  1. Hello there I installed hachkintosh 10.8.2 ML on my samsung laptop. NP550P5C its ivy bridge, i have Nvidia GT650M and Intel HD 4000 all im trying is to get my HD 4000 working. I searched a lottt and read many guides and even saw afew successfull installation on same model of samsung laptop. (however they are not same in specs) Unfortunately I was not able to make it working, two times i got scrambled and noisy screen and mouse and keyboard disabled entierly! one time i got black screen, and so... Actually i alittle confused , because there are many different suggestions out there and im not sure which one is the best. for example some say to put EFI string in deviceproperties , some say to change DSDT, some say to put some strange key and value in boot plist ,...... I really appreciate if someone can help me alittle. maybe its helpful for others too as i think i mixed different approaches. Here is my situation : After installing and reboot, i had to remove Gforce..kext and all nvidia kext files and also all HD3000*.kext and HD400*.kext files to prevent my mac freezing. Now, here is my questions : 1-Which kext files are exactly required to get my HD4000 working? do i need to copy HD4000*.kext back? and what about framebuffer capri ? do i need to put original files back and try to make it working by putting different EFI strings? 2-how many different approaches exists for this problem? 3-I tried to use this driver http://www.osx86.net/view/3757-%5Bnew%5D_intel_hd_3000__hd_4000_10.8.3_ml_driver.html but it made my keyboard and mouse freezing 4-How can i make a correct EFI string without using the ready ones i can found on internet? And my real question : 5-At the moment, i canboot my mac in normal mode and i dont have HD4000*.kext files installed. whats the next steps to enable my graphic? I greately appreciate if someone can help me to solve this problem. let me know if have to provide more information. Thanks alot

  3. Hey everyone! First post here. I've been following this website for quite some time now, only joined recently. I am a fairly experienced Hackintosh user, but this time I've seem to have run into an unusual problem. I am trying to get Mavericks 10.9.1 to install. (that is the version I downloaded on my real Mac, and that is what I use to create the installer). Intel HD4000 Graphics does not seem to work at all. I've tried tons of stuff, but I can't get it to work. When I remove AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri, it does boot with additional flags, but I have no acceleration. When I put it back, it refuses to boot, getting stuck at [iOBluetoothHCIController] -- Connected to transport successfully -- I think, it finishes booting, but cannot load graphics, so cannot display anything. But that's just my guess. I'll walk you through all the steps that I took, along with everything that I have tried so far, without results 1. Created installer disk manually, and also tried using MacPwn By Niresh. 2. Applied MBR Patch, for dual booting with Windows. 3. Could get to the installer without using any boot flags. 4. Installed OS X on an MBR partition. 5. After installation, I cannot get to the OS directly, I enter Safe Mode using flags: -v -x GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=No , and finish the setup successfully. 6. I install FakeSMC, NullCPUPowerManagement (to avoid a KP that occurs if I don't), Ethernet, Audio drivers etc. 7. I apply a MacBookPro 9,1 SMBIOS. So far, I haven't touched graphics at all. 7. I try to boot into OS X, fail. When I try to reboot into safe mode, everything is working except graphics. Now, I have been told that Intel HD Graphics works out of the box with Mavericks, but in my case, it just doesn't. I've tried using a DSDT (which I don't know much about), but that didn't make a difference, so I removed it. My ig-platform-id is 0x01660009, as told by 'About This Mac'. I've tried manually injecting this ID, along with others, using the Chameleon boot flags, and also by adding it to com.chameleon.boot.plist I've tried patching my AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri.kext in 2 ways: 1. I opened the AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri executable in /S/L/E/AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri.kext/Contents/MacOS using HexFiend, and changed the hex values. I used this guide: OSXLatitude. This was a total disaster, all I got was a black screen, and I didn't really understand what I was doing, so it made me uncomfortable. The next one was much more promising. 2. I opened the Info.plist inside AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri and added my platform-id in IOPCIPrimaryMatch, and injected 0x01660009 using Chameleon. With some luck, I was able to boot into the installation without safe mode. But graphics were laggy, of course, because of no acceleration. I also tried removing all AppleIntel* , ATI* , And GeForce* Kexts from the /S/L/E/ folder, and that allowed me to boot, but again, no acceleration, which is kind of obvious, because I removed all kexts. Also, in 'About this Mac', it shows me that I have Intel HD 4000 Graphics with 64Mb sometimes, and when I remove all the above kexts, it shows me Display 5Mb (No surprise there). I also rebuild my cache etc. using KextUtility every time I make changes to the /S/L/E folder. For now, I have UseKernelCache=No to avoid any problems. If Graphics works, I'll add it to com.chameleon.boot.plist I read somewhere that I needed to disable VT-d to make it work, but I checked and my processor does not support it, so that's not an issue. So, ultimately, I am stuck now because everything works except Graphics, and I can't really use it without QE/CI because of the flashing lines. Can anyone please help me out here? I've been at it for days now, and I can't seem to find any solution anywhere that works for me. I was also thinking of downgrading to something like ML, Lion or even SL (sigh), if graphics works, and then upgrade from there? I haven't tried it though. I'm so desperate right now, I can try anything My laptop configuration: Intel Core i7-3630QM @ 2.4GHz (Ivy Bridge) Intel HD 4000 Graphics Nvidia GT 650M w/ 2GB VRAM 16GB DDR3 RAM Can't really provide motherboard information, as it is a custom one by Samsung. My laptop is the Samsung NP550P5C-S05IN. Please ask for more info if required Thanks a lot for any help that you can offer! P.S. I'm re-installing vanilla OS X right now, so whatever fixes you guys tell me do not conflict with stuff I've already tried. You can assume I have a clean installation.
  4. Hey guys, I'm new and could use a little help. I used rehabman's guide to install Yosemite on uefi using clover. I have an asus s400ca which has an Intel i5 along with Intel hd 4000 graphics. Every time I boot into OSX, I get horrible screen tearing. I am using a config.plist I found from http://d-h.st/0YV. I'm thinking maybe I should use clover configurator instead? When I get home I'll update with the kexts and drivers I'm using currently. On a side note here's what's correctly working/not working: No wifi (card not supported) Ethernet works Intel hd 4000, graphics acceleration works BUT terrible terrible screen tearing. Can't see anything. No sound. Brightness not working. I think numlock is on permanently now for whatever reason. Randomly crashes sometimes but I have no idea what happens since I can't see the screen :0 Probably other stuff but one thing at a time ;P Thanks, ZRC007
  5. Hi all, I tried to install Mavericks on my laptop. Everything works fine except 3D acceleration. I install my laptop according to the following installation guide, because my laptop has the same configuration: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293109-guide-dell-l421x-xps-14-late-2012-os-x-mavericks-109-installation/ If I install 10.9.0 everything fine. But if I install 10.9.5 there is no 3D acceleration. Do I need to patch the newer kexts? (AppleGraphicsPowerManger, AppleIntelFramebufferCapri) I use both installation the kexts from the XPS 14 install guide. I hope somebody can tell me a good start point how I can solve this issue.
  6. My situation is really strange. I installed Windows 8.1 and Mavericks in one hard disk drive with three partitions, one for each operating system and one just for storage purpose. Since my wireless network card (BCM943142HM) is not usable in OS X, I bought a USB Wifi Adapter (TP-LINK TL-WN725N) so that I could access internet. But when I use a lot of internet bandwidth (downloading torrents) the computer freezes completely. So I decided to work heavy internet use in Windows and just specific tasks on OS X. I’ve been using my computer in this way for almost 8 months without any additional issues. But recently I found somewhere that in order to stop the random freezes caused by the high internet’s bandwidth use, I had to disable Spotlight. So I did it, but the freezes continued. However I noticed that I could use the computer for a longer period of time before it froze again. So here is the problem. Yesterday, after some of this freezes I restarted the computer and now it beeps 8 times while booting indicating a display problem according to Dell, and the display shows up like this while booting and in Windows: But inside OS X the screen turns off. When I perform the display test according to Dell (holding down the D key and then pressing the Power button to turn on the computer) it shows solid colours indicating that the display panel is working correctly. Right now I’m using an external monitor connected to the HDMI port which is working correctly in both operating systems. Inside OS X it’s like there is no display panel connected to the graphics adapter, and in Windows it detects the display panel as a generic monitor. I’m really concerned about this. I know this is not a common problem, so I would appreciate any help!

    Missing Bluetooth Error

Hi guys! I seem to have encountered a problem with Chimera after updating Mavericks to 10.9.4. It gets stuck on Missing Bluetooth Controller (also shows "DSMOS has arrived" before that, so I think it's some sort of graphics problem). However, I can still boot into safe mode, but when I ran kextstat in terminal, the AppleIntelHDGraphics4000.kext hasn't loaded. Only Capri has. However, when I used Clover using UEFI boot, the problem fixes itself. However, I have an MBR partition (since I already have Windows 7 installed) so I cannot create an EFI sector for Clover. Instead, I currently use my USB to use the Clover boot loader. Is there a way to fix Chimera? Thanks guys. I am using Intel HD Graphics 4000 as my default graphics, with iGPU set as default with 32 MB in the UEFI.
