1. Sadly i got banned on tonymacx86.com for the mentioning of "Pandoras Box" in this tutorial (reason: "Blatant Disregard of Forum Policies on Piracy"). Thats why i post and update it here Dell XPS 15 (9550, Version of 2016) Sierra 10.13.1 Tutorial Please use the GITHUB version of this text, because this tutorial got too fragmented for a simple forum thread - thanks to the latest Dell Firmware 1.2.25 which requires multiple different versions and tutorials and made the installation of OSX much harder for newbies Before we start: this installation includes real time DSDT/SSDT patching from within clover. This is pretty easy to install. But it is NOT suited for people with no or only few knowledge in Hackintosh Systems. If you only know how to copy commands in your shell and you dont know what they're doing, then stop the tutorial and revert to windows or buy a real mac. Even if you get it running: this system is not failsafe and will be broken multiple times in its usage time, where you have to fix it without a tutorial. Optional steps are marked in GREEN, System dependent steps are BLUE English is not my mother-tongue and i'm writing this without proof reading, so please forgive my bad spelling If you've questions or something doesn't work: first check if you've done all steps of this tutorial! If yes: please read the whole thread (doesn't matter how long it is) before asking to prevent multiple questions. Additionally do a search in google and this forum. Credits: Many knowledge of "how to hackintosh a dell in the first place" by the tutorial of @Gymnae http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/319766-dell-xps-9550-detailled-1011-guide/ Using many kexts and solutions from @RehabMan What's not working: Hibernation (works somehow, but high chance to destroy your whole data), Sleep works fine! SD-Card reader Killer 1535 Wifi (rarely used, need replace) nVidia Graphics card (Intel works) FileVault 2 (full HDD encryption) Requirements: one working MAC OS X Enviroment 16GB USB Stick (larger is sometimes not bootable and/or requires advanced partitioning) MacOS High Sierra 10.13.1 installation file from the app store (redownload, just in case) Knowledge in PLIST editing USB Harddrive for backup - you'll loose all data on your computer! Step 1: Prepare Installation Use the existing Mac to download the Sierra installer from the App Store and create a bootable USB stick with CLOVER. You can do this with the App "Pandora's Box" of insanelymac (use google for download link), which is pretty easy to use. Optional: check if your SSD can be switched to 4k sector size. This prevents NVMe corruption. See https://github.com/wmchris/DellXPS15-9550-OSX/blob/10.13/4k_sector.md After you've finished you need to download the Dell XPS 15 specific configurations for clover. Link: https://github.com/wmchris/DellXPS15-9550-OSX/archive/10.13.zip and unzip this file or checkout git directly: git clone https://github.com/wmchris/DellXPS15-9550-OSX.git You only need the folder 10.13, you can delete the 10.11. I'll refer to this folder by "git/" Now mount the hidden EFI partition of the USB Stick by entering diskutil mount EFI Inside the terminal. Mac OS will automaticly mount the EFI partition of the USB stick, but just in case: make sure it really is Overwrite everything in the CLOVER folder of the partition EFI with the content of git/10.13/CLOVER. If your PC has a Core i5 processor, you'll have to modify your config.plist in EFI/EFI/CLOVER/: search for the Key ig-platform-id: 0x191b0000 and replace it with 0x19160000. If you could use the 4k sector patch, replace the config.plist with the 4kconfig.plist. If you use a hynix device and you didnt do the 4k sector switch, you'll have to add the following patch to your config.plist <key>Comment</key> <string>IONVMeFamily Pike R. Alpha Hynix SSD patch</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data>9sEQD4UcAQAA</data> <key>Name</key> <string>IONVMeFamily</string> <key>Replace</key> <data>9sECD4UcAQAA</data> Go into the EFI Configuration (BIOS) of your Dell XPS 15: Also disable the SD-Card Reader to reduce the power consumption drastically. Insert the stick on the Dell XPS 15 and boot it up holding the F12 key to get in the boot-menu and start by selecting your USB-Stick (if you've done it correctly it's named "Clover: Install macOS Sierra", otherwise it's just the brandname of your USB-Drive). You should get to the MacOS Installation like on a real mac. If you're asked to log-in with your apple-id: select not now! Reason: see Step 5. Step 2: Partition and Installation INFORMATION: after this step your computer will loose ALL data! So if you haven't created a backup, yet: QUIT NOW! Dont install macOS yet. Select the Diskutil and delete the old partitions. Create a new HFS partition and name it "OSX". If you want to multiboot with Windows 10, then you'll have to create a second partition, too (also HFS! Dont use FAT or it will not boot! You have to reformat it when installing Windows). Make sure to select GUID as partition sheme. Close the Diskutil and install OSX normally. You'll have to reboot multiple times, make sure to always boot using the attached USB stick. So dont forget to press F12. After the first reboot you should see a new boot option inside clover, which is highlighted by default. Just press enter. If you only see one, then something went wrong. Step 3: Make it bootable After a few reboots you should be inside your new macOS enviroment. You can always boot into it using the USB stick. Remove the USB drive after successful bootup. Enter diskutil mount EFI in your terminal, which should mount the EFI partition of your local installation. install git/Additional/Tools/Clover_v2.4k_r4003.pkg. Make sure to select "Install Clover in ESP". Also select to install the RC-Scripts. This should install the Clover Boot System. Now copy everything from git/10.13/CLOVER to EFI/CLOVER like you did before by creating the usb stick. (if you had to modify the config.plist in step 1, do it here, too). Your system should be bootable by itself. Reboot and check if your system can boot by itself. Step 4: Post Installation Because all DSDT/SSDT changes are already in the config.plist, you dont need to recompile your DSDT (albeit i suggest doing it anyway to make your system a lil bit more failsafe, see gymnaes El-Capitan tutorial for more informations). So we can skip this part and go directly to the installation of the required kexts. Open a terminal and goto the GIT folder. sudo cp -r ./Post-Install/LE-Kexts/* /Library/Extensions/ sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPS2Nub.bak 2> /dev/null sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.bak 2> /dev/null sudo ./AD-Kexts/VoodooPS2Daemon/_install.command Now you'll have to replace the config.plist. Because you'll install modified kexts you'll HAVE TO replace the config.plist in your installation. Otherwise your PC will not boot anymore. diskutil mount EFI replace EFI/CLOVER/config.plist with git/Post-Install/CLOVER/config.plist. Again: if your PC has a Core i5 processor, search the config.plist for the Key ig-platform-id: 0x191b0000 and replace it with 0x19160000. OPTIONAL (in case you've audio problems): AppleHDA has some problems after Wake-Up. You'll have to plug in a headphone to get your speakers working again. You can use VoodooHDA instead, which breaks the headphone jack most of the time, but makes the rest much more stable. sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/CodecCommander.kext sudo rm /EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/SSDT-ALC298.aml then remove from your config.plist from the key "KextsToPatch" the elements "AppleHDA#1" to "AppleHDA#7". Install the package: git/Post-Install/AD-Kexts/VoodooHDA-2.8.8.pkg i also suggest moving some of the kext from EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.13 to /Library/Extensions. It's just more stable. Finalize the kext-copy by recreating the kernel cache: sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache sudo rm -rf /System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u / sometimes you'll have to redo the last command if your system shows "Lock acquired". OSX 10.12.2 removed the posibility to load unsigned code. You can enable this by entering sudo spctl --master-disable If you're using the 4K monitor, you'll have to copy the UHD enabling kexts to your clover directory: sudo cp ./Post-Install/AD-Kexts/UHD-Kexts/* /EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.13/ To enable GPU acceleration: Edit your clover config file again and remove the following block from it: To prevent getting in hibernation (which can and will corrupt your data), just set the default sleep mode to "suspend to ram" (sleep) instead of "suspend to disk" (hibernation) sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 To get HDMI Audio working: Search for your Boarrd-ID in the config.plist and open /S/E/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/contents/plugin/AppleGraphicePolicy.kext/contents/info.plist with a texteditor. Search for your board-id in there and change the value of it from "Config2" to "none" OPTIONAL (alternative power management): the whole power management is done by intels speed step technology (HWP), which is enabled in the clover config. If you want to let OSX manage the power management, you'll have to do these steps: sudo cp ./Post-Install/CLOVER/ACPI/optional/SSDT.aml /EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/ then open the config.plist (/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist) and change <key>HWPEnable</key><true/> to <key>HWPEnable</key><false/>. Step 5: iServices (AppStore, iMessages etc.) WARNING! DONT USE YOUR MAIN APPLE ACCOUNT FOR TESTING! It's pretty common that apple BANS your apple-id from iMessage and other services if you've logged in on not well configured hackintoshs! If you want to use the iServices, you'll have to do some advanced steps, which are not completly explained in this tutorial. First you need to switch the faked network device already created by step 4 to be on en0. Goto your network settings and remove every network interface. sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist Reboot, go back in the network configuration and add the network interfaces (LAN) before Wifi. You also need to modify your SMBIOS in the config.plist of Clover in your EFI partition with valid informations about your "fake" mac. There are multiple tutorials which explain how to do it like "http://www.fitzweekly.com/2016/02/hackintosh-imessage-tutorial.html". It's possible you have to call the apple hotline to get your fake serial whitelisted by telling a good story why apple forgot to add your serial number in their system. (aka: dont do it if you dont own a real mac). I personally suggest using real data from an old (broken) macbook. Step 6: Upgrading to macOS 10.13.2 or higher / installing security updates Each upgrade will possibly break your system! (Update: after the latest updates in this tutorial the system should be update-proof.) Step 7: Fixes / Enhancements / Alternative Solutions / Bugs See: https://github.com/wmchris/DellXPS15-9550-OSX/blob/10.13/Tutorial_10.13_Step7.md Afterword and fixes as i said before: this is not a tutorial for absolute beginners, albeit it's much easier then most other tutorials, because most is preconfigured in the supplied config.plist. Some Dells have components included, which are not supported by these preconfigured files. Then i can only suggest using Gymnaes tutorial which explains most of the DSDT patching, config.plist editing and kexts used in detail and use the supplied files here as templates. Warning: Some people have reported multiple data losses on this machine. I suggest using time-machine whenever possible! If your device is detected as "Model Name: Apple Device", see: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/319764-guide-dell-xps-15-9550-sierra-10122-quick-installation/page-13?do=findComment&comment=2362337 If you want to save the settings of the display brightness: downgrade to clover 3899, in the never versions the nvram restore is broken. USBInjectAll is not intended for permanent use. You should check which USB are really required to be injected and modify your DSDT/SSDT. 4K Touchscreen only: Multitouch can be achieved with the driver from touch-base.com, but it's not open source - costs > 100 $ Not a bug: if you REALLY want to use the 4K Display natively and disable the Retina Mode (max 1920x1080), see: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/macbook-pro-retina-display-faq/macbook-pro-retina-display-hack-to-run-native-resolution.html Tutorial Updates 27. March 2017: UHD Kexts added, replaces perl command 23. March 2017: 4k sector tutorial against NVMe corruption added 7. March 2017: Suggestion to disable the SD Card Reader for reduced power consumption 4. February 2017: Dell SMBIOS Truncation workaround added 23. January 2017: Hynix SSD fix added 31. December 2016: USB-C Hotplug Fix and USB InjectAll Removed 28. December 2016: NVMe SSDT Spoof precreated, FakeID already preset in installation config.plist. VoodooHDA added as alternative to SSDT-ALC298 patch as well as color coding in tutorial 22. December 2016: FakeSMBios added Accessories Appendix: The official Dell adaptor DA200 (http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=at&l=de&s=dhs&cs=atdhs1&sku=470-abry) works completly on Sierra 10.2.2. You can use the Network, USB, HDMI and VGA. Everything is Hot-Pluggable a cheap 3rd party noname USB-C -> VGA adaptor didnt work you can charge the Dell with a generic USB-C Power Adaptor, but USB-C has only a maximum power of 100W, so it's either charging OR usage, not both. Dont forget you need a special USB-C cable (Power Delivery 3.0) for charging.

Hello there, i need help!

Hello there, i'm Andrea, a new member. I got this problem and i hope to get some help from people who know better than me. I currently work on a Mac Pro, late 2014, the black cylinder, and I'm moving to a hackintosh by september. I do have a time machine backup, and first question is, can i start my new hackintosh from a backup? Moreover, i use my mac in a studio, we produce music, and we bought all plugins and libraries, so nothing crack'd, will the new mackintosh requires all the activation codes? I will be installing Yosemite on the hackintosh, is it the right choice? i've never had any problems on my original mac with this OS. Will I have some drivers problems, having a firewire external audio device, a midi keyboard, and 2 HD i use for backup and libraries storing? The main question, basically, is: will this hackintosh be as my mac, if we talk about iOS and compatibility? i'll list my new pc here to help you all give me a hand: - Motherboard Asus Z97-A - Intel i7-4790K - Dissipatore Noctua NH-U12S - Grafica integrata intel HD 4600 (3 monitor fino a 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz —> 2K) - 2x schede FireWire (ognuna con 1 da 400 e 2 da 800) - RAM Kingston Hypk 4x8GB Hyper X Savage [HX324C11SRK4/32] - 2400 MHz - SSD Samsung MZ-75E500B/EU 850 EVO, 500G B, 2.5" SATA III - WiFi Airport Extreme TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 - Chassis Corsair (CC-9011076-WW) case mid tower ATX insonorizzato Carbide 330R Blackout Edition nero - 2x Startech.Com Adattatore Universale per Staffa di Montaggio Disco Rigido 3.5'' per Alloggiamento 5.25’’ - Corsair RM650 CP-9020054-EU Alimentatore ATX/EPS Serie RM da 650 Watt, Completamente Modulare con Certificazione 80 Plus Gold

4. Toshiba Satellite L755 1j2 Hackintosh Download This file. It contains the zip file with everything you need for the installation. • A Toshiba Satellite L755 1j2– This is necessary to install macOS Sierra for this tutorial • A copy of Mac OS X – This can be in the form of an existing hackintosh, a virtual machine within Windows or Linux, or even a regular Mac. If you don’t have any of these things, then find someone who can help you out for a while. I prefer using a hackintosh with OSX El Capitan, Using an already working copy of Mac OS X either in a VM or a native hackintosh install is HIGHLY recommended. • A 8GB USB flash drive (or larger) – We’ll be copying the files to the drive appropriately, so make sure that you have a flash drive with enough storage space (8GB or larger). You’ve successfully installed macOS Sierra onto your Toshiba Satellite L755 1j2. 17. iMessage & FaceTime Fix You will need MLB and Rom numbers from a legit Mac device that is on the mac server. Run iMessage debug on a iMac, Macbook, etc and make a copy and paste of the Terminal output. • Open Clover Configurator. • Mount EFI Partition. • Import config.plist from EFI/EFI/Clover (File , import configuration, browse to config.plist and select). • In Clover Configurator Click on RT Variables, Enter Rom and MLB Values from iMessage output from valid iMac device. • Save changes to config.plist. • Reboot, Sign into iMessage. iMessage and FaceTime should now both be working. 18. BOOT 0 Error If you are using a 4k HDD you can get boot:0 error, to solve this issue do the following. • Reboot system back into Sierra installer (USB)FLASH DRIVE). • Run Disk Utility find the Disk Identifier (eg. disk0s2). • Unmount the drive you installed Sierra on. • Launch Terminal and execute the following command: • dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2. • Exit Terminal. • Boot Normally.
Boot.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Credits</key> <string>Niresh12495</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>"1920x1080x32"</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-f npci=0x2000 dart=0</string> <key>KeyLayout</key> <string>mac-fr</string> <key>QuietBoot</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>DType</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>3</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>y</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> Et voilà
6. I have an ASUS GTX 750 Ti PH Series 2GB DDR5 (ASUS GTX750TI-PH-2GD5) with VBIOS 82.07.25.00.13 (or VBIOS 82.07.25.AS11). I have tried this card out on both Yosemite 10.10 and 10.10.1 with NVIDIA Web Drivers 343.01.01f01 through f03 and 343.02.01f01. I have 1xHDMI port, 2xDVI-D Dual Link and 1xVGA ports on the card. I have 1xHDMI and 1xVGA ports on my monitor Dell S2440L. The card is installed correctly and is detected in System Report > Graphics/Displays and even in NVIDIA Driver Manager's ECC tab (of course, ECC not supported though). While I have all ports functional in Windows and for my gaming needs, I'm not able to get any port to work with Yosemite. I get a blank screen with a 'No Signal' message on the HDMI and both the DVI ports with Yosemite, after the Apple logo boot screen or after NVIDIA Drivers have been loaded in verbose boot. I have tried 3 different HDMI cables and even a DVI2HDMI adapter. Apparently, VGA works on this card for a lot of people but I haven't been able to try it out. I have tried PCIRootUID=1 as one of the bootflags, as suggested in other solved threads in this forum for the ASUS GTX 750 Ti, but I get the same result. (i.e. No Signal). I have tried PCIRootUID=0, GraphisEnabler=No/Yes and all other sorts of boot flag permutations and combinations but NOTHING. My hackintosh works fine with the on-board Intel HD 4600 (1536MB VRAM) graphics (Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H, supported as per the HCL). From my extensive discussions on other forums, I have gathered that this problem is not faced by cards sold by other vendors such as Palit, Gigabyte, EVGA, MSI - if any problems have been faced by these cards, they have been solved/fixed. The problem is mainly limited to ASUS cards, the ASUS Strix OC card with VBIOS 82.07.32.00.xx being the only exception which has even the HDMI port working. toleda analysed a bunch of IOREGs for us folks stuck with non-functioning GTX 750 Ti cards and he's ruled out any issue with the NVCAP or the framebuffers. The problem seems to be only with the ASUS VBIOS for every ASUS card except the ASUS Strix OC. Some people who have flashed the ASUS Strix OC VBIOS on their non-functioning cards have reported success in getting all the ports working. I personally am skeptical since the cards that have been experimented with as well as the ASUS Strix OC are bigger cards with two fans, while mine is smaller card with a single fan. I'm not sure if it'll be safe to flash my card with the ASUS Strix OC VBIOS because it obviously has a very different component layout/structure. I'm really at my wit's end and I would appreciate any inputs whatsoever. I'm attaching my card's VBIOS in case somebody can disassemble/analyse it to figure out exactly what is different between that VBIOS and the one on the ASUS Strix OC 750 Ti which can be found here. I have also attached my IOREG, NVCAP screenshots and a GPU-Z screenshot comparison of my card to an NVIDIA Reference 750 Ti. Can't the NVIDIA kexts be somehow edited to help recognise the non-functioning ports on these problematic ASUS cards & their baffling VBIOS? If you require me to provide any more information pertaining to my case, ask away; I'll upload ASAP. Any insight is appreciated? Help me solve this puzzle.

8. No hokus pokus - No magic I am basically making this more current and simplifying it for people with HP Z800 wanting to run Sierra. With a bit more detail on the BIOS settings All credit really goes to: chatdeau, Rockey12 and ZoroZZ for helping out and creating the first topic on the HP Z series found here I am not sure who to credit for the kexts but a big THANK YOU to whoever you are! The HP Z series is very powerful and affordable computers which I simply think is a brilliant Hackintosh solution. MY HW Specification : HP Z800 with BIOS version : 3.60 CPU: x2 6-core X5690 RAM: 32 GB GFX: ATI HD5870 SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB What you need. - A HP Z800/600 (obviously) - A working computer running Mac OS X - A 8gb or higher USB 2.0 key - Mac OS X Sierra app - Latest CLOVER - The Attached Kexts Step one – BIOS Update Update your BIOS to the latest (currently it is 3.60 Rev.A 14 Apr 2016) Download there The easiest way is to run the flash tool on a Windows installation. Step two – BIOS settings Setup the BIOS settings with the following settings. Please keep in mind that there might be option you can turn on or off depending on your need but this is just what worked for me. Storage > Storage Options - Removal Media Boot = Enable - Legacy Diskette Write = Enable - SATA Emulation = RAID+AHCI Security > System Security - Data Execution Prevention = Enable - Virtualization (VTx) = Disable - Virtualization (VT-d2) = Disable - AES Instruction = Enable Security > Device Security (Everything to “Device Available” except these) - Serial port = Hidden - Internal USB = Hidden - SAS Controller = Hidden - Legacy Diskette = Hidden - Embedded Security = Hidden Power > OS Power Management - Runtime Power Man = Enable - MWAIT-Aware OS = Enable - Idle Power savings = Extended - ACPI S3 Hard Disk = Disable - ACPI S3 PS2 Mouse = Enable - USB Wake = Disable - Unique Sleep State = Disable Power > Hardware Power Management - SATA Power Manage = Enable - Intel Turbo Boost = Enable - Enhanced Intel Turbo Boost = Enable - EUP Compliance = Enable Advanced > Processor - Hyper-Threading = Enable - Active Cores = All Cores - Limited CPUID = Disable Advanced > Chipset/Memory - PCI SERR# Generation = Disable - PCI VGA Palette Snooping = Disable - Enhanced Memory Performance = Enable Advanced > Device Options - Num Lock = Off - S5 Wake on LAN = Enable - Multi-Processor = Enable - Internal Speaker = Disable - Monitor Tracking = Disable - NIC PXE = Disable - SATA RAID Option ROM = Enable Step tree – Create the USB Download the Mac OS Sierra installer app from the Appstore on a working computer running Mac Run Disk Utility and format the USB key as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with GUID Partition Map. I just named the USB Key Untitled as standard Then open terminal and run this command to create the USB key sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app Please note that this part of the command “/Volumes/Untitled” is the path to the USB key and if you have named it anything else than “Untitled” you will have to edit it with the name of your USB key. Once the command is done you have to install Clover which can be downloaded here Run the clover pkg and remember to “Change Install Location” to your usb. Then choose costumize and choose the following: - Bootloader - Install boot0af in MBR - CloverEFI - CloverEFI 64-bits SATA Once Clover is installed you will need to add the following Kexts (attached below) to the /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.12 folder on your USB Key. - AHCIPortInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext - FakeSMC_v6.16.1372_netkas.kext - IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext - NullCPUPowerManagement_v1.0.0d2_tgwbd.kext Step four – Boot to Installation Insert the USB key and start the computer. At the HP screen choose F9 to choose boot option. Then select USB drive When you are at the CLOVER screen you can choose options and in the boot arguments you should write use the –v bootflag to be able to see what is going on in case there is any errors. In my case I am using a ATI 5870 GPU and I don’t need to do anything as the ATI 5xxx series is supported but Mac OS X by default. If you have an Nvidia card you need to add the nv_disable=1 boot argument to avoid a black screen. Now run the installer as you would with any Mac and at the install screen you shall rund Disk Utility and format the drive you want to use as we did previously with the USB key. Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with GUID Partition Map. The installer will reboot the computer and when It starts again you need to hit F9 again select the USB key but this time at the Clover screen You need to choose your newly created Hard drive. The Installer will continue after this and boot one last time before booting in to the new system. Please note that you need to boot from the USB and choose the hard drive each time at the Clover screen. Step five – Make the OS bootable Once you are running your new OS you will need to install clover to that drive like we did previously on the USB key. Run the clover pkg and remember to “Change Install Location” to your hard drive. Then choose costumize and choose the following: - Bootloader - Install boot0af in MBR - CloverEFI - CloverEFI 64-bits SATA Once Clover is installed you will need to add these following Kexts found here to the /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.12 folder on you’re the OS X hard drive. If you have an Nvidia GPU you will need to install the web driver which is found here And use the nvda_drv=1 boot flag at the clover screen. You will need to add this to the config.plist ether manually or with clover configurator to avoid typing it in all the time. Enjoy your new powerful hackintosh. HP Z800 kexts Sierra.zip

Help! ASUS K501UX

Hey guys, I am fairly new to the scene and recently successfuly installed El Capitan 10.11 on the Asus K501UX The specs are: Core i7-6500u, 8GB RAM, GTX 950M (DISABLED), HD520 Everything seems to be in good working order thanks to Ludwig Bartholomew for guiding me and helping me through the process. But, I keep recieving a Kernel Panic everytime I have the VoodooI2C kext installed for the trackpad to function. If I remove it everything works fine except for the trackpad which is the issue. Note: I also removed all of the LPSS kext files from the S/L/E to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

13. Hello there! I have been trying to install El Capitan 10.11.4 on my system. It is a HP 250 G2 Laptop. I have only been successful in installing on VMware using VMware unlocker and also changing the CPUID in the VMX file. After creating and installer with tutorials from Eladnava.com I was able to create an installer with Clover. But trying to boot, I keep getting: OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for \. IABootFiles\boot.efi Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no asked for SMC=4D535463 (MSTc) len=1 asked for SMC=4D534163 (MSAc) len=2 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ And nothing else. I have even tried the OsxAptioFix2Drv but still same error but with "OsxAptioFix2Drv: Starting overrides for \. IABootFiles\boot.efi". I don't know much about boot args but I've tried nv_disable=1, cpus=1 but they don't seem to work. I attached the full Hardware info of my system in CODEBLOKS-PC.txt and CODEBLOKS-PC.HTM. Please help me with solutions.
14. Hello Insanelymac, I've successfully installed Mac OS X Sierra on 2 32gb flash drives with them as a JBOD Raid. I can only get into the hackintosh if I use another USB flash drive with Clover installed on it. I've tried using a clover installer however that just installs on my Raid Disk. I've also noticed that when I open clover configurator, there are 2 EFI partitions but both of them were empty. I've tried moving the contents of the EFI on my Raid disk that clover installed but my BIOS does not detect it. Also when I use the other flash drive to boot into clover, there is another volume called "BOOT OS X" right next to my Raid Disk Volume that I use to boot from. I just want to install and boot off of my Raid usb flash drives. Really running out of options, Thanks guys.
15. So i'm trying to install OSX 10.4 Tiger (patched for intel cpus) on a 9 year old laptop, so far i've burnt a DVD and tried to boot from it, when not starting with -v it loads and then a prohibited sign shows up, and when starting with -v it keeps saying "still waiting for root device", i've tried multipile fixes and none of them work, and im sure there isnt a problem with the computer as it also fails to boot on my core 2 duo machine, so is it possible one of you guys knows how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
16. Mavericks/Yosemite laptop Overheating (Core 2 Duo)Hello guys, i have a problem with my laptop Bangho, Motherboard made by Clevo which has an overheating problem, this problem happens in every hackintosh that i install, no matter what, my pc would overheat to over 70º, i been using HWmonitor to check my temperatures and it's over 70º and sometimes it goes over 80º which is really weird becouse when i use windows my pc works at around 30º-40º, if you want to know my specs, here they are: Cpu: Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26GHz Gpu: nVidia GeForce 9300m GS (236mb) Ram: 3 GB 1x2gb 1x1gb Audio: Intel 82801I (ICH9 Family) Wireless Adapter: Atheros AR9285 Motherboard: Clevo M746TU (I think) Laptop Model: Bangho B-76XOTU Os: Niresh Mavericks (And tested Yosemite Zone) getting same problem with both OS Stuff i already tried: - Install NullCpuPowerManagement (Didn't Work, high temperature) - Delete NullCpuPowerManagement and installing Patched intelcpupowermanagement from ##### (Getting Kernel Panic) - Install ##### (Didn't Work, high temperature) - Using -cpus=1 (Didn't Work, high temperature) To finalize i must add that when my laptop gets really hot it turns off itself Other Details: - System is really slow to load, mainly becouse it stuck a while in a line like this: [iOBluetoothHCIController][searchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport! 19. Hi Everybody, This is my first post so hope its ok, anyway. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WillWills' Hackintosh Guide ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What You Need: USB stick A computer that you are able to use, preferably with OS X installed Internet connection How to fix Hackintosh locked via iCloud website Step 1. Backup Data (Optional) So, first we need to backup our data, to do this, we need access to our system that we are locked out of, this is a temporary fix and may or may not work for you but here is how you do it: Boot Into Your Bootloader Boot Using The Boot Flags -s and -v When You Get To Bash, type "nvram -c" without quotation marks Now Type "exit" Without Quotation Marks And You Should Be Able To Access Your Old Files Step 2. The Fix This is the easy part, all you need to do is download the latest version of your BIOS and flash it (make sure it erases and resets everything) now you will either have access to your hard drive or you will have to do a clean install of OS X ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank You For Reading ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20. Hi, Since this topic has been moved to the Installation Guides section, i figured i might as well make a one. The post information is similar to the previous guide i wrote for the Inspiron 7720, this is mainly because it is easier than writing a complete new guide. Some Specs: Processor: Intel i7-4700MQ Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 745M/Intel HD4600 Memory: 16GB Wireless + Bluetooth: Intel Wireless-N 7260 Ethernet: Atheros AR8161 Audio: Conexant CX20751/2 Touchpad: Synaptics - Where to start?: A nice guide on how to create your own USB installer is provided here: http://www.insanelym...-for-beginners/ I do recommend using this method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302220-pandoras-box-20-candidate-3-roll-out/ It's self-explanatory. If you only run Windows at the moment, install OS X into a virtual machine, and follow the guide from there. - What will not work?: - Wifi, you will have to replace the card, i switched mine with an Atheros AR5B93. Note: After replacing, your Bluetooth will not work anymore. - Nvidia GT 745M, the card has been completely disabled in the DSDT. If this is not done it will make your system freeze on startup if the NVDA* and GeForce* kexts are not removed. Also, the system will overheat if it is not disabled. Since you can not use the card, it is best to disable it. - FN Keys for brightness (Needs research) - Card reader (Needs to be ported from Linux Realtek_RTS5229_Linux_Driver_v1.07.zip) - So...What does work?: - Speedstep - Sleep/wake - Intel HD4600 with patches - Audio, line out, speakers, HDMI and internal mic, DSDT injection and a patched AppleHDA. - Battery status, ACPIBatteryManager.kext - Webcam - Brightness control with FN key functions. - Touchpad with gestures - Ethernet - 1. Pre-Installation. - Download the EFI.zip from this post and place it on your desktop. When you opened Pandora's Box, select bootloader > Clover UEFI, click start. I had some issues with Pandora installing the bootloader. - When Pandora is done download Clover configurator, select mount EFI, on the bottom right corner, Mount EFI partition, and select the USB s1 (disk2s1 in most cases). - Open folder, it will be empty, just copy the EFI folder to that partition. Or do it the manual way: I prefer to just open a terminal window and type the following: sudo -s password diskutil list Which will output this: bash-3.2# diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *1.5 TB disk0 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS Yosemite 189.8 GB disk0s2 3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3 4: Apple_HFS TimeMachine 110.0 GB disk0s4 5: Apple_HFS Opslag 1.2 TB disk0s5 /dev/disk1 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *750.2 GB disk1 1: DE94BBA4-06D1-4D40-A16A-BFD50179D6AC 1.0 GB disk1s1 2: DE94BBA4-06D1-4D40-A16A-BFD50179D6AC 12.6 GB disk1s2 3: EFI SYSTEM 157.3 MB disk1s3 4: Microsoft Reserved 134.2 MB disk1s4 5: Microsoft Basic Data Windows 209.7 GB disk1s5 6: Microsoft Basic Data Opslag 526.5 GB disk1s6 /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *8.0 GB disk2 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk2s1 2: Apple_HFS Naamloos 1 7.7 GB disk2s2 bash-3.2# In this case disk2 is my usb key, disk2s1 is the EFI partition. Now type the following: mkdir /Volumes/EFI mount -t msdos /dev/disk2s1 /Volumes/EFI You can now open finder and copy the Clover contents to the EFI partition to match the screenshot. Another way of installing Clover: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/305255-making-a-yosemite-usb-installer-w-clover-the-correct-way/ - 2. Installation. Boot from the USB installer, it will boot in verbose mode, if any error occurs, you can take a photo of it and attach it to a post here. First you need to prepare the HDD to install Yosemite on. I recommend using and empty HDD, format it to GPT, with 1 partition formatted to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) 100GB, and another partition for your data, can be anything. Now go through the setup and select your newly created partition. Grab a cup of coffee or something. - 3. Installing a bootloader. After installation the system will reboot. Boot from the USB installer again. When you arrive at the Clover boot loader screen, select the partition you have just installed OS X to, and press enter. OS X will load, go through the system setup. The first thing you want to do is install a bootloader to the HDD. I have attached the files needed for Clover. The steps on how to install Clover are described in point 1. - 4. Patching AppleHDA.kext - 5. AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext and AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.kext This is now controlled by Clover and an AppleHDA injection kext (Used PikerAlpha's method and edited accordingly: Info here. ) Kext to be injected by Clover: AppleHDACX20751.kext.zip Patches controlled by Clover: Old content: Original post and files: El Capitan: For El Capitan the DSDT has been edited to remove the USB 3.0 multiplex patch since it was causing a kernel panic. The USB ports are injected by FakeSMC, as well as the AppleHDA information. Since plist patching by Clover does not work for me for some reason, i have used the Graphics.sh patch to enable the HD4600 with full acceleration. Clover folder: CLOVER10.11.zip sudo bash /path/to/graphics.sh Graphics.sh: Graphics.sh.zip For the AppleHDA add the following 2 files to AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/ and repair permissions using Kext Utility. HDA layout.zip The rest is handled by Clover and FakeSMC. Changelog: EFI.zip config.plist.zip Kexts.zip DSDT_MINI160v3.zip

23. For those of you, like myself, who choose not buying QUO when it was on kickstarter phase and now regret for quite a while not being able to use a thunderbolt capable board with our good old Ivy Bridge CPUs, since 7-series boards vanished, and the few ones which had TB more so, that's noteworthy news. I was planning to upgrade my old i5 3570K, but perhaps I had an alternative which would allow me to keep it: http://quocomputer.com/shop/z77mx-quo-aos/ Still thinking about it: does it still worth the price in these 8/9 Series/Haswell/Broadwell days?
24. Hi everyone! First, please forgive my English, is not my native language, so, Grammar Nazis are welcome to make an appearance here. Now to the main thing. A friend needs OSX for work, but he doesn´t has the budget to buy even the cheapest apple product, so I took his Packard Bell and started with this little project. Notebook specifications: CPU: Intel I5-450M RAM: 8GB DDR3 Video: Intel GMA HD <-Not sure about this...I know is a decent HD video card, but not sure about the model. Please let me know if it is vital info and I will ask the owner and update this. HDD: 320GB. + usual Notebook stuff like webcam, bluetooth, atheros chipset on the wifi hardware, realtek sound, etc. It´s a pretty nice PC, I guess it should be enough to run mountain lion...maybe I´m wrong. I tried with iDeneb 1.3 and didn´t work. stuck at instalation, Then i tried iAtkos L2 and managed to install, but got stuck in a nice apple loading screen. Before I jumped from my balcony, i saw this strange post in a obscure blog about the Niresh 12495 hackintosh. So I give it a try. Installed witouth troubles, but stuck in the apple logo again. I tried a -v boot and manage to see where it got stuck (couldn´t do that on iatkos or ideneb by the way). Captures at the end of this post. Lastly, I tried a -v -s -x boot. I got a console, so when i tried to input a help command, i realized the keyboard wasn´t working. It works in the boot screen, but when the console boots i guess is waiting for a bluetooth or a ps/2 keyboard, it doesn´t recognize nor the Notebook keyboard or a usb keyboard. So, should I give up? any advice will be welcomed warmly. Please don´t be shy and let me know if I can do anything else to help understand the issue. Kindest Regards from Chile. 25.
