1. Hey guys, I used chimera for a while and I decided that Chimera wasn't good enough for me. I decided to switch to Clover. I erased the drive and created a clover installation drive. It worked fine.Mavericks installed correctly. I installed kexts and then I installed clover to the macintosh drive. So I unplugged the USB stick and booted. I received a boot0 error. Whenever I start with the flash drive, It's fine. But I can't solve this boot0 error. Please help. Btw, I only know how to fix this with chimera, and I started with clover yesterday, so I'm kind of a newbie. On the screen: boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: test boot0: test boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: test boot0: test boot0: Error =========================== Edits: Edit 1: Missing 4 lines of boo0: test ============================
3. I made my USB boot drive using #####, but when I select it as my boot device, and try to boot, it says: boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: done And it just stops there, with a blinking cursor. I can't get to the installation screen. Does anyone know what problem I'm having, and how I can fix it? Thanks
4. Hi, All. I've recently got myself a hackintosh build: i54690k @ 3.5Ghz, 256gb SSD, Cosair VS550 PSU, Gigabyte Z97N-Wifi, Fury Hyperx 8gb Ram, Gygabyte GTX 750Ti graphics. And while that's great and all, if I can't boot, it's useless. I have an 8gb USB2.0 stick, with Sierra installer and clover on it. I plug it into the USB 2.0 port on the machine, push power, f12, General UDisk, and receive the following for about 0.5 of a second: boot0: test Boot0: done boot1: /boot6 Then my BIOS hits, and I'm stuffed. There is a 'continue' button, which when clicked, flickers the screen and goes back to square 1. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Good Hackintosh Ringrazio @carbo178 e @friscos
6. Hi, I just got a new 2TB WD Caviar Blue drive to mainly keep my files and have Mac OS X on it too. I have it partitioned in MBR with 1 partition of 200GB HFS+ and the remainder a 1.62.. NTFS. I can boot the installer USB just fine and install ML on the 200GB partition but when I install chimera(or chameleon or clover) to it and try to reboot using the new bootloader it hangs at boot0: error and for clover boot0af: error (OR if I install boot0ss, boot0ss: error). The drive's sector size is 512bytes, checked via diskutil and windows fsutil(no 4K advanced format). The drive is connected at Marvell 88SE9172 and previously(with same results) at X79 Sata3 both 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s. Any ideas? EDIT: It really was a 4K drive, note to anyone with this drive: All WD20EAR* drives use 4K advanced format but the firmware emulates 512B sectoring, software will report they are 512B physical sectors, they are NOT!
7. Hello everybody, this morning when I rebooted my Hackintosh system I was greeted by the following lines instead of the usual Chameleon menu: boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: done I was able to boot from an USB stick which had an OS X installer, and therefore Chameleon, on, but none of the common repairs helped. I tried to reinstall Chameleon, update to the latest SVN non-testing version, install Chameleon in another partition of the same disk on which i had installed Yosemite for testing (it didn't boot from there either), use the well known dd command (without the bs=4096 parameter) even if it doesn't look like the classic 4K sector issue (I do have a WD Caviar Black but as far as I know the 4K sector problem shows up with a "boot0: error" line). I am attaching a DarwinDump hoping some of you will know where to look. Thanks in advance.
8. So continues the problems. I installed OS X today and when I try boot from my HDD it gives me boot0: error. I tried to dual boot it via separate partitions. I can load from the Mac partition via Clover on USB, but it hangs here: http://i.imgur.com/fuXFDfZ.jpg By the way, I can also boot into Windows fine from Clover.
9. Hey guys, So I have been trying to get mac and windows 7 dual boot on this asus laptop for months now. As of now I do have both properly installed (using iAtkos L2). A huge problem i am running in to though is with my boot. When i start the laptop all i see is: boot0: done Thats it, nothing more nothing less. I have tried installing boot1h through terminal from the DVD, I have tried to run ###### and try to reinstall chameleon. I have even reinstalled lion trying both chimera and chameleon. All give me the same problem and I can't seem to get it past this point. :/ As a last resort, Ive come here again lol What can i do at this point? Thanks for your help guys!
10. I installed Yosemite using the guide here : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/301138-new-usb-installer-os-x-yosemite-chameleon-r2437/ All is well except booting - I have to boot using the usb installer. If I set my new Yosemite drive as the first bootable drive in the bios, it is ignored (no messages) and the next available drive boots instead. What I've tried so far: Setting Start Disk to the Yosemite drive using the built-in Mac tool Start Disk. Setting partition active on Yosemite drive. Installing most recent chameleon (v2.3 r2437) on new Yosemite drive. Rebuilding kext caches. Setup: Gigabyte EX58-UD5 i7 2.67GHz 6GB RAM GeForce 9800GT 512MB SSD Boot drive I am using a DSDT.aml file which I found for my motherboard, which fixes a problem with the resetting of CMOS. That worked fine on Mavericks - I don't know if it needs to be updated for Yosemite. org.chameleon.Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"><plist version="1.0"><dict><key>DSDT</key><string>/Extra/DSDT.aml</string><key>EthernetBuiltIn</key><string>Yes</string><key>Graphics Mode</key><string>1900x1200x32</string><key>GraphicsEnabler</key><string>Yes</string><key>Kernel Flags</key><string>kext-dev-mode=1</string><key>PciRoot</key><string>1</string><key>ShowInfo</key><string>Yes</string><key>Theme</key><string>Choose_Your_OS</string><key>Timeout</key><string>4</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key><string>Yes</string></dict></plist> Any suggestions - should I be looking at Clover instead?Or is this just a simpler problem to do with making my boot drive properly active?

Cannot Boot From Hard Disk

Hey, I've successfully installed iATKOS L2 on my laptop. However, I cannot boot from the hard disk no matter what I try. In other words, Chameleon doesn't load, and I have to use a USB stick with Chameleon on it to boot into my OS X install. I would see Chameleon loading with "boot0: done," but it would immediately take me to the Windows bootloader instead of Chameleon. NOTE: Windows was preinstalled on this laptop, and it is using the MBR partition table. So anyways, I consulted my friend, who is pretty good with hackintoshing. He told me to make the OS X partition active. I did that successfully, but now I get a boot0 error when booting up. It just gets stuck there, so I have to boot from my USB drive which has Chameleon installed on it to choose an operating system. My friend then said that I probably have a hard drive with 4k boot sectors. I followed a guide on MacBreaker (http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/02/hackintosh-boot0-error.html) to copy the boot1h file to my OS X install from my iATKOS installer drive. However, that didn't work, and I still get the boot0 error when booting up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, TheRacerMaster
12. Hello. After a long time, I decided to dive in to Hackintoshes again. Today, I successfully installed iAtkos ML2 on my HP HPE170f desktop. Everything works great, it's incredibly smooth, and has been a lot of fun to use. After installing, I updated to 10.8.3 using the built-in updater (after seeing someone else have success with it). It worked a treat for me. I didn't realize though until an hour ago that I was still booting off the iAtkos USB I made, so I decided to remove it, received a one-line error "boot0:error". I Googled, and found the guide that you will most likely tell me to try; the one where you pull out the boot1h file out of the Chameleon or Chimera pkg, drop it on a second USB, reboot into the installer, unmount, dd= , the whole shebang. Each time I do it, it tells me it has successfully copied. The error has now changed slightly, instead of just one line telling me boot0 error, there are also a few lines that say "GPT". But it will always stop there. Things to note: Before messing with the boot1h fix, I attempted to manually install Chimera (once through the tool that as I understand is not acceptable to mention around here, and once through the standalone installer) After getting frustrated with the repeated error, I also tried to directly install Chameleon. I made sure the USB that I stored the boot1h file on was formatted to HFS+ The boot1h file was placed at the root of the USB stick. I have a 1TB Hitachi drive. I have no idea what the current sector size is (or how to tell). This is quite literally the only slight stumbling block on my way to Hackintosh perfection. I am very, very pleased at the way it's running, and to be honest, this isn't really a huge problem, but it is an annoyance that any time I restart or turn on (not that I do often) that I need to have the USB installer present. If any more information is needed, please let me know. I feel that I have covered everything thus far. but it's possible I missed something. Thank you all for your time.
13. I've recently installed Mac OS X 10.8 using ##### on a custom built computer. Since I already had Windows installed, I had to install it using the MBR partition scheme. Turns out that I can't boot without the installation USB Drive. Everytime I boot the HDD, it shows "boot0: done". Only that message, no "boot0: Test" or "boot0: MBR". The active partition is the one thats Mac OS X is installed in. What do I have to do to fix this without having to reinstall Windows and Mac OS X again?
Addr: 0xdeadbeef, Size: 0x0, File: hfs.c, Line: 784. This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!!". Provando a staccare ssd dove è collocato Yosemite mi sono accorto che la chiavetta parte tranquillamente. Grazie in anticipo Ps: se ho sbagliato sezione avvisatemi... xD
15. Hi there. I will try to describe the problem with the best level of detail because this is REALLY weird. I was using my ASUS u36S-A1 with a modified DSDT and chamaleon with 10.7.2 (11C74), both modifications from this post: http://www.insanelym...howtopic=270686. Everything was working perfectly, I mean I've booted my machine like 200 times or more. At least one month of usage. So yesterday I boot my machine and I see: boot0: done So, I said.. ok something may have happened, I will reinstall chameleon from my usb memory stick, the usb memory stick which I refear, I have use it like 300 times during the installation, when I connect the USB to boot from it, I see: / 'Memory allocation error! Addr=0xdeadbeef , Size=0x0, File=hfs.c, Line=723 So, I cannot boot from my harddrive for the boot0:done error, and I cannot boot from my usb for the deadbeef error. Just want to share this situation in light that someone may guide me to solve my problem, I really don't know how to proceed. Any comment or idea will help me.
