  2. What you need: Niresh 10.8.2 Distro 10.8.4 Combo Update. (not from software update or app store) Intel Graphics Kext. (Credit Goes to GhostRaider) Graphics Kext Download Install 10.8.2 using niresh, and select customizations used: 1. (Graphics) move graphics extensions. 2. (Audio) VooDooHDA 2.8.2 3. (Laptop) iSightcam 4. (Additional kexts) un-select disabler 5. (Replace AppleACPIPlatform) deselect 10.8.1 6. (Chameleon extra) select mac book pro 8,1 After install and boot into desktop install combo update but do not restart yet. delete all intel graphics kext and use kext wizard to rebuild permissions and cache and restart. once booted into desktop install Graphics kext from zip using kext wizard (make sure to rebuild permissions and cache again) and edit chameleon boot file in extra folder and add <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1600x900x32</string> after you have edited the boot file restart. you should now have a working mac 10.8.4 installed. Things to fix, iMessages, Sleep and battery percent icon. I hope this guide helps others, i have taken what i have learned from trial and error and put together working solution
  3. Ciao, this tutorial is written after months of failed installations (at least 20) and testing which probably wrecked my laptop by now. The following applies for the Acer Aspire 4750g, a notebook which is really a pain in the ass. However, if other notebooks also have an Intel Core i7 (with sandy bridge Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics) or an Nvidia GT 540M (this card is NOT supported, but detected by Lion), one can also follow some points from this guide to achieve full QE/CI. Of course, credit goes out to tonymac, netkas, etc. who have come up with great utilities and kexts, as well as the Chinese language Acer forums which I ripped the kexts from. Hope that others with the same pain-in-the-ass laptop can stop worrying now. http://yfrog.com/odzygepj Here are the specifications of this model and what is working and what is not: CPU and chipset - Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM - WORKING without DSDT needed, integrated Intel HD 3000 FULLY WORKING Display - 14" HD 1366 x 768 - WORKING at full resolution Graphics - NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M with NVIDIA® Optimus™ technology - NOT SUPPORTED as mentioned above, but integrated graphics WORKING. Disable NVIDIA card in BIOS if possible Audio - no idea - WORKING Webcam - NOT WORKING Wireless - Atheros AR9287 - NOT WORKING for me (BUT other forums reports working with kext+fix, haven't tried fix) Keyboard and touchpad - WORKING USB - Not all ports work, USB 3.0 SHOULD WORK with kext And here is what you need: 8GB USB drive or larger Lion installer dmg (from Mac App Store) or Lion installer thumbdrive (from Apple) [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] (as of this tutorial v4.2) Chimera (as of this tutorial v1.7) Bag of kexts - links are below! [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] 1. Download [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] and follow its instructions to create an installer thumbdrive - http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/[url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url]-install-mac-os-x-lion-using.html 2. Copy the following packages onto the thumbdrive (in an empty folder) - Chimera (bootloader) VoodooHDA 0.2.7.3 (to enable sound) Your favourite kext installer OR [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] (in place of the three options above) IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext (to enable USB) - http://www.osx86.net/view/2065-iousbfamily.kext_for_non_working_usb-s..html Networking kexts (optional, might not work) VoodooBattery.kext (optional) TIP! - If you need to install it on an MBR partition, use the patcher - http://3rr0rists.net/driver/mbr-patch-for-lion-gm.html ([url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] cannot install to MBR, only GUID which didn't work for me due to bootloader reasons) 3. Install Lion (simple, not a lot of options) - Partition with GUID unless patched, I suggest patching and using MBR. 4. Reboot and boot new installation using [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive, in single-user mode (-v -s) 5. Mount the root partition in read-write mode (instructions in terminal) 6. 'cd' to /System/Library/CoreServices/"Setup Assistant.app"/Contents, edit Info.plist and delete the lines with keyboard selection and device selection (sudo pico, or copy over with a patched Info.plist floating somewhere from the internet) 7. Exit and finish setup assistant. 8. Copy the folder full of kexts from the [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive to the desktop. 9. Run Chimera pkg and VoodooHDA pkg OR 10. Run [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url], selecting Chimera and VoodooHDA ONLY. 11. Reboot (although you would most likely get kernel panic) using [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive back into new installation. 12. Using the terminal, copy the following files: sudo -s mkdir /Extra/Extensions cp -rf /Volumes/([url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url])/Extra/Extensions /Extra cp /Volumes/([url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url])/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist /Extra cp /Volumes/([url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url])/Extra/smbios.plist /Extra 13. Go to /Extra/Extensions, and delete IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext 14. Copy the proper IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext which you downloaded to /Extra/Extensions 15. Run the following in Terminal sudo chmod -R 755 /extra/extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext sudo chown -R root:wheel /extra/extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext 16. Run Kext Utility OR fix permissions, rebuild cache with your favourite utility. Install VoodooBattery (optional) 17. Reboot without [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] thumbdrive in verbose mode. That's it! If network is desired, kexts (http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&amp;id=1626) and link for fix (http://bbs.pcbeta.com/viewthread-882193-1-1.html second post) is here. Any file one requires, I can upload upon request! This is my first Hackintosh guide, so please forgive and point out mistakes. Grazie..
  4. Hi i try to make working this chip under 10.6.8 (clover as bootloader) on acer 4810TG laptop. i short the story... QE/CI work fine, hdmi work fine (as extened desktop), vga work fine (as extended desktop too) after hours, and hours of test i can't have the lvds working, i only get a black screen (backlight work) but, the screen himself is well detected as primary display, as hdmi and vga can work as extended desktop. so, i think it's a bad routing, but i don't know where... i follow this tutorial : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/252061-mobility-radeon-hd-4650full-resolution-with-qe-ci-working-on-internal-lvds-screen/?do=findComment&comment=1655903 and using the "old method" here is radeon_bios_decode result : ATOM BIOS Rom: SubsystemVendorID: 0x1002 SubsystemID: 0x9552 IOBaseAddress: 0x4000 Filename: BR32868.002 BIOS Bootup Message: BR32868.002 M92 DDR3 64bit 450e/600m PCI ID: 1002:9552 Connector at index 0 Type [@offset 45934]: LVDS (7) Encoder [@offset 45938]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (0x21) i2cid [@offset 45996]: 0x96, OSX senseid: 0x7 Connector at index 1 Type [@offset 45944]: VGA (1) Encoder [@offset 45948]: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (0x15) i2cid [@offset 46019]: 0x90, OSX senseid: 0x1 Connector at index 2 Type [@offset 45954]: HDMI-A (11) Encoder [@offset 45958]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 46042]: 0x91, OSX senseid: 0x2 here is redsock_bios_decoder result : BR32868.002 : BR32868.002 M92 DDR3 64bit 450e/600m Subsystem Vendor ID: 1002 Subsystem ID: 9552 Object Header Structure Size: 197 Connector Object Table Offset: 32 Router Object Table Offset: 0 Encoder Object Table Offset: 97 Display Path Table Offset: 10 Connector Object Id [14] which is [LVDS] encoder obj id [0x21] which is [INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (osx txmit 0x12 [duallink 0x2] enc 0x4)] linkb: false Connector Object Id [5] which is [VGA] encoder obj id [0x15] which is [INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (osx txmit 0x00 enc 0x10?)] linkb: false Connector Object Id [12] which is [HDMI_TYPE_A] encoder obj id [0x1e] which is [INTERNAL_UNIPHY (osx txmit 0x10 [duallink 0x0] enc 0x0)] linkb: false so, as in the tutorial, i use the defaut personality "shrike" and patching it. (i tried with "flicker" and "gliff" too, no succes) first, i need confirmation. is this path really correct for lvds (i have a doubt about encoder) ? : transmitter : 12 encoder : 00 hotplugID : 00 senseline 07 edit : i tried with the encoder set to 04, it's not better. i forgot to mention, this laptop also has a gma 4500mhd, but is disabled in bios. this could have importance for the primary display anyway ? Thanks for your help
  5. Specs of laptop http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...affixedcode=WW'>http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...affixedcode=WW Hello, I am really hoping someone can help me, I have had no issues getting Mountain Lion to get installed on this laptop, the issue is that resolution is so big its off the screen so you can only see part of the screen, chimera makes qe/ci work as the bar is transparent. The graphics look oddly dull. It has an Alps trackpad I can't get working. I have tried numerous intel kexts and I'm at a road block, I don't understand dsdt editing I have tried and fail every time, the intel framebuffer depending on which kexts are used either can not load and will unload or just says failed to load. This is a sweet laptop for the price with a 17" monitor, all specs are here, thanks for the help, Plourde http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...affixedcode=WW
  6. Hello everyone, I'm trying to install Mountain Lion on my Acer Aspire 5920g, which has the following specs: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 GPU: Geforce 8600M GS RAM: 2x 1GB Hynix DDR2 I made the usb stick containing the needed files to install Mountain Lion (also my patched DSDT, which works like a charm with Snow Leopard), but I'm having a problem: if I boot only with -v I'm stuck on "[PCI Configuration End]", but if I boot with -v USBBusFix=Yes I get stuck on this error (the one in the screenshot) I have exactly the same problem with Lion, but I can install snow leopard without problems (from DVD). I think that this is a USB problem 'cause I had a problem depending by USB also with snow leopard installed on a USB hard drive: snow leopard used to power off the usb during the boot, so the boot used to stop, but i fixed this using the "USBBusFix=Yes" at booting. I hope someone can help me, Thank you!
