1. This project is dedicated to the memory of Mausi, the cat I loved more than anybody else. A few days before Christmas I started my latest project, a new driver for recent Intel onboard LAN controllers. My intention was not to replace hnak's AppleIntelE1000e.kext completely but to deliver best performance and stability on recent hardware. That's why I dropped support for a number of older NICs. Currently the driver supports: 5 Series 82578LM 82578LC 82578DM 82578DC 6 and 7 Series 82579LM 82579V 8 and 9 Series I217LM I217V I218LM I218V I218LM2 I218V2 I218LM3 100 Series (since V2.1.0d0) I219LM I219V 200 Series (since V2.3.0d0) I219LM I219V 300 Series (since V2.4.0d0) I219LM I219V Key Features of the Driver Support for multisegment packets relieving the network stack of unnecessary copy operations when assembling packets for transmission. No-copy receive and transmit. Only small packets are copied on reception because creating a copy is more efficient than allocating a new buffer. TCP, UDP and IPv4 checksum offload (receive and transmit). Support for TCP/IPv6 and UDP/IPv6 checksum offload. Makes use of the chip's TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO) feature with IPv4 and IPv6 in order to reduce CPU load while sending large amounts of data (disabled). Fully optimized for Sierra (64bit architecture) but should work with older 64bit versions of macOS too, provided you build from source with the appropriate SDK for the target OS. Support for Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). VLAN support is implemented but untested as I have no need for it. The driver is published under GPLv2. Current Status The driver has been tested successfully with I217V, I218V and 82579V under 10.9.5 and above. The attached archive includes source code as well as a prebuilt binary (debug version) for Mavericks and Yosemite. Known Issues There seem to be problems while using VMware with version 1.x.x of the driver. In case you are affected use version 2.0.0 or newer. FAQ Could you add support of for...? Well, you are probably asking me to add support for one of the older NICs like the 82571/2/3/4L or 82583 and the answer will be no as I dropped support for these chips intentionally. They are broken and I lost more than 2 weeks trying to make it work on the 82574L without success. I was asked to add support for I210, I211 and I350 but as these chips have a completely different architecture, which isn't supported by the underlying Linux driver, this is impossible, sorry. Does it work with Snow Leopard or 32 bit kernels? No and I have no plans to make a version for 32 bit kernels or anything older than Lion. WoL from S5 doesn't work with this driver but under Windows it's working. Is this a driver bug? No it isn't, the driver is working as it should because OS X doesn't support WoL from S5. Installation Goto /S/L/E and delete AppleIntelE1000e.kext. Recreate the kernel cache. Open System Preferences and delete the corresponding network interface, e. g. en0. Reboot. Install the new driver and recreate the kernel cache. I recommend to use Kext Wizard or a similar utility for the installation. Reboot Open System Preferences again, select Network and check if the new network interface has been created automatically or create it manually now. Configure the interface. Troubleshooting Make sure you have followed the installation instructions especially when you have issues with certain domains while the others are working fine. Use the debug version to collect log data when trying to track down problems. The kernel log messages can be retrieved with "grep kernel /var/log/system.log" in Terminal. Starting from Sierra use "log show --predicate "processID == 0" --debug" in order to retrieve kernel logs. Include the log data when asking for support or giving feedback. I'm an engineer, not a clairvoyant. Don't copy and paste large amounts of log data to your post. Create an archive with the log data and attach it to your post. In case you don't want to make your log data publicly accessible, contact me via PM and I will provide you a mail address to send it directly to me. Check your BIOS settings. You might want to disable Network Boot and the UEFI Network Stack as these can interfere with the driver. Double check that you have removed any AppleIntelE1000e.kext from your system because it could prevent the driver from working properly. Delete the following files: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist Verify your bootloader configuration, in particular the kernel flags. Avoid using npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000. In Terminal run netstat -s in order to display network statistics. Carefully examine the data for any unusual activity like a high number of packets with bad IP header checksums, etc. In case auto-configuration of the link layer connection doesn't work it might be necessary to select the medium manually in System Preferences under Network for the interface. Use Wireshark to create a packet dump in order to collect diagnostic information. Keep in mind that there are many manufacturers of network equipment. Although Ethernet is an IEEE standard, different implementations may show different behavior causing incompatibilities. In case you are having trouble try a different switch or a different cable. 4. This is a dedicated thread about the intel 8255X based ethernet cards which, although being old (but also very cheap and easy to find used online), they still works in the latest macOS releases today i tested mine with the 64 bit compiled AppleIntel8255X kext and works like a charm! stable and withou any issues with mine 100 mbit managed ethernet switch and also without suffering of problems like connection dieing under heavy load or sleep/wake issues, so just to report that i have create this dedicated thread about and also i leave the kext as an attachment, in this post, this may be usefoul to have cheap working ethernet for hackintosh machines running the latest macOS or just to reuse old hardware some one can have laying around. AppleIntel8255x.kext.zip
5. I have started this thread to discuss about old and very cheap ethernet cards working in the latest macOS releases, cards who just uses old ethernet controllers or are new and cheap cards with old ethernet controllers, this thread is just to discuss about such cards and also to have a list in the first post with reported working cards with drivers linked. To contribute you have to report which card of this kind is working for you and which driver or method you followed to get it wo work and also which issues you have, and then it will be added in the list. I start reporting cards which worked for me, yours will be added in the future: intel 8255X based cards: just works using the AppleIntel8255X kext (look in the attachments) and seems to be stable with no issues And also there are some cards i am curious to see if can work with mac, so i leave this part at the end of the post, do you know if it's possible to get realtek pci (not pci express) ethernet cards working in the latest mac os? i have a few of them and i have difficulties fining drivers for mac, having a driver for the latest mac wil help me in creating also a youtube video with the cheapest hackintosh compatible ethernet cards AppleIntel8255x.kext.zip

7. Hello, I have done a semi-successful install of macOS Sierra 10.12.6 on my Dell OptiPlex 3010. When I mean semi-successful, I mean I have some issues left, one of them is Networking. Networking, meaning Ethernet, does not seem to work on this machine after installing Mac OS. I've tried installing kext files, reinstalling Sierra, and so on but nothing seems to work, I have an Ethernet cable plugged and it's lights flashing and whatever but the connection does not show up in Sierra. RealtekR1000 v3

I want to present you updated RealtekR1000 driver. I added support for new chips according to linux's sources. Now it supports RTL8168E,F/8111E,F.It works for me and works better then v2.0.6 from realtek.com.tw. Now I have no problems with sleep/wake. With native driver I sometimes lose LAN after wake. With this driver never. UPDATE. In this version I applied my own inventions so my driver differs from native. 05.05.2015 Sorry about broken links. There is new one. My latest sources RealtekR1000SL_src_20.02.2014.zip RealtekR1000SL.kext-v312.zip 25.04.2013 Corrected a mistake with warm boot after Windows. Thanks for Mieze, dmazar, rehabman. Updated part for RTL 8105/RTL8136 This kext is compiled under SL, XCode 3.2.5. For use in ML I'll check little later. EDITED: I checked, it works in ML 10.8.3. 15.12.2013 I made some changes according to official Realtek driver 8.037, newest for now. I can't say I take it as a whole. No, my driver is cropped and may not work for some chips. Anyway it tested for me in Mavericks. Change log: - adopted for new chips RTL8168GU/8111GU, 8411B, RTL8168EP/8111EP . But not tested - autolink to 1000Mb/s - some functions for WOL, not tested. 17.12.2013 More changes from linux sources implemented 20.12.2013 Implemented WoL as Mieze did. 24.12.2013 More codes for 8105E but not complete
9. Hello I'm new to the forums and I just started working with hackintoshes. I'm my specs are just a plain ol' Dell insperon 15-3521 with OS X mavericks on it (because that's the only thing it will run with out major lag) I'm on a really tight buget and I have done this before and had no issues whatsoever installed threw ##### (OS X El captain) and worked perfect and I used a computer I built a long time ago and due to some family issues I'm no longer in possetion of it, anyway i installed mavericks on the Dell and I can't get internet wether it be Wi-Fi or ethernet and i think some of this has to do with me only being able to boot into safe mode mavericks will get hung on the boot screen with the gray Apple logo and the spinning wheel I don't know what to do I haven't installed ##### because I'm waiting to hear back from you guys to see what I need to install thanks for your time everybody I hope this issue will be resolved soon. Ps I have done this in a Dell optiplex 755 (OS X mountain lion) and that's how I got my install disk for El captain OS X supported everything on it but I got rid of the optiplex a long time ago I tried Mountain Lion on the insperon and it supported nothing.
10. Hi there, I've been struggling for a while now with getting my Asus z270g motherboard's onboard lan to work with Sierra. I've been able to get most of the other components working thanks to the generous efforts of this forum, but this last problem has been causing me quite the level of stress! The z270g apparently has a i219-v chip, however it appears to be a bit different than the device's supported by IntelMausiEthernet (Which I've heard works very well with that chipset). It's using deviceID 8086:15d6 After looking through the source of the driver it appears that the particular device id isnt being searched for: 00:1f.6 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection (5) I219-V [8086:15d6] Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Ethernet Connection (5) I219-V [1043:8672] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 123 Memory at df100000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: e1000e Kernel modules: e1000e Here's what I've tried so far: With IntelMausiEthernet kext: Installed driver in /S/L/E and /L/E in addition to the Clover bootloader kext directory. By itself, none of these caused kextstat to load the driver automatically (Aside from the clover directory) Spoofing the Lan ID to something that the driver did support (ie one of the ones that was also using the i219v chipset), caused the driver to load (via kextstat), but no devices in system information or the network pref panel Followed a number of steps in the troubleshooting steps that Mieze listed with the same result (driver loaded but no devices) Didn't see any useful logging info in the debug info steps but happy to get that info if it would help With AppleIntelE1000e kext (from insanely mac)Very similar results to above With AppleIGB kextNo luck across the board (although I haven't tried spoofing the id with this drive) Happy to provide more information that would be relevant to the situation but not sure exactly what would help. Thanks!

Here's a video of the Network and system console: I know it's not (probably) the routers fault, because other computers connected to it via WiFi/cable work ok. I've updated my card kext to the latest AtherosE2200Ethernet-V2.1.0 and still the same. Is it my onboard LAN card failing, or is it software related to my Hackintosh? If you need some more debug info, please let me know what to paste. I've attached the log. Thanks for the help!

Kernel Panic on Using RealtekRTL8111 kext

Hi Guys, Thanks a lot devs for making hackintosh possible on AMD. I just updated to 10.10.5 from 10.10.3 and I get Kernel Panic until I remove the RealtekRTL8111.kext from S/L/E My Config: FX 8120 GA 970A DS3 (Non UEFI) 24GB DDR3 320GB HDD I am using Chameleon as bootloader. Everything was working fine in 10.10.3 I updated and used the kernel and other files in Zip in AMD Development Section. Everything else is working fine. It boots all fine If I remove the kext and clear the cache. I have tried both v 1.2.3 and 2.0 It doesnt boot into Safe Mode with the kext. Kindly Help finding a solution. I mainly use this for iOS development. I have a Mac book Air but its too small for long time work.

15. Hi, I have a Gigabyte GA-x79-UD5 mainboard, running ML 10.8.5 and a problem to get ethernet up and running. In System Preferences nothing shows up, the ethernet controller is not recognized. However, if I boot up in safe mode, it is there and working. I installed the hnak AppleIntelE1000e.kext with ##### (several versions from 5.2.1 to 5.5.5) several times, then removed the IONetworkingFamily.kext from S/L/E and installed the untouched version from my ##### stick, reinstalled the hnak AppleIntelE1000e.kext, and still nothing. I also deleted the networkinterfaces.plist and preferences.plist from Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. To no avail. I'm at my wits end and would appreciate some help so much. Thanks!

Open source iats Atheros L1 network adapter driver compiled for Mavericks. Source taken from the project on Google Code (svn/sl/atl1) and not modified, except to change the build target to OS X 10.9. I've tested it for weeks on my P5L-MX with 10.9.3 through 10.9.5 and it seems to work fine so far. Should work for various other boards, particularly by ASUS. Installation: works well in an EFI system partition and should also work fine in /Extra. Compiled in Xcode 6.0.1.

18. Hey, I installed OS X 10.9 on my system without any issues, no bootflags whatsoever, it installed and booted just fine. My only issue is that I can't get my LAN working. I installed various drivers and I still can't get it working. My Network Card is "Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Adapter" Already tried the one from Lnx2Mac and different that I found from hackintoshosx, but nothing seems to work. What could be the issue? Thanks in advance!
19. It is strange but I found no such driver in the forum so I upload it here. It works in 10.7 if manually set 100Mps and FullDuplex in Network Preferences. I also set DNS manually. AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext.zip
20. Hi ! I've got a strange problem with my PCGenRTL8139Ethernet.kext : I have an Asus p5gc-mx/1333 and a PCI Ethernet NIC with RTL8139 chipset running 10.9.3. Everything was fine until yesterday. For some unknown reason, the ethernet connection stoppped working. I tried to boot -f or - x or -x -f -v, UseKernelCache=Yes/No, USBBusFix=Yes/No, PCIRoot=0 etc. but still no connection anymore. I re-installed the kext, rebuild cache & permissions, no way. I deleted NetworkInterface.plist then re-installed the kext once again. After severeal attemps, I got my connection back and everything was OK until… next reboot. I started over with random success (sometimes it boots fine and the interface is recognized when I use bootflag -v). But everytime I reboot, I m' not sure the connection will be back. I'm sure the NIC works fine as I have no issue on Windows 8.1. In verbose mode, I've noticed that message : "ethernet cannot wake assert from d3cold" when things goes wrong. When the connection is OK, I see PCGenRTL8139 disable flow control (something like that, can't remember the exact message ;-( I made no change in my setup except the change of my Radeon HD 5450 by a Radeon HD 6570 and when I updated tfrom 10.9.2 to 10.9.3, everything was OK so I really don't know why I suddendly have this problem now. Any help please ? Thanks ! [sOLVED] My Asus P5GC-MX/1333 has a known bug with the bottom PCI Slot where my LAN Adapter was attached. Just moved it to the upper one and my card is now recognized. But a mystery remains : the bottom PCI SLot was previously filled with my Lan Adapter and the upper one was with a Firewire Adapter and this setup was working. When I recently removed the Firewire adapter and left the Lan card on the bottom slot, problems started to occurs. Now my Firewire adapter fills the bottom slot and it's not recognized. This is a minor issue for me but that's a strage behavior…
21. Hi everybody. My Hackintosh builded on ASUS P7P55D-E EVO Motherboard with Realtek 8112L ethernet. I use Lnx2Mac's Realtek RTL81xx kext for it. Now I have Mavericks installed with Clover bootloader and have problems with my local network. I have home server with Windows 7 on it and every day copying files from it through local network to my Hackintosh. Copying files successful with 50% chance. Sometimes it send me error -51, sometimes error -8084. No problems with internet. At least I didn't catch any. Before I have Mountain Lion installed with Chameleon with same kext for ethernet and have no problems at all. Any ideas?
22. Hello Everyone Just finished building my first Hackintosh, so I'm very happy at the moment. I just have a few issues that I'm hoping this awesome community can help me resolve. The specs for this hackintosh are the left-side specs in my sig. I seem to be having some issues with the ethernet. I tried all 4 of the Networking drivers in the Multi_Beast installer, but so far no luck. In System Preferences->Network it says that the ethernet is connected, however I'm not able to access any of my Windows shares (smb). I can't connect to the internet either. My router is connected to the ethernet network and I don't have any issues on my Windows PCs (Router Model: D-Link DSL-2750U) but I'm not able to access the internet that way on my Hackintosh. Right now I'm forced to tether my phone in order to access the internet. I do hope you can help me and many thanks in advance. P.S. I did use assist me and here is some screenshots of it, hope it helps.: I clicked Diagnostics first: http://gyazo.com/eac76ee54af4a093cac04a2493a3093d http://gyazo.com/32307b0c73de7dc29eaf84d97fdb44a3 http://gyazo.com/7b6eb071c72bcd6c4df27537e45f3198 http://gyazo.com/9ca169aca239c84b3eb49a1848f722e8 And then Assistant: http://gyazo.com/89c9b6c116c703f87a436e596bc50c99 http://gyazo.com/3cdb6dbd6f1b39a8c14abe51453d7769 http://gyazo.com/89f2e0b3e133243901a34a4ab79f0137 http://gyazo.com/d715faf719f2c865ac7483f9d537ef99
23. Hi there I am wanting some help with setting up my home network. My neighbour and I are sharing the internet connection from the router in his house (as I cannot get phone lines down my driveway for the next 6 months). My plan is to set the antenna up near the top of my house as that is where I can pickup the signal, however I want that signal to then get to my mac which is in the lounge. I currently have CAT5e cable in the wall that I thought I could use but when I connected my AWSU036h with a RJ45 adaptor I found that this didn't work. So my question is: Is there an easy way to connect from the ALFA AWSU036h to my computer in the lounge? Or would there be an easier way than feeding a 20+m USB cable through the walls and roof cavity? Here is a picture of what I am trying to achieve with my actual house plan.
24. Hi all, I installed successful ML 10.8.3 on my laptop, but Lan is not working. I've tried jmc250.kext here: http://www.osx86.net/view/3053-j_micron_jmc250_ethernet.html , Ethernet card has detected but it cannot get "MAC ADDRESS" (mac addess is ff:ff:ff:ff). Please help me
25. Greetings, As my Belkin FD5001 finally gave up the ghost after 5 years of mackintosh's I decided to replace the wireless card with a low-cost (evidently high-head ache) model. I'd seen good results of several ATHEROS chipset wireless adapters to I acquired a TP-Link WN851. I though I was getting an '-n' model but ended up with a '-ND'. The difference is actually the chipset. While I've tried about every AR chipset kext on OSX86.net, I've found nothing to work for me yet. I've tried different combinations of IO8211 and IONetworkingFamily and can't even remember what was original now. I've fumbled through changing deviceIDs in various places as well nothing seems to work. Can anyone suggest a good guide to methodically isolating possible problems or can point me to a thread I might not have read that might get me back on the wireless high-road? Much appreciated. Here's a screenshot of where I am currently.. 10.7.3 Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR (DSDT from Kakewalk 4.1.1) TP-Link WN851ND
