    Trackpad issues

Hello, folks! I have this nice 15'' Sony Vaio laptop, powered by an I3 CPU with HD3000 graphics (with which i struggled a lot to enable QE/CI, but now it's nice), Conexant audio (I had to give up native HDA and DSDT solution because my DSDT didn't go well with the said HD3000, so i'm using VoodooHDA now) and Atheros/Realtek network (all working). All in all, a rare case of a laptop where everything works without need to replace or swap anything. The only weak spot is the trackpad: it is working, with latest Rehabman's synaptics driver, but it's being recognized as a mouse and only gives me very basic controls. No two finger scrolling, no tap and drag, not even click and drag. That is, it's working but it's barely functional. In verbose mode, i could see trackpad is being recognized as ALPS, so I tried a kext from OSXLatitude that previously worked for me with ALPS, but this killed both my keyboard and my trackpad, so I had to revert to Rehabman's. Any help would be much appreciated, because this laptop is very close to be a perfect win. All the best! SOLVED! By using the latest version of the OSXLatitude's ALPS driver, the one which is merged with Rehabman's. Now everything smooth as it can be. All the best!
  3. Hi, folks! Having lots of difficulties with these, which I took for granted as easy fixes. As always, tried hard to solve it myself, but since the troubleshooting steps that worked for others aren't working for me, I really could use some help. The computer is a Sony Vaio laptop, with a Sandy Bridge I3-2370-TM CPU, Intel HD3000 graphics and Atheros 9285 Wi-Fi (as already described in the topic's title). I patched my DSDT with the 9285 patch and with the HD3000 patch from Olarila: http://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1500 (warning: portuguese), but also tried without these patches and combinations of GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No and PCIRootUID=0/1. I use a MacBookPro 8,1 system definition as recommended for my hardware (sandy bridge). Attached is a Darwin Dumper report, an Everest Ultimate report, my current patched DSDT and my current org.chameleon.Boot.plist. Any help will be much appreciated! All the best!
  4. Hi, folks! Thanks to an arduous research here, there and everywhere, I'm running Mavericks on a borrowed 2011 Sony Vaio (15''-Core i3-HD 3000-Realtek 8168-Atheros 9285) almost perfectly. The cool thing is, I didn't need to replace any HW part - neither could I, since the machine's not mine - taking just hard work and quite a few hours of my time to get it running this way. This is quite uncommon for laptops, which usually won't have a supported bluetooth or a supported ethernet or supported card reader etc. That said, I'm getting some issues that, far from being a deal breaker, are anyway annoying enough to not try to solve. First, sleep: this is kinda expected, since I had to patch AICPUPM for the mobile Sandy Bridge CPU to get rid of NCPUPM. The system won't go to sleep even if I use the sleep option in the Apple logo menu, or in the popup that appears when I press the laptop's power button. The screen will turn off, and that's all - and it won't turn back on, forcing me to do a hard reboot. Not funny. pmset -g assertions give me this output: post-998446-0-43218600-1384293621.png But iFire informed the kernel assertions are a bug and shouldn't prevent idle sleep, much less manual sleep. Second, and equally frustrating, is that every time I try to use the "About This Mac" option of the Apple logo menu, i'm log off from the system. In fact, I found out it's a crash, here's a screenshot of Console's latest crash report about it: If I access System Information via Applications/Utilities, it works just fine. Any advices? All the best!
  5. Hi everyone, I have been trying for a while now to install Mac OS X El capitan 10.11.4 on the Sony Vaio VPCEB1M1E with limited succes. I am using Clover (latest version) The biggest problem is no LVDS detected and the notebook has a blackscreen as soon as OS X starts. I have created several config files, and if I disable Inject ATI i can login to the system without QE/CI. Wi-Fi works, AR9285. So I installed teamviewer, reboot, enable ATI config, got blackscreen, but logged in with teamviewer and QE/CI is working. I created an IOREG this way with IORegistryExplorer 2.1 and I have also attached my entire EFI partition, all unpatched ACPI tables are included. I think the problem is wrong connector info. Have tried several different framebuffers, Hoolock, Orangutan, Vervet, all give blackscreen on LVDS. Device ID: 68c1 There are several config files, config4 is the bootconfig I used to make the IOreg. VGA is not working , have not been able to test HDMI (yet). Here is my entire EFI Folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ig134fl6pdq193a/Archief.zip?dl=0 I found the following topics about the problem and there only seems to be a chameleon solution: http://yun.baidu.com/share/link?uk=3355666171&shareid=42351891&third=0&adapt=pc&fr=ftw http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248751-mobility-radeon-hd-5650-qeci-work-262-update/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...d5000-and-hd4000-series-support-in-chameleon/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...vds-qeci-1600x900-need-help-with-personality/ I hope someone can solve this. Good hack to you all, Nikita IOREG.zip EDID.txt
  6. Hi, I have installed 10.10.0 Yosemite to my Sony VAIO E Series VPCEH25EN. Boot flags used -v dart=0 -f After installation, I have installed the 10.10.5 Combo Update. After reboot I have installed some kexts, Basic Boot Options, Chimera bootloader, SMBIOS into my Yosemite SSD. FYI, Full Graphics and native resolution along with Graphics Chipset detected was present at the first boot. I didn't have to add any kexts. Boot time has reduced. I have full Graphics, native resolution, App store access. The only thing I want to work is HDMI. No HDMI output, I have tried my AOC monitor and Sony Bravia TV. Not working. Before I play around with tools, I wanted an expert opinion on what should I try. Graphics chip is NVIDIA GeForce 410M 512 MB. I have tried booting with GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No . No change. Should I try Nvidia Web Driver? And what is EDID Injection? Is it necessary for HDMI to work?

    Sony Vaio VGN NR11S OSX86

Hi everyone I got my hands on Vaio VGN NR11S, on witch I want to install OS X. I've been researching the foruns, and still didn't get any example or case of someone who has used one of this laptops with a installation of OS X86. So the laptop has the following specs: CPU - Core 2 Duo T5250 Chipset - INTEL GM965 Graphic Adapter - Intel GMA X3100 Audio - Realtek HD Audio Wifi - Intel3945ABG (this one i assume will not work.) So I was planning to install Leopard or Snow Leopard, since I think Lion will be a little bit too much for this buddy. Any idea of what distribution I should use? Best Regards and thanks in advance!
