  1. MSI G41M-P26 4 GB DDR3 1333 Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz/4M/1333 CPU SLA9X Sony BD-5300S I used MyHack to install Lion however not matter what I do I can not update the install. I want to know if anyone has and tricks to get the system to boot. What I do get when I do -v is the automated voice as you would get when you first set up your mack and if I use the arrow keys the voice speeds up or rewinds. Ideas?

    Intel HD 3000 after 10.7.4

I had Lion working with my Intel HD 3000 Graphics (DEV 0x0116) and after the 10.7.4 update it boots fine and then flashes blue for a second and goes blank. If HDMI is plugged the screen comes alive and works till next reboot. This is a vanilla install using the latest FakeSMC and Chimera.
  3. Hello all, I have successfully installed 10.8 on a partition on my HP ENVY dv6-7247cl and am able to update to 10.8.1. After using the 10.8.2 delta update or the 10.8.4 combo update, however, I encounter "Still waiting for root device" when attempting to boot. Though I have scoured forums all over the internet, I cannot identify the cause or find a solution. Any help for this inexperienced hackintosher would be greatly appreciated! Edit: Managed to install 10.9 DP1 on another partition, but I still get "Still waiting for root device." If anyone could offer some ideas, that would be fantastic. Below are what I figure are the important specs as reported using AIDA64; if any more information is needed, please ask. Update from Mavericks

Hello Everybody! :-) Since winterholidays are coming nearer and nearer and i got some time in there, i thought it would be a good idea to update/upgrade my Mavericks hackintosh to the newest El Captain. But the only problem is, i don't know exactly how. And since i do not have a very common, or very compatible system for hackintosh it will be a slightly difficult for me, i think. I used myHack (which won't be developed any further i think), to get Mavericks running on my Machine. So i got a quite clean Vanilla System, if i got right what vanilla is. The System runs realy fast and stable with the installed DSDT and some kexts for Ethernet and Sound. CPU: Core2Quad Q6700 Mainbaord: ASUS Maximus II Formula Graphics: nVidia 9800 GTX Ethernet: Marvell Yukon 88E8056 @working with modified IONetworkingFamily.kext Sound: AD200B @working with modified AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext The Question is now: how do i update, to not destroy my whole system? I also installed chameleon as bootloader, because it comes with myhack. When i read right, i do have to replace it with clover, right? regards typhoon
  5. Today i got this message for the first time from the new NVIDIA System Preferences pane that a new driver is available. I couldn't find this update on their site as a standalone- this could be the first direct update for users of the NVIDIA Web drivers. NVIDIA Web Driver 313.01.02f01 http://us.download.nvidia.com/Mac/Qu...3.01.02f01.pkg How to Install the Web Drivers: In order to flag the alternate drivers on a CustoMac, you must install the package and also add the flag manually to the chameleon.org.Boot.plist. For Chimera bootloader: 1. Open Finder 2. Navigate to /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist 3. Open in TextEdit 4. Add nvda_drv=1 to Kernel Flags as shown: Example Usage: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>darkwake=0 nvda_drv=1</string> 5. Save and reboot You should be on the new NVIDIA drivers.
  6. This is an optimised version of zlib-1.2.8 with Apple optimised patch applied created from zlib-55 diffed against zlib-1.2.5. It is compiled and optimised for running very fast and has all optimisations set in the build. I created also an installer package. It is of course fully signed with a proper developer certificate. It replaces and puts also a compatibility link in place for current "Release" zlib-1.2.5 Sources are included and also files needed to generate an installer package (see cpio, xar, flat package editor, productsign and productbuild manuals from Xcode for more info). Enjoy zlib-56-installer.zip zlib-56.tar.xz.zip
  7. Hello all - I have a functional OS X Mountain Lion VMWare image running on my PC system (Win 7 Ultimate) and attempted to upgrade to Mavericks. Well, I need to admit that I found the Mountain Lion VMWare image for download after spending a couple of weekends or so without success trying to create a new VMWare image from scratch. Anyways, when running OS X ML I get the upgrade notification / option and thought it was a straight forward process. After the download I proceed with the install and before rebooting, I even ran the steps - I thought were the key to fix the freeze issue after the reboot - described here: http://chee-yang.blogspot.com/2012/04/mac-os-x-on-vmware-update-10711073.html Either way - after the upgrade request for reboot (or auto-reboot after a certain time span passes) - the image fails to boot and while the color full mouse cursor keeps spinning, the grey spinner stops spinning on the apple logo screen. I have managed to safe boot the image and change to verbose boot. I am attaching the screen shot and am hopeful that somebody will be able to tell at which state the image stalls or what may need to be changed to successfully boot the VMWare image completing the Mavericks install. Any suggestions / recommendations are very much appreciated! PS: I know nothing about Apple OS (other than having some experience with Linux) so please use the -v switch when responding A gazillion thanks in advance!

Shellshock the bug could be bigger than Heartbleed. The Bash vulnerability being referred to by some as ‘Shell Shock’ allows an attacker to run a wide range of malicious code remotely.
