1. Hi, I heard that the nVidia GT650m works natively in Mountain Lion (thanks to the new 15" MBP (retina and non retina)) but I didn't manage to make it work. Here is what i see in the device manager (I don't know exactly if it's called like that, I installed the French version) : NVIDIA Chip Model : Jeu de composants: NVIDIA Chip Model Type: Processeur graphique (GPU) Bus: PCIe Longueur de la voie PCIe: x16 VRAM (totale): 0 Mo Fournisseur: NVIDIA (0x10de) Identifiant du périphérique: 0x0fd1 Identifiant de révision: 0x00a2 Révision de la ROM: preset 1.0.0 I have to boot with -x because It would freeze after NVDAGK100Hal loaded and registered It hanged if I didn't put GraphicsEnabler=no (couldn't patch ROM blablabla nVidia 0mb or something like that) but I fixed it by using MacBookPro 9,1 smbios. I'm using a Ivy Bridge based laptop. Here are the specs : http://www.materiel.net/ordinateur-portable/dell-inspiron-17r-se-7720-80006.html I'm sorry for non-French speaking users but it's easy to understand the specs... I also installed the lastest version of chimera (1.11.1) for the HD 4000 but It won't work either (same thing freeze even if i delete the nVidia related kext) By the way, I don't understand why there isn't any topic about the 650m, which is very common in the new MBP (There is a GTX680 Thread, why not 650m ?) Thank you in advance ! ThibaultAnd
2. Hi to all ! First MANY MANY THX for what you are all doing ! you prevent us from spending $$$€€€€€ to have a decent gear for working in an independant way ! That's soooooo nice ! I have a little problem, and maybe my brain is off…but I can't manage having open CL with my brand new set up… I have bought on ebay @ macgraphicfan 1x GT120 for display and 1xGT670 4GB for GPU…mostly for Cuda but as OS and many other softs don't use CUDA I would like to have open CL… I've done the VERY VERY CLEAR step by step on tonymac…But I'can't have it working… I had the bad idea to go by Apple drivers instead of Nvidia…VERY VERY Bad idea…get stucked on grey screen boot…but as I got file secured… I could replace the mod ones buy the old one with the help of som macbook air' friend in target mode… SO now i can use my mac pro 3.1 … But !!!!! I can't manage to get my beloved open CL…what Am I missing ? ##### 5.4.1 fails on putting Off the graphics enabler… Mac pro 3.1 10.8.4 Galaxy GTX 670 4GB Flashed for Mac with 2 big fans on top GT120 Damaged strange line of pixel when arrived on desktop (I'm waiting from my new one) Flashed for Mac See my pics https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mjv0thg8quemsa7/fQl1wl88eV Sorry if post seems double…but I searched, I read… and didn't found…
3. I am attempting to get my fresh install of 10.8.3 with two GTX 660 Ti's up and running. It boot just fine with a single card, but instantly restarts after selecting the partition to boot from in Chameleon (2187). DSDT=No, npci=0x3000, GraphicsEnabler=Yes have been tried so far. This is my new system and is not in my sig. It is: P9X79 WS i7-3930K 2x GTX 660 Ti 2GB My default org.Chameleon.Boot.plist with which I can boot a single GTX 660 Ti is below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com...yList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>npci=0x2000 busratio=43</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>3</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>No</string> </dict> </plist> Will try newer version of Chameleon, Chimera, and Clover next. My guess is that just like with most dual Nvidia systems I need some way to set parent/child and that information is not being auto-detected by the OS. Since the the usual injection via GE=Yes or DSDT result in a white screen at boot I am assuming that I cannot set this information via DSDT. Has anyone gotten one of these systems working yet? P.S. I have the same problems with two GT 610's, but not with a GT 610+GTX 650. Presumably since one is Kepler and the other is not there is no problem?

5. So I have a Lenovo Idepad Y510p Sli with Dual Nvidia GeForce 755m cards (One NVidia card can be removed as it sits in the ultrabay slot) The unique thing about this laptop is that when both Nvidia cards are in, the bios disables Optimus, that is if i load windows/linux/maverick there is no trace of the HD4600 integrated card. It only shows two cards in pci express slots, one as a video adapter card and the other one as a video accelerator card. If i take the ultrabay Nvidia card out, and turn on the computer, the computer flashes for a second reboots itself within 3 secs(almost like if it was loading a different bios). If i then boot into windows then Optimus is enable and I can see the HD4600 card. Thus the internal NVidia card must be connected directly to the LCD correct? otherwise it wouldn't be able to display anything. I remember that when I had my Asus N56VZ(Nvidia 650m?) laptop with optimus, and was able to disable it using a modded bios. If i tried to load Windows or OSX i would get a black screen(nothing on the lcd just hdmi output.) But this is not the case here. Do you guys think there is a chance to get this card working? Or am i beating a dead horse here. Anyway i can confirm that the lvds is connected to the Nvidia card? I can provide my ioreg, and DSDT's, and AIDA64 reports if necessary. I should also mention that I took DSDT's and SDDT's when the laptop is in Optimus Mode and when it is in Discrete Mode. Both DSDT's are almost exactly the same they only differ on certain OperationRegions, however when looking at SSDT0 in Optimus Mode it shows the NVidia Card and the Integrated Graphics card, when looking at the SSDT0 for Discrete mode there is no mention of the integrated card and it just shows both NVidia cards.
6. Hi, I'm trying to get an NVidia K3000m Kepler/gk104 graphics card working in a Dell Precision M6700. After installing the 10.8.2 update for later 2012 macs, the NVDAStartup.kext seems to get the GPU recognised... and it detects that it has 4 display ports, but the displays aren't initialised.. This is the same as trying to get the HD4000 going too. The driver sees the IGPU, but doesn't initialise the displays.. but anyway, the K3000M is the important one. Optimus is disabled in the BIOS... I've included the text ioreg dump with the NVidia driver half loaded.. If anyones interested in taking a look. I'd be happy to try out DSDT edits if anyone has suggestions.. I suspect it's a question of injecting the right values.. or waiting for a new driver.. Thanks. PS. I also posted a question about this here: http://www.insanelym...w/#entry1877698 Which has a bit more info about what I've tried. M6700-K3000M-IOReg.txt.gz
