  1. ****************************************************************************************************************************** IF YOU WANT A RAW COPY (THAT INCLUDES ACTUAL FORMATTING) OF THIS UNFINISHED GUIDE, ASK ME THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE, THEN MODIFY IT AND SEND IT BACK TO ME THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE, IT'LL BE A PLEASURE TO UPDATE IT, BUT I'M NOT ACTIVE HERE ANYMORE -- ALSO, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HAVE THIS THREAD'S OWNERSHIP CHANGED AND WANT TO OWN IT, LET ME KNOW HOW TO PROCEED AS I DO NOT WISH TO KEEP IT FOR ME, THANKS! ****************************************************************************************************************************** Hi, I'm starting this new topic in the hope to, progessively, create a guide for a vanilla (as much as possible) OS X Installation on Z400/Z600/Z800 Workstations. I invite you to participate in the comments so that this topic becomes an easy-to-follow guide. The idea of doing this emerged from information exchanged with other members (proteinshake, MacPeet, zhangtemplar, MacUser2525, nitelava & apav) in topic titled "Fix my HP! Just a few random DSDT-edits to improve your HacMac experience." originally created by proteinshake. Main goals of this guide Explain manual procedures; Avoid "magical" utilities, but don't ignore them (they can sometimes be time/life savers); Make you become independent & aware of the inner mechanics of creating a functional Hackintosh, so that you can repeat & adapt those procedures for future hackintosh projects. *** AS THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS TOPIC, I WILL NEED SOME HELP TO GATHER ACCURATE INFORMATION *** HELP NEEDED, PLEASE READ THIS SECTION, THANKS! As I only own a Z400 Workstation, I'd need you (those who own Z600 and Z800 Workstations) to send me your lspci output. To do so, you have 2 options: Boot with a Linux LiveCD (see the Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links section at the bottom of this post); If you already have an OSX version installed, you'll need to install lspci (see the Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links section at the bottom of this post). Type the following command : lspci -nnvv >~/Desktop/lspci-nnvv_output.txt If you are using Linux, please also type this command (before creating the following, make sure you updated your BIOS to v03.57) : sudo cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT >~/Desktop/DSDT.aml OR: sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt >~/Desktop/DSDT.aml (whichever works for you) Copy those files to a USB flash drive, send them to yourself by email or whatever other method you want. Then, reply to this topic mentionning which workstation you have, and attach the file(s) created above. ALSO, if you got Clover to boot your Z400 / Z600 / Z800 Worktation, PLEASE send us your config.plist so that we can have a starting point. I'm trying to switch from Chameleon to Clover, but I'm still unable to fix a Kernel Panic I have; I will report it with a screenshot soon in the comments, maybe some of you might know why I get it. Requirements Another Mac or Hackintosh machine; 8GB+ USB flash drive; BIOS updated to latest version (v03.57, 2013-09-20 release, found HERE); This is mandatory for 2 reasons : patched DSDT files included in this guide will not work (properly) if you use a different BIOS version; that latest BIOS version fixes possible erratic behaviours with Xeon 3600 & 5600 CPU series. Z400/Z600/Z800 specific files (see Z400/Z600/Z800 specific information sections further below). BIOS setup instructions (eventually, there will be screenshots) You must set your hard drive controller to AHCI+RAID mode, else you won't be able to use your SATA devices. ... Generic instructions (for all downloads/credits, see Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links & All attached files sections at the bottom of this post) Get a copy of Yosemite Installer from the AppStore; Create a Yosemite boot DVD or USB (USB recommended); Partition & format the USB Flash Drive : Put your USB Flash Drive in a USB port; Open Disk Utility; Select your USB Flash Drive disk in the left pane; Click on the "Partition" tab in the right pane; Change "Partition Scheme" to 1; Click on "Options" at the bottom; Make sur you select GUID (first one) and click on OK; Give it a name, let's say Yosemite-Installer for the sake of this guide; Change "Format" to "Extended Mac OS (journaled)" (AFTER THIS STEP, YOU'LL ERASE YOUR USB Flash Drive, so make a backup first if you have important data on it!); Click on "Apply"; Create a USB Flash Drive with Yosemite Installer on it; Open Terminal; Copy/Paste the following command (make sure to verify the path names as they might differ slightly on your setup) - it will ask for your user password to elevate the command at root permission level : sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/YosemiteInstaller --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction Wait until it's completed (takes about 20 minutes, depending on your setup and USB speed); Into your volume's /System/Library/Extensions folder, copy the following kernel extensions (kext) : AHCIPortInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext.zip & IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext.zip - Those extensions make OS X detect your SATA controller. You'll get the "Waiting for root device..." message if you don't install those. (Couldn't yet find official page nor original thread for those, please let me know if you found it - credits seem to go to Micky1979); FakeSMC_v6.16.1372_netkas.kext.zip - emulates Apple's SMC chip found on Apple motherboards; NullCPUPowerManagement_v1.0.0d2_tgwbd.kext.zip - prevents kernel panic of genuine Apple Power Management; (optional for the install disk, this is to get sound working) VoodooHDA_v2.87.kext.zip (autumnrain, slice2009) - The file attached here is version 2.87 with a tweaked Info.plist to fix noise & volume issues for our workstations. According to my tests, HDADisabler kext is not needed (probably because original unpatched AppleHDA won't detect our Realtek ALC262 chipset). Now, let's rebuild that target volume's kernel cache with the following command : kextcache -f -update-volume /Volumes/YosemiteInstall Create the Extra folder on your Yosemite's install disk : mkdir -p /Volumes/YosemiteInstaller/Extra Install a bootloader Chameleon ... DSDT-HP Pavilion 15-cb028nl

Grazie mille!!
  5. I have an HP Elitebook 8460P running OSx 10.13.4 High Sierra I have an odd issue i believe is related to DSDT patch for ACPI Power battery. My battery icon works the battery level goes up/down and battery goes black when charging/white when not. BUT... Always has a lightning bolt in it and says "Power Source: Power Adapter" no matter if its connected or not. How can i get it to recognize my adapter is unplugged?
  6. Hi, can someone of you palese help me fix the dsdt from my HP 15 p030nl? I need battery mette, back light control and the audio work in. Pls, I'm just bad at this, and before making a mess, i'd like your help. P. S. I'm on High Sierra DSDT.aml.zip
  7. Hello, I will explain how i have installed Os X EL Capitan 10.11 on HP ElibteBook 820 G2. Before start this installation, or buy this computer, you have to know that it's hard to find a compatible wifi/BT module. This guide still not 100% perfect. This allow to install: - El Capitan Public Beta 1 (10.11.0) - El Capitan Public Beta 2 and above (10.11.0) Yosemite 10.10.x doesn't support Broadwell processor and so can't be installed. Working: - Wifi and Bluetooth doesn't work, you have to find a compatible wifi/bt card with NGFF M2 slot. this one is compatible: Dell DW1560 part code: 6xRYC - SD card reader. - Display port on the dock station Needed materials: - a mac or hackintosh - usb drive - external hard drive (if you do fusion on post-install) Other solution: You can use HP Probook Installer Clover Edition 6.4 or up to install El Capitan. It doesn't add anything more than working with my guide. It will define you mac as a MacBookAir7,2. 1/Create Bootable USB Installer 2/ Configurer le Bios 3/ Installer le système Mac sur le disque dur 4/ post installation 5/ DSDT 6/ SSDT. 7/ Fusion drive 8/ ENJOY !! 9/ Ressources and thanks All greatings to Rehabman

I can't be held responsible for the faults and errors of those who follow (or choose not to follow) my advise or instructions. You are on your own if you proceed. This was created with the assumption that anyone following it would be using the SAME machine model and hardware setup as mine, a HP ENVY 17t-j000 Quad. It is merely a place to list my testing results. Consider this your one and ONLY warning. Continue at your OWN RISK... NOTICE: I will always be very proud of the work that was put into the making of these files not just by me but through the amazingly generous and wonderful people in this community. During my absence, that same community even took over and provided others with the assistance to keep up-to-date with the newer flavors of OS X. All of that hard work, time and effort will remain here on the first page for as long as possible for both reference and historical purposes. For reference, I supported and maintained packages for 10.8.x Mountain Lion, 10.9.x Mavericks and 10.10.x Yosemite (briefly). Andrw0380 has generously been providing more updated support packages for this thread for quite some time now. If you are to use any of the files listed below, I would recommend his as they are typically more recent and better tested. Be sure to check over his posts for further details and usage instructions and don't forget to say THANKS for his time and effort. The good news is it has recently been brought to my attention that RehabMan has been hard at work and has created a much better, more reliable method for both current and possibly future OS X installs. His new method, named the "hotpatch" method is far superior to our old ones and should rightfully take its place. I leave you with a direct link to his detailed and extensive guide to assist both current and future users with their adventures in OS X. Should you find success using his method, please remember to say THANKS for his work and to possibly add to his growing repository to hopefully assist future users in their own success stories. AppleAHCIPort.kext (for RAID)

    Version 1.0 (only version)

This modified AppleAHCIPort.kext makes it possible to Hackintosh laptops and desktops that are locked in RAID SATA mode. I've personally only tested it with the HP m6-1045dx laptop, which uses a classic locked BIOS and HM77 "Panther Point" chipset paired with the Ivy Bridge i5. Based on the nature of the kext, I would say this can work with other computers, just give it a go! ------------------------ Why do I need this kext? If your SATA-connected hard drive isn't being detected by the OS X installer and you have no control over SATA mode in BIOS/EFI (ie, IDE, RAID, AHCI modes). Common with the latest (2012 at least and newer) HP laptops, probably the trend for many OEMs these days. ------------------------ Install via Kext Wizard, probably a good idea to rebuild cache/repair permissions (also via Kext Wizard) while you're at it! Thanks to eep357 for making this file!

  11. DISM is your friend! Part 1: (For all the computers that don't have UEFI) Prepare two USB keys, one with El Capitan & one with Windows 10. First put the Windows USB, during the installation (when it asked the Windows code) press shift + f10 and will open the command prompt: diskpart list disk (list of your hdd) select disk 0 (0 is number of your hdd) clean (ATTENTION clean all your hard disk selected) convert gpt create partition efi size=200 (creates EFI partition) format fs=fat32 label=EFI We made a EFI partition. In my Hdd I have 3 partitions ( 1 for Mac, 1 for Windows=Ntfs & 1 in exFat for sharing files between the two systems). create partition primary size=100000 (1 partition for Mac OS X 100GB) format fs=fat32 quick label=Mac (after we will format in HFS+ with disk utility) create partition msr size=128 (creates Microsoft Reserved) create partition primary size=100000 (1 partition for Windows 10 100GB) format fs=ntfs quick label=Windows (format in Ntfs) create partition primary (creates a partition with the remaining space) format fs=exfat quick label=Hdd (format in exFat) Now the fun part. We should insert the letters for the partitions. Check select disk 0 list volume (check the assigned letters, REMINDS the letter assigned to the USB "example d") list partition (check the number of partition EFI "example partition 1") select partition 1 assign letter=h list partition (check the number of partition Windows "example partition 3") select partition 3 assign letter=g exit Then we have the letter "D:\" for the USB, "H:\" for the EFI partition & "G:\" for the Windows partition. Now we need to copy the installation files from the USB to the Windows partition. cd\windows\system32\ dism /apply-image /imagefile:d:\sources\install.wim /index:1 /applydir:g:\ Break.... Now we need the Windows EFI boot files. cd\ g: bcdboot (check the command line) bcdboot g:\windows /1 en-us /s h: /f UEFI (in my case "/1 It-it") Restart the computer with the Mac USB "Clover bootloader", then select Microsoft EFI and start the installation of Windows 10 in FULL GPT. If you don't see the exFat partition in Windows don't worry. (Take a program like Partition Wizard, format the partition in NTFS and assigns the letter D:\. Now open the command prompt administrator and write: diskpart select disk 0 list partition (check the partition before-exFat = after-NTFS "example partition 4") select partition 4 format fs=exfat quick label=Hdd Now you must have the partition exfat visible and writable) Part 2: Important! Don't format or delete the EFI partition. From the Mac USB we need delete AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext. Now we go in to the installation of El Capitan, with disk utility format the partition "Mac" in HFS+ mac journaled, then install Mac OS X. Installing On a HPZ400

I am going to be installing Yosemite on a HP Z400 that has a Xeon W3635 and I am replacing graphics with an R9 270x. The Z400 is coming in on Monday and I was wondering if It would be a good idea to record my entire process and upload the video to help others that may be having trouble? Would anyone be interested in this sort of video and I will also try El Captain and do the same if people say they would be interested
  14. Hello, I have a laptop (HP 15-ay034nl) with Intel Core i7 6500U SkyLake An integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 video card and a dedicated AMD Radeon R7 M340. You can install macOS Sierra? Thanks in advance
  15. Following a week of trial and error (a lot of errors), I was finally able to install last night my first Hackintosh! First attempt using Clover boot loader did not work and resulted mostly in kernel panic. Second attempt with Chameleon got me closer, but still I could not figure out what was wrong. The one thing that my gut feeling told me was that I may need to make sure I have maxed out my RAM with identical SO-DIMMs. When I started, the Elitebook had one 4GB and one 2GB SO-DIMM. When I tried swapping, there were further problems which could only be resolved by resetting the BIOS to default. After that, everything went mostly smoothly. This is my current BIOS configuration: With the boot flags -x -v -f I was able to finally get the installation completed: Could create an account and log in: and these are the screenshots showing the OS X: and as what the Elitebook is known to the Apple world, as a MacBook Pro 6.2: I'll post more details in a follow-up. Many special thanks go to all who have helped, but in particular to iFire, artur-pt, PJALM, joe75, Download-Fritz and Joseph. Apologies if I forgot any of the many from this forum who have actively helped me to get this far. Attached is the Manual for the HP8440p with hardware specifications, which is useful to know what kind of kexts to install. HP8440p Manual.pdf

  21. Thanks to the website for being a resource and making hacktintosh a valuable resource to the little guy. I have a HP Elitebook 8560p with a Radeon HD 6470m video card / Hackintosh that I was able to get Mavericks onto with everything working but Sierra has problems with the USB 3.0, as well the Radeon Card working with GPU acceleration. I have installed Sierra and I cannot get the GPU to work with OPEN CL, resolution or the USB 3.0 to be recognized, unlike the Mavericks partition. As far as the Radeon goes, It is in VGA mode with no GPU acceleration, but it sees it in the system profiler but not correctly with the V RAM. I for the life of me cannot remember how I resolved these issues in Mavericks, as I was foolish enough not to take notes or make a build sheet. Can you point me in the right direction on these 2 issues? I can provide my contact information as well if this is OK to? Buongiorno ragazzi. Mi chiedevo se fosse possibile installare sul mio HP sopra indicato, questa versione di MacOS. Il notebook in questione ha: 8 GB di RAM, intel i7-4500U, Intel HD Graphics e scheda video dedicata Geforce 740M. Vi ringrazio in anticipo!
  23. Introduction New Hp laptops series have UEFI implemented in BIOS, and it provides much more advantages over current BIOS-based bootloaders like Chimera/Chameleon. - Faster BIOS boot time - Easier OS X install/Upgrade with native methods - Create and boot to Recovery HD, [sTRIKETHRU]which enables Find My Mac option[/sTRIKETHRU]. - Patching kexts on the fly - Bootmenu customization - Can boot to Windows UEFI (which recognizes > 4 partitions GPT drive) - Don't need to mess with master boot records The guide is for: - 6-series laptop: HP Probook 4x30s, 6x60b, Elitebook 8x60p, 2x60p using 6-series chipset - 7-series laptop: HP Probook 4x40s, 4x0, 6x70b, Elitebook 8x70p, 2x70p using 7-series chipset. *Only HP Elitebook/Probook 6xx0b without Radeon card is supported * HP Probook 4xx0s with/without Radeon card is supported You can download the latest Clover files here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/083x2j1mvmfh4l9/ZSYm2_iQRf *Always search in the first post before asking questions* Known issues - - Distorted bootscreen with 7-series laptops using 1366x768 display + UEFI native (without CSM) setting. Changing Clover resolution to 1024x768 can fix it. - Sleep is not reliable on 6-series laptops. It can cause the system to auto restart some minutes after wake. - Use HaltEnabler or other SLP_SMI_EN keys in config.plist may brick your laptop, the only way to solve is reflash your ROM! They are disabled by default but AVOID IT AT ALL COST - There is 10s-15s delay before going to sleep. It's a function (or a bug?) in Mavericks, even on real Mac (confirmed by RehabMan) - Find My Mac does not work properly. Don't lock your mac because it's hard (or unable) to unlock again. - NVRam in 7-series laptops only remembers the last boot partition value, others (like Find My Mac, Boot theme) are lost after restart. You can install EmuVariableUefi-64 to have Emulation nvram. - Battery status is slow to update on some 4540s. If you have the problem, remove EmuVariableUefi-64.efi. Install OS X Mavericks 1. Create partition for Clover bootloader: - Create a FAT32 partition on USB drive (GPT or MBR partition table), with size at least 100MB and extract all files from Clover.zip to that partition. - Select the right config.plist in config.zip and copy to EFI/Clover/. 2. Create Mavericks Installer partition (need a Mac): - Use Disk Utility to create a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition, size at least 6GB on USB drive (it can be the same drive with 1st step, or another drive), name it "Untitled". - Download Mavericks Install app from AppStore. - Launch terminal and run the following script: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction- Your Mavericks Installer partition will be renamed "Install OS X Mavericks" 3. Enable these options in BIOS: 6-series laptop: UEFI Boot. 7-series laptop: UEFI Native without CSM or UEFI Hybrid with CSM (if you have Windows Legacy) Disable Wake on LAN. 4. Plug all the flashdrives in step 1 and 2 to USB 2.0 ports. Restart and press F9 to choose Boot devices > Boot from EFI file > choose your Clover bootloader partition > EFI > Boot > BOOTX64.efi 5. Clover bootloader screen shows up, select "Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Mavericks" (your Mavericks Installer partition). 6. Install screen will appear, use Disk Utility to format your drive as GPT, create a Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) partition and Install Mavericks. The installer will extract necessary files to "Install OS X Mavericks" (not your target partition). This takes a lot of time at the end, though you only see "a minute remaining". This will end PHASE 1. 7. Restart and press F9 to choose Boot devices > Boot from EFI file > choose your Clover bootloader partition > EFI > Boot > BOOTX64.efi 8. Clover bootloader screen shows up, select "Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Mavericks" (your Mavericks Installer partition, not your install target partition). 9. Install screen will appear and continue installation. This time, installer will install files to your target partition and create Recovery HD partition. This will end PHASE 2. 10. Restart and press F9 to choose Boot devices > Boot from EFI file > choose your Clover bootloader partition > EFI > Boot > BOOTX64.efi 11. Clover bootloader screen shows up, select "Boot OS X from YourPartition". 12. If everything goes well, you can boot straight to Mavericks desktop. 13. Download HP Probook Installer here http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/87816-hp-probook-installer-6-1-4x30s-4x40s-support.html and install with these options: OS X support kexts: select only the version that matches your laptop (4x30s, 4x40s, etc). DSDT generator/patcher: - ProBook model: your Probook Model - Fan behavior: your prefered fan methods, need HPFanReset.efi to work. - Display type: your display SSDT generator/patcher: Generate SSDT.aml for your CPU Management Optional patches: - Intel USB3.0 patch: allows the use of vanilla AppleUSBXHCI.kext instead of GenericUSBXHCI.kext. This USB3 patch is valid only if you have a 7-series chipset. Note: you must select one option from each of the first three groups to generate a patched DSDT. Optional hardware-specific fixes: - AHCI 3rd party kext: You can apply this option later if it turns out your DVD drive is not recognized by the system. It is not needed on every laptop. - EDID generator: Inject correct display EDID to your system. Misc OS X fixes: - Color profiles: Recommended. - Sleep fix: disables OS X version of "hybrid sleep" where upon entering sleep, a "hibernation image" is written to the boot drive. Recommend for SSD. - blinkscreen: This option will very quickly "blink" the screen when you login, fixing the brightness issues: Intel HD 3000: Screen brightness levels are not available before the first display sleep on Intel HD 4000: The display is dimmed before the first display sleep on Extra tools: All optional. Select the ones you want. After making your selections, click 'Continue' and allow the ProBook Installer to work. 14. (Optional) Restore vanilla AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, AppleRTC.kext (they're backed up in desktop) by using Kext Wizard. 15. Download latest Clover here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/files/Installer/ (Download latest version in folder, not in "Looking for the latest version?") Run the installer with Customized options: Install for UEFI motherboards Themes: Choose your desired themes Drivers64UEFI: - EmuVariableUefi-64 - OsxAptioFixDrv-64 Install RC scripts on target volume Install Clover Preference Pane 16. Clover installer will automatically mount your EFI partition and copy Clover bootloader files there. Copy following files to EFI partition of your internal drive (don't mistake with EFI partition of other drives): - Copy patched DSDT.aml and SSDT.aml created by PBI from /Extra folder to /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched/ - Copy config.plist from USB to /EFI/Clover/ - Copy HFSPlus.efi and HPFanReset.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ from your USB to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ in EFI partition, remove VBoxHfs-64.efi 17. Install Clover Configurator here: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/49-clover-configurator/ , open config.plist with CC and edit those values: - ACPI > GeneratePStates/CStates: uncheck - Gui > Theme: set your theme name - SMBIOS: create your new SMBIOS with random Serial Number 18. Recheck if config.plist, dsdt.aml and ssdt.aml are placed correctly in EFI partition of internal drive. 19. Restart, you should see Clover screen and option to boot to Mavericks. Enjoy! Update OS X Mavericks 10.9.1: Run the update and restart, then run PBI again and select OS X Support Kexts > your laptop. Install Windows UEFI as dual boot Install Windows UEFI (and other UEFI OSes) are quite easy because you don't need to mess up with Boot records. See FAQ for more detail. **To Install Windows 7 UEFI on 7-series laptops, you must select UEFI hybrid (with CSM) in BIOS. 1. Create your Windows UEFI install USB key by following the guide here: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/15458-uefi-bootable-usb-flash-drive-create-windows.html 2. Use Disk Utility or GParted to create a partition with Mac OS X Extended format on hard drive for Windows. This will prevent OS X from convert your drive to GPT/Hybrid MBR. 3. Restart and press F9 to choose Boot devices > Boot from EFI file > choose your Windows Install USB key > EFI > Boot > BOOTX64.efi 4. Use Windows installer to format the partition you prepared as NTFS. Complete install and now you will boot to Windows by default, Clover disappears. 5. Restart and press F9 to choose Boot devices > Boot from EFI file > choose your EFI partition (which contains Clover bootloader) > EFI > Clover > CLOVERX64.efi 6. You can now see Clover bootloader with new entry "Boot Microsoft UEFI Menu from EFI". 7. Boot to OS X and use Clover Configurator to mount EFI partition of your Windows UEFI drive (in case you have installed Windows to second drive, select disk1s1). Go to EFI/Microsoft/Boot/ and rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi 8. In EFI partition containing Clover bootloader, remove EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi and copy EFI/Clover/CLOVERX64.efi to EFI/Boot/ and rename it to BOOTX64.efi 9. Restart. Migrate from Chimera/Chameleon bootloader to Clover CAUTION: You can't use Clover UEFI on MBR drive. 1. Boot to OS X, download latest Clover here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/files/Installer/ (Download latest version in folder, not in "Looking for the latest version?"). Run the installer with Customized options: Install for UEFI motherboards Themes: Choose your desired themes Drivers64UEFI: - EmuVariableUefi-64 - OsxAptioFixDrv-64 Install RC scripts on target volume Install Clover Preference Pane 2. Clover installer will automatically mount your EFI partition and copy Clover bootloader files there. Copy following files to EFI partition of your internal drive (don't mistake with EFI partition of other drives): - Copy patched DSDT.aml and SSDT.aml created by PBI from /Extra folder to /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched/ - Extract config.plist from config.zip and copy it to /EFI/Clover/ - Copy HFSPlus.efi and HPFanReset.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ from your USB to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ in EFI partition, remove VBoxHfs-64.efi 3. Use Clover Configurator here: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/49-clover-configurator/ to edit some values in your config.plist: - ACPI > GeneratePStates/CStates: uncheck - Gui > Theme: set your theme name - SMBIOS: create your new SMBIOS with random Serial Number 4. (Optional) Restore vanilla AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, AppleRTC.kext by using Kext Wizard. 5. Recheck if config.plist, dsdt.aml and ssdt.aml are placed correctly in EFI partition of internal drive. 6. Restart to BIOS and enable these options in BIOS: 6-series laptop: UEFI Boot. 7-series laptop: UEFI without CSM. 7. Save settings and exit, you should see Clover screen and option to boot to Mavericks. *If you get problems with new Clover bootloader, turn off UEFI settings in BIOS and you will get Chameleon/Chimera back* Config Clover I suggest that you always update to the latest Clover Configurator to avoid removed keys in latest Clover 1. Mount EFI partition The recommend way is using Clover Configurator to mount EFI partition (Extra > MountEFI). Note that you have to unmount existing EFI partition first. To mount EFI partition, you can use the following command in terminal: diskutil list mkdir /Volumes/EFI sudo mount -t msdos /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/EFI --Note: if diskutil tells you your mavericks install is on disk1, disk2, etc change /disk0s1 appropriately. 2. SSDT SSDT CpuPm and Cpu0Ist have to be dropped to avoid conflict with new CPU SSDT tables. You shouldn't drop all OEM SSDT tables because some tables is benefitcal like SataAhci or PtidDevc SSDT (it can slow down sata in rare chance). <key>DropTables</key> <array> <dict> <key>Signature</key> <string>SSDT</string> <key>TableId</key> <string>CpuPm</string> </dict> <dict> <key>Signature</key> <string>SSDT</string> <key>TableId</key> <string>Cpu0Ist</string> </dict> </array>SSDT can be generated automatically by select Generate in config.plist: - GeneratePStates - GenerateCStates If you want to use SSDT.aml, remove Generate and put your SSDT.aml to EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched/ 3. Fast Boot To reduce the BIOS checking time (HP logo on screen) significantly by 5-6s, you can turn on Fast Boot in BIOS (it will be disabled if you installed HP Protect Tools in Windows). Please note that this will disable mouse devices and booting to USB devices from Clover bootscreen. To enable Full Boot temporarily, press ESC at boot and select Continue Startup. To bypass the Clover bootscreen, set Boot/Timeout to 0. You can trigger the Clover bootscreen by pressing any key right after HP logo disappears. 4. Legacy OS boot If you have Legacy OSes installed, you can enable Clover to boot legacy OS by editing your config.plist: - Gui > Scan > Custom: check Legacy - Boot > Legacy: LegacyBiosDefault For 7-series laptops, you also have to select UEFI with CSM in BIOS. 5. Disable wake up by USB devices To prevent USB devices from waking up your sleep, add this to your Devices section in config.plist - USB Inject - Add ClockID 6. Patching Kexts on-the-fly Clover can patch your kexts in kernel cache on-the-fly in KextsToPatch section. Clover will find bits value in your specified kexts and replace it. AppleRTC and AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement are patched by default in Kernel and Kext Patches: - AppleRTC - ASUS AICPUPM You can patch other kexts in Config.plist. Note that the config.plist uses 64-base value, while Clover Configurator shows your hexa value. Trim Enabler CC: 4150504C4520535344 -> 000000000000000000 config.plist <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>Trim Enabler</string> <key>Find</key> <data> QVBQTEUgU1NE </data> <key>Name</key> <string>IOAHCIBlockStorage</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> AAAAAAAAAAAA </data> </dict> 7. Custom Entry You can customize entries in Clover bootscreen. A typical entry looks like this: <dict> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>FullTitle</key> <string>OS X Mavericks</string> <key>Hidden</key> <false/> <key>Hotkey</key> <string>m</string> <key>InjectKexts</key> <false/> <key>NoCaches</key> <false/> <key>SubEntries</key> <true/> <key>Type</key> <string>OSX</string> <key>Volume</key> <string>Your MacHDD UUID</string> </dict>Note that the Volume value is your drive UUID in Clover bootloader, not UUID shown in OS X. You can find it in /Library/Logs/CloverEFI/boot.log. A guide for Custom Entry can be found here: http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/GUI#Custom-/-Entries, it's recommended to create custom entries by Clover Configurator. The custom entry will be added in Clover boot screen if it's matched. Other entries will be scanned if you set Scan Entries to true. Hidden entries can be shown by pressing F3 in Clover bootscreen. Here are some useful custom entries. Disable UEFI Internal entry: <dict> <key>Disabled</key> <true/> <key>FullTitle</key> <string>UEFI Internal</string> <key>Hidden</key> <false/> <key>SubEntries</key> <true/> <key>Type</key> <string>Other</string> </dict>Inject kexts for Recovery partition: <dict> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>FullTitle</key> <string>OS X Recovery</string> <key>Hidden</key> <true/> <key>InjectKexts</key> <true/> <key>NoCaches</key> <false/> <key>SubEntries</key> <true/> <key>Type</key> <string>OSXRecovery</string> </dict>Modified Windows custom entry <dict> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>FullTitle</key> <string>Windows 8.1 Professional</string> <key>Hidden</key> <false/> <key>Hotkey</key> <string>w</string> <key>Path</key> <string>\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw-orig.efi</string> <key>SubEntries</key> <true/> <key>Type</key> <string>Windows</string> <key>Volume</key> <string>Your EFI partition UUID</string> </dict> Frequently Ask Question 1. Spotlight Console spamming When you mount a FAT32 or faulty partition in Mavericks, especially EFI partition, Spotlight will try to index your partition and fail, which lead to tons of console errors. To disable permanently spotlight in a specific partition, go to that partition and create .metadata_never_index file by using the following command in terminal: touch .metadata_never_index 2. Recovery partition If you don't have a Recovery partition, you can create one by using RecoveryHDUpdater: https://plus.google.com/104196173613585151128/posts/6fPkZSoiDHs To boot to Recovery partition, place all your essential kexts (FakeSMC, VoodooHDA, network kexts) in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9 3. Sleep Turn off Wake on Ethernet in System Preferences and BIOS. If you have trouble with auto-wake caused by USB devices, turn off Wake on USB in BIOS, or disable wake by USB in your config.plist (see above). Some HP laptops have fingerprint sensor. If you disable it in BIOS, your system will auto wake after sleep. Enable it in BIOS will fix this 4. Reinstall or Update Clover bootloader Make sure you unmount EFI partition before reinstall/update Clover. Run the installer with your settings. [sTRIKETHRU]Then go to EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ and remove VBoxHfs-64.efi.[/sTRIKETHRU] Always check the information of new Clover version before updating. 5. Install Chameleon Set up your Chameleon bootloader, Extra partition, patch AICPM and AppleRTC kexts, then turn off UEFI in BIOS. 6. How to know if you're installing Windows UEFI In 7-series laptops, if your Windows installation can boot with UEFI (without CSM) option in BIOS, you're installing Windows UEFI. In 6-series laptops, use gdisk to check if your drive is GPT/Protective MBR. Only Windows UEFI can install to GPT/Protective MBR drive. 7. Can't install Windows UEFI because it says this is a MBR drive If you use Disk Utility to create a FAT partition, your drive will be converted to GPT/Hybrid MBR. To fix this, delete or reformat that FAT partition to Mac OS Extended, or use gdisk in Linux usb to convert your drive to GPT/Protective MBR. 24. Hackintosh Spectre XT 15t-400 Touchsmart Sierra For complete info go to my repo https://github.com/joaquinperaza/Hackintosh-HP-SpectreXT-15t-4000 This i just a future discussion post. I want to contribute as thank of all your help. I made this repo to collect all related info about this laptop. I am not using other dsdt or ssdt patches than clover ones, but I am open to your contributions. Where to start: Have a Mac? So prepare a USB using your preferred method, you can choose: Clover (Base guide Dont have a mac? Dont worry you can use a virtual box machine in your HP: To set up the vm use: http://www.wikigain.com/install-macos-sierra-10-12-virtualbox/ I discovered and posted how to run usb intaller in VirtualBox VM using Linux/Windows host:https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/5zks4c/create_sierra_bootable_usb_from_virtualbox/ I followed this guide that was the most similar to this model: https://www.google.com.uy/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiT2KW8v9HTAhWGIJAKHRtkAZIQFgggMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2Fhackintosh%2Fcomments%2F5pwtdd%2Fhp_spectre_xt_pro_13b000_running_macos_sierra%2F&usg=AFQjCNEXuPraFVEtqD7am308-wVd7ssCZQ So I did it with UxxxBxxx, with this options: UEFI Mode and Inject Intel USB installer tunning: After completing the UxxBxxx installation donwload clover configurator and add the settings that appear in cloverconfIMG folder. PD:You should also select -v (verbose) flag in boot section in first tests. PD:Ignore ket patches for the moment Copy the drivers inside the drivers64UEFI folder to your EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI folder. Copy the kexts from the kext folder to your EFI/CLOVER/kexts EXCLUDE VoodooHDA inside kext/10.12 folder. Sierra install: Now you're ready to run Sierra installer (if you are lucky the only issue you would have is no mouse and keyboard during install). Follow normal instructions for install OSX. Key points: Disable Secure boot in bios and disable legacy, enable cpu virtualization Boot vith -v flags in first tests. Post installation: Install those 'post install kext' with EasyKext Pro: VoodooPS2Controller.kext (Enable mouse and keyboard) USBInjectAll.kext (enable touchscreen and webcam) Dont install the optionals fixes yet. Reagarding audio i have tested to solution: Apply AppleHDA patched kext (Inside other files folder) //No microphone Use VoodooHDA installer and add the VoodooHDA inside kext/10.12 folder to clover. VoodooHDA provide microphone and beats audio but less quality and no volume. Hdmi fix: The plattform 0x01660004 dont have connectors, but is the onlyone compatible with our screen, so I patched the HEX table for you to make our screen compatible with 0x01660008 wich natively support our HDMI port. Just delete AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext from your System/Library/Estensions folder and immediately install the one inside kext folder/optional fixes with EasyKext Pro Then add this kextspatches in CloverConfigurator: | Name | Find | Replace | Plist checked? | | ------ | ------ | ------ | ------ | | AppleIntelFramebufferCapri | 04006601 01030101 00000002 | 04006601 01020402 00000004 | NO | | AppleIntelFramebufferCapri | 05030000 02000000 30020000 00000000 01000000 40000000 00000000 01000000 40000000 00000000 01000000 40000000 00000000 00000000 | 05030000 02000000 30020000 02050000 00080000 06000000 03040000 00040000 81000000 04060000 00040000 81000000 00000000 00020011 | NO | Wifi fix: Unfortunately our Intel Centrino N wifi card is not compatible i bought an Atheros AR9285 AR5B95, just replace and add install kexts inside Atheros AR9285 AR5B95 Sierra with EasyKext. | Name | Find | Replace | Plist checked? | | ------ | ------ | ------ | ------ | | AirPortAtheros40 | pci168c,30 | pci168c,2b | YES | Author Disclaimer: The majority of the software is public on the internet, I only have patched some files and wrote this guide, I am not responsible of any possible damage to your PC, do it at your own risk despite I consider it worth it.
