  1. I just installed Mavericks on my Atom-powered Asus 1201n. The installation method i used was cloning my successful installation on my main machine to a 16GB USB thumb drive, and then to a partition on my netbook, then adding fakesmc and nullcpupowermanagement, and installing Chameleon (r. 2171). Finally, i copied my working Extra folder from the main partition of my netbook to the new one.It sorta managed to boot - using -f - but it hangs right where the userland would, well, land. That means it's either something i missed - and i'm performing changes right now - or the kernel patcher module, that was our oasis with Mountain Lion, cannot handle Mavericks' kernel, which would be sad.I'll keep you all posted!

WARNING: thread history follows: (cloned from post HERE) RehabMan has been hard at work and has created a much better, more reliable method for both current and possibly future OS X installs. His new method, named the "hotpatch" method is far superior to our old ones and should rightfully take its place. Following is a direct link to his detailed and extensive guide to assist both current and future users with their adventures in OS X. Should you find success using his method, please remember to say THANKS for his work and to possibly add to his growing repository to hopefully assist future users in their own success stories. If you are looking to try on the very bleeding edge, then this is where you want to be. 3. Boot.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Credits</key> <string>Niresh12495</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>"1920x1080x32"</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-f npci=0x2000 dart=0</string> <key>KeyLayout</key> <string>mac-fr</string> <key>QuietBoot</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>DType</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>3</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>y</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> Et voilà
  4. 10.9 is finally here and looks like its time for an update. What do you recommend - fresh install or update from 10.8.4? I've already seen couple of posts saying that update works and there is no need for fresh install.
  5. Hello. Could you, please, help me to resolve the problem I have with two different OS configurations? My hardware specs are in the signature & I use latest Chameleon from SVN. So, iAtkos 10.8.2 works (sometimes there are freezes for 2-3 seconds), but I have to upgrade to install Xcode. 10.8.5 - installed from AppStore on top of iAtkos. Only safe boot works as needed, although there are redrawing issues ( for example, the pages, incl. default start page, in Safari redraw themselves many times ). But when I try to boot to regular mode, after the row that tells me that NVDANV50HAL is loaded, the graphics tries to start: there is a white screen, and immediately thick horizontal lines show that go up towards the top of the screen. Mouse cursor (arrow, not rainbow) is stuck and the PC freezes completely. 10.9 - tried to install from the USB, created from scratch with the help of this thread. The only difference was that the freeze happened 1 to 5 minutes after the GUI was loaded and the lines were on top of the desktop and not the white screen. Here I sometimes got kernel panic about NVDA, but I didn't get a real trace, only the first row, as it was printed so slowly, that it took more than 10 minutes to print it on top of the desktop, without the black screen ( weird!). Now I try to use 10.8.5 after many installations. The same behaviour manifests both with the default Nvidia drivers and with web drivers on ML, using nvda_drv=1, as there are no web drivers for Mavericks yet. In Mavericks the same happens when there were only two unofficial kexts that were loaded: latest version of FakeSMC from kozlek and AppleIntelE1000e for the LAN. Tried to use DSDT (basically, the only patch I've applied was for the m-board from olarila). I really have no idea what should I try next. My main OS is Linux, installed on another HDD, and the graphics works here pretty good. 10.8.2 and safe boot on both 10.8.5 and 10.9 work, so I don't think it is a hardware issue. Please, please try to help me - I need OSX to learn to code Objective C for the work. Thank you!
  6. Hey guys, I recently remade my USB including RampageDev's patched kernel for Ivy Bridge E, now after entering -x -v cpus=1 npci=0x3000 PCIRootUID=0, I am stuck at AppleIntelE1000e(info): AppleIntelE1000e: WOL = 2. Any ideas on how to fix?
  7. Hello folks! I'm having some graphics glitches with my GTX 770 on OS X Mavericks 10.9. My boot args are -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 The glitch seems to happen mostly in graphical transitions. Instead of a smooth transition the graphics blink rapidly during transition animations then return to normal when there is no transition movement. Ive attempted to use pandora's box to patch the video kexts with no avail. Any ideas on how to go about resolving this issue and getting full graphics acceleration in 10.9? Relevant hardware: EVGA GTX 770 2gb (Read as the GK104 in 'About This Mac') Gigabyte z87-HD3 i7 4770k OSX Mavericks 10.9 (issue persists in both DP1 and DP2) Any help is much appreciated! thanks in advance!
  8. Hi, When on 10.8, I edited about this mac by modifying com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist in ~/Library/Preferences. I changed the name, computer picture, and a couple of other things. I restarted and tested it, it worked fine. After updating to 10.9, it worked for a while, then I tried to open it, but it does not, nothing happens. System Information still opens, but about this mac does not open. I tried moving com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist to the desktop and rebooting, I had the same issue (OS X had made another on reboot which was empty). I was using a smbios.plist in /Extra, so I downloaded a stock one and used that, not change. I then just renamed it to smbios.plist.old to disable it all together. Still same thing and I have run out of ideas. Graphics all work perfectly so it isn't a graphics problem. Any ideas? Thanks.
  9. Hey guys, since I cannot find a solution to my problem anywhere, I think it is time once again to start a thread and ask you. As the title says, Mavericks won't shut down completely. It just gets to the point where my screens have turned off, but fans, blu-ray drive, etc. are still running, forcing me to manually hit the power button for 4 seconds. Interestingly restart works just fine (restart fix is applied, but I think it would even work without). Also my shutdown log is apparently ok. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Lukas

  11. so i started compiling clover and saw so many versions with such few released and decided to release the newest version as soon as it's out. http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/file/4151-clover-v2/ Updated fixes stuff WARNING:it's the absolute latest and may introduce bugs and unfinished functions.
  12. I stuck with my motherboard at a very strange point... The patched BIOS is installed and I took the Mavericks installer from this tutorial. And know I tried several Boot flags such as: GraphicsEnabler, UID, npci. But the Boot just crashs or stuck at this point, also tried different USB ports. Iam booting from the GTX 470 with DVI. I would be so glad for some help with this problem. Thank you guys!
  13. Hi, I'm going to attempt installation of 10.9 inside VMWare on an AMD laptop. Firstly, before asking for help, I have one major doubt. All AMD piledriver CPU's have all the instruction sets present on Intel Sandy Bridge CPU's, inclusing SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, and SSSE3. Why do I still need a patched kernel to run OS X 10.9 on an AMD CPU? Does the kernel check the CPUID string before booting? If so, will merely fooling the kernel by bypassing the CPUID string check make mavericks run without any issues, or is there more effort involved in Kernel patching? Secondly, coming to what I'm attempting. I have the 10.9 dmg from Apple. I'm using MyHack to create a bootable pendrive. I'm using the "BSA R9 Kernel", which is supposed to support SSE4. My plan is to follow the steps here, http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/294868-guideamd-athlon-x2-x6-with-mavericks-1091/ , but with this updated kernel. What command line flags do I need to set for it to work? Has anyone tried this before? I'm trying to create a Hackinstosh like the Souldev Team. Sorry if this post seems like a noob asking to many stupid questions Peace, Shawn
  14. Hey guys so this is my first post, I apologize if I leave something out or this has been answered, but I cant seem to find it. So I have been trying to get os x 10.9.4 or later installed on my PC. Specs Windows 7 SP1 X64 AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8 GHz Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H DDR3 4GB Ram ATI Radeon HD 4250 AMD High Definition Audio Device I installed VMware Workstation 10 and used the Unlocker 1.3. Added the VM for OS X 10.9, Removed the "firmware = efi" when I attempt to boot using the .vmx IDE torrent "os x mavericks 10 9 retail vmware image" I get to Loading Darwin/X86 screen and it just keeps spooling. I don't know how to get past that screen and get to the installation. I installed Virtualbox 4.3.12 and used the Niresh ISO. I finally got OS X installed using the amd64 flag and added the graphics for 1080p. It runs pretty slow in Virtualbox but at least it boots. When I try to upgrade to 10.9.5 uding the app store, the purpose of having OS X is to use Xcode which needs 10.9.4+, it boots to the Guru Meditation error. I am really lost here and have been reading forums and install guides for the past week. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for everything so far guys. P.S what is the fasting more stable software to use VMware or Virtualbox? Can I install OS X 10.9.5 on either one using AMD?

    ATI Radeon 6370m - Mavericks

Hello guys, I am trying to make work my ATI radeon 6370M 512mb on my Packard bell TK 85. I'm starting this topic cause i can't find anything at this moment to make that graphic card work properly on oSX 10.9. Sound is not working, my video card is well recognized but get lagging and only 4mb recognized on 512mb. Default framebuffer is Eulemur. I read a lot on how to edit framebuffer personality. My AMD5000controller.kext is already patched with what i think are the appropriate information of my videobios. I will share my results if i succeed in it. otherwise if anyone get the solution, i will be more than interesting cheers!

  19. I have a Lenovo Z500 Touch with Mavericks Installed using Clover. IntelCoreI5 3230M. How do I get acceleration with clover?
  20. Boa noite pessoal. Portatil: Insys m761su CPU: T3400 RAM: 4GB Grafica geforce 9300M GS

    MSI MPOWER Z87 install help

Hello! I'm brand new to installing OS X onto a physical machine, so please pardon my newbishness note: I posted this in the wrong place (OSX 10.9 installation), so If this is also the wrong place, could an admin please move me to the right place thanks! So Here's the build I'd like to install OS X 10.9 (or 10.8 if 10.9 wont work): Processor: Intel Core i7-4770k Graphics Card: MSI Twin Frozr GTX 660 Ti (The MSI version of Nvidia's GTX 660 Ti?) Memory: Patriot Viper 32GB (4x 8GB cards) Motherboard: MSI MPOWER Z87 Chipet (Does have the UEFI thing) DVD Drive: ASUS 24x DVD Burner DRW-24B1ST HDD: 1 or 2 TB (Don't think it matters) I built it with the best that I could get, thinking that it would be better so that OS X would run really fast So will my hardware support? and what boot flags (I read some of the instructions) should I use? Will provide everything necessary to get this baby working xD Thanks! DustinKazi P.S. Could I also possibly install Xcode and iLife on it (via the DMG files that I found)?
  22. Hey everybody, Today I bought an sitecom cn-524 bluetooth 4.0 adapter (CSR8510 A10 chip) as it should be supported on Mac/Hackintosh. But after plugging it in no bluetooth device is detected, but I can see my adapter in system information. Can someone help me?
  23. Can anybody offer help as to how to boot 10.9 without using GraphicsEnabler=No flag? Installing 10.9 onto clean SATA drive on Dell Inspiron 530 with G33M02 motherboard and ATI 3600 PCI-e graphics card 10.8.2 already installed (NO DSDT) on separate SATA drive and boots with no flags. I had trouble originally getting 10.8 installer to see hard disks (common Dell issue) but managed it with older kexts/AHCIPortInjectors hence no DSDT required. Same approach did not work with 10.9 and eventually had to use a DSDT somebody had used on Vostra 400 and Dell 530. This worked and the SATA disks could be seen and 10.9 installed. 10.9 requires this DSDT to boot, otherwise cannot see hard disks. However unless I use GraphicsEnabler=No boot will hang and give an error regarding "Sound Assertion in AppleHDAWidget line ..." . With GraphicsEnabler=No 10.9 will boot. Tried most boot arguments [-x,-f, PCIRootUID=0 or 1, npci=0x3000 or 0x2000, KernelCache=No ] all with no effect and I have to use GE=No. I have removed all the IntelHD kexts as they have described as being a problem. Both 10.8 and 10.9 see the graphics card and both seem not to have a kext assigned (10.8 definite, 10.9 not sure). have Realtek Intel 888 audio support installed but the GE=No requirement occurred before the audio kext installation. Queries: Could it be the DSDT in 10.9 causing the problem (no experience of DSDT) but cannot remove it as needed for the hard disk. Is it really a graphics issue and sound issue is coincidence coming after it. I do not seem to have an AppleHDADisabler some refer to - should I have one and would this help as error is ApppleHDAWidget Is it just the old ATI3600 not Mavericks compatible even though works with 10.8? Any ways I can get 10.9 to boot without GraphicsEnabler=No? Thanks in advance
  24. Download http://goo.gl/qlWGgU UPDATE 10.10.1 - Nov 18, 2014: - Updated to 10.10.1 - Use modified Apple's IOBluetoothFamily.kext version for Bluetooth. - Switch back to Apple's AppleHDA.kext. - Patch on the fly using CLOVER for AppleHDA and AppleIntelFramebufferCapri - Use NVIDIA Web Driver, URL to download from this thread: topic/301416-nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-yosemite/ - BIOS settings: set boot mode to Both (UEFI & Legacy), UEFI First to avoid problem with Optimus and NVIDIA Discrete mode 10.10 beta 5 - Oct 13, 2014: - Updated to 10.10 beta 5 - Added package for 10.10: Bluetooth work with old IOBluetoothFamily.kext from 10.9.x. Updated DSDT for NVIDIA, Optimus and Intel only. - Move to mega.co.nz for better hosting and versioning. 10.10 beta 3 - Sep 26, 2014: Anyone tried 10.10 Yosemite? I tried last night and it's work with some issues, but useable. I have updated to Beta 3 also. Here is some screenshots: Short summary: - Bluetooth - NVIDIA not work (DP1, not tested on Beta3) - Intel HD4000: native res but no QE/CI - Sound: Need to patch AppleHDA.kext for layout 28 - Battery: need new patch in DSDT (use tluck's T420 DSDT work) - Sleep / Shutdown work as Mavericks Quick way: - Update your CLOVER first to latest: sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/files/latest/download - Create bootable usb or partition using this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298521-easy-yosemite-1010-usb-installer-updated-9-2-2014/ Note: you will need to copy BaseSystem.dmg (it is big as 470MB) so you will need at least 8GB USB. I have 6.5GB partition and it is fit for setup size but I don't have room for modding (kext, backup...) - Download CLOVER package from tluck's topic then extract, backup your kexts and copy all EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10/*.kext to /S/L/E/ - Add kext-dev-mode=1 to CLOVER kernel argument. - After install / upgrade you will need to re-copy all kexts. Update 1: Never mind, NVIDIA work well after repair permission. System FAN and Thermal Sensor for NVIDIA not show (need to patch with new DSDT) Update 2: - System FAN, GPU and other thermal sensor work after update DSDT, updated HW Monitor and latest FakeSMC. - NVIDIA Work but not detect / turn on built-in monitor, need to detect displays in displays settings to turn it on after boot. - Bluetooth still not work - Sound work with VoodooHDA - Battery work Look like CPU throttled too much, it is stick at 3Ghz most time and temperature is about 90oC @@, might need to generate SSDT or can be Yosemite issue. The temperature is about ~50-60oC with Intel HD4000. 10.9.3: HWMonitor version 6.8.1307 support FAN sensor (Check for update inside app and install FakeSMC and all it's plugins) NVIDIA: new version not work, replace with old working kexts (NV*.kext) Intel HD 4000 Capri: patch with Platform-ID `0300 6601` - Hex: `01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 02 00 00` AppleHDA: patch-hda-3.1 NOT work - Work with VoodooHDA 2.8.4 (download from zip file here or pkg installer here AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext patch with AICPMPatch Bluetooth: using modified kext from #26 (thanks @eilatuno) Others old kexts: AppleACPIPlatform.kext, IOUSBFamily.kext Shutdown / Restart / Sleep work well using latest CLOVER r2671 10.9.1: Sound stop working as AppleHDA.kext updated for VoiceOver bug fix, re-patch with patch AppleHDA script 3.1 from this thread Everything work well as 10.9.0 as last. Backup and copy kexts from attached file 4. Option: install LCD display profile 5. Option: install HWMonitor.app 6. DSDT: Use diff tool to apply diff changes a) I'm using 3 different DSDT file for 3 graphic config mode: DSDT.d.dsl / DSDT.d.aml: for Discrete graphic only BIOS config VGA, Mini-DP work well but hottest Temperatures on my machine: CPU: avg: 65oC, range: 60-85 GPU: avg: 60oC, range: 56-74 DSDT.o.dsl / DSDT.o.aml: for Optimus graphic BIOS config - NOTE: you will need to backup & remove /S/L/E/NVDA* because of OS X not support Optimus mode and it caused conflict loading video driver. DSDT.i.dsl / DSDT.i.aml: for Integrated graphic only BIOS config Optimus & Integrated gave me much more cooler temperatures but NO VGA, Min-DP - I usually use Integrated mode for travelling and Discrete mode for work because I need extend to my external Dell monitor. c) Temperatures when using Integrated only mode: CPU: avg: 45oC, range: 40-70-80 d) I added FAN control to DSDT based on T420 / W520 guides, Thinkvantage button will be used to toggle turbo fan mode. 7. Feel free to ask and discussion here about Mac OS X on T430 series, I will try to help if I can in my spared time.
  25. HAH! SORY I HAVE POSTED AS ASUS, IT'S GIGABYTE. Hi guys! Thanks for reading my topic. First, We have: - Gigabyte Z87-HD3 - Intel Core i5 4570 3,2Ghz - 32GB G.Skrill 2133Mhz ( For hackintosh start, only 8GB) - GT210 (is not connected now, we use internal HD4600 for install) So, we have tryed to start up 10.9 DP3 with my friend 7ender about 14H, and we have just little bit of progression. We use Chimera 2.1.2 (latest update), DSDT and FakeCMS. So, problem is, that if we boot hackintosh normal without DSDT, we stuck at bluetooth stage Normal start with DSDT Hackintosh can boot with -X. This pack include: - Extra folder what we use in chimera - Photos from bios ( if we have some wrong settings?) I hope someone can help us with this problem. Best. Regards Yuras
