify any issues as far as i could regarding Dual Booting etc. Mac Drives are HFS+ Journaled, and Windows Drives are NTFS. Firstly i would like to find out how to remove the non bootable entries, so i only leave the Windows 10 SSD, And the Mac OSX, and Recovery Drives. and or modify the boot loader so everything is working nicely, it works at the moment but its messy and has other problems. The other issue i am having is every time i reboot it adds extra entries in my boot options in the bios, so after a few reboots it can have a string of extra entries. i have gone into the clover Command line and removed these by hand by typing: cfg boot dump, looking at the entry number and removing all except the ones pointing to HD directly by typing cfg boot rm XX (where XX is the boot entry number listed). I have read other posts on the web of similar issues, but as yet not found a fix. I have selected the Mac SSD as the 1st boot option in the bios and saved and exited. When i built the machine i installed Windows firstly, as there was no working solution to install OSX on this hardware, Windows is installed on the SSD that is Attached to SATA port 1 on the board, The Mac SSD is attached to SATA port 2, I don't know if this will have any bearing on the issues I'm experiencing, but id like to give as much clear info as possible, to hopefully find a solution. Does anyone know of a way to stop these extra boot entries being created after i remove them and set priority of boot in the bios? I'm VERY new to Clover having only used Chameleon on a somewhat elderly Core2Quad based hack running Mountain Lion. And is there a way to move the extra non bootable drives/partitions in the Clover GUI?
8. I sometimes have problems booting into Yosemite and is shown a no entry sign. If I reboot my computer, it will load up correctly without using any boot flags. All the times that the issue arise, I was never on verbose mode to identify the issue, but I read around other posts and forums that this may be an issue involving AHCI in the bios, but my bios is currently configured to AHCI and the CMOS did not reset. I also read that I might need to install the intelahciblockstorage in #####. I was wondering if anyone could give me an accurate explanation of what I need to do to get this corrected. My specifications are as follows: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H Intel Core i7 4790K 32GB Crucial Ballistic Low Profile RAM OWC 500GB SSD WD 2TB HDD Green EVGA 750W PSU 2x EVGA Nvidia GTX 760 (SLI) Bios settings are: Load optimized defaults VT-d = Disabled Boot mode = AHCI Boot selection = Legacy XMP = Profile 1 Internal Intel Graphics = Disabled I think thats about it. Please help. I really appreciate it. Thanks.

10. Hello , i lately been trying to install OS X ML on my ATA hard disk i used another hard drive with the image of Hazard Mountain Lion on it and its bootable with chameleon any way i can boot the installation in -x -v -f , otherwise it freezes while am in the installation itself while formating or even while typing in my disk label it just freezes in a random time i installed clean without any fixes or patches or kexts from hazard's most of the time it runs fine but sometimes it freezes as well and i have to start over after its done and i boot into by OS X drive using my bootable HDD in -x -v -f it runs fine i put in my info i log in and i start opening windows like finder and so and it just freezes so if i am lucky to get past installation and booting up without freeze the OS, it freezes after startup. i can't track down the issue i thought its gpu i tried to use graphicenabler or even nvenabler no difference i see that in boot it always says AppleCpuPowerManagment service waiting and it times out i tried to use a fixed cpupowermanagment from the installation dvd by hazard (hdd i made) it changes that part but it freezes some where else my system is CPU: Intel Core2duo E7400 2.6 GHz it goes 2.8 from bios Mobo: GA EP-41-UD3L (rev 1.0) BIOS : F6 HDD : ATA 160GB WD i install from SATA 160GB WD GFX : nvidia 9600GT RAM: 4 GB DDR2 PS2 keyboard USB mouse no DVD rom attached while installing and when i did it didn't make any difference tho notes : Snow Leopard worked just fine i never could update to 10.6.7 tho i always got kernal panic by the end of update installation :/ also btw when i tried to install from USB instead it froze on the beginning of installation process usually after 2 - 4% every time but i think that's caused by poor mobo support for usb boot. here are some screenshots https://www.dropbox.com/s/edruclqpdo3xq9o/2013-07-27%2001.52.09.jpg this with clean setup and https://www.dropbox.com/s/3wjrq0rue9z4ln4/2013-07-27%2000.39.38-1.jpg sometimes i get this kernal panic after trying few patches in installation process but not always it usually freeze too here are my options while installing (link/attachments) http://leohazard.com/css/images/hazard10.8xb.gif
11. I have installed Mac OS X 10.6.3 onto my HDD and then successfully updated to 10.6.8 and have used to ##### option on the ##### package. I have installed all my needed kexts and my OSX86 system is stable and works. There is just one problem that i cannot seem to solve, Booting from the Hard Drive. I always need a CD to boot. Now i have a lenovo G770 laptop and have found this very useful guide http://www.dognmonke...dge-laptop.html - It doesnt seem to explain boot from a HDD. I just cannot seem to install the bootloader at all. I literally cannot workout how to go about this. I tried all of the usual ways and still cannot get a bootloader installed onto my HDD. i have run #####, the chimera installer, the chameleon 2.0 RC4 installer package and nothing will work. To make sure that each method does not clash with any of the other methods i first made a backup image of my OSX86 system and then everytime i try to install a bootloader and it doesnt work, i erase the HDD and then restore the image as to ensure there are no file conflicts or problems. Here is the type of error i recieve when trying the various methods: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/3/img0054lr.jpg/ Would anyone here know a way for my to boot from CD? Thanks for any input on the issue.
12. Hi! I have an UEFI bios (got it to install Yosemite on my Dell Inspiron laptop). Got an HDD with an old Mavericks system and an SSD with W7 and Yosemite. Today Clover suddenly stopped detecting my Yosemite and I couldn't boot into W7 as well (got "A disk read error occured" message). SSD was detected in BIOS, and I could boot into Mavericks on my SSD. I could see the SSD partitions fine, checked them with Disk Utility. Everything seems ok. Then eventually BIOS stopped seeing my SSD after a few reboots, and after trying to boot with the Yosemite install stick it stopped seeing any Clover boot options, I can't even boot into my HDD system. I haven't done anything suspicious before that happened, just installed USB WLAN card drivers on W7 and rebooted. Tried resetting BIOS options to default. My laptop model is Dell Inspiron N5110. Everything was working fine for months. Thank you!

MSI Z87-G45 Booting Issue

Hi everyone, My current set up is this: i5 4670k MSI Z87-G45 g.Skill Trident DDR3 2400 HD 7970 Kingston HyperX SSD I have 3 SSDs, two of which are Windows 8.1 and the other is OS 10.9. Everything is working on my build as I pmpatched, but the one thing that I run into is that I am unable to boot it without the help of my original install device which I used chameleon. I installed the basic kexts, but I am still running into the problem where I have to boot into my USB installation and then access my hackintosh hard drive that way. After I do that, everything else runs smoothly and the computer runs normally. The problem arises from when I try to boot into my kingston hard drive where 10.9 lives, it gives me boot 0 errors plus a bunch of unreadable symbols. Any ideas on what I might do to fix my booting issue? Thanks for the help!
14. Hi, I manage to get El Capitan installed, but am unable to boot from SSD and have to boot from usb everytime. Furthermore, I have to disable nvidia by using 'nv_disable=1' as I have a gtx 970. This leaves me in a pretty bad situation where I am unable to boot from my ssd or use my 970. Specs: i7 4790 (non-k) Asrock z97 extreme6, 16 gb ram, GTX 970 128gb ssd. All other drives removed for this.
15. Hi there. I will try to describe the problem with the best level of detail because this is REALLY weird. I was using my ASUS u36S-A1 with a modified DSDT and chamaleon with 10.7.2 (11C74), both modifications from this post: http://www.insanelym...howtopic=270686. Everything was working perfectly, I mean I've booted my machine like 200 times or more. At least one month of usage. So yesterday I boot my machine and I see: boot0: done So, I said.. ok something may have happened, I will reinstall chameleon from my usb memory stick, the usb memory stick which I refear, I have use it like 300 times during the installation, when I connect the USB to boot from it, I see: / 'Memory allocation error! Addr=0xdeadbeef , Size=0x0, File=hfs.c, Line=723 So, I cannot boot from my harddrive for the boot0:done error, and I cannot boot from my usb for the deadbeef error. Just want to share this situation in light that someone may guide me to solve my problem, I really don't know how to proceed. Any comment or idea will help me.
16. Please help me I can't find any solutions for this. I am trying to boot Niresh Mavericks 10.9 in a USB. I had this problem with iatkos as well.
17. Hello guys! This is my first time installing with Clover UEFI mode so i would need a bit help since i won't get Mavericks booting. I've made UEFI USB in my mavericks virtual machine and tried to get it booting with no luck. First question is what do i need in config.plist on my EFI partition since its all empty for some reason? Is my USB made the right way? ( Watch pictures from here http://imgur.com/a/vWvXx#0 Includes S/L/E + EFI Partition pictures ) Specs: Intel i7 4770K, MSi Z87-G45, MSi Cyclone 460 GTX, Kingston HyperX 1600MHz 2 x 4 GB, Seagate Barracuda 1TB I would like to use my PCI graphics card (worked before with legacy install). Any clues would be really appreciated! If you need something else to figure this out just ask! Thanks in advance!
