1. I'm looking to buy a USB wireless network adapter for a Mac Pro. What is a good device that has been confirmed to work with 10.10 Yosemite?
2. Hi, all! I instaled Mac OS - Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my laptop - Packard Bell Eastnote NJ65. Everything is OK, but Wi-Fi and Ethernet: My original Wi-FI card was Intel 5100 , but I saw there have not kext for it and I changed it with Broadcom BCM 4312. I tryed every kext what i found but after reboot everytime I have problem to boot OS. I have kernel panic or message to restart laptop. In the install disk I have fix for my card which I installed, but when I start Mac I haven't WiFi. When I try to make new connections in Network - there have not option for wireless, just 6 to 4; PPoe and VPN. The same problem with my Ethernet connection - I can not start it. It's Broadcom 5784M. Can somebody help me? May be I do something wrong, but I don't know what. Thank you very much! Regards T. Lapkov

Network Configuration

Hello... I have a RTL8139 network card. Lion recognizes it perfectly, but when I try to configure it with an authomatic DCHP, it gives me a wrong IP address and wrong Submask... If I try to configure it manually, I can't get connection. When I run the Diagnosis, I got the first 3 lights on green, but red in the two last... I try everything: put DNS and Gateway and so on... This is what I'm talking about: Does anybody got a clue??? Thanx in advance!!!

No NetworkInterfaces.plist...

Hello, This is my first post, anyway... I installed iATKOS ML2 on my PC, but the app store has an error 'An unknown error has occured'. I tried to delete my NetworkInterfaces.plist in System/Library/SystemConfiguration but to my suprise, there is none. I have tried rebooting and doing a hard boot. To no avail... Any help would be appreciated. [Note:] The only internet i have right now is through a USB mobile broadband stick, could that be why?
7. Hi everyone, I recently upgraded to El Capitan and my wireless network utility stopped working. I use an Asus USB AC56 and it won't work obviously without the utility. This is the original utility 0001-Wlan_11n_USB_MacOS10.8_Driver_UI_2.0.1.zip Can you please help me resolve the issue? I'm totally lost. Thanks!
8. The other day I installed 10.7.2 from USB installed the kexts for my network and audio that I found from this site for my p5q deluxe and everything worked perfect. Then yesterday I went to boot the machine and it hung at the apple logo. Not having a backup I re-installed and followed the same steps I did the day before. However now whenever I install the IONetworkingFamily.kext the machine freezes and the boot freezes. I tried to restore the kext with a backup of the original but it still wont boot. I have tried about 10 different kexts all doing the same thing. Anyone know what might be wrong? BTW I have the modified 3201 bios. Thanks
9. Hi I'm having a network attached HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP. I can print & scan with-out problems using the original HP software/driver on my "DELL OptiMac" but since VueScan is still "Top of the Pop", I would like to know if anyone has accomplished to use VueScan on Mac or Hack with a network connected MFP/scanner (preferebly HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP). System Profiler sees the HP printer, but does not see its scanning capabilities - I guess VueScan needs this to happen before VueScan will recognize the scanner: [ Snow Leopard 10.6.8 / 32bit / DELL Optiplex GX520 / P4 / 2.8GHz / 500GB-SATA / 4GB-RAM / Intel GMA950 ] Any comments or neat ideas are welcome. Edit: ------------------------------------------- My bad - this problem is solved in VueScan ver 9.0.71 and up - sorry! Best regards zEnterHacker
10. Hi, I have macOS Sierra 10.12 running on my Acer Aspire V5-573G notebook right now. Everything is fine apart from the wireless. Currently, I have access to the following network cards: 1. Dell DW 1530 - Broadcom 43228HM4L 2. Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Is it possible to use one of these two cards, or do I need to buy a new card? I'm looking at the Dell DW 1520 BCM94322HM8L and the Azure Wave AZ-NB290 BCM943225HMB at the moment.
11. Hi. I'm having some issues with my PCIe ethernet. I installed applertl8139ethernet.kext using ##### on hackintosh zone yosemite distro. My laptop is dell n5010. This is my kernel panic after i use internet for a couple of minutes. BTW my ethernet used to work Out of the box on mavericks. PS: RehabMan's and lnx2mac's kexts dont work either.
12. I managed to install ML, everything works great except for network. Firts tried with the integrated controller! RTL8111B which worked great in SL and Lion with the RTL8169 kext. In System Information, the controller is correctly recognized, device ID correct, kext shows loaded and in use. Also tried with a PCI D-Link using a RTL8169S chipset which also is correctly recognised, device ID correct, kext loaded etc. The problem is I have no netwok connections in System Preferences/Network, and I cannot add any. I also checked in Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and there is no networkinterfaces.plist and the other .plist for network (don't remember how it's called) Whan can I do, what is blocking the AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext to work ? I tried many versions, includin official newest from Realtek, older from SL and Lion etc but all have the same problem. In the chameleon plist I have built in ethernet set to yes. How I installed: from usb drive folowing this guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=280756&st=0. Then installed from ###### ML edition: Elliot Force Legacy RTC, Patched AppleRTC, Evoreboot, Chimera bootloader.
13. Hello, folks! As the title say, a bizarre network behavior with my 1201n I noticed some weeks ago. It's the following: it connects just fine with the Internet, but simply cannot initiate communication with any other computer, be it a Mac, a hackint0sh or a Windows PC. It can be accessed from the network by other computers though, just as it should. Even then, with a connection stablished, it cannot browse or send files to other computers, despite them being able to browse and send files to it once the connection is made. I tried to reapply the 10.8.4 combo update, and also updated Chameleon to latest trunk - I read somewhere else there was a bug with Enoch in which this network issue could be one of its symptoms. No joy. Any further suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated. All the best! Oh, forgot to mention: coupled with this already annoying issue, came another: non HFS disks won't mount at all - even ExFAT or FAT32 disks! That's why I suspected Enoch in the first place.
14. Hi there, This guide will enable your Intel addon NIC (EXPI9301CT) to fully support the Apple drivers and behave like a native Apple NIC. I wanted a solution for my trusted Intel NIC without having to use any third party kexts to get it working and also wanted it to be fully UEFI compatible. So I researched a little and would like to share my results in this short guide. Caution: This guide will only work for Intel Desktop CT NICs with PCI device ID 10D3. Also I only used OSX Yosemite to verify the results, but it should work in Mavericks, too. 1) Optional: Remove third party kext for the NIC Please remove any other third party kext you may have installed for your Intel NIC. We do not want any conflicts here later on. 2) Create a bootable DOS USB drive I used Rufus Boot USB Disk with an Image of Win98 DOS bootfiles to create it under Windows. The original ISO for the Win98 DOS Boot files can be found here http://goo.gl/WOaQi (Windows 98 DOS Boot). Any other DOS compatible Boot environment should work, too. 3) Download Intel Preboot files PREBOOT.EXE from http://goo.gl/ppSRzo 4) Copy the necessary files to the USB drive Extract the the download and copy the following files the bootable DOS USB drive Copy BOOTIMG.FLB from PREBOOT\APPS\BootUtil Copy BootUtil.EXE from PREBOOT\APPS\BootUtil\DOS 5) Restart and boot from the USB-Stick You will temporarily have to change the UEFI-BIOS settings to be able to boot from a DOS environment. I had to set the following options: Legacy USB = Enable SecureBoot = Other FastBoot = Off 6) Flash the NIC with EFI-ROM After Booting from the DOS USB drive please use the following commands in the given order. Backup the original ROM BootUtil -SAVEIMAGE -FILE=Backup.FLB Enable flash write capability on NIC BootUtil -FE -ALL Update NIC with EFI-ROM BootUtil -UP=EFI -ALL -FILE=BOOTIMG.FLB 7) Change PCI device ID with ethtool Congratulations, your Intel NIC is now UEFI compatible and should already show up in your UEFI BIOS. We now will have to change the device ID from the NIC, so that OSX can use the native driver. Boot from a Linux Live Boot environment (e.g. Ubuntu) and change the PCI device ID from 10D3 to 10F6 with ethtool. Please ensure your Intel NIC is eth0. We do not want to patch any other NICs by mistake. sudo -s apt-get install ethtool ethtool -E eth0 magic 0x10D38086 offset 0x16 value 0x00 ethtool -E eth0 magic 0x10D38086 offset 0x17 value 0x00 ethtool -E eth0 magic 0x10D38086 offset 0x1A value 0xF6 8) Start OSX and enjoy your native Apple Intel NIC Reboot and don't forget to change the UEFI-Settings back from step 4 to their original values. After this you can start OSX and the NIC should be recognized. Windows will pick up the NIC without any problems, so no worries if you want to switch back to Windows sometime later on. Disclaimer: Please note, this procedure solved a very specific problem for me and the guide is certainly not perfect. I do not take any responsibility for anything that may go wrong if you follow it. I hope this guide may be useful for someone and please feel free to give any suggestions that may improve it. Cheers, Maroder
