  1. Hey guys! I've been trying to get my Radeon 4890(s) working and I think my issue is that I've been booting in 64bit (when I go to the system profiler it says that no kexts were loaded on the card). So I tried booting with 'arch=i386' flag and it says "can't find" \n "press any key to continue..." and brings me back to the chimera screen. Any ideas on what's going on? Also, tried some other boot flags playing around (forgot what) and got: can't find mach_kernel Don't know if it's related or helps narrow it down. I know its very vague and it could be a lot of issues but I'm not sure what logs (or how to log those) you guys would need. Let me know what information I could provide to better aid in finding the problem. System specs: Core i7 920 Asus P6t deluxe v2 2x XFX 4890 ZDFC revision 5.4 Thanks, Jarryd
  2. Hello everyone. I am about to create iPhone Apps. Unfortunately, I have to do it all on the OSX. That's why I need to use OSX86 hope your people can guide me. After I have enough money I will buy a real hardware for sure. Here is my specifications [ ] CPU Pentium 4 3.00GHz [ ] 1.0GB RAM [ ] MotherBoard P4P800 - [ ] Ethernet 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940) - [ ] BIOS v2.51 [ ] Nvidia GeForce FX5500 [ ] HD IDE (WinXP, GNU/Linux Debian 6.0 squeeze) [ ] HD SATA 1st primary 80 GB = iDeneb v1.5.1 OSX86 v10.5.7 leopard 2nd primary = ext3 for Linux storage [ ] USB keyboard & mouse [ ] DVD IDE Pioneer DVD-RW, DVR-117 [ ] Standard floppy I have installed iDeneb V1.5.1 OSX86 V10.5.7 leopard The installation went smoothy as silk. But after installation I must use a DVD to boot up and press F8 then issue a command > -v -x rd=disk0s1 Otherwise, I will end up with error messages about kext problem. Now I can login. Next time I use > -v -s rd=disk0s1 My problems are 1. I can not eject my DVD and boot disc is in there too. 2. Unable to use USB handy drive. 3. Unable to use Ethernet. See attachment for some details. 4. Without -s or Single User at boot argument I cannot login to osx. See attachment for details. In the attachments Audio(Built In)*, Bluetooth, Diagnostics = no information found *P4P800 itself has Audio on-board. If you want more information please let me know. My plans 1. Try another version of OSX86 (I had tried several distro of osx86) 2. Patch all the kext and then upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard. 3. Buy second hand computer (That's horrible for me I just bough ASUS P8Z68-v, i7 2600, GTX570 without CD-ROM drive) 4. Install OSX86 to i7. (Since it has no CD-ROM drive I may buy one if experts from here say that) I don't know which one is the best solution for me. I just want to learn programming iPhone. Day to day task, I always use Debian. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated :] ps. So sorry for my English. I am not a native speaker.
  3. Hello everybody, at first, sorry for my english. I am still in school and from Austria. System specs: Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook T-Series T4220 Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @ 2.10GHz Intel GMA965/X3100 integrated Graphics 4GB of DDR2-333MHz RAM I have installed OS X Lion 10.7.5 on my laptop. Everything works fine when I boot into OS X in 64 bit. However, if you open launchpad, you can see the lines getting drawed and if it even appears, the shattering when switching between pages is terrible. It is impossible to watch youtube videos, pages doesn't work... So you see QE/CI is disabled. When I navigated to "System information", in the section "Graphics Card" the right Vendor ID and Device ID and everything was shown, but: Kernel extension loaded: no. So I tried to load the pre-installed X3100 kext using kextutil -b in terminal. Output: sh-3.2# kextutil -b com.apple.driver.appleintelgmax3100 Warnings: Executable does not contain code for architecture: x86_64 So it was clear I had to start the machine in 32 bit mode using arch=i386 in chameleon. Apple logo lights up. Ok. Verbose shows no errors. After normal boottime screen gets black, then white and then black again. Finally it lights up, but with a grey screen, one vertical white line where the mouse seemed to be, and a few thicker black and blue vertical lines. If I move the "Mouse-Line" in the middle of the screen, where the logon button is, and click it, you can see the colors of the lines change, like if it would shade into the desktop. I've searched the web for 64 bit drivers, some needed a DSDT patch and since there is no DSDT available for my motherboad (FJNB1D4), they didn't work. However, it ended in a kernel panic every time, sometimes I wasn't even able to boot into 64 bit and had to reinstall OS X. Please help me! Thanks in advance, Kikill3r
  4. To see if your currently running 64 bit or 32 bit kernel: Mountain Lion- You already are and nothing to check. Lion and Snow Leopard- The easiest way is to go to the Apple logo in the Menubar and click About This Mac > More Info> System Report or go to Apple logo in the Menubar and hold down the option key, the "About This Mac" item will change to "System Information" and you can click it. Either way should get you to the System Info screen: Click on Software as seen in the left column as seen in the picture above. It will say "Yes" if running 64-bit and "No" if running 32-bit. This image is taken from a early 2008 MacBook which is not capable of running 64-bit kernel, or Mountain Lion for that matter. Can This be Changed? Lion and Snow Leopard are capable of running either 32-bit or 64-bit kernel, not to be confused with 32/64-bit kernel extensions, where 64-bit extensions can run on a 32-bit kernel, but 32-bit extensions will not run on a 64-bit kernel. So to run 64-bit, all your extensions loaded need to be 64-bit capable. There may be cases where you need to specify if you wan't one or the other to load, usually due to hardware or other compatibility reasons. To do this on a temporary basis, at the Chameleon boot promt type: for 32-bit arch=i386 or for 64-bit arch=x86_64 To make the change more permanent, open the org.chameleon.Boot.plist in your /Extra folder and add either of the above (only one, not both) into the string after kernel flags like this <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string>
  5. I already installed Yosemite on my laptop, I am using BIOS+MBR, booted with Chameleon, I put the rom file under /Extra folder, add "GraphicEnabler=Yes" and "UseAtiROM=Yes", and it successfully booted the graphic card and QE/Ci was enabled. However I can simply distinguish the screen shows graded color and the desktop picture looks like a painting, which doesn't look good. I searched the internet and it seemed like adding the following code into DSDT file may solve the problem: "@0,display-link-component-bits", Buffer (0x04) { 0x06, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, So I tried create the DSDT code for my graphic card according to this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/287995-how-to-launch-ati-card-by-dsdt/, but I could't find the corresponding values for some settings like "@0,AAPL,boot-display" and "AAPL,overwrite_binimage" so I don't know what kind of value should be put inside the braces. So can anyone show me how to create the DSDT code for my graphic card? I think once getting rid of the rom file and GraphicEnabler to let chameleon boot the graphic driver from DSDT, I can try if the above code works showing the 32bit true color. I attached the info file, which includes DSDT.aml 1002_6827.rom and Macbook Pro file extracted from IORegistryExplorer. Also I extracted the framebuffer code and modified AMD7000Controller.kext using "Buri", the FB info are showed below: senseid eDP 02 DisplayPort 1 03 DisplayPort 2 04 HDMI 01 txmit enc eDP 21 00 DisplayPort 1 11 02 DisplayPort 2 12 04 HDMI 22 05 In the AMD7000Controller.kext, I modified "Buri" as the following: Buri (4) @ 0xa1ca0 LVDS, DP, DP, HDMI 02000000000100002905010021000002 00040000040300000009020011020103 00040000040300000009030012040204 00080000040200000001040022050301 02 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 29 05 01 00 21 00 00 02 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 09 02 00 11 02 01 03 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 09 03 00 12 04 02 04 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 04 00 22 05 03 01 Many thanks in advance! 6. Hi again. So when i finally got my Hackintosh running on my AMD computer i quickly noticed some apps crash when i launch them. I think all native Apple apps works (including Finder). Since Finder works perfectly I assume no 32bit app works. I googled around and saw that a lot off people have this problem on Hackintosh but no real solution other than re-installing your system. I currently run my Mac with: UseKernelCache=amd arch=i386 But I can also run it with -force64 instead of arch=i386 but that does not fix my problem. I have even tried using both at the same time. I will edit this post with picture off the error but I'm currently installing my OSX again.
