1. Have removed the kernel patch, and am trying clover. See this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299786-advice-sought—black-screen-after-boot/#entry2044867 Now I KP at startup. "Unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"" I haven’t installed anything yet; I’m just trying to boot into the USB installation drive. To get it to boot I had to change mach_kernel using this perl patch discussed here: If I set GraphicsEnabler=No (default), I simply get a black screen after I see it do its normal verbose boot (the screen goes black right after [iOBluetoothHCIController]. If I set GraphicsEnabler=Yes, then it simply hangs on the same [iOBluetoothHCIController]. Has anyone run into this problem? I'd really appreciate some sort of solution. If no one has a solution, then any possible ways I could troubleshoot this would also be appreciated. A concise summary below: Issue: Black screen after boot. I can see everything on the boot screen, but nothing after. Hardware: EVGA Classified Z97 2x EVGA reference 780Ti i7-4790K Things I have tried: GraphicsEnabler=No (black screen remains) GraphicsEnabler=Yes (Hangs on [iOBluetoothHCIController]) PCIRootUID=0,1 DSDT=no -f, -F, -x
2. Evening all, here we go. I'm running a hackintosh that is dependent upon stability for my work, yet despite all my efforts I cannot get it to stop doing a complete lock up (total freeze). The OS stops responding, the "caps lock light" stops responding, but the MOBO/GPU fans keep spinning. The issue occurs randomly, however I can force the issue by attempting a specific download. I have been attempting to download Autodesk Maya after my fresh install, but only get 40-250 MB into the download before a lockup. My download speed is around 20mb/s (not mbps), so it only lasts for about 10-20 seconds before a freeze. Computer Specs as follows: 10.9.5 Fresh Install ##### 6.5.0 Easy install USB Generic Kext Intel Haswell 4790K:(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369) ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1(http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z97_MARK_1/) EVGA GTX 780 TI SuperClock with ACX (http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-2884-KR) NVidia Alternate Web Driver 10.9.5 Samsung 850 512GB Pro (no Trim)(http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/ssd850pro/overview.html) Corsair Vengance 16GB 2x 8GB (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-low-profile-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml16gx3m2a1600c10) TP Link TL-WDN4800http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WDN4800 I have been attempting to isolate the issue to no avail. I essentially went through all the steps outlined in this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/121353-mavericks-hackintosh-freezes.html I have tried the following: Tweaked my RAM voltagesTried +/- .1-.3 Changed DRAM Speed Settings in BIOSMade sure it was set to 1600MHZ (what the memory speed actually is) Changed Analog IO, Digital IO voltagesTried +/- .1 Changed ram timing 10/10/10/27 10/10/10/30 10/10/10/24 Tried just 1 stick of RAM Disabled/taken out my GTX 780TI Booted with -X If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it. At this point I'm desperate
EFI.zip
4. Hardware * Asus Maximus VII Hero (Z97) * i7- 4790K (Manually clocked at 4.4GHZ @ 1.1V) * G.Skill Sniper 16GB 1866MHZ * MSI GTX 970 4G Gaming Summary After a post on reddit a while back about which SMBIOS people are using I got into a discussion about my setup and using iMac 15,1 instead of MacPro 5,1. In short apparently it doesn't even really matter at least from my testing. Below you will see I tested on the two mentioned and MacPro 6,1 for added {censored} and giggles. I passed on 14,2 because I initially started with it but it was missing P-States that are again missing in 15,1. Surprise! I am now using MacPro 6,1. I wanted to post here with what I did and get feedback and thoughts from this great community. I generated my SSDT with Pikers tool, ssdtPRGen. The same SSDT is used in all 3 SMBIOS. Everything remained the same on my board and setup. All USB, sound, wake/sleep functions did not change and worked. For graphics to work though and not to boot into a black screen I had to edit deep inside AppleGraphicsControl.kext to make it work on iMac 15,1 and MacPro 6,1. I made both adjustments and no ill effects. You can see only the MacPro takes advantage of additional P-States 41-43. iMac does not use these. I assume in reality that means very little but ideally and this may be my overclockers mentality kick why would you want to use more when you can use less if it's available. Another thing I noticed (placebo effect?) is that using as iMac 15,1 and MacPro 6,1 is that the UI seemed a bit snappier in real time use. The benchmarks reveal the SMBIOS doesn't mean much between my hardware and these options. Switching back and forth between SMBIOS is really easy with Clover. The additional plists are saved in the same location as the original but named config0.plist and config1.plist. It is as easy as going into options in the boot screen, then add a 0 or 1 to the first option which will already say config. Very handy if you guys are going to test around and try to find your best compatible SMBIOS. Also make sure you sign out of iCloud, Messages, Appstore, and Facetime when your switching back and forth.

7. Hello, these are 3 issues ive had on my 4790k clover build, since day one, and through many OSs, and I have never found a solution to any of them. Here are the issues: 1) My Ram has always shown as under-clocked. I have 1866 speed Ram, but it has ALWAYS shown as 1777 speed in the Mac install (ive been through yosemite, cap, and now sierra, have updated clover every now and then etc, same issue). The bios and the windows install both see correct speed. 2) Bios sees the Mac install as several duplicated devices (ie, if I go to bios to choose boot device, or i press f8 on boot for boot menu, it shows "mac os 256gb ssd etc" like 10 times in the list. Eventually, the list grows to a point where it will no longer boot until I clear CMOS and get it back down to being listed once, about every other month. 3) Shutdown speed has always been extremely slow. I have an SSD, and even when the install is clean and new, this issue exists. It takes about 45 seconds or more to shutdown (bootup is still fast, about 10 seconds). This is very annoying, it should take about 3 seconds to shutdown. Please help me with these, guys. Thanks My hardware is: 4790k CPU, Asus z97 Pro Wifi AC mobo, 16gb of 1866 ram, samsung SSD, 980ti, using clover on uefi
8. Hey guys! I'm starting a new installation of Mountain Lion 10.8.5 for my desktop PC Specs: Intel 4790k Haswell Refresh Intel HD 4600 Asus H97M-e mobo Asus Strix 970 4gb 16gb G.Skill Ram Samsung M.2 850 Evo SSD Planning on using the Intel HD 4600 graphics as the 970 gpu is a little newer and incompatible. AFAIK Haswell Refresh is not supported but I've seen another user with a successful build running 10.8.5 Is there any users with a similar or newer setup running an old version OSX? Also, not quite sure with M.2 compatibility but I've ordered one since all my sata slots are filled. Any tips or pointers will be greatly appreciated.
9. Hi everyone, this is my first post in the forum. I have an hackintosh since 2014, built by myself. I installed macOS using ##### two or three times and everything always worked fine. I'm still with Sierra, and I'd like to move to High Sierra using Vanilla method. I created the USB, installed Clover, made all the setup in three or four different ways according to different guides, but I get always the same errors. It seems that the installer pen drive can't see itself in the drives scheme. I tried different pen drives, tried to change from 3.0 to 2.0 and so on. Below the links to download the EFI folder and the screenshots of the verbose boot. The configuration of the workstation is in signature. EFI Screenshots I hope to have not break any rule in this post, I used the search function but I didn't found anything that help me to fix the installation. Thanks in advance for help. Mitch

Power management i7-4790K

Ciao a tutti ragazzi! Grazie mille a tutti!
11. Hi (I can't post in the Clover boot loader section for some reason, I hope this is OK here), I'm running a Gigabyte Z97 UD5H + 4790K combo (Yosemite 10.10.1). Clover is set to not generate C/P states (turned on in the BIOS, however), yet SpeedStep is fully working (checking with the Intel Power Gadget). I do not have an SSDT installed either. It crashes very rarely (if left overnight, awake or asleep) - would it be better to install a custom SSDT, or just leave it? BIOS tweaks might make it more stable. It seems to be generating quite a few states... 0.8 1.12 1.15 1.19 1.44 1.76 2.08 2.40 2.72 3.04 3.36 ... Any ideas why its working automagically, and if an SSDT is worth it? Thanks!
12. I tried to get to the installer on my brother's pc with specs as follow 4790k, maximus VII gene, 16gb of ddr3 ram(4*4) , 2 random hdds and a 250gb 850 evo but after i boot into clover and select the usb it does the wall of text, gets into the installer, let me(sometimes) select the language and if try to go into disk utility or just to install after a few seconds or instantly it reboots, any idea about how to fix that?
