  1. Hello, I am attempting to setup a Virtual Machine for Mac Os Sierra and I am having some trouble setting up the operating system to boot on VMware. I had already tried CPU masking which made the kernel panic on the picture and without says the CPU is Disable by the Guest Operating System. I had tried researching this problem but everything dates back to Snow Leopard or it does not work for me. Specs: Intel Q6600 4 Gbs Ram P5G41T-M LX PLUS Motherboard GTX 1050 Ti Vmx file:
  2. Well, I'm going to be upgrading my main rig pretty soon, and so I'm looking to see if there's any interest in some components from my current hackintosh. 1) Intel DG33TL LGA775 Motherboard - Hackintosh compatible Lion, Mountain Lion (sound only thing not working) - mATX, but still has four slots for RAM (max 8GB) - Compatible with all LGA775 processors - No I/O shield sadly - Can guide you through the process of setting it up for OSX 2) Intel Q6600 Quad Core Processor - works like a champ - easily overclocked - will include Arctic Cooling CPU cooler ($15 value) 3) 4GB Mushkin Silverline DDR2 RAM (2x2GB) - responds well to overclocking - never had any issues Make me an offer via PM on any or all components, and I will get back to you! Paypal/Bitcoin only, preferably U.S. unless you're willing to pay shipping and duties.
  3. Hello fellow hackintoshers, I was wondering if I was able to install Mac OS X Mountain Lion on a custom built PC I am making/made (depending when I receive a reply), Here are the specs: MB: ASUS P5KC CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.4Ghz Non-OC RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR2-667Mhz (2x2GB) (Going to go 8GB or 4GB DDR3 soon (depending)) GPU: GIGABYTE NVidia GeForce 8400GS GDDR2 Sata DVD Drive HDD(s): 250GB Seagate (SATA), 160GB Hitatchi (SATA) I am open to installing either a distribution or retail depending which will work fast/best. Thanks for your reply.
  4. Hello, fellow hackintosh...ers ! I'm coming to you with a bit of a problem that got me to scratching my head pretty bad, to the point that I now think I'm actually scratching my frontal lobe. A week ago, I decided I was done with my Snow Leopard setup that was back from... well SL years. So I decided it was finally time to upgrade to a more up to date version. And what's more up to date than Mavericks DP8 ? A friend of mine running it on his iMac told me it was practically a GM, and that it was stable enough for a daily use. After a bit of research I found out some people were already running DP8 on their hackintoshes and so there was no reason to think I couldn't. So I went and installed Mavericks with myHack, and the installation went very well. I had some problems with booting (Resetting IOCatalogue), spent a few days trying to resolve them, tried installing Mountain Lion instead, had the same problems, came back to Mavericks, had some problems again (mainly thinking my Radedon HD4850 was the problem), all the while learning a lot about hackintoshes and I finally was able to boot on Mavericks DP1 after using a proper DSDT file that was made for a motherboard fairly similar to mine (The DSDT file is the "F13" for a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R and my MB is the GA-P35-DS3). Happy with my Mavericks DP1 properly booting, I decided to download a combo update to DP8 after installing the Realtek81xx kext that enabled ethernet connection and install it. So now I have Mavericks DP8 installed on my computer, but when I try to boot, I get stuck with "Resetting IOCatalogue" (several minutes after the previous line, which is in most cases mounting another partition from the hard drive, right after "DSMOS has arrived"), the exact same issue I had before upgrading from DP1 to DP8, except now the solution I had for it is still in effect but the problem came back. As advised on many threads, I removed every ATI, IntelHD and nVidia kext from /System/Library/Extension, in vain, the problem remains. It may or may not be useful to point out that I first had a "Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport" issue that I resolved by deleting Bluetooth-related kexts (I have no use for it), and that I also added a MacPro 3,1 smbios.plist in the /Extra folder. My config : Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 ATI Radeon HD4850 Err... that's it, pretty much. So, what's my move ? I fortunately have a Ubuntu setup with a Mountain Lion VM from which I can access and tinker with files on my Mavericks install. Thanks for reading ! EDIT : Oh and it goes without saying that I tried booting in safe mode, and the result was the same.
  5. Hi, After a few days, I got 10.8.4 installed and running on my GA-EP45-UD3P v1.6 FB with a Q6600 CPU. All is fine except one thing. Audio is working, speedstep is working, power management is working, and the graphics card is working fine until I launch WoW, at least it's working good enough for me not to notice an issue. In Windows 7 on this same machine, this PC gets in the high 80's and 90's while running on Ultra. But when I run WoW on OSX, Ultra gets 1 frame every few seconds. The menu lists it as 1 fps, but it would be more accurate to say 0.25 fps or lower. Bringing it down to fair only gets me up to the teens on fps, and low teens at that. When I had this machine set up with Snow Leopard, this same card sailed through WoW at over 100fps on Ultra. So, I know I missed something on this install. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Scott
